WhileSekiAvenuewas alreadyinthecity’sStreet NamingPolicyforpre-approvedtitles,thesixothers neededcouncil’sconsent tobeusedatFraserMills, locatedatthesouthern

Counciltoldcityplannerstheywouldlikeimprovementstothepublic realmelementsthatare beingproposed,suchas tothestylized“F”gateway signandstreetfurniture likebenchesandtrash

TheFraserMillssawmill operatedfrom1890to 2005.

PaulRockwood,thecity’s generalmanageroffinance andtechnology,saidthe requestsolicitedthreeapplicants.
Inthemeantime,thepreviouscouncildecidedthe buildingneededimmediateattentiontoaddressdeficiencies identifiedinanengineering assessmentcompletedin2020.

Thisinaridingwherethe ConservativePartyhasnoteven fieldedacandidateinanelectionfor morethan20years.
ThisstrongConservativeshowing, combinedwiththetepidBCUnited support,mustbeofconcernforthe partythatistryingtorebuildthe
so-called“freeenterprisecoalition” thatwastheBCLiberalPartyand beforethattheSocialCreditParty formorethan60years(47ofthemin government).
ItseemsobvioustheBCUnited brandhasnotresonatedwiththe votersyet,whichisnottheleast bitsurprising.Rebrandingamajor brand—whetheritisapolitical partyoranymajorcompany—takes timeandBCUnitedhasbeeninexistenceasapoliticalbrandonlyfora fewmonths.
Thebyelectionsmarkedthefirst timethatBCUnitedappearedon aballot,givingvotersachoiceto voteforit.Just2,266votersoptedto dothatbetweenthetworidings,a
declineofabout4,500votersfrom whatitsprecursor,theBCLiberal Party,receivedinthe2020general election.

Withhiswife,Sandra,byhis side,Demoskoffwasanesthetizedthentakentoanoperating roomwhileateamofsurgeons carefullycutoutabout65per centofhisliver,therightlobe, whiletherestwaslefttore-grow, aprocessthatwilltakeafew months.
Onceremovedfrom Demoskoff’sopenchest,the surgeonsworkedontheliverin preparationfortransplantwhile Kevinwaitedinotheroperating roomwithanotherteamofsurgeonsforthehealthyliver.

Brianwasalsoaresearcher,interestedin genealogy.Hefollowedhisfamilytreeon bothsidesofthefamily,andononesidehe traceditbackto1648ortengenerations. Withhisartisticdesignskillsherecordedand laidoutanamazingamountoffamilystories, photographsandhistory.Hesharedthese withhisrelatives,preservingandpassing onthefamilyheritagesoitwouldnotbe forgotten.
Brianwasalsoacrossbordershopper,and heboughthisgasbythegallon.Hepreferred countryroads,andthequietlessurbanareas
ofWashingtonstate.Helikedcharacterhomes orbuildingsfromanearlierera.Brianloved theocean.Hewouldhavelovedtolivein theUSAandforthelastfewyearsheowned ahomeinBirchBaywherehelovedtostay. Brianwasalwaysdesigninghisdreamhome orwantingtomoveaheritagehome,andthis washisdreamuntiltheend.
