Jagger is a special individual. He has garnered more attention in the last three months than any bull we have ever shown. His powerful and structurally sound dam was the high selling cow at the 2012 Red Roundup sale at $21,000 for a half interest to Triple L Angus, SK and Wright’s Livestock, SK. Jagger was the calf she was carrying at that time. As a pair they were successfully campaigned at several Junior shows. As a bull calf, Jagger was the Reserve Champion Junior bull calf at both Agribition and Denver. This fall he has been undefeated in division, winning Champion Yearling bull at both Edmonton Farmfair and Regina Agribition. He then went on to win Reserve Grand Champion Bull at Agribition 2014. He is poised to make his mark in Denver. All his banners and awards are awesome but his greatest value lies in the fact that he is truly a masterful and aggressive breeding bull. As a yearling, Jagger naturally covered 35 breeding females with not one open one in his pasture. He held his condition throughout as he is extremely easy fleshing. When Keith talked to us about putting something into this inaugural sale I didn’t really know what would be a good fit, so I talked it over with Keith and we decided to offer a pick of our entire Red Angus herd. This is the first time in our ranch’s history that we will let anyone come in and choose whichever Red Angus female they would like and own half interest in her. To even sweeten the deal a little more we decided that if the winning bidder would like they can double their bid and own all of her or half interest in two females. This is an opportunity that I know will not happen in the near future if ever again! With an extensive ET program we have really been able to see the cream of the crop come to the top of our herd. BKT LARKEISA M288 CK raised the 2014 high selling Red Angus open at the North Dakota Red Select Sale for $15,000.00 going to Slack Farms and Thomas Ranch both of South Dakota. She also raised a half-blood heifer calf that sold in the North Dakota State Simmental sale later that day and commanded a price of $9000.00 selling to Trade Wind Ranch – Jeff and Elly Moe. The heifers started calving in late December and the new owner will have the added bonus of a calf at side. If a bull calf is at side, the owner has the option to market him through the annual Jeffries bull sale. This could be a prime opportunity for a donor selection to take your herd to a new level!
