Welcome to the Vaughan Family Ranch Polled Charolais Bull Sale Thanks for your evaluation of our bulls. This marks our 36th year in the Charolais Idustry. We have tried to stay true to our breeding strategy over these years. We have always tried to produce functional and sound cattle by focusing on strong maternal characteristics as well as genetically stacked with carcass merit. We want calves that can be born unassisted, grow and grade. We have participated in various Bull Tests over the years to help evaluate our genetics in a comparative environment.

We have

also culled heavily in cow families based on udder evaluation, body condition, phenotype and disposition. In addition to raising cattle that can perform in challenging environments, we have also participated in the show ring. Although the show ring Champions have definitely changed in phenotype over the years, we are proud to have crossed paths with moderate genetics when the transition started back to functional cattle types. We have shown the National Grand Champion HTA Tatonka, who later walked our pastures to help generate a refined herd nucleus producing a strong maternal base. We are also pleased to have shown the Reserve National Grand Champion Femaleâ&#x20AC;&#x201D;Reba. We then added Baldridge Fasttrack to our walking herd sire line up. Fasttrack is a Role of Excellence herd sire and has been a multi-year multi-trait leader and is an icon in the Charolais Industry. His daughters are known for strong maternal traits and are solid milkers. Our most recent herd sire additions include HCR Director, HCR Outlook and HCR Reward. All of these bulls were selected based on ratio busting performance in growth and carcass traits. We are calving to these bulls now and are very excited about the prospects. Semen is available on all of our listed herd sires. We are pleased to offer a nice selection of 24 coming 2 year old Polled sons of Director, Outlook and Reward. Many of the bulls are 3/4 brothers by blood. The bulls will have been semen checked and have already been poured this spring with Ivermectin, shot for Black Leg and Pink Eye at weaning and IBR/BVD prior to the sale.
