First Annual Production Sale
March 15, 2019 3:00 pm cst At the Ranch in Stockport, Iowa Selling 2 Year Old Bulls, Open Heifers, and Semen
Welcome to our first annual production sale! It is our pleasure to offer you an opportunity to sample our genetics. After 29 years as a family in the Red Angus business it was not a decision we took lightly. We have been very blessed to enter into a partnership with Rock Creek Red Angus from Joliet, MT. I have long admired the cattle that the Rock Creek program has produced and look forward to the opportunity to add their genetics to our herd as well as offering them to you. We made the decision when we decided to have our own production sale to bring you our very best. We have also decided to offer two year old bulls to you as we believe that they are some of the best value for you our customers. We will also offer you bulls that we have used in our own breeding program as well as heifers from the very top of our replacement pen including most of our show heifers. The only heifers that we will retain are the heifers that belong to our 10 year old son Wyatt and the heifers that we have in partnership with Rock Creek Red Angus. All other heifer will be offered in this sale! Kaye and I are very excited to offer these genetics to you and hope that you will find the animals that will fit into your breeding program. We would also like to invite you to stay after the sale for a complimentary meal and hospitality. The sale will also be broadcast live on DV Auction for your convenience if you are unable to attend in person. If you have any questions please feel free to call me at any time and I will be happy to assist you.
Sincerely,
Stuart & Kaye Gilbert

What a way to kick off our first annual production sale! Think Again 4E has been in our show string and been very competitive on the National level. He is a herd bull deluxe and the right kind. I really like the way this bull is put together from one end to the other. We turned him out with our show heifers after AI season but unfortunately or him they were all bred. Genetically, he lines up two of the most powerful cow families in the Rock Creek program, with the Lacey cow family and the Gloria cow family. With Haycow Cutting Edge and Geis Prime Rib added to these cow families, the genetic value is tremendous. Retaining 50% semen interest.

PROVEN HERDSIRE!!! Biscotti 25D is a bull that we not only showed but also used in our own herd. We are just stating to get our first calf crop from “Scotty” as I write this. So far the calves are coming easy and are running in the mid 70’s for birth weight. I’m pretty sure that with his shape and birth weight so far that he will be heifer safe. His sire Razor Edge 15Z has been a mainstay for Rock Creek in Montana as well as Resslers and Flying W in North Dakota.

Lana’s Pride 1810 has been our lead off heifer in our showstring all season long. She has placed very well throughout the shows that we have exhibited at this year. She is sired by “495” the Conquest grandson that is our senior herdsire and sired many of our best cattle. Her dam is a Mulberry daughter out of a Monu 4X daughter that we purchased as a bred heifer from the DAMAR program. Her EPD profile reads pretty well too with her ranking in the top 24% HB, 22% WW, 21% YW, 24% ADG, 6% HPG, 17% STAY, 19% YG, 28% REA and 13% FAT! We don’t let heifers like this one go very often!

Rockin Lakima 1818 is one of the “495” daughters that has seen the show road. The common comment from judges around the country is “the most heavily muscled female today.” Her Anticipation dam is another purchase for us from the DAMAR program. 1818 has a great look to her and has made a lot of friends all over the country and rightfully so. If you need muscle and shape without sacrificing phenotype, this is your heifer!

Ms Prime Conquest 1821 was our April heifer calf on the showstring this year. She is also a “495” daughter who traces back maternally to UBAR Sequoia, Lakme 70M and 2003 national Intermediate Champion bull, Negotiator. Her dam is one of a very few Sequoia 211X daughtrers that we hae as we lost him very early in his breeding career. 1821 is a stout April heifer who was part of our 2018 JR Get Of Sire at the Iowa State Fair.

Tempest 1701 has been in our showstring from the time she was a baby. She is moderate in her type and kind, easy fleshing, correct and sound. She is sired by “495” and her dam is a Makin Waves 39X daughter out of BCR Tinsel 4P, a proven donor cow in her own right. We believe that Tempest 1701 will play a huge roll in our breeding program for years to come. For her to become a donor female as a two year old for us is almost unheard of, she is “that kind!” Flush her to the bull of your choice or we will also open up our tank and you can use any bull we have in storage.
Flush to be completed by May 1, 2019. Guarantee of 6 #1 embryos, split after 6. Buyer pays all costs of flush Flush will be conducted by Dr. Tara Wellman-Gerdes of West Point, Iowa 20
