INTRODUCING A GOLDEN AGE IN FUNNER, CA WITH MAYOR

Two years into establishing itself as the city where fun lives, Funner, CA is ushering in a new leader. The citizens of Funner looked high and low for a candidate who isn’t afraid to look boredom in the face and say, “Not on my watch.” A leader who would take charge, take action and raise the already high bar on what good times can and should look like. On May 15, 2019, under the Funner flag, Mayor Rob Riggle raised his right hand and swore the oath of Funner. The setting was glorious. Media gathered out at the pool to witness the
event first hand. A delectable menu inspired by the mayor himself was presented, and the event was draped in gold and turquoise. Majestic golden eagles were perched throughout to add a regal touch to the event. The new mayor graciously accepted the key to the city from Tribal Councilman Bo Mazetti and Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Resort SoCal, Darrell Pilant. Now the fun really begins. Actor, comedian and retired United States Marine, you may know Rob Riggle from his work on Saturday

What were your first thoughts when you learned you had been chosen as the new mayor of Funner, California? I was very concerned about staying up 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. I’ve never attempted that before, so it has me a little nervous. What inspired you to get into politics? It was an accident. I was just trying to get a library card in Funner, California. I filled out the wrong form, and next thing I know—I’m the mayor. Wow, that’s an interesting way to wake up one morning. You’re telling me! In your commercials, we got a glimpse of a guest star—an Alpaca you called Albert. Is it true the alpaca is man’s best friend? You’re referring to the diva alpaca they called Albert, who we barely got out of his trailer long enough to come do the commercials when he wasn’t having a fit. Oh, by the way—his real name is not Albert, it’s Blaze. The producers had to coax him out, he was knocking over things, eating everything at Craft Services and then he’d just walk out. And that was after he pooped on the floor. He was a handful. Checking out the commercial magic.
