Dear Angus Friends and Fellow Cattlemen, Welcome to the 20th Annual “Denim and Diamonds” Sale again held in Oklahoma City in conjunction with the Cattlemen’s Congress. We are extremely excited about this offering and the venue and sale area in which the cattle will be displayed and sold in the Super Barn Arena that will allow for an even better viewing experience for the buyers and attendees before and during the sale and I want to thank Tyler, Bray, Kass, JD, Erin, Whitney and the rest of the Cattlemen’s Congress crew and Board of Directors for the effort and attitude that they bring to this monumental event that allows us such a great marketplace here in the heart of cattle country. This momentous 20th annual event is the result of the continued collective efforts of forward-thinking Angus seedstock producers. The breeders represented in the Denim and Diamonds Sale have again worked together toward the common goal of assembling an offering of elite Angus genetics that combine performance with excellent phenotype to become competitors at any level in our industry. The genetics and EPDs represented on both sides of these pedigrees are second to none, as is the visual quality of the live offering. The 2022 sale offering is especially strong, and quality is present from Lot 1 through Lot 52. As the name suggests, “Denim and Diamonds” is a unique blend of two segments of the Angus industry and has always focused on cattle that shine like a “DIAMOND” on the outside while maintaining the strong genetic fabric, or “DENIM” under the hide needed to excel in the Angus breed and meet all facets of the industry. The 20th Annual Denim and Diamonds Sale combines the influence of the breed’s freshest, most valuable, and proven performance families with the deepest and most elite show prospects and herd sires in the country. The embryo matings, heifer pregnancies, and ET picks feature cutting-edge genetics that are progeny of some of the most popular champions, herd sires and donors in the industry. The herd sire candidate, open show and donor prospects, bred heifers and the flush lots are from proven genetics and donors that are second to none. You will find the influence of the breed’s most proven and influential sires, both in and out of the show ring, are especially strong in this offering. The focus of this sale remains on quality, and you will find that, like a diamond, each lot is distinctive in its own way. Please evaluate your own situation and your breeding goals, and on Thursday, January 5 please join us at 2:30 p.m. following the Angus Bull Show in the Super Barn Arena to view the cattle and enjoy refreshments, and then at 5:00 p.m. in the same arena take advantage of the knowledge and cutting-edge efforts of these breeders and their programs.
