Welcome to the 2nd annual “Reds on the Rocks” event. I refer to this as an event because I truly believe that this is much more than just a sale. It is an offering of some of the world’s best Red Angus genetics that is second to none. The consignors in this event are trusted programs with reputations second to none; I encourage you to buy with confidence from these breeders. Within these pages you will find both tried and true proven genetics as well as some of the newest cutting edge genetics available from many of the breeds leading programs. I feel very confident that you will find genetics that will fit just about any program out there. During the process of assembling the lots within this catalog, I was very impressed with the breeder’s willingness to open their “frozen” herd to me. And to be very honest I probably took advantage of some longtime friends whom I have the utmost respect for when I requested lots from them. My goal is to bring an offering of genetics to you that all have the possibility of topping their respective division in this event. It is with great pride that I present this offering to you and encourage you to carefully study any and all of the lots that interest you. For the ( non-color ) discriminating breeder looking to move their program forward on multiple levels, Paydirt 357Z could be just the sire you’re looking for. His sire, HR Kodiak 5R is one of the most influential sires ever raised in Canada. The dam, Bardolene 5116R was the high selling bred heifer at Crowfoot Cattle Company dispersion. Make absolutely no mistake about it, when I go out searching for lots for this sale I probably abuse a few friendships along the way. Just one year ago Ennis told me that they were “closing the book” on the great Tarmily cow and that they would probably not be selling anymore embryos from her. Perfect Storm was tragically lost way too early in his career. He certainly set the Red Angus world on fire when two daughters sold for $27,000 and $10,000 respectively in the 2012 Tree Lane production sale.
