(Grades 1-4) Start your chemistry career off right with Mad Science’s Crazy Chemworks. Observe chemistry that happens in the blink of an eye, learn how to work in a lab, tell the difference between acids and bases, and identify chemical reactions. At the end of each class, you’ll add to your own lab by taking home a Graduated Cylinder, Reaction Tube Kit, Action Flask, and set of Atomic Coins. (Grades K-8) GRASP is a nine-week correspondence program which helps students maintain reading and math skills on summer vacation. It should take you and your child approximately one hour per week for nine weeks to complete each weekly lesson. We suggest parents order the grade level just completed. If there are extenuating circumstances, order the level that is appropriate for your child. Prices include curriculum packet, completion awards and scoring service. Deadline to register is April 21st, 2017. GRASP books will be sent to your child’s school in May after Memorial Day.

Family Classes Family Fun with the MN Zoomobile Bring the whole family for a morning of fun and STEM learning. The MN Zoomobile will be presenting their program All Things Connected, where they’ll bring their animal friends to show families how all living things are connected to life on planet Earth. TriDistrict Service Day: Thompson Park Earth Day Clean Up
Bring the whole family on down to Thompson County Park on Earth Day to help clean up our local wild spaces. We’ll be partnering with Dakota County for a morning of fun, education and an opportunity to give back to your community. Dakota County will also have an information booth about their residential recycling and compost programs. Preregistration is appreciated to ensure enough supplies are available.
Health & Safety One Day Class! Certified Babysitter’s Training
(Ages 11+) This course is designed to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. Youth will learn skills in four core areas: leadership and professionalism, safety, basic care for infants and children and first aid. New and returning students invited. Youth Enrichment League (YEL) fencing has evolved. Olympic Coach Ro Sobalvarro now heads up YEL’s curriculum, instructor training and tournament consultation. Coach Sobalvarro brings with him an immense knowledge of youth, national and international fencing. We keep it fun, too. Dodge Nature Center Classes
After School Enrichment Classes for Garlough students
(Grades K-4) All classes will start and end at Garlough where students will be checked in and checked out of the class. The Dodge Naturalist will leave from Garlough at 2:15 to walk students to the Nature Center where classes will be held at the Farm Education Building. At 3:15 all the students will walk back with the Naturalist to Garlough where parents will pick them up by 3:30 p.m. or they will join SAC if enrolled in the program. Students should come dressed for the weather, with boots, warm clothes, or raincoats as needed. Cost: $55 for each four-week sessions
Winter Adventures
Explore the wintery world around Dodge Nature Center. Whether we’re snowshoeing in the woods, kick sledding across a frozen pond, or tracking animals in the snow, we’ll be outdoors and active.
