LastThursday(June29), NeuronMobilitylaunched itselectricvehiclesinthe neighbourhoodaspart ofan18-monthcitymicro-mobilitypilotproject withanothercitypartner: Lime.

Neuronhaditsfull fleet—300e-Scootersand 100e-Bikes—outforthe CanadaDaylongweekend.

“Ithinkit’sagreatcity todothis,”AnkushKarwal, theCanadianmarketing head,toldthe Tri-City News duringatestridelast Thursday.

“Coquitlamisoneof thefastest-growingcities inCanadaandithasa verygoodtransportation

networkwithSkyTrain andthebus.Whatweaim todoistobringpeople toandfromtheirhomes; it’scalledthefirstandlast mile.Itjustgivesthema newanddifferentmodeof transportationtogettothe transithubs.”

CoquitlamisNeuron’s 17thcityinCanadaand secondinB.C.;itsfirst provinciallywasinVernon in2021.

LastWednesday(June 28),thecompanystarted inReginaandsawsome 500ridesonDay1.“Itwas verybusyandalotoffun,” Karwalsaid.

“Stray”vehicleswillbe collectedandputback intooneofthe14parking locationsaroundCity Centre.

“Weknowallthetime whattheriderisdoing withthevehicleand whereitis,”hesaid,noting userscanbebannedfor misuse.

“Ourwholeaimisto reducecarbonemissions andmakegettingtowhere youwanttogoeasier.”
