The Red Angus breed has continued is unprecedented growth for a variety of reasons: exceptional carcass merit and opportunity for premiums at harvest, accuracy of EPDs, and adding value to commercial cross breeding systems. However, we feel the most important reason to be using Red Angus genetics is the momma cow. Her ability to calve easy, keep her ﬂesh, breed back in a timely manner, and then still push the scales at weaning time is what has solidiﬁed the breed’s place in second amongst all others in America.

Our first and highest priority when making selection decisions is on the female. If we didn’t feel that these bulls’daughters could work in any part of the country, they would not be on offer. It is the cow family behind the bull that separates the average from the best. We have continued to build a breeding program based around some of the most proven maternal genetics that North America has to offer.

I would like to point out that many of bulls in the offering are embryo transfer calves. I have identified those in the footnotes. Please keep in mind that the actual BWs on those individuals are not indicative of their true genetics, and more indicative of their recipient mother’s birthweight tendencies. Also, the Red Angus EPDs have been modified slightly since last year. The EPDs themselves have not changed, just the breed averages for a handful of traits. Because of this, it is continually important to measure a bull’s value based on the percentile ranking of whichever EPD is being evaluated.

We will, however, being oﬀering a $100 cash discount to anyone wanting to take his or her bull home directly after the sale. We will deliver bulls free of charge up to 300 miles. After 300 miles, standard trucking rates will apply. If the buyer is unable to take their purchase on sale day, we will board the bulls free of charge until April 15. A $50 discount will be given for any bull taken home sale day.

Here’s a really high growth bull that has performed as well phenotypically as his EPDs projected. The ﬁrst of a handful of bulls to sell that were purchased as cow calf pairs from the Klein Red Angus dispersal in Burwell, NE. Very similar pedigrees in that cowherd to what we have been focusing on, but what hit me the hardest about that set of cows was the excellent udder structure across the board. This bull has a very strong maternal foundation with the combination of soldier and redman, but even just as important is the lineage back to the Faye 2212 cow. The entire Klein program was built around her for a reason. This bull should work on larger framed heifers. Neither does the seller, auction facility, or sale manager assume liability for the loss or injury to livestock due to theft, mysterious disappearance, sickness, improper handling or Act of God. It is to be clearly understood that the sale manager and its representatives act only as a medium between the buyer and the seller. They are not responsible in any way for the failure on the part of the buyer and seller to live up to their obligations or for the truth of any warranties or representation, express or implied. Neither does the sale manager assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of monies between parties. Any legal action, that may in exceptional cases be taken, must be between the buyer and the seller. This catalog has been prepared by the Sale Manager from pedigrees and information supplied by sources deemed reliable, however, the sale manager will in no way guarantee the pedigree, percentages of the animals selling, or data included in this catalog. Any exceptions taken are between the buyer and the seller. CONTRACT: The above terms and conditions of sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller of each animal and shall be equally binding upon both. Each sale or resale of an animal constitutes a separate transaction.
