Sale Manager’s Comments Dear Friends and Fellow Cattlemen, Welcome to the Annual 74-51 Red Dirt™ Bull Sale. Once again, it has been a pleasure and an honor to have the opportunity to be a part of this annual event, and I want to again extend a special thanks to Ken, Darvin, Willy, Ashley, Zach, Kim, Steve, Jud and the rest of the 74-51 crew for allowing me to help them market this outstanding set of bulls. This year’s offering is the largest to date and again features an outstanding set of Angus, Simmental, SimAngus and Hereford bulls with the addition of some Charolais Composite and Red Angus Composite bulls to this year’s lineup. Willy and the crew at 74-51, along with their cooperators, have assembled a sound, functional set of bulls that excel in phenotype and individual performance while maintaining a strong genetic base and numerical balance and diversity. The disposition of this group of bulls is worth taking note of as well. Whether you are looking for a herd sire to use in a registered operation, a sire to promote and sell semen on, or a bull to use in your commercial operation, 74-51 has a Red Dirt™ bull that will meet your needs. These bulls have been developed the right way, with emphasis on maintaining soundness and maximizing fertility and longevity. 74-51 bulls are guaranteed for breeding soundness through their first breeding season. They are developed on pasture and grass, and on wheat through the winter. Their success in soundness and longevity has led to these bulls becoming outstanding breeding pieces. Retained Interest 74-51 is retaining a 1/3 semen interest in each bull selling; buyer will own 2/3 semen interest, full possession and full salvage value of the bull. The buyer has the right to purchase up to 80% semen interest at a prorated cost of the gavel price. SALE TERMS & CONDITIONS Terms of Sale CASH or CHECK. All bulls are to be paid for during or immediately following the sale and will not be released until after settlement has been made. Bulls will not be transferred until paid for in full.

Absentee Bids If you would like to place a bid on any lot but will not be able to attend the sale, please contact the ranch, the sale manager, sale consultants or any member of the sale staff. Online bidding will be available to registered bidders through LiveAuctions.tv. Sight-Unseen Guarantee: Any bull purchased sight unseen though a member of our ranch staff, sale staff or approved consultants is guaranteed to meet the approval of the buyer upon delivery.

Health Bulls are current on all vaccinations. All bulls will have interstate health charts required for shipping into other sections of the United States. Any additional tests required for entry into certain states will be performed after the sale and prior to delivery at 74-51’s expense.

Guarantee All bulls sell fully guaranteed under the current Suggested Terms and Conditions of their respective breed association of registry. In addition, 74-51 guarantees the bulls for breeding soundness through their first breeding season. 74-51 guarantees that all bulls sold are fertile and are sound breeders. Every bull 12 months of age and older will have a current Breeding Soundness Examination. In the event that a reproductive injury or structural soundness issue deems the bull unusable during the first six months after purchase, 74-51 will provide a suitable replacement or issue you credit toward another purchase from us in the next 74-51 sale. The salvage value of the bull will be subtracted from the full credit value upon receipt of a copy of the salvage receipt. Please contact us prior to salvaging the bull in question.

Trucking 74-51 will coordinate the free delivery of bulls immediately after the sale. Pick up your bull/s at the ranch within five days of the sale and receive a $50 per bull discount. Please work with the staff at time of settlement to supply us with good working phone numbers to contact you. 74-51 will either deliver the bulls personally or will employ reputable trucking firms to assist us in the process. We will strive to make the delivery as convenient as possible and may have to ask some of you to meet the delivery truck at central points, such as vet clinics or auction barns in your area, as this will speed up the process. We will try to facilitate all shipments within 30 days of purchase. Registration Certificates The bulls will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense. Each buyer must be sure to give the clerk the proper name and address for making transfers.

Insurance Insurance for your purchases will be available sale day at the clerk’s desk.

The dam of Lots 1–10, Lucy P061, has been one of the most consistent producers in the 74-51 herd, as is evident in not only her sons in this sale but also in her 1/4 Simmental, 3/4 Angus daughters featured in the 2013 Red Dirt Divas Sale that sold for $7,500 to Reimann Ranches in South Dakota and Brooke Adams in Texas as well as her seven sons featured in the inaugural Red Dirt™ Bull Sale that averaged $5,778 and included the $15,000 Aftermath, now a herd sire at Pembrook Cattle Co. In the spring 2014 Red Dirt™ Bull Sale, sons sold for $7,250, $7,000 and $6,500, while a grandson sold for $5,750. In the 2014 Red Dirt Divas Sale, P061 produced the $18,750 top selling lot that is a flush sister to Lots 1–3 and Lot 8. 74-51 Changing Time 060 Sire of Lots 1–3, 8, 13–16, 75, 76 & 121 Changing Time was named Reserve National Champion Angus Bull at the 2012 National Western Stock Show in Denver. He was among the most talked about and admired bulls in Denver. Recognized for his length of body, length of hip and extension through his front end, he is just easy to look at. Changing Time is more impressive because of his structural soundness, size of bone and perfect hind leg. This bull exemplifies every great attribute that his sire, Lutton, transposed through his progeny, making them the king of the show ring for the last decade.
