This dish is simple—there’s a little ranchera sauce, lettuce, but what will blow your taste buds away is that it’s loaded up with two (yes, two) chile rellenos and then poof! On April 2, 2016, The Killers took center stage to one of the largest, loudest crowds at Harrah’s Resort SoCal. Considered a top group of the 21st Century, this chart-topping rock band attracts die-hard fans, especially in Funner, CA, where concert goers lined up as early as 8am to get in to The Events Center.

In true Harrah’s Resort SoCal fashion, the team shook things up by changing the lighting design in The Events Center, and making it the first General Admission show ever. The results were a sold out concert, and the best audience participation in history. With a packed house like that, its no wonder The Killers have sold over 25 million albums.

BOB DYLAN When Bob Dylan plays, people listen—especially, when the music legend settled into Harrah’s Resort So Cal for an epic performance on October 13, 2017.

The singer–poet–Noble Prize-winner played classic hits like “Why to Change Me Now” and “Like a Rolling Stone.” Especially moving was the timing, as this was one of Bob Dylan’s first performances since winning the Nobel Peace Prize for literature in 2016.

SNOOP DOGG AND MIKE EPPS From the drop of the first beat, everyone’s hands were up in the air as Snoop and Mike Epps doubled down on the double G. It was on April 29, 2010 when the father of hip-hop teamed up with comedian–actor Michael Epps for a oneof-a-kind comedy rap tour. WILLIE NELSON Country-music legend Willie Nelson is a familiar face in Funner, CA. He has delivered multiple performances over the years at Harrah’s Resort SoCal but the most exciting was his outdoor performance in the Open Sky Theater. The 2008 show was part of the Harrah’s Resort SoCal Summer Series and drew a crowd of over 4,000 excited fans. The show was held in the South parking lot and Willie’s infamous tour bus was parked right behind the stage so concert goers could see it for themselves. As always his set included favorites like “Whiskey River,” “On The Road Again” and “Always On My Mind.” The crowd was thrilled to see this legend perform and female fans were even throwing bras on stage during the show!

On May 18, 2017, David Hasselhoff was inaugurated as the first mayor of Funner, CA. But the fun and festivities didn’t end when the last dove was released into the skies above the new city. Since that day, the mayor has been doing more than shaking hands. The Supreme Leader and face of fun, Mayor Hoff has been on a mission both inside and outside the walls of Harrah’s Resort SoCal. If you didn’t get a chance to catch his count down on New Year’s Eve or belting out Bing Crosby, here’s a rundown of the mayor’s movements around town.

DOLING OUT THE DOLLAR BILLS What’s Funner than winning a million dollars?

Receiving a million-dollar check from the Knight Rider himself. As the clock counted down to the close of the year, on December 31 Jorge B. became 2017’s Year of the Millionaire winner. His monumental prize was handed over by the mayor.

“As the mayor of Funner I was thrilled to give away such an amazing prize. It was quite a night to celebrate!” said Hoff.

In addition to passing over the giant check, the mayor returned to stage just before the stroke of midnight to count down to the new year.

SERVING UP SMILES When the mayor is in town, he definitely makes a point to put the Fun in Funner, CA. Baked in fun in the Buffet. And poolside he posted up in his usual spot (he’s a former Baywatch lifeguard you know). And of course, after all that hard work, the mayor deserved a little relaxation and pampering in his favorite spot, The Spa at Harrah’s.

SAVING HIS SPOT Sometimes the mayor was called out of town on business, so he needed a good deputy to keep an eye on things. To help ensure the fun-o-meter was always amped up, Mayor Hoff relied on his trusty deputy K.I.T.T. to step in for him. Much to the delight of guests, the Knight Rider’s trusty ride was occasionally found in the Resort Lobby, keeping his dry wit and keen eye on point.

Hyde grew up in Northern Idaho on the Nez Perce Reservation. The lore of his Nez Perce, Assiniboine and Chippewa ancestry came to him from his grandfather and other elders.

They carefully instructed him through the vast Native American legends of animal characters, the morals of his people, as well as the ways of Mother Earth and the creation of mankind.

Today, Hyde expresses this mythology and spirit through his artwork.

I had some good teachers once I got to the Institute. They allowed you to work in a lot of different fields, so you could choose what direction you wanted to go in art. I originally went there for painting.”

Hyde officially began his artistic career in 1963 as a stone sculptor, a path he followed for 25 years. He started dabbling in bronze sculptures around the same time. “I really enjoy working with stones because each one is so different.

Alongside the breeding program, NBN makes monetary donations to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (ICUN)—a group that tracks population statistics of animals worldwide.
