FOCUSING ON FAITH
AND THE FUTURE
2 | TRINITY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
The Trinity Christian Academy Foundation, under the leadership of its Board of Directors, is a non-profit corporation separate from TCA and its Board of Trustees. The primary purposes of the Foundation are to oversee the management of the endowments and participate in the allocation of the Student Tuition Aid funds. For all gifts, checks should be written to the TCA Foundation. All donations are managed separately from tuition dollars. The Foundation also actively helps the school secure planned gifts for the school’s endowments and Student Tuition Aid. The Future of TCA: Capital Improvements TCA’s new Master Campus Plan grows out of a school-wide vision to create a campus that makes a bold statement about who we are and what we value. Many of our facilities date back 40 years when TCA moved to its current location—when our enrollment was less than half the current size. The new Master Campus Plan outlines a multiple-phase plan to transform TCA’s campus into a cohesive, integrated campus. The transformation will lead up to and beyond the school’s landmark 50th anniversary in 2020. All aspects of our campus will work together in an integrated way to reinforce the TCA brand and mission and support our educational priorities. Faith We boldly ask God to provide for our every need. We pray for new buildings, programs and sustainability for years to come. “Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

ENDOWMENT INITIATIVES: $6.36 MILLION STUDENT TUITION AID: $1.2 MILLION FACILITIES ENHANCEMENT: $900,000
As a result of the improved energy stewardship practices of faculty and staff and through our partnership with Cenergistic ®, a national leader in organizational energy conservation, TCA saved $241,000 in energy costs during the 2014-15 school year and $998,739 since implementing the program in August of 2010. The school surpassed $1 million in total energy savings to date in the first month of the 2015-16 school year. These savings are due to simple conservation practices employed by faculty and staff, including turning off computer monitors when not in use, setting thermostats at an optimal temperature of 74 degrees and closing blinds to avoid heating furniture, floors and books, as well as efforts made by the school to improve the energy efficiency of facilities and equipment.

TCA gives big and gives often. We proved this on North Texas Giving Day by taking first place in the most gifts given on that day. TCA raised more than $354,500 during the one-day giving event for local charities and non-profit organizations. Every $25 donation the school received also garnered “bonus funds,” and the first $96,000 TCA received was matched dollar-for-dollar by alumni and friends. TCA had the most gifts given at 905, more than any other school on North Texas Giving Day, and was awarded $5,000 for this achievement. “I am tremendously proud to be part of a school community that is willing to partner with us to achieve our goals, and 905 donors in just 18 hours proves just how remarkable our community is,” said TCA Headmaster Dave Delph. The funds raised were used to improve campus-wide security and to support athletics through the TCA Athletic Booster Club.

HONORING THE FATHER OF STA:
BILL MILLET
Meet Bill Millet, the man behind TCA’s thriving Student Tuition Aid program. Millet created the STA program back in 1974 with just $1,850. Today the STA program raises more than $1 million each year and helps more than 120 students receive financial aid, enabling them to attend TCA. This year, the TCA Board of Trustees and Foundation Board Members honored Millet with a private ceremony for 41 years of service as a long-standing member of the school’s boards and founder of the Student Tuition Aid Program. Nearly 100 guests gathered at III Forks Steakhouse in Dallas to celebrate Millet’s decades of service and to recognize past and present trustees and foundation board members. We honor Bill Millet for creating STA, a program that has financed more than 3,500 students, which equates to approximately $15 million in funds.

Lord wanted us to be, that He would allow us to be given enough aid to build a bridge with what they were able to pay. Let me tell you, this was faith strengthening to me as a child, as well as into my teen years. The Lord heard my parents’ prayers every single year, and I was able to get a strong education that also facilitated my Christian walk with the love of our teachers and administration. Now, all these years later, I feel blessed to see my children walking the same campus I walked.” - Lisa Ramirez Thornton ’93, STA recipient and TCA Parent
