PIXIE LOTT TUNES IN TO CITROËN Citroën’s DS3 is to appear in the music video for the brand new single ‘Broken Arrow’ by English singer-songwriter and global pop sensation, Pixie Lott. The partnership will be a UK first for vehicle product placement in a music video. Directed by Gregg Masuak, the video follows Pixie in a free-fall of romantic scenes, both past and present, encountering lost loves and new relationships. Out on 11th October, the single is a brand new track from the re-released version of Pixie Lott’s multiplatinum 2009 debut album, Turn It Up, which has sold over 600,000 copies in the UK alone. The attention-grabbing DS3 is the first model in Citroën’s distinctively-styled DS line. Re6 TARMAG.CO.UK
freshingly new - not retrospective - DS3 is an audacious addition to its class, placing desire at the heart of the motoring experience with its aesthetic appeal and vitality. Pixie Lott is a 19-year old multi-award-winning singer-songwriter from London. She rose to fame with her June 2009 debut single ‘Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)’, which went straight to number one in the UK charts, with her debut album producing five consecutive Top 20 singles. Pixie has recently appeared as a guest judge on The X Factor. To watch the video in full, visit www.citroen. co.uk/our-news/latest-stories/pixie-lott-andds3-video/

NEW GENERATION smart ARRIVES IN STYLE The striking new generation smart fortwo, priced from £8,780 on the road, is now on sale. A host of enhancements ensure the new smart is even more appealing than its acclaimed predecessor, providing significant improvements in style, comfort, CO2 emissions and equipment. The unmistakeable iconic looks of the smart are strengthened with the front and rear aprons, side skirts and filler cap now finished in body colour as standard. The pulse specification now benefits from new eye-catching 3-double-spoke alloy wheels and the Xclusive has stylish new Monoblock VII alloy wheels, while both pulse and passion can now be specified in the brighter shades of new light blue and matt light green colours. In addition, the practicality of the coupé is heightened as it is now possible to open the car’s rear lower tailgate using just one of its two release levers rather than both as previously.

LONDON’S DEPUTY MAYOR DRIVES HONDA HYDROGEN CAR Kit Malthouse, Deputy Mayor for Policing in London and Chair of the London Hydrogen Partnership, was among the first in the UK to drive Honda’s hydrogen fuel cell car, the FCX Clarity, earlier today at City Hall in London. Honda has brought an FCX Clarity to the UK to inform and educate policy makers of the viability and potential of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, which emit no pollutants, only water vapour from the exhaust.
vel of electrochemistry and advanced engineering in the FCX Clarity,” said Mr Malthouse. Honda is already leasing FCX Clarity vehicles in the US and Japan, where there are emerging infrastructures to support hydrogen-powered cars. There are no plans at present for the commercial introduction of the FCX Clarity in the UK.

Maserati GB and its London retailer HR OWEN Sports Cars were extremely proud to support the revival of the Queen Charlotte’s Ball, for the second year running. The Ball was founded over two hundred and fifty years ago by Queen Charlotte with the help of the debutantes of the time to raise funds for mothers and babies through the hospital later called Queen Charlotte’s Hospital.

New ‘60’ registration cars are leaving the showrooms throughout the UK and Peugeot Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC) winning drivers Nicolas Minassian and Anthony Davidson were two of the first to ‘60’ for it. Both drivers chose an RCZ GT THP 200 naturally as it is the most powerful version, but also because it features larger diameter front brakes, a bracing bar to stiffen-up the front suspension and an engine Sound System to maximise the driving experience. They also took advantage of the RCZ’s personalisation options and specified Anthra Grey Soltice 19” alloy wheels, brilliant black grille and brake callipers and elegant Champagne roof arches. The popularity of the RCZ has really taken off with advance orders now stretching to year end. 85% of new customers are specifying the top-of-the-range ‘GT’ specification that features as standard electric powered and heated leather seats, automatic lights and rain-sensing windscreen wipers, front parking aid and auto dipping door mirrors, over the well-specified ‘Sport’ specification.

Loads of club cars on display with some standard cars to extremely modified. The show had a dedicated Show and Shine area which is a good idea and hosted really the top 20 most modified and extreme cars on display that day at the event! Events Director Stuar t Gray commented, “Congratulations must go to Live Promotions, they’ve put on a fabulous show and with the help and collaboration of our own staff it’s be a terrific event.” The Fuel girls put on an amazing show of fire breathing, car washing, loop hanging and well some rather brave souls took to the stage to hole up a tyre, but with a twist.. We have a exclusive feature next month on the girls so be sure to check it out! Big thanks to Radek for the pics as always! CARRERA GTS FURTHER REFINES THE SPIRIT OF THE PORSCHE 911 With a power output of 408 hp, outstanding vehicle dy namics and a specification that emphasises the character of the iconic spor ts coupe, the new 911 Carrera GTS ascends to the pinnacle of the Carrera model series.
has been tuned to produce an additional 23 hp more than the 911 Carrera S, the new GTS combines the traditional 911 vir tues of exceptional spor ting per formance, distinctive styling and day to day versatility.
Powered by a 3.8-litre direct injection flat six engine that
Special attention was paid to the cylinder charge in the 3.8-litre flat engine fitted to
the Carrera GTS in order to deliver 408 hp. A special resonance intake manifold features six vacuum-controlled tuning flaps that switch between pow er- and torque-optimised geometr y, whereas in a Carrera S power unit there is only one tuning flap. Consequently, the maximum torque of 420 Nm is available at 4,200 rpm, 200 rpm earlier than with the Carrera S for increased low rev response. Added to this is a spor ts exhaust system with two dual tailpipes producing a unique sound. The outer shells of the exhaust pipes are painted in black and their inner tubes are polished on the outside and nano-coated. As standard, the Carrera GTS has a six-speed manual gearbox and the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) is available as an option. In comparison with the Carrera S, top speed of the GTS with manual transmission rises by 2mph to 190 mph. In general, acceleration from zero to 62mph improves by 0.1 seconds; for a GTS Coupé with PDK and a Spor t Chrono Package Plus in Spor t Plus mode the benchmark sprint takes just 4.2 seconds. True to the Porsche Intelligent Per formance philosophy, this 42 TARMAG.CO.UK
additional spor tiness goes hand in hand with more rational appeal: the new 911 Carrera GTS consumes no more fuel than the Carrera S in the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). Fuel consumption of a Carrera GTS with PDK in the NEDC is 27.7 mpg (10.2 litres/100 km) and CO2 emissions are 240 g/km. Unique within the 911 Carrera family, the GTS combines the 44 millimetre wider body of the all-wheel drive Carrera 4 models - including widened rear track - with a classic rear-wheel drive configuration. The new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS will have its global debut at the Paris Salon on October 2 and goes on sale in the UK in December, priced from £76,758 for the Coupe and £83,493 for the Cabriolet. Fitted to ever y 911 Carrera GTS is a Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (V TS), a sophisticated vehicle security package approved to Thatcham Categor y 5 standard, and customers will also be able to explore the potential of their new car by par ticipating in a complimentar y course at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone.
