This year we have installed the bathroom in a special area behind the main hall, see plan for access.

DOG SITTER

Bring your dog, together with his cage and our professional Dog Sitter will take care of your dogs while you attend seminars, compete in the competition or go to the party on Friday evening. The Dog Sitter can be found in the reception area in a separate room. This service costs €2 per dog per hour, there is no need to pre-register. It is absolutely forbidden to leave any dog in any vehicle at any time during Groomania. MODEL DOG REPLAY STUDENT

We have launched this category to give the student the opportunity to compete and give all competitors an equal and fair chance of winning in this competition. In this class the student needs to have the intention to use their artistic abilities to create the most accurate and exact profile of any chosen breed. Colouring of the fur is allowed, but only according to the breeds’ standard and within the time period of the competition. To compete in this category the student must be registered in a grooming school and we need proof of registration in your school in 2016 or 2017. (send to info@groomania.be after you have made your registration). The price to compete in this category is including the model dog with the coat. All dogs must be brushed and be ready to scissor prior the competition.

NEW - SOLO CLIPPERS COMPETITION

This is a challenge for the trendy groomers who can style any breed using only clippers. The hair may be lifted with combs or fingers and any kind of clippers with or without snap on combs is allowed. Scissors are not allowed during this competition, after the competition ends the competitors can have 10 minutes to use the scissors for tidying and finishing touches. You will be disqualified if you use the scissors during the competition! (Open to all breeds)

The Best Groomer will win a trip to the Superzoo grooming competition and pet trade show in LAS VEGAS and is sponsored by Superzoo and Transgroom. Return flights will be paid by Transgroom and Superzoo will offer 4 nights hotel accommodation with free entry to the show, the educational seminars and competition registration. The Best all round Groomer is the individual competitor who by winning in the 4 official categories gains the most points. In all categories the judging system is based on points. Each judge awards the competitors 10 points for the first place, 8 points for the second, 6 points for the third and 4 points for the fourth in each class.

Après Groom Workshop

APRÈS GROOM WORKSHOP

This workshop will give all the participants who competed in the beginner’s class on Friday morning and who are not selected for the finals the opportunity to improve their work and be coached by top groomers. This year you they will be coached by Ferruccio Soave, Roman Fomin and Umberto Lehmann. For each participant, a master groomer will improve your competition dog one to one and show you how you can correct your style and how to improve your finishing touch and all this is totally free of charge. How does it work? You come with your competition dog from your beginner’s class on Friday morning to the seminar room at 3pm. After a thorough explanation you get to work with one of the Champions. They correct a part of your dog and show you how they would do it. Afterwards, you can groom on another section copy as closely as possible this in your own time and space in your home. Do not hesitate and register now places are limited.

After his studies this amazing artist Fan Yu started his career as a Professional Handler, Groomer and Sculptor in 2002. He won his first BIS in 2003 in a dog show in China and continued gaining experience in the art of grooming, he worked in different pet shops, kennels and for many breeders. In the meanwhile he worked for a the professional Dog magazine as an editor and published articles about breed standards, show dog grooming and show handling. After he started the world famous Fan’s Kennel and worked as all breed handler and groomer, he broke all Chinese records by winning the most ever multiple BIS and won an amazing list of titles with different breeds. He became the assistant of the famous American professional handler Bill McFadden, and joined so many Big Shows in the USA. Aside and in addition to the dog show and as an artist Fan Yu was creating many dog sculptures. With his amazing talent he created many big sculptures for many important dog shows BIS prizes all over the world. In the recent years, Fan Yu committed himself to teach and give grooming demos in China, Russia and Spain.

Ellen started grooming in 1982 and opened her first grooming salon Farouche in 1987 in Delft. She has been very active at grooming championships and has earned a number of titles amongst which: Global Groomer (grooming of different breeds) at All American Grooming in Chicago in ’93, a 1st place with a Portuguese Waterdog (PWD) at Eurogroom in ’98 and a 3rd place with a PWD at Intergroom in 2000. Ellen is an all-round groomer with a special place in her heart for the PWD, the breed she fell in love with in ’95. In ’99 she started her kennel called American Dancer’s and since then she has bred many champions. Ellen has been very successful with this breed winning multiple best in shows, best breed at Crufts and the Topdog competition in Germany (all breeds). Today Ellen is running Groomingsalon Farouche & Waterdogs the grooming salon/kennel in Ooltgensplaat and she is still active in dog shows, always looking out for more success.

Laetitia has been a professional successful groomer since 2001 and has been the manager of her own grooming salon in the 12th district of Paris since 2008. Since 2000 she is a proud breeder of Lakeland Terriers with her Kennel name “Cheston”. Laetitia has taken part in many international competitions and has won a nice collection of medals in various classes. Best in Show on two consecutive editions of Milan Groom. Once with an American Cocker in 2008 and with a Lakeland in 2010. European champion in 2008, ranked second in the 2009 world championship in group with a Kerry blue and world champion in 2011 with a Lakeland. She was a three-time semi-finalist at the Oster trophy of which twice with her Lakelands. Furthermore, Laetitia has competed in the National Elevage of terriers in 2014 and puppy poodles in 2015. His many wins included best in shows and the International Groomer of the year title. Richard was a kind, thoughtful and extremely intelligent man with a wonderful sense of humour and great enthusiasm for everything he did. It was a privilege to have known Richard Barker, his infectious humour will be long remembered and he is sadly missed by all his friends around the world. The special Richard Barker commemorative Trophy will be awarded to the best groomer, chosen by Mrs. Linda Barker or by a friend chosen by Linda. This trophy will be given to the Best Groomer, according to Mrs. Linda Barker or Richards’ closest friends. The cup itself will be engraved and must be returned before Groomania 2018.

In 2001 she was working in a kennel in Italy preparing dogs for show rings and simultaneously grooming all breeds in a grooming shop. These were really useful experiences and it gave her the knowledge to go on winning many prizes in grooming competitions in the hand stripping class and scissoring class in Moscow, Kiev and St. Petersburg. Also, she won vice best in show in with a Gordon setter in Kiev. For Olga, it’s important to work with the fastest technique and the best material and in the least amount of time possible.Then, thanks to Kitty Dekeersgieter, came the idea to start styling dogs with only clippers, NO SCISSORS INVOLVED. At first this seemed impossible but 1 year later Olga has managed to take on all kinds of breeds. The live streaming of showing this technique has made her more well known and this even worldwide. The styling with clippers makes finishing of long coats very neat and crisp but natural and this neat finish also stays in shape for a longer period of time.

4 GROOMING USING ONLY CLIPPERS

Olga is very passionate about finding new ways to do perfect styling and winning time. One of her specialties is styling free hand with the clippers. She only uses a simple comb as an additional tool or just her fingers and clips away to get the perfect and quick commercial style she wants, this is an amazing craft. DON’T miss this demo. Since 2015 Yang is teaching dog grooming in live telecasting in China and has thousand followers, he also passed the qualification for Groom team China exams. Yang is one of the main teachers in Shanghai Dingxin pet cosmetology school since 2014 and has taught thousands of students. He passed his tests as professional groomer by FCI certification and won his first prize in July 2014.

Roman is a very famous Russian groomer, his style of working is characterized by an individual creative approach. Roman achieved a high level as a professional groomer and handler. His name is associated with successes at dog shows of the highest rank. Roman began to take part in grooming competitions since 1999. He started with a victory at the first grooming competition held in Russia. In 2000 Roman was a finalist at the most prestigious grooming championship: «Oster Invitational Tournament of Champions», which took place in Berlin, as well as at “Milan Groom”, held in Italy. In 2002 Roman won silver medal at the international grooming competition Intergroom. Today Roman is one of the most famous professional groomers of different breeds. He’s the owner of several professional grooming schools and he organizes master classes as well as seminars.

Pia learned a lot about the breed by working at one of the most successful English Setter Kennels in Europe. In the fields she won best Gordon Setter in 9 consecutive years, best Working Gordon Setter in 7 consecutive years and best junior Gordon Setter in Switzerland 1 year. Nowadays, Pia has 3 Gordon Setters and 1 English Setter, all of which are Multi Champions. The youngest on its way to get his international Champion Title. In competition, Pia started in the Categories Spaniel/Setter, then went on to compete in the categories Handstripping, Pure Scissoring, Poodles and got nominations in every other category. Pia is a member of the Swiss World Championship Grooming Team, in 2011 she finished second at the world championship for Spaniels and Setters, was Swiss Groomer Champion in 2010 and 2012, Swiss Vice Champion in 2011 and 3 Country Champion in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Plus Best Allrounder 2016 and 3 times Best in Show with an English Setter.

In 2015 she won the commercial class in the Swedish grooming competition. She went to Thailand to a refresh course of pet originality, carving patterns and colouring in March 2015. In 2014 she was invited by Groom Team China to do the open seminar for over 10 times in different cities in China. Sisi is the main teacher for grade B students in Shanghai Dingxin pet cosmetology school since 2014 and has taught thousands of students.
