STRATE FAMILY CATTLE CO. The flush brothers selling as lots 15A and 15B combine the hottest and most proven names in the Angus show realm into one pedigree while displaying the phenotypic quality you would expect from such a genetic base and EPD profiles that are exceptionally balanced for bulls “bred for the backdrop”. The sire of William and Harry, Conley Express 7211, is one of the hottest bulls in the industry with semen in limited supply and high demand so take advantage of the opportunity to own a direct son and have him walking your pastures or on display on “herd bull alley” next year. The dam of William and Harry, Queen 414 13D, is a result of the highly successful First Class x Queen 414 mating and a direct daughter of the elite Angus donor J&J Queen 414, who has been proclaimed by many as Northern Improvement’s greatest daughter. This cow family is proven to generate unparalleled “look,” quality, structural
soundness and power. Progeny of 414 have dominated the show circuit and include: the 2015 Oklahoma Youth Expo Supreme Champion Female that was also a division winner in Denver; the 2015 American Royal Grand Champion MaineTainer Female, who was also Reserve Supreme Female at the 2015 OYE and Champion Maintainer at the 2015 National Western in Denver; the 2016 Fort Worth and 2015 NAILE and American Royal Grand Champion Percentage Simmental Bull, the Reserve Grand Champion Percentage Bull at the 2012 Simmental Breeder’s Sweepstakes who was also named Grand Champion Percentage Bull at the 2012 Tulsa State Fair; the 2010 Reserve National Champion Percentage Simmental Heifer, WLTR Lydia, and the 2010 National Western Stock Show Reserve Grand Champion Percentage Simmental Bull, WLTR Renegade, who was also named Grand Champion Percentage Bull at the 2010 American Royal.

This is a great opportunity to flush one of the most unique First Class daughters we have discovered. It’s not every day you find a big stout massive female that can still get out and move like a cat. Take advantage of this opportunity and make your next great one. It is no secret that great cows are the key to the industry and you will be hard pressed to find a more proven or dominant Angus donor than Lazy H Bar Forever Lady 5001, the dam of the lot 26 donor. A flush on 517 was the $15,000 selection of Plum Creek from the 2017 Denim and Diamonds Sale. 517 has been a fun one in and out of the showring and gathered attention from cattlemen from other breeds. She was named Reserve Grand Female in the Junior Show at the Illinois State Preview and 5th Overall in the open show and won her division both days. She has had numerous breed championships and Supreme championships during her show career. The maternal granddam of Forever Lady 517 is the $75,000 twice National Western Reserve Grand Champion, VAR Forever Lady 4304, who was a past ROV Embryo Dam of the Year and generated more than $1 million in progeny sales. Ranks in the top 10% for MW; top 20% for WW and Claw.

Dear Angus Friends and Fellow Cattlemen, Welcome to the 19th Annual “Denim and Diamonds” Sale and our first in Oklahoma City in conjunction with the Cattlemen’s Congress. We are extremely excited about this offering and the new venue and sale area in which the cattle will be displayed and sold in the Super Barn Arena that will allow for a better viewing experience for the buyers and attendees before and during the sale. This annual event is the result of the continued collective efforts of forward-thinking Angus seedstock producers. The breeders represented in the Denim and Diamonds Sale have again worked together toward the common goal of assembling an offering of elite Angus genetics that combine performance with excellent phenotype to become competitors at any level in our industry. The genetics and EPDs represented on both sides of these pedigrees are second to none, as is the visual quality of the live offering. The 2021 sale offering is especially strong, and quality is present from Lot 1 through Lot 40. As the name suggests,“Denim and Diamonds” is a unique blend of two segments of the Angus industry and has always focused on cattle that shine like a “DIAMOND” on the outside while maintaining the strong genetic fabric, or “DENIM” under the hide needed to excel in the Angus breed and meet all facets of the industry. The 2021 Denim and Diamonds Sale combines the influence of the breed’s freshest, most valuable, and proven performance families with the deepest and most elite show prospects and herd sires in the country. The embryo matings and heifer pregnancies feature cutting-edge genetics that are progeny of some of the most popular champions, herd sires and donors in the industry. The herd sire candidates, open show and donor prospects, bred heifers and the flush lots are from proven genetics and donors that are second to none. You will find the influence of the breed’s most proven and influential sires, both in and out of the show ring, are especially strong in this offering. The focus of this sale remains on quality, and you will find that, like a diamond, each lot is distinctive in its own way. Please evaluate your own situation and your breeding goals, and on Thursday, January 7 please join us at 2:30 p.m. following the Junior Angus Show in the Super Barn Arena to view the cattle and enjoy refreshments, and then at 5:00 p.m. in the same arena take advantage of the knowledge and cutting-edge efforts of these breeders and their programs. Whether you are seeking your next herd sire, donor dam or your next show ring champion, you will find it among this exceptional offering. If I can be of assistance in any way, please let me know.
