While you’re there if you get hungry or thirsty they have food trucks that sell food, but make sure if you have any special food requirements that you bring some snacks with you to get you through the day just incase they don’t meet your requirements. There will be a water station if you want to bring a plastic water bottle that you can refill at the stations. For those over eighteen there there is a bar that you can go to. But make sure that you have you drivers license or proof of age card to prove your age. I recommend taking cash as some venders and the pub will only have pay pass. Just in case you forget to bring some cash they do have ATM facilities on site but they can be very popular at times. Having trouble trying to find out how to get there and don't want to spend a lot of money on catching taxi's there are buses that can pick you up. The routes are: The Ville Casino/The Strand going to GTM ( Groovin the Moo) Townsville, CBD/ Cowboys to GTM Townsville, JCU Main stop(route 1) to GTM Townsville, JCU Main stop (route 2)to GTM Townsville, The Willows Shopping Centre to GTM. They are all the different routes the do cost additional money but not as much as a taxi its around $11.50 there and back or you can purchase a one way for just $5.00.

Rarotonga Cook Islands Rarotonga is my home away from home
Rarotonga is a beautiful country full of blue skies and spectacular blue water beaches. You could stay at any hotel and still be five minutes from the beaches. The locals are all nice and cheerful. Rarotonga is the capital of 15 islands. These are my 6 favourite island's: •
Rarotonga
•
Aitutaki
•
Atiu
•
Mauke
•
Mangaia
•
Mitiaro
When you go to Rarotonga you should stay at one of these four hotels and let me know how it goes: 1.
Rarotongan beach resort and lagoonarium
2.
Muri beach club Hotel
3.
The Edgewater Hotel
4.
The Crystal blue lagoon villas
tray of a car while it’s being driven. There are a lot of scooter drivers there. There are markets which have an amazing assortment of food and they also have dancing performers that are really talented. Make sure to check out all of the beaches they are really amazing. If you are there on a Sunday make sure you attend church because that’s where everyone will be. Because most things are closed until after church. Make sure that you enjoy the fresh seafood right out of the ocean it can't get any better. Or if you enjoy hiking make sure to try hiking the whole island, It only take's about half the day. Remember when you get there to change your watches to the correct time. They have different phone services there, you will need to go into telecom and grab a sim card to use while you are there. The currency in Rarotonga is New Zealand currency. There is an ANZ bank on the Island for you to use. We try to keep the Island clean by picking up or rubbish and making sure they can't blow away. When you visit Rarotonga make sure you are relaxing, that’s what you're there for. Have fun!
Are you planning on going to Rarotonga and not sure what activity you can do? There are lots of activities such as you can go on captain Tama’s lagoon cruises. You can go fishing, hiking or you can sit by the beach and enjoy a cocktail while listening to the waves crash against the sand. You can go and enjoy a buffet dinner at Te Vara Nui and watch the beautiful story of the Legend of Tongaiti. I’ve watched it and amazing story. They have great food and they are very friendly, after the performance you are able to take photos with the performers. The Island is made up of one main road, there are no traffic lights just two roundabouts and we don’t go faster then 50kms/h. That means there is no need for a, seatbelt most cars don’t have them and people are allowed to sit in the

Live Music in Townsville Get back to normal by supporting the local music scene
Struggling to find your feet after our recent rain event? Why not head to a hotel or bar in our region and support our local music talent? Coming from the Brisbane , I had to settle for the memories of the old days where you could go down to the local on a Sunday, have a few drinks and enjoy some live music. Of all the attractive things Townsville seems to offer, the abundance of local bands and places to see them perform has been the most exciting aspect of my moving to this beautiful place. Here in Townsville we are spoiled rotten with act after local act across almost every single weekend. I started my music appreciation journey in Townsville at the fortnightly Townsville Folk club meeting. Every second week (weather permitting) the club meets and plays at the Bellevue Hotel. The nights usually have a feature act or two, and an open mic for those who want to share their talents. Apart from the great music on display every time, I love the care-free attitude of the artists. It is not unusual to be having an enlightening conversation with people at the bar who later end up on stage. The Folk club community gets behind everyone who has a go. It is not uncommon to hear the loudest applause directed at the newbies, and regular artists are always available to have a chat or give advice. The Townsville Folk Club is the working group behind the annual Palm Creek Folk Festival which is held each year, this year the event is held on 6-9 June 2019. Palm Creek Festival is a camping weekend, with camping fees included in your ticket price. There are some great campsites in what must be described as an idyllic setting nestled under Mt Elliot.
For more information relating to the event, see website: http://palmcreek.com.au/ Another great way to find local bands performing on any given weekend is to check http://www.townsvillerocks.com/gig-guide which provides you with a comprehensive run down of the bands in your area. Venues that regularly have live music include:
Bohle Barn
Seaview Hotel
Herbert Hotel
Kirwan Tavern
The Ross Island Hotel
Bellevue Hotel
Must see local bands in Townsville in no particular order are:
Batphink
Fools Gold
4 Degrees
Homebrew
Late November
Von Lucas & Smith
Freaky Bizness
Hear Me Out
Random Tangent
So Townsville, get out there and see these local bands if you can. Most times there is no charge to see these bands/artists play and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
