Harness the power of print and digital combined Regardless of what you may have heard or read, print has far from lost its power. Recent studies* have shown that magazine advertising is not only the most influential medium but also the most undervalued relative to its effectiveness. Global Solar Technology magazine reaches over 10,000 industry professionals across the globe. The magazine is also distributed at all of the major industry trade shows. This is the kind of exposure
your corporate message is getting with Global Solar Technology magazine. In addition, for print advertisement contracts of three months or more, we can “bring your ad to life” free of charge. Simply supply us with the concept and materials and we’ll create a Flash animation that complements and works in conjunction with your full-page ad in the digital version of the magazine. We can also add video to your digital edition ad
for an additional cost. For the ultimate one-two marketing punch, we can create banner advertising for your company that ties into your print ad message. And check out at the section on eCard Decks (page 5) to learn about our cost-effective ad campaigns that send qualified leads right to your inbox.

McPheters & Company, in cooperation with Condé Nast and CBS Vision, studied the relative effectiveness of advertising in various media: television, magazines, and the Internet. A full-page, full-color print magazine ad, they found, was five times more effective than the typical Internet banner ad. And a report from the Magazine Publishers of America used data from two studies—MRI’s MediaDay study and Deloitte’s “State of the Media Democracy” survey—to compare the influence that advertising exerted on purchases compared to the share of time consumers spent with each medium. Magazines, they found, exerted 5.5 times more ad influence relative to the time spent with that medium on an average day.

The magazine Global Solar Technology magazine enters its third year in 2010. Its ten annual issues reach more than 10,000 senior managers, engineers, scientists and purchasing departments involved in photovoltaics-related manufacturing worldwide. Global Solar Technology crosses borders, cultures and time zones, reporting on the latest news and innovations around the globe. Technical Articles Each issue delivers leading edge, best-in-class technical articles that provide real manufacturing solutions for both crystalline silicon and thin film production. Case Studies A case study in the area of solar/PV manufacturing is presented in every issue. Case studies show how companies have solved production problems, improved their processes, increased the efficiency of their products and lowered cost. Industry Trade Show & Conference Coverage All of the biggest PV trade shows are covered, with pre-show previews highlighting some of the best technology coming to the exhibition floors and post-show round-ups of the best we saw while walking the floors. Interviews Candid interviews with industry leaders are featured in every issue. Discussions with industry leaders provide an unbiased view of your industry’s growth opportunities.
Digital Edition Each print magazine is republished online with page-turning, bookmarking and notetaking capability. Notifications are sent to our digital subscribers when a new issue goes up, and the digital edition is also promoted in the e-magazines, giving your print advertisement the widest possible exposure. Online advertising Online advertising puts your company in front of readers on a continuous basis It’s said that readers need to see an ad repetitively before a message can begin to be effective. Online advertising puts your message in front of the reader time and again—on every page he clicks through and in every e-magazine that reaches his inbox—at a very reasonable cost. Global Solar Technology offers ad space on all of our websites and newsletters. Standard banner sizes are 468 x 60, 120 x 120, 120 x 240 and 120 x
International Website globalsolartechnology.com was receiving as many as 25,000 visits a month—before we overhauled the site for 2010. New features like the Knowledge Exchange, where readers are invited to ask and respond to questions about processes, defects, equipment and more, and the Process Areas/Special Topics sections, which compile all of the articles, news, videos, manufactures and more that we have related to specific manufacturing topics, are sure to not only increase readership but keep readers coming back on a regular basis. Check it out for yourself!

360 pixels. This year we also introduce the attention-getting 300 x 250 pixel banner ad, perfect for Flash, video or just an eye-catching display ad. If your banner advertising isn’t performing as well as you’d like or if you’re unsure of what to put in a banner
ad, our team can work with yours to create an effective 3-step digital ad campaign that raises curiosity, creates a need and delivers leads directly to your inbox. This 3-step campaign is available at no extra charge with digital ad space orders of three months or more. Contact your sales rep for the cost of this package for one- or two-month insertions.

This isn’t just another feed of our website content—the Twitter account is personally maintained by managing editor Heather Lackey throughout each business day. Knowledge Exchange
NEW!
Users helping users. If you’ve seen Yahoo Answers and similar sites, then you already know what this is: visitors to globalsolartechnology.com, most of them working directly in the solar/PV manufacturing industry, are able to post questions—about processes, defects, equipment, standards, etc.—and other site visitors can provide answers.
Directories 2.0
NEW!
How useful are online directories? Do engineers use them they way they would the Yellow Pages? How about if the directory was tightly integrated into information resources. That’s what the new Process Areas and Special Topics sections of the globalsolartechnology.com website offer. Users click on a topic—Line/ Process Optimization, for example—and they’re presented with technical articles, white papers, industry news, Knowledge Exchange questions and videos related to the topic, along with a list of manufacturers offering related products and services. Click to view a manufacturer and you’ll get information about the company, along with all the news, videos and technical content we have for them. For a premium, manufacturers can upload their own videos, photos and other documents—product literature, PowerPoint presentations, whatever they want to make available to potential customers. Manufacturers are also able to add their distributors—and distributors
Spotlight: eCard Decks Generate real leads using our new monthly eCard Deck, based on traditional post card decks but distributed by email. Readers click on offers that interest them, which takes them to an information page where they can find data sheets or photos and tick a box for more information to be sent. The reader’s details are then sent to the advertisers for follow up. Advertisers are also able to access these leads online. And we promise you—the leads do come in!
