The Cavalier is a breed that has become very popular over the last years. Ferriccio notices this clearly in the grooming Shop. Cavaliers come in different colours, coat structures and sizes, but one thing always remains the same: their treatment has to occur as natural as possible. Ferriccio will explain how you can realize this. Questions as : “How can you style the Cavalier as natural as possible”?, “How do you minimize the use of scissors?”, “The difference between domestic- and show dog”, “The difference between short and long coat”… will certainly be answered. When grooming a Cavalier, you certainly mustn’t forget the communication between the customer and groomer, since every Cavalier is different. The treatment must be adjusted to this communication to make every Cavalier look fabulous.

In his palmers he has many titles like BOB, BOG and BIS winners and also European and world winner. In 2012 he started to work in his wife’s grooming salon and decided to try to participate in grooming competitions: medals arrive immediately including also BIS. In only 3 years he arrived to be one of the members of the Italian team at world team grooming championships. In 2015 he won the title of World Champion Groom Team with his team members. He is now actually practicing to become EGA judge in the stripping the class.

Rony De Munter is a world famous breeder, groomer and handler of Fox Terriërs. With his unique breeding line and kennel “Van Foliny Home” he created a top level bloodline with world class. After having won a lot of titles here and abroad, he won ‘Best Terriër’ of the group with one of his dogs at Crufts 2014 and competed at the same show for ‘Best in Show’. Rony also gives coarses about terriërs and teaches groomers in many different schools in Belgium. He is a famous all round jury member at grooming events. Not only Rony but also his partner Dieny Uiterwijk has won ‘Best in Show’ in the past at the world famous dog show Crufts.

MODELDOG KIDS COMPETITION

Thanks to Transgroom 15 children will have the chance to have fun and let themselves go in the Model Dog for Kids competition. We are offering the chance to experience competition grooming for real. Brushing, combing and cutting with a real scissor (with parental supervision for the youngest!) The kids can let their fantasies run wild, everything is allowed! Are you a groomer & would you like to help? We are looking for volunteer groomers to help the kids in this super fun competition. For this competition the model dogs should be completely brushed out before the competition starts at 9am on Sunday morning. The kids then have from 9 to 11.30 am to finish their dogs. Important: this competition takes place under the supervision of the parents, the organizers decline responsibility in the event of accidents.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS

All participants who have never won a gold medal and with a maximum of 2 years experience. The winner of the gold medal will not be allowed to participate in this class next time. All categories possible- only one possible placement.

BATHING AREA

We have a completely installed bathroom at your disposal which is open from 7 am to 6 pm. Don’t forget to bring your own towels and please clean up after yourself.

DINNER & DANCE SATURDAY FROM 7:30 PM

Richard Barker was universally admired and loved by all who knew him and regarded him as a friend. He was a multiple grooming contest winner. His many wins included best in shows and the International Groomer of the year title. Richard was a kind, thoughtful and extremely intelligent man with a wonderful sense of humour and great enthusiasm for everything he did. It was a privilege to have known Richard Barker, his infectious humour will be long remembered and he is sadly missed by all his friends around the world. The special Richard Barker commemorative Trophy will be awarded to the best groomer, chosen by Mrs. Linda Barker or by a friend chosen by Linda. This trophy will be given to the Best Groomer, according to Mrs. Linda Barker or Richards’ closest friends. The cup itself will be engraved and must be returned before Groomania 2017.
