I am especially excited about this year’s offering. This is the deepest offering of live cattle we have ever had in the Gathering Sale. Breeders who have attended past years’ Gathering sales have had the opportunity to see outstanding Angus cattle from herds throughout the state area. The 2015 offering consists of a young set of productive females backed by the most popular genetics in the Angus breed. We have an outstanding set of bred and open heifers along with an impressive group of spring pairs and some outstanding fall-calving heifers and cows. This sale is intended to provide a marketing outlet for the membership of the Oklahoma Angus Association, and we encourage everyone to take advantage of what has been among the top state sales anywhere in the country. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Jimmy and Selena McGuire and their crew at South River Genetics for the preparation of the new facility and for again hosting this annual event. 498 is a nice Currency daughter from I+2 I+1.8 I+51 I+101 I+25 the Bardolena 9091 cow, selling as Lot 1. Big ribbed and sound footed with a huge birth to yearling EPD spread. ■ Sells open.

The dam of Lots 1 and 2, J&J Bardolena 530, was a member of the most valuable flush ever produced at J&J Cattle Co. The four embryo sibs to 530 featured in the first J&J sale, in 2006, sold at an average price of $14,062. 530’s sibs include J&J Double Take 550, the 2006 sale topper who has gone on to be a curve-bending herd sire for both A-Cross Ranch and J&J; and J&J Bardolena 543, the high selling female in the 2006 J&J sale to the partnership of R3 Ranch and 74-51 Cattle Co. Selected by KB Cattle Co. in the J&J dispersal, 530 has done a tremendous job in production, and her progeny continue to be among the favorites in the J&J and KB herds. Her dam, PF E161 Bardolena 3153, was the high selling cow in the 2007 J&J sale. In the spring 2014 Texas Limited Edition Sale, two maternal sisters to Lots 1 and 2 by First Impression sold for $13,000 to Jaryn Frey and for $10,750 to Matthew Lockaby. Jaryn’s heifer went on to be a Division Champion at the 2014 National Junior Angus Show.
