New Season... Some Changes Happy Fall! We hope everyone is enjoying the colors and beauty of the season!
We wanted to provide an update regarding the senior coordinator position. The Inver Grove Heights City Council and School District #199 School Board recently approved a 55 + Adult Services Agreement. This agreement will allow the City and School District to share a full-time Recreation Coordinator position that will work with the seniors and the senior club for 25 hours a week in providing quality and innovative programming. Fifteen (15) hours of this staff person’s time will also be responsible for overseeing other recreation programs through the City’s Parks and Recreation Department. This new position will continue to support all of the activities and events of the senior center as well as expand programming into new areas. The person will be a City of Inver Grove Heights employee and will be overseen by the Parks and Recreation Department. The position will be advertised in October with interviews taking place in October and November and the approval of the selected candidate will occur in mid December. It’s our hope to have the new coordinator start January 3, 2017. We look forward to this new position and are confident it will be able to continue to provide the programs, services and facility that you need, want and enjoy! We are excited about the new opportunity to expand and grow the programs as well. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel to contact one of us. Thank you for your patience during the interim time and a huge thank you to Barb Eschle for all of her hard work and new ideas during this transition period.

“You Can’t Take it With You” At first the Sycamores seem mad, but it is not long before we realize that if they are mad, the rest of the world is madder. In contrast to these delightful people are the unhappy Kirbys. The plot shows how Tony, attractive young son of the Kirbys, falls in love with Alice Sycamore and brings his parents to dine at the Sycamore home on the wrong evening. The shock sustained by the Kirbys, who are invited to eat cheap food, shows Alice that marriage with Tony is out of the question. The Sycamores, however, though sympathetic to Alice, find it hard to realize her point of view.
