NEWS AND NOTES
JUST KEEP WINNING, JUST KEEP WINNING UNCW has won its first seven CAA games for the first time since 2016-17, when the Seahawks opened their conference schedule 9-0 and would finish the regular season 15-3 on their way to a secondstraight CAA title. The Seahawks have won 10 straight dating back to December 15 - tied for the third-longest streak nationally - and UNCW’s longest run since the 2015-16 season. AARON’S PARTY Hofstra’s Aaron Estrada has risen to the ranks of the CAA’s leading scorer during a remarkable offensive stretch. Estrada has scored 20 or more points in six of seven conference games, highlighted by 30-point efforts in wins over Delaware and Charleston. Estrada leads the CAA with 23.9 points per game in conference contests. WELCOME TO THE CAA! The CAA announced the additions of Hampton, Monmouth, and Stony Brook as full members of the league for the 2022-23 season on Tuesday. The Pirates join from the Big South, the Hawks from the MAAC, and the Seawolves from the America East. All three played at least one CAA team in this year’s non-conference schedule.
