While this isn’t our first bull sale, this occasion does mark our first sale at Russell Livestock Market! We feel very blessed to bring you this offering. If you missed our 13th Annual Production sale on March 4th at our farm in Vinton, IA, we hope you can make it to Russell on the 24th! The cattle markets have made their fair share of adjustments in the past 24 months and have forced everybody in cow-calf production to take a long hard look at production costs to find opportunities to create additional margin. While managing costs is important, we also need to look opportunities to add value and profit potential. Cow-calf producers have the opportunity to add value to their saleable animals through genetic selection, management and marketing. The foundation of a value added cattle program is the utilization of sound genetics. We believe Pedigree+Phenotype+Performance=Profitability from a genetic standpoint. Along with sound genetics and good herd management, we can increase our profit potential through existing marketing platforms. At Rich Red Angus, we believe in profiting together by working alongside our customers to help them enhance the value and profit potential of each calf crop. One opportunity we want to help our customers capture is the value of the Red Angus replacement female. We want to make marketing your heifers in our sales an option for you, to add value to your operation. We are very excited about what our first Stockmen’s Select Bull Sale offering brings to the table for commercial and seed stock producers alike. Several bulls in this sale have either half or full sibs out of

our ET and AI program. You will find a great display of calving ease, carcass, performance, sound phenotype and maternal strength. If you made it to Vinton in addition to this sale, we believe you will find quality runs deep in our bull offering. All of the bulls for this sale were raised until weaning at High Ridge Red Angus Ranch just 4.5 miles north of Russell Livestock Market. The farm is rugged and contains a great deal of fescue making it an ideal location to validate the adaptability of our genetics - we are confident these bulls will work in your environment! Here at Rich Red Angus our goal is to raise bulls that are athletic and ready to go to work breeding cows for many years to come. Our development strategy is to allow the bulls to grow muscle and skeletal structure, not fat. Our personal experience tells us that fat may look nice, but has adverse effects on reproduction and longevity. The bulls were fed a high roughage diet consisting of 13% hay, 15% haylage, 27% corn silage, 32% earlage, 10% dried distillers and 3% mineral and balancer. There are a lot of misconceptions in the industry about EPD’s and carcass data. We encourage you to look at the accuracies of the numbers. We look at the actual in herd performance and ratios as a guide to determining future predictability. Contact us or drop by anytime. TERMS & CONDITIONS Terms of the sale are cash, check, or other terms agreed to in writing between seller, buyer, and sale manager payable immediately upon conclusion of the sale before animals will be moved. Sale Manager reserves the right to require a certified check as settlement before releasing any cattle. Buyer hereby grants to Seller/Sale Manager a security interest in the livestock purchased to secure the payment of the purchase price, and Buyer further authorizes Seller/Sale Manager to file any necessary documents with any Secretary of State or other governmental entity necessary to perfect such security interest. We retain the right to collect semen at our expense on all sale bulls for use in the Rich Red Angus herd. ANNOUNCMENTS: Any errors or changes in information contained in the catalog will be announced from the block and such announcements shall take precedence over the information contained herein. BIDDING: Any disputes or challenges regarding bids or tie bids will be settled by the Auctioneer and the decision will be final. PURCHASER’S RISK: All animals are the owner’s risk prior to their sale and become property of the purchaser as soon as declared sold by the auctioneer.

HEALTH: All animals are eligible for interstate shipment. Interstate health papers prepared by an accredited veterinarian will be furnished on each animal sold. Arrangements for International Shipment should be made with the Sale Manager prior to the auction. All efforts for the exportation of cattle can be arranged through the Sale Manager. BREEDING GUARANTEE: All animals are guaranteed by the seller as outlined in the Suggested Sale Terms of the Red Angus Association of America including but not limited to points 8 and 10. LIABILITIES: All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk. The seller, auction facility, and sale manager assume no liability for any accidents that may occur. This year we chose to break up our catalogs by sire groups. The first group is 5L Independence 560-298Y sons. The Independence sons in this sale are out of our ET program and first calf heifers we AI’d. The calves came easy, grew well and gave us the confidence to continue using 298Y extensively in our program. RRA Independence D065 is a full brother to lots 2, 3 and 4.
