SUSTAINABILITY YOU CAN TASTE!
The first weekend of October marked the 7th Annual Taste of Oceanside Event, and 2nd Annual Taste of Oceanside VIP Party, hosted by MainStreet Oceanside. The Green Oceanside team partnered with MainStreet Oceanside and sponsored both events to assist with the event’s zero waste goals by forgoing the typical single-use plastic forks, spoons, and cups normally found in the thousands at many events, and replacing them with reusables for each participant. This prevented more than 25,000 single-use utensils and over 10,000 single-use plastic cups from going into the landfill! By choosing reusables for this event, precious natural resources like water, oil, and energy are preserved for future generations, and less waste will find its way to the landfill, our waterways or the ocean. 14
