Bandana Bracelets

Everyone loves receiving a card. Join us to make a variety of colorful holiday cards to give to friends and family. Cost of materials is included in the fee. No cost for caregivers to assist. Instructor: Patty Krause

Bandana bracelets are a great accessory for both guys and girls. They come in a variety of colors and are very easy to make. Making bandana bracelets can be a fun, easy project to make while hanging with friends! Instructor: Patty Krause

Walking Buddies Join us for some holiday fun with your friends! We will be decorating classic sugar cookies with icing and/or sprinkles. Come decorate a valentine treat to share. Directions will be broken down into simple steps and no prior knowledge is needed. Please feel free to bring a plastic container to bring home your cookies. No cost for caregivers. Come hang out with your friends and get fit at the same time. We’ll be walking the halls of Henry Sibley High School for a low impact workout. You’ll receive a walking button that you’ll also be able to use at Simley High School, South St. Paul High School and Veterans Memorial Community Center for indoor walking through the Spring of 2017. The indoor walking times are Monday- Thursday from 6-9 PM (VMCC hours are 7 am- 2 pm in the West Rink.) Caregivers must also register to participate.

ACCESS PROJECT PROGRAM INFORMATION

• Photo Waiver: Photographs, videos and other documentation taken at school or Community Education activities may be submitted to newspapers, used on district website, social media sites or appear in publications. Check the box in the registration form if you do not want pictures published. • These activities have been customized for adults with disabilities. • Besides Branchout Hangout, pre-registration is required for all classes. Please return the registration form or call 651-403-8313 to register. • Please indicate any accommodations needed to effectively participate when registering for an activity. • Participants who require one-on-one personal attention for physical and/or behavior issues or medication administration must be supervised by a caregiver. If a behavioral incident occurs, a caregiver may be required to accompany the participant to all future activities. • Classes will be held at the date, time and location listed unless you are notified that they are canceled, changed or full. • Transportation to and from activities is the responsibility of the participant or caregiver, unless otherwise noted in program description. • Participants must be accompanied to the classroom and should check in no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the listed start time and should be picked up promptly at the listed end time. If participants are not picked up promptly, a caregiver may be required to accompany the participant to all future activities. • All Access Project activities are sponsored by ISD 197 so there is no tobacco or alcohol allowed. • Refunds will only be given for cancellations received seven days before an activity.

MARCH & APRIL EVENTS Como Park Zoo Trip - All Through Africa

Join the Access Project for a unique opportunity to journey through the amazing continent of Africa right in Saint Paul at the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory! From snow covered mountains to dusty, hot deserts, Africa is an amazingly diverse continent. Learn about the African landscape and the habitats that support its animals. During class, you'll meet African animals from the desert, savanna, and rainforest. To further your adventure, an African animal adaptations checklist takes you around the zoo grounds on a safari after your class. Transportation is provided; Meet at the Branch Out Building, 150 Marie Ave E, WSP. Cost for caregivers is $5. Preregistration is required.
