We would like to welcome you to the 26th annual Pollard Farms female sale on Saturday, September 16th.

We have assembled an outstanding offering of proven donor cows, elite donor prospects from both the fall and spring breeding programs. We believe what will captivate the most excitement in this elite offering are the first set of females and breeding service of the $400,000 valued EXAR Cover the Bases 0819B! This bull moves the needle from a phenotype standpoint and has an impressive +1.96 Marb. EPD. There will be a tremendous set of fall calving females that were selected right from the heart of our program, and still are in the prime of their productive life. Most of these females will sell with AI sired calves at side, and we feel as if this set is on the leading edge of fresh genetic progress that will perform in any operation across the country.

We always use the tools provided to us by the American Angus Association, and you will see every animal offered will be parentage verified and will have genomically enhanced EPDs. We also plan to be diligent in providing you that information on the baby calves at sale time. Welcome to the Twenty-Sixth Annual Pollard Farms Sale. It is my honor to continue to assist in the marketing of the Pollard Farms program, and I want to sincerely thank Dr. Barry and Roxanne Pollard for the opportunity to work with them and their crew. I want to thank Jeremy Leister, Lacey Taylor, Dusty Choate, and Colton Blanchard for their hard work and help in preparing for this year’s sale offering and look forward to working with this great group of people going forward.

Dr. Pollard and the Pollard Farms staff have worked tirelessly to breed, produce and present this phenomenal set of females, and I know that once you see them, you will agree that this offering is their best to date, particularly in the group of nonparent females that sell as open donor prospects, bred heifers, and fall calving two-year-olds. I think when you analyze the averages of the different contemporary groups in this offering compared to breed average for those same groups, you will see that the twenty-sixth Pollard Farms female sale offering supersedes breed average by quite a margin for virtually every trait, with an average $C Value of +302 on the 129 head of weaning age and older lots in this sale book! The one thing that I think is particularly impressive is the combination of phenotype and EPD balance that is represented. It is the goal of Dr. Pollard and his crew to produce Angus cattle that are complete in their makeup…visually, numerically and genetically, and they have avoided the pitfalls of single-trait selection in doing so, as I think you will see in your evaluation of this offering.

The progress this breeding program continues to make since its inception over twenty-eight years ago is uncanny. POLLARD FARMS HERD HEALTH PROGRAM

Pollard Farms has tested BVD free. Cattle will be accompanied by proper health certificates for immediate shipment. All females born at Pollard Farms have been brucellosis vaccinated. The calves have been vaccinated with 8-way, IBR, BVD, PI3, BRSV, Lepto and Pasteurella. The bred heifers and cows have been vaccinated with 8-way, IBR, BVD, PI3, BRSV and Lepto. All animals are treated twice annually for internal and external parasites. E.T. work is performed by Ovagenix, Bryan, Texas.

Sale Terms & Conditions

All cattle are to be paid for during or immediately after the sale and will not be released until after settlement has been made. Cattle will not be transferred until paid for in full.

Guarantee

The cattle sell under Suggested Terms and Conditions of the American Angus Association (www.angus.org/Pub/suggested_sale_terms.pdf). The females have been pregnancy checked by a competent veterinarian and are called safe to the AI or pasture dates as best can be determined by advanced palpation. In respect to AI dates, they are not unconditionally guaranteed, other than the fact that they are pregnant.

Registration Certificates

Animals will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense. Each buyer must be sure to give the sale clerk the proper name and address for making transfers. All calves born before the sale are to be registered by the seller; proper breeding certificates will be signed for the buyer to use in registering calves born after the sale.
