A
t Watchnight, I declared that God was calling each of us to continue going back to basics by focusing on our faith life. As God accelerates His plans for our lives and for Trinity, it is imperative that we establish firm foundations from which to launch from. For some of us, it feels as though the start of the year has chipped away at our faith. Situations and circumstances seem so bad and so impossible that we start agreeing with the facts. As a result, we have allowed despair and unbelief to overwhelm us. The fact may be that the situation looks impossible. The truth is that we serve a God of the impossible! If you and I want to walk in the supernatural and experience the miraculous, it starts by declaring the very words of God (1 Peter 4:11).
The declaration of our lips is not limited to our lives, our family, or even our nation. You and I are called to declare into the nations – a tradition that started with our first Missions Convention over 40 years ago. As you read of all our missions endeavors in 2018 (pg 48-101), be proud of everything we have done together as one church with a passionate heartbeat for the world. As our missions endeavors expand and evolve, God is calling each of us to rise to the challenge. As we get ready for Missions Convention 2019, dare to let God stretch the way you pray, give, and go. As we arise in faith together, believe for the greater breakthroughs that will soon take place. Spend today in full view of tomorrow. Declare a new beginning and embrace what God has for us in this Decade of Expansion!
As you read the prophetic word for the year (pg 32), let it birth in you a conviction to declare the truth. As we build our faith life, allow God to use the fire of our trials to refine us and make us stronger. Forge forward by declaring His truth into our situations and circumstances.

IN DECEMBER, TRINITARIANS TOOK UP THE CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE TO BE A BLESSING TO OIKOS, PREPARING HEARTS FOR THE ARRIVAL OF THE KING.
THE 20 DAY CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE Many took up the 20 Day Christmas Challenge by praying for open hearts and open heavens, blessing oikos with Care Acts, and inviting people to our Christmas events.
ISLAND-WIDE CHRISTMAS PARTY In acts of incredible unity, Trinitarians came together as carecells and ministries to host 209 Christmas parties throughout the island. In merry times of fun and feasting, 1,897 oikos experienced the love and power of God through the sharing of testimonies and the Gospel. Together, we had the opportunity to lead 171 people to make decisions for Christ!

The members showed so much unity and enthusiasm to host the party. Our oikos enjoyed the games and the fellowship. Though some were shy to make decisions that night, I could sense that they were touched by the testimonies and Gospel message.
On the day of our party, the rain was very heavy and many oikos shared that they might not be able to come. We were not discouraged. We prayed and thank God that our carecell had given our best in planning for the party. Some even re-scheduled existing commitments to be there. God is so good. Eight oikos came and there was even one decision for Jesus!

Every member put their hands to the plough to organize the party, including three new-joiners. They were especially enthusiastic and contributed much, including sharing their testimonies and inviting oikos. I can see that the carecell has grown in unity and have a sense of achievement. It was also the first time we had a father-child testimony. Indeed, we have a child evangelist in the making!

I thank God for everyone’s active involvement and unity in praying, inviting, and SALTing. Together, we led eight people to make decisions this Christmas. All glory to God!

This was our carecell’s first Christmas party and every member contributed to make it possible. Many oikos came and enjoyed the activities. May this be the beginning of breakthroughs for our carecell as we look forward to a fruitful 2019.

THE ARRIVAL With more than 485 hours of preparation over six months, 300 cast and crew presented a spectacular Christmas cantata and drama, The Arrival, from December 21-24.
Being part of the orchestra was such a humbling and inspiring experience. Witnessing people coming to the altar to receive Christ was unforgettable and uplifting. Truly, all of our efforts were worth it because we were doing it for God’s Kingdom!
10,543 people (including 520 first-time visitors) were given the opportunity to experience Christmas as a celebration of the Word becoming flesh. Coupled with Pastor Eveleen Ng’s message of the promise of Christmas, as well as a beautiful rendition of “Manger of My Heart,” we are grateful for the opportunity to lead 169 people to make decisions for Christ.

FAMILY CHRISTMAS It was a glorious Christmas morning as Trinitarians young and old filled the Sanctuary for Family Christmas. Pastor Victor Toh led the congregation in worship with “Emmanuel,” voices declaring God is indeed always with us. Lead Pastor Dominic Yeo shared a powerful word on the need to realign our posture and respond to God by embracing His affirmation, surrendering in worship, and allowing Him to guide us towards our destiny.
After all these years of praying for my husband and inviting him to carecell events, God spoke to him through Pastor Dominic’s message. That day, he responded to the altar call and rededicated his life to Jesus. WONG YAN ZHEN ANALYS T

DISCOVERYLAND’S CHRISTMAS EVENT BY P A M E L A L A M
O
n the weekend of December 23-24, the Summit was filled with Christmas cheers and lights as DiscoveryLand presented Light Up, an evangelistic event that was unlike any other. The entire place was transformed into the Town of Lights where 553 “tourists” (including 145 first-time visitors) and many “tour guides” (DiscoveryLand pastors, teachers, and helpers) sang and danced with the Praise Team. A special song, “Light of the World,” was performed as a reminder of Jesus as our Light in our world.

Suddenly, the lights started to dim. Out of the shadows came Duck Lady who was sucking up the power! Led by our hero, Torch, the tourists went on a mission to stop her and light up the town. Armed with the weapon of God’s Word, they worked together to bring power back – an outcome that greatly pleased the Town Speaker, Sister Ong Hui En. After a hearty round of applause, she shared with them a powerful message about the light of Jesus. Claire Lim also took to the stage to share with everyone a life-changing testimony on how the light of Jesus gave her joy, hope, and courage. In her darkest moments, His light brought her peace. As a result, she became a great source of comfort and encouragement to her friends, even rescuing a friend from hurting herself. Truly, no power of sin can stand between us and God when we allow Him to come into our lives. When Sister Hui En asked if anyone wanted God’s light to shine into their lives, 130 children responded with great enthusiasm by making decisions for Jesus. Our courageous Pre-Teen leaders also stepped in to share the “God Loves Me” tract with the first-timers.

Chrysann Lim, age 6 Jesus is the Light. I can share with my friends about Jesus! Benedict Ong, age 10 I learned how powerful the light of God is. I enjoyed the fun games and challenges that were related to the topic.
Megan Ong, age 10 I learned that Jesus is our eternal light who brings light into our darkness. He will be in our hearts forever. Annie Tang, age 11 Jesus has saved us all. I enjoyed the sharing time as I got to talk to new people.
More than the festivities and cheer, Light Up was a reminder of what Christmas is really all about – Jesus coming as the light of our world and the hope of our lives. F A M I LY COMMUNION 2018 BY FAI T H L E E
A TIME OF THANKSGIVING AND CELEBRATION As part of Trinity’s year-end tradition, Trinitarians came together for Family Communion (December 29-30) partaking the bread and cup as one spiritual family – God’s family. A significant event for many, it was a time of remembrance, thanksgiving, and celebration. As I attended Family Communion with my carecell, I am reminded of how families are also a gift from our Heavenly Father. They are places where we learn unconditional love and selfless service, become sharpened in our faith, and are encouraged to keep pursuing God’s purpose for our lives. Just as important as our biological families, our spiritual families are fundamental in helping us grow in God. During my first two years in Trinity, I chose not to be in a carecell. Lacking a spiritual family, I realized that there was no one that I could confide in when I was experiencing a down-time in my spiritual life – no one whom I could be accountable to or spur me on to grow. By God’s divine arrangement, He blessed me with a carecell that I could call my own. “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17) May we remain grateful for families that continue to sharpen us for God’s glory.

Darren Chua IGNYTE Family Communion is significant for me because it's a time where we gather to give thanks for God's goodness, faithfulness, and blessing in our lives for the year. It's a yearly reminder of how God has been good through the joys, sorrows, and trials. It's also a time to commit the new year to God and set goals to become more like Christ. Hannah Chow South District As I had communion with my carecell and gave thanks for God's faithfulness, I was amazed by His goodness in my life throughout the year. With Christ as my hope, I look forward to greater breakthroughs in my life and carecell in 2019. Delia Ng East District My husband and I got married in Trinity in 2014. Since then, Family Communion has become a family tradition where we testify of God's faithfulness, identify ourselves as His people, and declare His sovereignty in the year ahead.
Carol Teh East District My brother had been experiencing very bad tooth pain for some time. Though he was given painkillers, there was so much discomfort that he couldn't clench his teeth. During Family Communion, we had a wonderful time of sharing and thanking God for all that He had done for us in the year. Taking communion together as a family was special. It is a luxury because we do not live together. After Family Communion, my brother realized that the pain in his jaw had disappeared. What's more, he had not taken painkillers! He could clench his teeth and was able to enjoy a good dinner with the family. Indeed, communion can be God's channel of healing and wholeness. When we partake of the bread, we are declaring that Jesus' body was broken so that we can be made whole.

AS THE REST OF THE WORLD GATHERED TO CELEBRATE, COUNTDOWN, AND USHER IN THE NEW YEAR WITH FIREWORKS, THOUSANDS OF TRINITARIANS GATHERED AT TRINITY@PAYA LEBAR ON DECEMBER 31 FOR WATCHNIGHT.
With some queueing from as early as 7:00 pm, we came for one purpose – to hear God’s prophetic word and cross over into all He has for us in the coming year.
We move forward with one heart and spirit, confident that God is positioning us for what is to come.
The night started off with joyful songs as young and old declared the greatness of God. Trinitarians came to the stage to testify of God’s goodness in their lives. Through video updates and praise reports from Lead Pastor Dominic Yeo, Trinitarians saw the fruits of their faithfulness for the first two years of this Decade of Expansion. Yet, this is just the tip of the iceberg – the best is yet to come! Besides celebrating the past year, Watchnight is also a time to move forward as one church. In view of a changing society and a maturing discipleship structure, Pastor Dominic announced the transition of Trinity’s carecells to Connect Groups. While this change may be uncomfortable and inconvenient, we move forward with one heart and spirit, confident that God is positioning us for what is to come. Building upon the foundations of our Word, prayer, and Spirit life, Pastor Dominic’s prophetic word for 2019 was a call to go deeper in these areas so that we can establish and strengthen our faith life (pg 32). Trinitarians, let’s get ready to go deep and believe for another year of breakthroughs!

From the powerful time of worship at Watchnight to tonight’s time of prayer, God’s presence was felt through our time of declaration. Standing in unity, praying for the destiny of our family, church and land was unforgettable!
At Watchnight I was challenged to declare God’s truth into my carecell’s new season. As it is written in Numbers 14:8 “If the Lord is pleased with us, He will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us.” During Islandwide Prayer, I was extremely blessed to see how my carecell members spoke with conviction and faith in their prayers. Their prayers reflected that pure heart for God’s truth to be spoken in every area - their lives, our church, and our nation.
It was a meaningful time for us as a spiritual family to intentionally gather together to pray over each of our lives, family, church, and nation to embrace the will of God to be done in 2019! There was a strong sense of ownership that God’s bigger plans included each one of us. And through our faith, participation, and obedience, we will step into His destiny which of course, is His best plans for us!
While my core group was planning for the Island-Wide Prayer, we were concerned if our members would be able to pray for so long - this was our first time doing something like this. But thank God, we had the capacity for more! The carecell could pray for that long and even longer! Praise the Lord!

SILVER FORCE Since the start of the Silver Force in 2016, 600 Trinitarians in their 50s and above have dedicated their time and talents to play a bigger role in the church and its ministries. Trainings have been conducted so that they can serve as core teams in our Missions Impact Teams, teach English at our Language Ministries, become Trinity Academy curriculum writers, strengthen families as Marriage Mentors, keep our buildings safe during services as Security Marshals, and host our guests at conferences and special events in the Hospitality Team. SOCIAL JUSTICE In this Decade of Expansion, we saw a greater partnership with Project Rescue as we gave our finances and sent Missions Impact Teams and DEW teams to restore the lives of victims.

In our efforts to prevent children from being sold into slavery and sex trafficking, Trinity sponsored 700 more

destitute children in 2017, bringing the total number of sponsored children to almost 2,000. Trinity’s involvement in social justice continues to grow to greater levels of influence with Lead Pastor Dominic Yeo elected as Chairman of the newly formed Commission on Sexual Exploitation, Slavery and Trafficking of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship. Through this Commission, we now network across borders to address the issue of human trafficking around the world. Read about our social justice initiatives on pgs 82 and 88.

WORDS ARE IMPORTANT. WORDS HAVE POWER. WORDS CAN BE USED TO HURT OR BLESS. THE POWER OF WORDS EXTENDS FAR BEYOND EMOTIONAL IMPACT.
As believers, our words have a supernatural impact. What we say has the power to change circumstances and shape destinies. 1 Peter 4:11 tells us this: “If anyone speaks, he should do so as one speaking the very words of God.” Our words are our declaration of faith in God. Our declaration isn’t one based on human whims and wants but on the very Word of God. In 2018, God led Trinity back to basics in the areas of our prayer life, Word life, and Spirit life. While many of us have deepened in these areas, God is still drawing us to go deeper in these areas so that we can establish and strengthen our faith life in 2019. When we talk about faith life, one important aspect of that has to do with our words.
ISSUE 1
What do we declare to ourselves and to one another? There is power of life and death in our words (Proverbs 18:21)! What we speak forth can either build up or tear apart. Beyond impacting feelings, our words have supernatural power to create and orchestrate change. The principle of the transformational power of words can be seen in the creation of the world. In Hebrews 11:3, we read that, “By faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command [His words], so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” The Bible also tells us that, “In the beginning… the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep…” (Genesis 1:1-2) “Then God said…”

As He spoke the word, creative and supernatural power started to shape our world. When God said, “Let there be light” (verse 3) there was light. When God said “Let the land produce flora and fauna” (verses 11, 20, 24), the earth was filled with vegetation and living creatures. When God said, “Let us create mankind in our image” (verse 26), out came Adam and Eve. It is important we understand that we are created in God’s image. There is great significance in how God made us! We are not made equal with the rest of creation. Dogs, cats, cows, and sheep may have the ability to make noise but they can’t speak. Just as God spoke things into creation, God has given mankind the ability and authority to use words. That is why our words are so important, for our declaration will take us into our destiny. As we study Numbers 13 and 14, we will see how the declaration of God’s word determined the destinies of the Israelites. In Numbers 13:1, God told Moses to “send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders.” Two important truths to note from this verse: First, three key words – “I am giving.” This shows us that the land is a promise from God. A certainty. A done deal.
We don’t remember the other 10 because their declaration took them into a destiny of death. For Joshua and Caleb, their declaration brought them into their destiny. In this year of building our faith life, it’s important that we understand the power of our words. Instead of speaking words of death, we must make conscious and consistent efforts to speak the Word of God – words of life. We must learn to declare in ways that will bring us into our destiny.
Our declaration will take us into our destiny. Let’s continue to look at Numbers 13. In verse 26, the spies returned from their exploration and brought along with them evidence of excellent produce of the land. Their confession took a turn in verse 28 with the word, “but.” From there, everything negative and impossible flowed from the 10 spies in increasing distortion and exaggeration.
Second, the men chosen to explore the land were not recruits. They were leaders representing their tribes. God was entrusting this reconnaissance mission to the crème de la crème. Without referring to the Bible, how many of these leaders can you recall off the top of your head? For most of us, we can only remember two: Joshua and Caleb. The rest are just known as “spies.”

YOU BECOME WHAT YOU DECLARE It is very important for us to be conscious of our declaration.

In verse 33, the 10 spies declared that, ”We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” We must understand the spiritual principle that the confession of our lips shapes the person we become. Even the songs we sing impact our destiny! Worship is a powerful declaration. You become what you declare. We see this principle operating from the very beginning of our relationship with God. The Bible tells us that “If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10) You become who you are through the confession of your lips.

FRUITFULNESS OR FRUITLESSNESS Whether you enjoy the fruits of God’s provision or the fruitlessness of your strife is dependent on your confession. The Promised Land had great produce, flowing with milk and honey. It was available to them, promised to them, yet unclaimed and rejected through their confession. STEP IN OR DETOUR Whether you step into your destiny or go on a long detour is linked to your declaration. We know this to be true as the negative declaration of the 10 spies caused a 40-year delay for the Israelites to enter the Promise Land. An entire generation was derailed from their destiny!
YOUR CONFESSION WILL AFFECT OTHERS
ZERO OR HERO Whether you become a zero or a hero is dependent on your declaration. Even though the 10 spies were leaders, their declaration of being grasshoppers allowed fear and doubt to set in their hearts. As a result, they never moved into their destiny – zeroed out.
Numbers 13:32, tells us that the 10 spies “spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored.” Their bad report of impossibility, spread fear and despair, and caused “weeping from the community.” (Numbers 14:1)
On the other hand, Caleb and Joshua’s confession moved them into the Promise Land – testament as heroes of faith for us to learn from.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. What we declare in our families and communities has tremendous impact on those

who hear what we say. Today, we have so many platforms where communities gather – WhatsApp chatgroups, social media posts, and face-to-face communications. Church, we cannot be careless with our words, and hide behind the illusive protection of our screens. What we share and how we respond, whether in physical gettogethers or on digital platforms, carries weight! YOUR CONFESSION CAN INSPIRE OTHERS TO GREATER FAITH Many powerful testimonies were shared during Watchnight. Their confessions impacted fellow Trinitarians to arise in faith.
Rachel Yeo, a young working professional shared how she was encouraged by the testimonies – reminders of God’s faithfulness and power for what is to come. She was also challenged to pray and declare over her family and work situations: that facts would not determine her destiny and her faith. Dominic Phua, who is serving national service shared the following: “The testimony by Candy Fang really impacted me when she shared how though her circumstances did not change, she was not afraid because she knew that God is with her.” He continued to share how he was challenged to declare faith and not run away from God in times of trials and temptations. YOUR CONFESSION CAN DAMPEN OR KILL SOMEONE ELSE’S FAITH Spewing negativity. Grumblings against God. Words that dishonor leadership. That’s what the 10 spies did. Even Caleb’s attempt to encourage and shout faith was drowned out by the noise of the 10. Their collective negative confession caused the entire camp to focus on the problem and forget about the promise. Their confession rendered the God who unleashed 10 plagues and parted the Red Sea smaller than the “giants” of the land.

There’s no bigger killer of faith than someone who concludes a move of God to be coincidence. We have all heard of the phrase “don’t be a kill-joy.” In this case, don’t be a kill-faith. YOUR CONFESSION IS EITHER A WEIGHT OF DESPAIR OR A LIFT Do you prefer to hang around people who are positive or people who complain all day? I’m sure many of us would rather be in the presence of people who are encouraging and speak life.
Similarly, are your confessions constantly a dead weight or a lifter of heads? As children of God, do our confessions reflect our faith? If we are going to grow in our faith life, you and I must learn to declare in ways that inspire and encourage. Out of our mouths must come the very words of God. When we speak, our words should seek to bring life. Proverbs 15:4 tells us “The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.”

FACTS SHOULD NOT DETERMINE YOUR CONFESSION The fact was that the people occupying the Promised Land were big and strong.
Conquering new ground will always involve pushback from the occupants of the land. Advancing the Kingdom of God will always involve challenges in removing the old high places and establishing new altars.
The fact was that the 10 spies insisted it was impossible to conquer and drive out the inhabitants of the land. But none of the facts prevented Caleb from his confession of faith in the promises of God. “Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, ‘We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.’” NUMBERS 13:30
While we live in a world of facts, we cannot allow facts to determine our confession. Let’s look at these formulas.
Negative facts + lack of faith =
DESPAIR AND UNBELIEF
While challenges and opposition are facts, it does not mean that God is not in our situations. Many times, we think bad news is a closed door. Rather, they are opportunities for the greatest work of God to happen in our lives! Facts are the realities of life, but not the determinant of the supernatural life. Facts are the realities of life, but not the ingredients of the miraculous life. Facts are the realities of life, but not the essence of the abundant life. If we want to walk in the supernatural, miraculous, and abundant life, our confessions have to be based not on facts but upon our faith in our Almighty God. Many of us want the supernatural, miraculous, and abundant life. However, we stop at the confession of facts. We “agree” with the facts by our declaration of impossibility and negativity. “I’ll never be promoted.” “The doctors say I have cancer.” “My marriage is on the rocks.”
Negative facts + faith = COURAGE

That’s why Caleb’s response was so different. He wore the lenses of faith. When he spied on the land, he remembered it was a land that God is giving to them. That gave him courage to speak up against the bad report of the majority. It gave him courage to declare a miracle in the face of negative facts.

Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.’”
The reason Caleb was so confident in possessing the Promised Land was because he held on to the truth of God’s faithfulness and power. Do you know the Word? Do you know what it says about you and your destiny in God? Do you know what it says about who God is and what He is able to do? It’s important you realize the denomination of your confession has nothing to do with facts but everything to do with faith. The facts are still there. The circumstances do not change. But faith is how we appropriate the truth. Faith is putting trust in who God is. Faith is taking the Word of God and declaring it. It is important we grow in our faith life so that we will see the impossible happen.
THE DECLARATION OF TRUTH LEADS TO LIFE From Numbers 13:30 and 14:7-9, the Bible records for us the declarations of truth from Caleb and Joshua. “Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, ‘We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.’” NUMBERS 13:30
“[Joshua]…said to the entire Israelite assembly, ‘The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the Lord is pleased with us, He will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us.

NUMBERS 14:7-9
Their declaration pleased God tremendously as Numbers 14:24 tells us, “But because My servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows Me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.” While there were two facts of the land: the presence of strong opposition and a land flowing with milk and honey. Joshua and Caleb chose to declare truth based on God’s promises and not plain facts. Their declaration of truth allowed them and their descendants to experience life and step into their destiny. What happens when we declare plain facts instead of truth? The declaration of facts alone leads us to unbelief. “But” “We can’t” “The land we explored devours” “All the people there are of great size” “We seemed like grasshoppers” As the 10 spies spoke, unbelief grew and their negative confession drowned out their faith and the faith of their tribes. The declaration of facts alone leads us to rebellion. As they dwelled upon their declarations of the

impossible, unbelief set in. Rebellion followed. Their negative declarations became a foothold for the lies of the enemies to enter. Their negative declarations challenged the very character of God.
While God forgave the 10 spies and their tribes, He did not permit them to enter the Promised Land (14:23). In short, they failed to step into their destiny. I don’t know about you, but I want to live out the full life God has for me. It’s not enough for me to simply live as a forgiven child of God. That is not God’s plan for you and me.
Numbers 14:2-4 and 10 show how blinded the people had become: “All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, ‘If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness! Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?’ And they said to each other, ‘We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt’…But the whole assembly talked about stoning them.” Not only did they grumble against leadership, they wanted the leaders killed and replaced! The constant declaration of pure facts will lead to an assassination of God’s character and a rebellion of our hearts. Treating God with contempt is a very dangerous place to be in.
The declaration of facts alone leads to missing our destinies. The deaths of the 10 spies and their tribes meant “game over” – the end of their destinies. May our confessions not cause us to miss out on our calling in life. Don’t settle with living in spiritual poverty. Choose to step into the miraculous blessings and abundance of God! Be people who walk in the supernatural and fulfil your God-given destiny.
YOUR DESTINY IS IN YOUR CONFESSION
The declaration of facts alone leads us to death. In Numbers 14:37 we read that “these men who were responsible for spreading the bad report about the land were struck down and died of a plague before the Lord.” While we thank God that there is great grace available for us in Christ, but our confession has great repercussions.

There is power in words. There is power in our choice of words. There is a weight of divine authority in our words. What we confess has supernatural power to change destinies. The ending of the story in Numbers 14 tells us that “only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived.” The 10 who spread the bad report died.

Your destiny is not found by reflecting on your past but upon the Word of God. Reflecting on the past should only serve as a reminder to thank God for what He has done. Your destiny is found by looking forward to what God will do in the future. Your destiny is not found in rationalizing how God works. Your destiny is a journey of faith where you trust in God’s ways and plans.

Your destiny is not found in your personal ambitions or desires. It is not about you psyching yourself up or telling God that things must go a certain way. Your destiny is found in having a deep-seated conviction of what God wants you to do and where He wants you to be.
NUMBERS 14:36-38
If you want life, you must confess it. What are the promises and destinies that God has in store for us?
In 2001, I told Pastor Dowdy of my desire to resign from Trinity and relocate my family to Vancouver. I had even psyched up my wife to agree to this plan! In a trip to Romania, a friend told me to stop running away. “Pastor Dowdy is the Elijah,” he said, “and you are the Elisha.”
Your destiny is a destiny of life. John 10:10 tells us where the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy, God has come to give us life and have it to the full! Your destiny is a destiny of abundance.
On the flight back home, I realized that I was running away from my destiny. I was trying to reason myself out of it because I reminisced and wanted a certain lifestyle.
Deuteronomy 28:12 tells us that, “The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of His bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.”
But I’m glad my friend spoke a word of truth. And I’m thankful that I changed my declaration of trying to convince myself otherwise into one of submission to God’s will and plan.
Your destiny is a destiny of God’s protection.
What will your declaration be? As God builds our faith life, remember there is great power in our confession that affects what we become. Our confession will affect others – our families, our communities, our church, even our nation. Our confession cannot be one based on facts alone, but upon truth founded upon who God is and what He says He will do.
Psalm 91:9-11, 14-16 tells us that “If you say, ‘The Lord is my refuge,’ and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways... ‘I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges My name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.’”

very trying years with difficult teachers and have been frustrated and disappointed with being unfairly treated. I spoke into 2019, that he will go to a new class with new teachers and classrooms. I declared the favor of God into his life and that he will find favor with his new teachers! Just two weeks into school, my son came back to tell me that his form teacher said to him “I have a good impression of you.” What an amazing God we serve and how powerful our declarations can be!

DURING WATCHNIGHT 2016, BUSINESS OWNERS KEN AND AILEEN LIM CLAIMED GOD’S PROMISE OF EXPANSION. AS THE YEARS PROGRESSED, THAT PROMISE SEEMED IMPOSSIBLE. THEIR BUSINESS OF 20 YEARS ALMOST COLLAPSED. FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS WERE TESTED. DOORS THAT SEEMED TO OPEN, CLOSED. IT WOULD TAKE A HEALTH CRISIS FOR THE COUPLE TO REALIZE THAT EXPANSION FIRST STARTED FROM WITHIN.
DECLARING FAITH, EXPERIENCING BREAKTHROUGH
M
y wife and I are the regional owners and international master franchisers of global real estate agency. We are also founders and owners of an approved course provider by the Council of Estate Agency of Singapore. In January 2017, just as we stepped into the Decade of Expansion as a church, I (Ken) encountered many challenges in life. My business was struggling, and my family relationships were tested. Out of desperation, I texted Pastor Dominic to pray for my struggling business and family relationships. He responded with a verse from Leviticus 26:9.

“For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish My covenant with you.” I took the verse and declared that into my situation every day. However things didn’t get better. We encountered more challenges. We have had many inquiries showing interest in regional partnerships and franchising opportunities. Even memorandums of understanding were inked, but none of the partnerships came to fruition. Moreover, the cooling measures and increased competition affected us badly. Our cash flow was affected tremendously. In an effort to save the business, I had taken over management of the training center from my eldest daughter. Although we saw revenue increase

drastically, the profits went towards funding the losses of the real estate agency. My decisions resulted in tension between us. It was an emotionally painful period for the whole family. In March, we got into an accident. Although the traffic police later confirmed that we were not at fault, claims were made against us for almost a quarter million dollars in damages. This claim would have affected my credit bureau rating and complicate our loan facilities for my business. With challenges coming from all sides, I felt like giving up. I was at a loss at what to do. I remembered the Watchnight messages of going back to basics and was reminded of the verse that Pastor Dominic shared. While I couldn’t see any expansion, I persevered in prayer, daily declaring Leviticus 26:9 as a prophetic declaration over all aspects of my life. In faith, I surrendered every situation to Him. Every morning, my wife and I would declare the verse in our lives. We prayed regularly for His divine intervention and divine wisdom to walk on His path and not on our own. As we began to pray in the Spirit, we felt the Spirit’s leading and divine guidance. In September, a Christian brother proposed a partnership to set up a real estate training center in Johor Bahru. This time, we knew it was a divine connection. Besides being someone well-respected in the industry, he was also aligned to our vision for the business. Three months later, our business expanded with the grand opening of a three-story office in Permas Jaya. Just as things were starting to look up, another crisis was on the way.

Every morning, my wife and I would declare that verse in our lives. A WAKE-UP CALL In October, one day after my 66th birthday, I (Aileen) suffered a heart attack. As a healthy and fairly active person, nothing could have prepared me for this. After the doctor confirmed I had a heart blockage, he advised me to go for an operation and gave me one day to decide.
That night, my family and carecell prayed for me. With their encouragement, I agreed to go. Before the procedure, I sensed God’s presence and felt His peace. I thank God for a smooth and successful operation. The heart attack was a wake-up call. God had used this crisis to show me that I needed to reprioritize my life. For many years, I knew that my husband and I were called into marketplace ministry. In the course of running our businesses, we allowed work to become our focus.

When Pastor Dominic announced the Decade of Expansion, we were excited about business expansion. We had forgotten our call as marketplace ministers. God showed me that I needed to serve and live for Him first. Today, I see the two stents in my left heart as a reminder of having a changed heart for the Kingdom purpose. GOING BACK TO BASICS I (Ken) am reminded of my passion for the Lord when I first accepted Christ in 1974. A branch manager then, I dedicated every new branch to God – honoring Him for every expansion.
Today, I am returning to my first passion. When we opened our Johor Bahru branch, I called my Section Leader and carecell members to have a thanksgiving and dedication service. Our mission for RCA Academy is to be a Business in Missions for His glory. Bible verses on the side of the building serve as reminders that our purpose is to bring glory to Him.
We want to live out our call as His salt and light.
My wife and I want to revitalize our first love for God. We want to live out our call as His salt and light. We look forward to using our newest branch for marketplace ministry, including times of fellowship with like-minded business owners. Although many of our challenges are not yet resolved, our faith has been strengthened through these struggles. Despite all the uncertainties around us, we hold on to God’s promises for our lives, believing for breakthroughs and miracles to take place.

I
quickly scribbled an amount on my Faith Promise card, wanting to return to my duties as Celebration Host during the Missions Weekend in March 2018. Having attended Trinity since my childhood, I was familiar with the Faith Promise and wrote an amount similar to what I had given in previous years. It was an amount I was comfortable with. Just as I was about to submit my card, the pastor suddenly said: “Those who wrote what they are comfortable with, let God stretch your faith!” I felt strongly that God was prompting me to take up this challenge – to pledge an amount that was almost double the original. This was way out of my comfort zone. It was so radical that I knew it could not be my own thoughts, but prompted only by God.

God showed that He is truly my Provider.
I struggled. God had already challenged me earlier in the year to take an “Abrahamic journey” – to leave the job I had been comfortable in for almost a decade. I was about to resign in two months without a next job lined up. How would I meet this new financial challenge? After doing some mental calculations, I decided to use all of my upcoming performance bonus to fulfil my Faith Promise. Despite this plan, I still struggled with this stretching of faith. God, surely you know that I still need to eat while I’m in between jobs! Despite my fears of lack, I decided to pray and submit it to God. GOD PROVIDES! Just one month later, I received a performance bonus that was so much more than what I expected! For the first time in the company’s history, our bonuses were based on a 15-month assessment (instead of the usual 12).
I realized that the amount remaining after fulfilling my Missions Faith Promise would be the amount of bonus I had received in previous years! I had thought that I had to “suffer in lack” to give to Missions. God showed that He is truly my Provider.

STEPPING OUT TO BE A BLESSING God sustained me during the months when I was without a job. I even had enough to pay for my first missions trip to India!
Though I had reservations about my capacity to cope with the environment, I went ahead in obedience and faith. The preparations were physically exhausting. We had little sleep during the trip. Yet, I know it was God who sustained us and enabled us to serve the people. God also showed me how people need the Good News of Jesus to find hope, direction, and meaning in life. God’s love brings them the courage and joy they need to face life’s challenges, especially poverty and persecution. The local pastors and church leaders’ unwavering faith to continue the ministry despite the numerous great odds inspired me to press on in my faith journey. ANOTHER LEAP OF FAITH Then came Vision Weekend in September. I was still jobless after almost four months. Despite attending many interviews, I didn’t have a single job offer. Though my anxiety and tiredness grew as the months passed, I recalled God’s provision and decided to still make a Vision Faith Promise.

As I was writing the amount on my card, God convicted me to commit to give my first fruits – my first month of salary when I receive a job offer. This is where the “math” becomes interesting. As I was changing industries, I had requested in my job application an amount below my last drawn salary. This was far below the amount I had committed on my Vision Faith Promise card. To fulfill my Vision Faith Promise, I thought to “top up the balance” from the little savings I had. Although I knew that God will provide me with a job, it seemed crazy and impossible to me then that He would provide above and beyond that. GOD’S FAITHFUL ABUNDANCE God miraculously provided for me again!
Just a few weeks following Vision Weekend, I was offered a job. To my astonishment, I was offered a salary above the amount I had committed in my Vision Faith Promise. God enabled me to fulfill my Vision Faith Promise. He showed Himself able to provide beyond what I can imagine and bestowed His favor upon me. I signed my contract just a few days before leaving for my missions trip and started my new job right after I returned. I felt God’s assurance that, as I obeyed Him to join the missions trip to India, He would be faithful to take care of me. LIVING IN THE ABUNDANCE OF GOD For a long time, I struggled with the poverty mentality. Finances had become a stronghold for me because I constantly thought that I did not earn much or have enough in savings. Giving towards God’s Kingdom was like asking to cut off a piece of my flesh. I felt that I would give only what I could handle. Faith and obedience were lacking in my calculations.
miracle or past spiritual victories. God can work miracles again and again! He can do exceedingly abundantly above all I can ever ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Through the experience of God’s extraordinary provision in the past year, I have learned to add faith to the equation. My faith in God has multiplied as I learned to trust His leading. I am encouraged to give Him my wholehearted service, trusting in His Word that says, "But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and these things will be added to you."
God is not a one-trick wonder. Again and again, He showed Himself to be living and active. I cannot and do not need to live on just one

magine this scenario: It’s 6:00 am and you’re startled awake by your alarm clock. Rubbing the sleep off your eyes, you stumble into the kitchen to make yourself some breakfast. The coffee maker roars to life. Bread is toasted and spread with butter and jam. Now slightly more awake, you turn on the water heater and head to the bathroom to get ready for the day ahead. Steam rises from the shower. Clean water flows as you brush your teeth. You get dressed, grab your things, and head out the door, remembering to lock up before you go. In a developed nation like Singapore, this scenario is part and parcel of everyday life – nothing special or out of the ordinary.

Yet, millions around the world can only dream of having this quality of life. While global poverty rates have more than halved since 2000, one in 10 people in the developing world still live below the international poverty line of USD 1.90/day. Poverty is so much more than the lack of income. According to the United Nations, “Its manifestations include hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and other basic services, social discrimination and exclusion, as well as the lack of participation in decision-making.”1

Jesus exhorted us to remain sensitive to the plight of the poor – to be an extension of His love and life-transforming hope.
It is easy to brush poverty aside. It’s convenient to say that it’s “not my problem.” Yet, Jesus exhorted us to remain sensitive to the plight of the poor – to be an extension of His love and life-transforming hope. Whether it’s our time, talents, or treasures, you and I are called to be God’s channel of blessing and provision. When we exercise extravagant giving to the nations, we demonstrate an inward desire to put God’s global agenda above our own. Such boldness has been the basis of our missional heart from the very beginning. When we started with our first Missions Convention in 1977, extravagant giving seemed illogical for the nomadic congregation. We didn’t even have a building of our own! Yet, Trinitarians gave out of a belief that when we give to the nations, God would build our house. TRINITY’S EVOLUTION IN MISSIONS As Trinitarians faithfully fulfilled their Missions Faith Promises, every dollar enabled us to expand our missions endeavors through partnerships with trusted ministries. In the days to come, I sense an evolution into new and exciting endeavors.
With the launch of Trinity@Jakarta and Trinity@Bangkok, God has also opened the doors for us to embark on increasingly independent ventures through these regional centers. The coming together of Trinity’s DNA with local resources and local knowledge has resulted in amazing synergy in the missions field. God is not done with us yet! In the days ahead, I will be calling entrepreneurs to consider how their expertise can be used in the missions field (Business in Missions) for greater Kingdom influence. Trinitarians, thank you for being God’s hands, feet, and heart to the nations. Your generosity has enabled us to feed the hungry, care for the sick, set captives free, train the leaders of tomorrow, and enable thousands to make decisions for Jesus. While we may have many centers, Trinity remains one church with God's passionate heartbeat for the world. Join me this Missions Convention as we allow God to stretch our faith even further. Dare to give extravagantly so that Trinity can expand our missions impact like never before!

Trinitarians, thank you for choosing to be God’s hands, feet, and heart on the missions field. In 2018, 259 Trinitarians – 100 going for the first time – gave of their time, talents, and treasures by going to eight countries (Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Taiwan, and Thailand) to share and demonstrate God’s love. Closer to home, four missions impact teams partnered with Care Community Services Society to bless 50 elderly at CareElderly Senior Activities Centers (Circuit and Merpati) and 90 children at the Macpherson and Stamford Primary CareHuts.
Committed to breaking the cycle of poverty, Trinity continues to invest in the lives of the next generation by sponsoring 1,609 destitute children in four countries (India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand), including our children at The Champions@Chiang Mai City home.

Trinitarians, thank you for releasing your pastors to equip, strengthen, and empower the nations. In 2018, they went on 29 training and consultation trips to 11 nations (Albania, China, Colombia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Poland, Vietnam, USA, Taiwan).
Trinity’s involvement in social justice continues to grow to greater levels with Lead Pastor Dominic Yeo’s role as Chairman of the Commission on Sexual Exploitation, Slavery, and Trafficking. Through this World Assemblies of God Fellowship Commission, Trinity networks across borders to address human trafficking around the world (read more about it on pg 88).

Trinitarians, thank you for doing your part to restore their hope and dignity. In 2018, a missions impact team ministered to the children, youth, ladies, and staff of Project Rescue at Nagpur, India. TRINITY@BANGKOK REGIONAL CENTER PLANT Launched in October, our second regional center has become a lighthouse for the land of smiles. Our Wave teams comprising AlphaTrackers came alongside Pastor Joyce Lim to reach out to the community. One carecell was so excited about the inaugural service that they arranged an impromptu trip to serve and be part of this momentous occasion! It’s not easy being a Christian in Thailand. But every decision counts. Every sown seed matters.
“With less than one percent of the population in Thailand being Christians, the planting of Trinity@Bangkok means one more church in my country, one more chance for my people to hear the Good News, one more opportunity for my people to encounter God,” she shares with deep conviction and passion. Having attended Trinity during the three years she lived in Singapore, the launch of Trinity@Bangkok has given her opportunities to connect family members, friends, and acquaintances to church and God.

With a passionate heartbeat and urgency to see that none shall perish, she wasted no time inviting her best friend (Miemie) to Trinity@Bangkok. “Whenever I invited Miemie to church for Easter or Christmas, she would have countless excuses to turn down my invitation, but I did not give up on her. I continued to pray for her daily. When I arrived in Bangkok on Thursday, I accompanied Miemie to a temple for prayer. I wondered how she would react if I invited her to Trinity@Bangkok’s launch.” Despite her concerns, Roong extended the invitation – a step of faith that saw open heavens with Miemie and 20 other oikos who came for service that Sunday. “It was an unexpected surprise!” Roong exclaimed. “For over 10 years, I never had the chance to share the Gospel with Miemie. That morning, I saw her listening intently to Pastor Dominic’s message. It was as if heaven had her attention. When the altar call was given, she responded to receive Jesus!” Miemie would later share with Roong how she was impacted by how people loved and prayed to God. Today, Miemie is much calmer in facing life’s problems because she knows that she can count on God. Roong also rejoiced in seeing two other oikos receive salvation that morning. Having invited many of her former students, one of those students

asked another friend (Yo) to the service. It was a divine setup – Yo had already experienced visions of God before and during service: “Because I had already experienced God through a dream, I started thinking about having Him in my life. So when I was invited, I came. In that service, I felt peace and joy. That’s when I knew that God was real,” explained Yo. A shy and timid girl, another former student (Linda) heard the Good News for the first time during that service. “The pastor preached something that was a new revelation to me,” she shared, “It opened my eyes to understand how God wants to bless me. I also experienced a presence I couldn’t explain.” Though she isn’t able to speak English and doesn’t know anyone, Linda doesn’t let those things stop her from regularly attending Trinity@Bangkok. “The people make me feel welcome and I feel good being in church.” Roong serves relentlessly as a translator for Trinity@Bangkok’s collaterals, slides, and lyrics. While it’s not an easy task, she is committed to doing her part in Kingdom-expansion. “It’s not easy being the one percent. It’s not easy being a Christian in Thailand. But every decision counts. Every sown seed matters. I believe that through Trinity@Bangkok, we will see many Thai people learn about God and encounter His love. My role is to stand in the gap – to be a bridge to the language and culture of my people.”

n 2017, I had a crisis of faith. My dad passed away and my faith was shaken. Deep inside I knew God was real, but I was struggling with the pain in my life. As a result, I left church.

I used only to know that God loves me. Now I have encountered and experienced His love for me. he immediately invited me to attend service and carecell. Since I needed help with Dilla, Budi also connected with Grace Hee to meet her. I was touched by how she and the pastors took time to meet her even though I wasn’t a Trinitarian. I thank God for providing Trinity@Jakarta as a place where my friends can come and experience God’s love. Trinity has also helped me to find my sense of peace with God. Today, I have a renewed purpose. In January, I took my faith to the next level by becoming a Spiritual Parent. Just as many in Trinity@Jakarta have invested in my life, I want to invest in the lives of others by bringing them to church and helping them grow in their relationship with God.
ALDILA (DILLA) STEPHANIE I grew up attending a Christian school. I knew the Bible as a storybook but was never interested in knowing God. When I was in university, I met up with a friend who had become a Christian. He was different in a good way: at peace, content, and satisfied. After that, I started thinking about where my life was going and what I really wanted. I understood that achievements in life wouldn’t bring me peace. It was never-ending. It would only

make me ambitious and leave me dissatisfied. Deep down, I was empty. I set out to want to understand and know God more. Loving God because I wanted eternal life didn’t sound right to me. It felt like a business deal. I wanted to love God for who He is and not what He could do for me. I knew Ronny was a Christian and so I started talking to him and asking him questions about God. He invited me to visit Trinity@Jakarta. I remember Pastor Wendy Ong hugging me on my first visit. I felt loved and accepted into this family. When I heard the sermon, it made so much sense. I could apply the Word to my daily living. The presence of God was so real and I felt peace. Outside of church, Grace and Pastor Wendy would meet up with me to talk. At one lunch, Pastor Wendy asked if I wanted to receive Jesus. This time, I was ready and I said “Yes!” Today, life is different in a good way. It was like what I saw in my university friend’s life! My heart is truly content and satisfied. I used to only to know that God loves me. Now I have encountered and experienced His love for me. I used to dwell in my sadness whenever I had problems and worries. Now I can trust in God and rely on Him to guide me.

LED BY PASTOR SABRINA CHOW, RISEN CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLY (RCA) OPENED ITS DOORS IN AUGUST 2018. WHILE SEPARATE AND DISTINCT, THE DNA OF TRINITY LIVES ON THROUGH RCA WITH ITS EMPHASIS ON COMMUNITY LIFE AND A COMMITMENT TO EVANGELISM. IN THIS HALF-YEAR UPDATE, RONALD CHAO SHARES ABOUT THE HARVEST THAT HAS COME THROUGH ITS DOORS.

ince the inaugural service, we have seen God move powerfully in and through RCA. Through serving and praying, Risenites have been working tirelessly with the Lord to grow the church and to expand His Kingdom. From a starting congregation of 80, RCA’s weekly service attendance now averages 120. Indeed, God has been sending many new people to RCA – a testament to our hunger for the harvest.

In the following month, the Lord spoke to Pastor Sabrina on the need to bathe the church in prayer. Since then, Risenites have faithfully interceded in daily Revival Prayer Meetings. Many who joined have testified of God’s miracles, intervention, and prophetic visions.

HE AR W HAT O T HE RS SAY God has also brought many to RCA through the various evangelistic platforms. Hosted by Pastor Peter Leong, the first Testimonies & Tea on September 29 was a vibrant gathering where various Risenites shared powerful testimonies of God’s grace and divine intervention. We also praise God that six decisions were made for Christ that afternoon! The carecell Christmas parties were another opportunity to connect with oikos in the month of December. Food, fellowship, caroling, testimony-sharing, and gift exchanges were all highlights from RCA's Christmas parties. Most of all, we saw another eight people make decisions for the Lord during the holiday season! God has been good to RCA in 2018, giving us the privilege of leading 39 people to make decisions for Him. We look forward to an even greater harvest and greater things ahead in 2019!
Jeremy Ang Early 2019 was a tough season for me. Our family needed provision for a job and finances because my daughter would soon be entering school. God provided a job within two months – a position that fulfilled my passion for working with children while giving me more time for family and church. However, that was not the end of God’s blessings.

I also received a letter from Human Resources informing me of an increase to my salary. I had just assumed that the recent sector salary

Blessed with a strong leadership base, Trinity passes the blessing on by helping ministries around the world fill in the gap between theology (what Christians know) and action (what Christians do). Each year, pastors embark on trips to equip churches to grow numerically and spiritually. Building from their trips in April, Pastors Allen Loh and Kenny Sng travelled back to the Americas in August to help churches move their discipleship structure forward. The trainings and consultations are so important to our learning and growing process. It helped me and the leadership understand how to move the carecells forward. There has been great growth in the leadership, not just in numbers but in spiritual maturity. Moreover, our open carecells are multiplying into strength. This year, we expect to see even more growth. There are plans to establish three carecells in the first half of 2019. We are believing for even more salvations and to end the year with 300 members.

Pastor Christina Onn’s ministry in Taiwan continues to empower denominations and churches to expand their leadership base and strengthen community life.
From teaching to preaching, consultations to mentoring sessions, many doors opened for Lead Pastor Dominic Yeo’s ministry to expand into six continents in 2018.
Based on Trinity's experience, Pastor Christina provided suggestions on facilities planning and development. She also showed a framework for long-term planning of church structure and operations. Through the training and consultation, she helped our people grow in evangelism and nurturing. As the people committed to doing their part, we have seen many salvations and water baptisms take place in our church. Our carecells have also multiplied as members dared to become leaders in their own right.
By boldly declaring God’s prophetic word over the nations, he has been instrumental in helping individuals and ministers experience God’s blessing and breakthrough.

One of the surprising parts of the trip was the boat rides we had to make across the river for the church service and evangelistic rally. While it was inconvenient, this was nothing compared to the lengths the local pastors and church workers go through every week, rain or shine, even if it means having to swim across to further God’s Kingdom. A LEGACY OF E X PA N S I O N TCA COLLEGE WAS FOUNDED IN 1979 TO BE A PLACE WHERE FORMAL MINISTERIAL TRAINING WOULD BE AVAILABLE TO THOSE DEDICATED TO SERVING CHURCHES, COMMUNITIES, AND THE MISSIONS FIELD. OVER THE YEARS, THE COLLEGE HAS WORKED TIRELESSLY TO EXPAND ITS IMPACT AS A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY INSTITUTION OF HIGHER LEARNING. n 2018, we saw 189 new students join the TCA family, an increase of 34 percent over 2017. This led to 408 students studying at TCA last year. With each student taking up to four courses a term, our faculty has been working extra hard in grading assignments and interacting with students.
Certainly, the investment of Trinity’s missions dollars into TCA College has borne much fruit in equipping disciple-makers for the nations. With our upcoming graduation service on May 5, we look forward to releasing more than 100 students into their God-given destiny.

We thank God that His faithfulness has brought us this far. In 2018, we launched two fully-online programs – the Graduate Diploma in Christian Studies and the Master of Arts in Christian Leadership. This mode of learning has attracted those who are geographically- and time-bound due to commitments such as family, work, and travel. Educating and training global leaders can now be expanded across borders. Barriers and challenges of immigration, relocation, expense, and local commitments (personal, family, or ministry) are overcome in the virtual platform of learning. Our resources have also expanded to support this flexible mode of learning. The library’s electronic books have expanded from 50 to 500. Students also have access to the latest published research through our subscription to online academic journals. FORGING AND STRENGTHENING ACADEMIC RELATIONSHIPS In September, TCA College partnered with the Asia Pacific Theological Association to host Contemporary Issues in Asia Pacific Christianity, a symposium that brought together 55 theological educators from the Asia Pacific region. For two days, they had the opportunity to explore theological concepts, share ministry experience, and build relationships. Three of our faculty members had the opportunity to present their views on Pentecostal prophecy, spiritual formation, and contextualized ministry.

NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN THE SCHOOL OF COUNSELING The School of Counseling (SOC) also expanded to a new area of expertise in 2018 by partnering with Dr Carolyn Ng to host the seminar, Journeying with the Bereaved. Specializing in cancer-related palliative care and bereavement counselling support, Dr Ng provided over 100 professionals and pastors guidelines on how to journey with those who experience grief and the loss of loved ones.
“I need to address my fears and perspectives about death and dying before exploring it with others,” one participant shared. Another participant learned “to consider the cultural, social, familial, relational, and personal factors and to be more careful when speaking to the young and elderly.” We are grateful that this seminar has opened the door for continued collaboration with Dr Ng. In her new role as adjunct lecturer with the SOC, we are confident that her experience and passion will greatly benefit every student in her class. As we gear up to celebrate our 40th anniversary, we thank God that His faithfulness has brought us this far. As we forge forward, we do so with every intention to make a global, generational, and eternal impact for His glory.

Her school grades have also improved tremendously since she first came into the home. She is diligent in her studies and always does her own revision. She always aims to do better every term. Her teachers also spoke well about her. In 2018, her grades were among the top five in her class.

A girl purchased for as little as USD 150 can be sold to as many as 10 customers a night, bringing in USD 10,000 a month. Since 2017, we have seen the building of six new safe homes in Spain and India, as well as the provision of a new van so that women can be safely transported throughout the city. In 2017, Lead Pastor Dominic Yeo was elected as Chairman of the newly formed Commission on Sexual Exploitation, Slavery and Trafficking (SEST) of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship. Through the SEST, we will be able to grow and strengthen our network across borders to address the international issue of human trafficking.

Mary^ Project Rescue (Spain) I was made to have an abortion at home. Then my father and brother sold me to the mafia. I felt very betrayed and hurt. We were made to stay on the streets from 6:00pm to 6:00am. We had sex with more than 20 men a day. If we didn’t make enough money, we were beaten. One day, I was taken away by the police because I looked very young. Then, I was sent to Project Rescue. It took me more than a year before I could share my story and my pain. WITH OVER 1,000 BENEFICIARIES RANGING FROM CHILDREN TO THE ELDERLY, SHERLYN TAN SHARES ABOUT ONE BENEFICIARY WHOSE LIFE HAS CHANGED FOR THE BETTER THROUGH OUR CAREHUTS (SCHOOL-BASED STUDENT CARE CENTERS). With more than 360 beneficiaries under the age of 12, our CareHuts organize community projects and life competencies workshops to provide opportunities for children to develop their fullest potential. In December, every Carehut organized a party for the children to commemorate the year’s academic achievements and celebrate their character development. This year, over 400 people – children and their parents, volunteers, school leaders, and staff – joined in the fun.

When he first came to the CareHut in Primary One, Mason was disruptive and often got into trouble. He was also unable to focus on given tasks such as completing homework. Besides having a rough transition from kindergarten, his home situation was unstable, and he grew up with limited parental guidance. Through the positive reinforcement of staff, as well as the caring and nurturing environment of CareHut, Mason started to improve. His mom and teachers even noticed the positive changes in his behavior. “Today, Mason is more self- aware of knowing what the right things to do are,” affirms CareHut teacher Annlyn Lim, “He takes instructions better and can complete his homework.” “When I come to CareHut, people help me with my homework. I get to make many friends, and I like the teachers here,” Mason shares. He hopes to become a police officer when he grows up so that he can help others who are in need. ^

home away from home, Trinity meets these needs by giving opportunities to join vibrant communities of faith. Through these spiritual families, people are able to encounter God and experience breakthrough in their native tongue and culture.
In the past, I was a shy person who lacked confidence – especially in the area of praying. I knew I could pray but I would give a lot of excuses so that I didn’t have to. One day, my Spiritual Parent messaged me about it. “Why is it when I ask you to pray, you don’t want to?” “I am embarrassed,” I admitted.
Read on to see how different people have been strengthened in faith and emboldened to be God’s leaders wherever they are placed.
From that day on I chose to overcome my feelings, especially after attending Spiritual Parenting class. I remembered how many people prayed for me. I had to pass the blessings on to others.
2018 was a year of breakthrough. For a long time, I allowed self-pity to take over my life. But God blessed me with people in the Japanese Ministry who stood by me. When I needed help, they were a WhatsApp message away. I could express my emotions whenever I needed to. They were there to give words of encouragement, prayer, or tangible help. Though I expect greater challenges in 2019, I want to do more than stay out of self-pity. In 2018, I was ill to the point of being unable to work or take care of myself. In the midst of such hardship, I thank God for His hidden grace. Through this illness, I was able to grow in my relationship with Him. When I was weak, I was able to call on Him to be my strength. I am so thankful to the Thai Ministry for being with me through this tough year. They encouraged me to keep relying on God and to thank Him despite the circumstances. This year, I believe that God will make me stronger – both physically and spiritually. I believe that He will help me recover completely so that I can do my part in expanding His Kingdom.

I started 2018 grieving the loss of my father and a sister. A few months later, my eldest sister passed away. This time, I was so devastated. I didn’t know what to feel, say or pray. There were no words to describe how I felt. I immersed myself in the Word. I listened and praised Him through worship songs. One day, I noticed that I felt better. Going back to basics have greatly helped me in the grieving process. The truths and promises of God became declarations over my situation. Being part of this family of faith has also been a big part of my recovery. The pastors, leaders, and members constantly checked on me and sent me encouraging messages. They assured me that I was not alone. Losing my father and my two sisters was the most difficult, toughest time of my life. But I will be forever grateful to God because He gave me the strength to face the pain. He gave me joy and helped me get back on my feet. FIRED UP FOR KINGDOM E X PA N S I O N SINCE THE START OF THE SILVER FORCE IN 2016, 600 TRINITARIANS IN THE 50S AND ABOVE HAVE DEDICATED THEIR TIME AND TALENTS TO PLAY A BIGGER ROLE IN THE CHURCH AND ITS MINISTRIES. TRAININGS HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED SO THAT THEY CAN SERVE AS CORE TEAMS IN OUR MISSIONS IMPACT TEAMS, TEACH ENGLISH AT OUR LANGUAGE MINISTRIES, BECOME TRINITY ACADEMY CURRICULUM WRITERS, STRENGTHEN FAMILIES AS MARRIAGE MENTORS, KEEP OUR BUILDINGS SAFE DURING SERVICES AS SECURITY MARSHALS, AND HOST OUR GUESTS AT CONFERENCES AND SPECIAL EVENTS IN THE HOSPITALITY TEAM. n 2017, several Silver Force initiatives were successfully rolled out to make the best use of this generation’s knowledge, skills, and life experiences. However, quite a few people I have spoken to felt ambivalent about it. Armed with the curiosity of a senescent cat, I caught up with six active Silver Force volunteers to talk about their experience. The volunteers, aged 51 to 72 years, included two veterans in the IT industry, an insurance broker, a group chief executive officer, a supervisor, and a retiree. They are Angela Heng, Elaine Lai, Irene Tang, Lydia Leong, Vincent Ang, and Wenice Wee.

While the Silver Force represents a call to action that targets older Trinitarians, it also conjures up stereotypes and ambiguities that deterred many from joining. I asked the group what came to their mind when they first heard about the Silver Force.

L So when the Silver Force offered me a role in
hospitality, I felt wanted and needed. In reality, younger people have busy schedules that make it hard for them to volunteer on weekdays. It’s a gap that we can fill.
Most of the volunteers were already serving in the carecells and Ministry Expressions. Yet, the demands of ministry, full-time work, and family commitments never came up. I was also curious to know what got them started in the Silver Force.
L I own a car, I have time, and I love staying active.
A Cooking is my passion and I find it therapeutic.
V The Security Marshal role suits my personality as I like to stay active.
I I like meeting new people. While the Silver Force taps on the resourcefulness and unique capabilities of older Trinitarians, it also provides opportunities to pick up new skills and experiences. That can be jarring for those who tend to stick to what’s familiar and resist change. I asked the group how they adjusted to the changes.
V Security Marshals had to take a two-day
certifiable course to identify terrorist threats. There was an oral exam involved. We learned how to respond in different situations.
L For drivers in Hospitality, there was no training needed. However, you have to be diligent in planning and time management.
I am simply given the names and flight details of the people I was to pick up at the airport. Living near church, I am able to select the

earliest and latest flights so that drivers who live further away don’t have to travel too far.
I There’s no training in Hospitality since what
we do is a matter of common sense. We are told which room to go to and station ourselves there to serve the guests.
A The Silver Force emphasizes the personal
touch. In my first assignment as part of the food preparation team, I was given a breakfast menu that I felt needed to be changed entirely. I was given the freedom to make those changes.
It was such an exhilarating conversation with this group of single-minded volunteers – men and women living life with a can-do attitude. Irene, in her 70s and the oldest in the group, had this to say about changing people’s perception of Silver Force: “Many think that older people don’t know how to work. But I want to show them that they are wrong.” Though Irene retired at 55 to look after her grandchildren, she was promoted two years after she returned to the workforce as an older worker. As we approach the end of our time together, Daniel Yue, a Silver Force volunteer who contributed his photography skills for this article, chimed in this summary: “Serving is a privilege. Find ways to give back even as we grow older. While working with mature volunteers requires a different kind of engagement, I am hopeful that the Silver Force will continue to evolve over time for this to happen.” In all, this group is hopeful that Silver Force will deliver its purpose and promises, irrepressible in advocating for many more to join them. "I
’ve learned to persevere in worship, and to do so even when we are feeling tired. We should not allow distractions to stop us from worshipping God! I’ve also learned to endure during bad times and to trust in God for help!” That was what David Wee (age 11) took away from Camp Immovable! Held from December 11-13, 194 campers gathered in the Chapel with anticipation of what God would reveal to them. As they settled down in their groups on the first morning, the house lights suddenly went dark. Smoke filled the hall. Footage of an earthquake and a crumbling wall on the screen. “An earthquake has struck and has

destroyed the Wall!” thundered Brother Lee Wei En, the Tribal Chief, “We have to build a Wall that is bigger and stronger than before!” That was the task given to the campers, now known as Ninjas. They were required to train in the Plains of Kovanoyashi (Kovan Sports Center) with activities like Bubble Soccer, stacking up metal nuts with a single chopstick, and making a tower while blindfolded. Despite the frustration, dissatisfaction, and chaotic cries, our Ninjas pressed on despite facing many challenges. That night, Pastor Chung Kah Fei’s message showed them that the same value applied in their worship to God. The fun continued as they started the next day with a powerful time of praise, followed by a simple yet powerful word from Pastor Susie Tan on the need to endure the attacks of the enemy and challenges in life. The Ninjas were then sent to face the different clans of Ninjaland in challenges that would help them earn bricks for the Wall. Physically and emotionally draining, the tasks seemed endless but our Ninjas survived – a time that brought across the truth that as the testing of the muscles produces strength, the testing of faith produces perseverance (James 1:3). Onward to day three! While our Ninjas successfully earned many bricks from the challenges, they were told that a BIGGER earthquake was on the way! Now, they had to face off against the Black Clan for the final pieces to complete the Wall. Giving it their all, the Ninjas braved through the Laser Tag battle, persevered against all the odds in the Human Foosball challenge, and blew away all uncertainties in the Paper Ship race for the final bricks! Throughout these times of training and challenges, the Ninjas worked together to form the Wall. Those three days showed them what it meant to be immovable not just physically but in their faith, living out Hebrews 10:36 – “For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.”

Annie Tang, age 11 I learned that the heart of worship must be fiercely protected so that we can place Jesus as #1 in our heart. God told me that when I lose in badminton tournaments, I should not feel discouraged. Instead, I should persevere and not give up on my dreams.
Then, God gave me a vision. I saw Jesus! In the vision I was bowing down and worshipping Him. I did what God showed me and worshipped Him with my whole heart. I heard a gentle whisper where God said, “I love you.” I burst out crying! I learned to love Him more. All glory to God!

One Desire. One Devotion. For God and Our Generation!

his cheer encapsulated what ONE CONFERENCE was all about – 560 youths from all across Singapore coming together as one united church (from December 11-13) to live for God and inspire their generation. Opening the conference at Trinity’s Sanctuary was Pastor Isaiah Fadzlin (Faith Assembly of God), who challenged us to be people who give God our alabaster jars. Sharing from his experience of facing persecution for his faith, many were inspired and responded to be set apart for their generation. Pastor Gary Chia followed by encouraging us to give our all and not belittle how God can use us. There is no age limit to live for Jesus! The youths also had a blast getting to know one another better through the afternoon games. All awkwardness thawed as they bonded over the

various challenges. Friendships were forged during dinner before the youths returned to the Sanctuary for the first night rally. There, Reverend Ong Sek Leang (Metro Tabernacle) delivered a message on breaking through glass ceilings. The night ended with a powerful time at the altars as many received their breakthroughs and new revelations. Day Two began with Pastor Mavis Wong (Bethel Assembly of God). Her meaningful and relevant sermon reminded many that liberation that comes from living for Jesus rather than the expectations of men. Building on this open and authentic atmosphere, ONE CONFERENCE moved into a panel discussion moderated by Sister Faith Makinen. Undeterred by the youth’s complex questions, the pastors spoke candidly on a variety of topics, helping the youth see how they could articulate and account for the realities they face today. Having stretched their minds, it was time to stretch their legs! From capturing the flag to conquering obstacle courses, the youths gave their all and raced against the clock to collect as many points as possible. Everyone left Saint Andrews Junior College that day with spirits soaring, excited to receive more from God at the night rally. There, Reverend Ong spoke on the importance of building altars at God-appointed times. In this powerful time of introspection, many youth recommitted their lives to God, including those who had a full-time call.
Keeping the youths on the edge of their seats, Pastor Dominic Yeo opened the third day of ONE CONFERENCE with a message on how our “yes” allows the Holy Spirit to take us into our God-given destiny. With unbridled energy, the youths then set out for East Coast Park for another afternoon of games that put their endurance, patience, wit, creativity, and teamwork to the test. Three days of learning, seeking, and breakthrough culminated in the final night rally where Reverend Ong delivered an electrifying message on how the power of God can set His people free. A call for breakthrough was made where many rediscovered their destiny as a child of God. Though the youth come from different churches, a myriad of backgrounds, and various struggles, they left the conference with one desire and one devotion – to live for God and God alone. What an honor to be a part of a history-making moment! While this was the first event of its kind, may it not be the last for this breakthrough generation.

nspired by the life of Joseph, the camp began with a series of mass games depicting the different situations that he endured and conquered, teaching campers what it means to lean on God, trust Him, and to step up wherever we are placed. During Pastor Wendy Chang’s workshop, campers discussed the key biblical truths related to four areas: publishing social media posts, drinking, dressing, and organizing holidays with friends of the opposite gender. TESTIMON IES FROM CAMPERS campers learned to hold themselves as “leaders of generations” while learning practical tips on godly decision-making. In the first camp message, Sister Phebe Ngan defined leaders of generations as men and women who are called by God, molded by God, and blessed by God. Campers were encouraged to embrace God’s call for them to see multiple lines of generations that would come from them despite trying situations. On the second day, Brother Poon Chonglin preached about two key qualities needed for leaders of the new generation – authenticity and conviction. Preaching passionately about being an influence for the generations, he also shared that it would require boldness to declare God’s word and courage to love and forgive others.

Pastor Wendy concluded the third day of camp by sharing how to burst forth in fruitfulness by going in God’s favor. The message of trust and assurance in God opened the minds of campers as they learned to use their God-given gifts to bless those around them. Praise God for what He has done in the lives of our campers! It has been a fruitful time of learning how to branch out in influence wherever they are planted. WHEN THE WORLD THINKS OF EASTER, THEY CELEBRATE WITH IMAGES OF BUNNIES AND COLORED EGGS. 1 THIS IS A FAR CRY FROM ITS SIGNIFICANCE AS THE FOUNDATION OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH.

or Christians, Easter is a time to remember and celebrate the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Such declarations have been a part of the faith from the very beginning. It was the first thing Peter did after Pentecost (Acts 2:22-28). In an early Christian statement of faith (the Nicene Creed), earlier believers declared that “…He [Jesus] was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried, and on the third day He rose again…”2 Christians know what happened to Jesus on Easter. They also know when it happened. What may be less familiar is the why. Why did Jesus have to die?
EASTER THROUGH THE LENS OF PASSOVER Let’s start by looking at the word itself. “Easter” is a translation of the German ostern – most likely a reference to the resurrection and a transliteration of the Greek pascha which comes from the Hebrew pesah, meaning “Passover.”3

In the first Passover (Exodus 12), God commanded every Israelite family to sacrifice an unblemished lamb, applying its blood to the doorpost of their homes. The lamb’s blood was a sign for the angel of death to “pass over” their home, sparing the life of their firstborn. The Israelites were commanded thereafter to remember and symbolically re-enact this defining event of the sacrificial lamb, its blood protecting and covering them from the effects of death. It was this Passover commemoration meal that Jesus ate with His disciples on the eve of His arrest (Matthew 26:17-19; Mark 14:12-16; Luke 22:1-13; John 13:1).
THE NEED FOR DELIVERANCE, BOTH THEN AND NOW Just as the Israelites were delivered from the hands of the Egyptians, you and I must also be delivered from the hands of an even more sinister force – our hardness of heart towards God and inclination to rebel against Him. We do not like to think of ourselves as bad people. Yet, the reality is that we naturally

gravitate towards words, actions, and thoughts that are against God and His character. The Bible defines this as sin. The Bible has many different words to convey this concept of sin, the most common terms being transgression, iniquity, and committing wickedness.4 Transgression, in particular, reveals the severity of sin that goes beyond being outside the law or missing the mark. It is a voluntary act in defiance – an outright, willful rebellion against one’s superior who is the law-giver.5
HOLINESS, LOVE, AND THE CONSEQUENCE OF SIN Our inclination towards sin provokes God to anger. This is because God’s nature is primarily one of holiness – unable to tolerate moral wickedness and evil.6 Yet, Scripture also shows us that God’s nature is primarily one of love. These two dimensions of God’s nature – holiness and love – are always in tandem. They are always working and exhibited together, never separate. In His love, He created the universe and our world. In His holiness, all creation reflects His glory, including Adam and Eve. God’s holiness and love are always the motivation for all He does. As a holy and loving, all-powerful, self-existing being,

The two dimensions of God’s nature – holiness and love – are always in tandem. They are always working and exhibited together, never separate. God created humanity on the sixth day of creation: the very highpoint of His creative activity. Genesis 1-2 tells us that humanity is made in His very image. That meant we have the capacity for relationships (with Him and others) and given free will. Sadly, Adam and Eve used their free will to express unbelief in God. Deceived by the serpent, they rebelled against God by eating the forbidden fruit (Genesis 3). They chose to exalt themselves and become their own masters, their own gods, and declare their own righteousness (instead of submitting to the righteousness of God). In other words, they sinned. Adam and Eve violated God’s trust and disobeyed His command. They had, in effect, broken the relationship and become His enemy.7 Since holiness and disobedience cannot exist in

the same place, Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden – the place of God’s presence. As the sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve, you and I inherit the consequences of their sin. Originally righteous, the image of God that we bear is now tainted and broken – sin has become a part of our very nature. We follow in their footsteps by habitually exalting ourselves (above God) through disbelief, disobedience, and rebellion. In Romans 3:10, Paul summarizes the fallen nature of man by stating that “there is no one righteous, not even one.”
GOD’S REACTION TOWARDS HUMANITY What is a pure God to do with impure humanity? One could suggest for God could turn a blind eye to sin. Perhaps He wouldn’t have to judge humanity and punish its disbelief, disobedience, and rebellion.

Only an infinite God could pay the infinite price for our infinite sin against an infinite God However, ignoring sin is an affront to His holiness and a denial of Himself. It is not in God’s nature to permit and tolerate sin.8 What, then, are His options? OPTION 1: ABANDON OR DESTROY HUMANITY
Since God’s holiness compels Him to judge sinful words, actions, or thoughts, He has every right to give humanity what it deserves. As Paul writes in Romans 6:23, the consequence of sin – our wickedness, transgression, and hardness of heart – is death. As our Creator, God had every right to unleash His wrath upon us for our disobedience. Instead of expelling Adam and Eve from the Garden, God could have ended their lives.9 When you and I sin, we can spend our days wondering when God will release a lightning bolt from heaven.

This dilemma brings us to our second option, the only one which satisfies God’s nature as both holy and loving: God could put into place a plan that would counteract the deadly and infinite effects of sin. For this plan to work, it would have to achieve all of the following: 1. Pay the penalty of death (or take for punishment for humanity’s sin) 2. Forgive humanity
This is where Jesus comes in. As fully-man, someone who walked this earth and committed no sin, Jesus qualified to be our perfect sacrifice (1 Peter 1:18-19). Innocent and unblemished, He became our Passover lamb. As fully-God, Jesus qualified to be our infinite sacrifice – to pay the price that humanity could never pay. Jesus’ death brought a new meaning to Passover. Just as the blood of the lamb (when applied to the doorposts) saved the family from the angel of death, the broken body and shed blood of Jesus (when applied to our lives) save humanity from eternal death.10
3. Reconcile humanity with their Creator God Let’s take some time to look at each part. Pay the penalty

He argues that God (if he actually existed) should just forgive our sins by verbal assent and be done with it: “If God wanted to forgive our sins, why not just forgive them?” Dawkins either ignores, or does not understand, that God is holy and the serious affront which our sin is to the holiness of God. 9 We see God take this course of action against the entire human race in Genesis 6-8 and with the Israelites in Exodus 32 and Numbers 14. Instead of pouring out His wrath upon us, God poured it upon His own Son, an action that could fully honor His nature as both holy and loving. The holiness required a penalty for sin. The love of God provided a payment on our behalf.11 “Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” ROMANS 5:7-8
Forgive humanity With the penalty paid and the obstacle of sin removed, God could proceed to forgive our selfrighteous disbelief, disobedience, and rebellion. He no longer holds our sin against us because the debt has been paid. We know this because of what happened immediately after Jesus’ death. Reconcile with His creation “And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He gave up His spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.” MATTHEW 27:50-51

once a year. With Jesus’ death, God removed the separation between Himself and humanity; the presence of God is now available to all people for all time. “God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them.” 2 CORINTHIANS 5:19
The death of Jesus was the beginning of a renewed relationship between man and God. Anyone who accepted Jesus into their hearts could now experience the original relationship that Adam and Eve had with God. “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” JOHN 3:16
Beyond securing a place in heaven, our relationship with God means that we can experience heaven on earth, secure in the truth that He is with us every step of the way.

OUR RESPONSE TO EASTER Why did Jesus have to die? Jesus had to die so that you and I could live. That is why Christians celebrate Easter with the image of the cross – a symbol of God’s great love for humanity. What, then, should our response to Easter be?
ACCEPT OUR INHERENT SINFULNESS Having inherited the consequences of Adam and Eve’s sin, you and I are flawed and separated from God. Rebellion and disobedience to God is our default mode of operation. No matter what we do, we cannot by our own efforts bring ourselves back to our original righteousness, nor repair our broken relationship with God.
UNDERSTAND GOD’S GIFT As Millard Erickson summarizes: “God’s justice requires that there be payment for the penalty of sin. God’s love, however, desires that

humans be restored to fellowship with Him. The offer of Jesus Christ as the atonement for sin means that both the justice and love of God have been maintained.”
MAKE A DECISION Our perfect and infinite sacrifice, Jesus provided the only way for our lives to be preserved and our relationship with God to be restored (salvation). The relationship that God originally had with Adam and Eve can now be experienced by anyone who accepts His Son into their hearts. This demonstration of love requires a response. We can either reject God’s love or receive it in faith.
REFLECT GOD’S HOLINESS AND LOVE While salvation is free, it came at a great cost. Therefore, you and I cannot take our salvation for granted. As the hardness of our hearts

is softened by God’s love, our chosen reaction should be to speak words, perform actions, and think thoughts that are in line with Him and His character. While we will never escape the temptation of sin, we are exhorted to offer continually our bodies as “a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God.” (Romans 12:1) In this way, our lives then reflect the image of God – His love and holiness – for the world to see.

Trinity Academy takes a broader look of church education across age groups and life stages. By developing age-appropriate curriculum, Trinity Academy seeks to build biblical truths resulting in strong discipleship of Trinitarians.

COMING BACK TO GOD PW A Christian by name, I wasn’t serious with God in my younger years. All that changed before I went to university. At the lowest point of my life, I asked a friend to bring me to church. She had been asking me to come for years but I kept rejecting her invitation. At that service, I rededicated my life to God.

My friend also persuaded me to sign for a Chi Alpha camp (the predecessor of Campus). Though she couldn’t go, she made sure that there were people to look after me. I got to know so many people through that camp and

ANSWERING MY FULL-TIME CALL PG When I joined Trinity at the age of 16, I felt that God was calling me into full-time ministry. I did really well for my O-Levels but junior college was another story. I was failing every class. Even though I worked really hard to catch up, I got straight E’s for my preliminary A-Level exams.
One the eve of my first paper, while worshiping with my guitar, I told God that I didn’t want to come into full-time ministry by default. I didn’t want to go to bible school because I had no other options.
That was when I heard God’s audible voice asking me this: “If I give you good grades, would you give it up?” I responded by putting down my guitar and going to sleep. When the exam results came in, I got straight A’s and started applying for universities. I even had a few placements. Yet, God kept reminding me of that conversation.
Four months later during service, God asked, "Gerald, do you love Me?” At that point, I knew I couldn’t run away anymore. After National Service, I stepped into God’s plan for my life, enrolling in TCA College to prepare for the journey ahead.

MEMORABLE TRINITY MOMENT

a moment I’ll never forget. At 15, she was ready to declare her faith and very clear that she wanted to follow Jesus. It was both a proud pastor and a proud mommy moment for me – a reminder of the truth that discipleship starts at home. It was important for my husband and me to show them what authentic faith looked like, its ups and downs, and to guide our daughters in experiencing God for themselves.

Trinity@Adam, I was waiting for the elevator so that I could go up and conduct a water baptism service. Barefoot with a towel in hand, I looked like one of the baptism candidates. I remain humbled to know that God will partner with anyone to further His Kingdom. UNFORGETTABLE MINISTRY LESSON PW While hosting one of the weekend services, the Holy Spirit prompted me to reassure a parent whose child had a learning disability that He would take care of her. It really frightened the daylights out of me because it was so specific. When no one approached me after service, I worried that I had made a mistake. The following week, a lady approached me with her daughter. She shared how the word I released last week was for her. At that moment, I learned of the depth of God’s grace. In a service ministering to thousands, He paused to speak one word for one person. It showed me the importance of obeying His prompting, even when we don’t understand what He wants to do through us.

I was assigned to preach for a church’s Sunday service. The reception I got from my hosts was chilly and I had to endure comments about my age and lack of ministry experience. When the time came to preach, I did what I had to do: I shared a message and gave an altar call. By the grace of God many responded, including the people who had made those comments towards me. What I learned from that experience is this: ministry has nothing to do with who we are. Ministry has everything to do with who God is. Because of this truth, I’ve never sought the approval of man as a validation of my over two decades of ministry. Though I’ve been given opportunities to teach and preach around the world, I remain humbled to know that God will partner with anyone to further His Kingdom.
PERSONAL EXPANSION IN THE DECADE OF EXPANSION
PW When Campus started Surge last year,
it was a huge expansion for me and all the Campus leaders. God challenged our ministry to dare to believe that a closely-knitted community and rapid growth will be seen in Campus.
Campus students were challenged to win their generation by connecting with them via these weekly outreach events. We saw a breakthrough in the faith and courage in the students as we stepped into the miraculous that God had in store for us. And God did not disappoint. Over 300 oikos came for Surge and many of them are now part of the community. Though they have not made decisions for Jesus, they have found a place where they can be encouraged and loved for who they are.
PG Since coming back to Trinity last year,
I’ve enjoyed getting into the swing of things because God is doing exciting things in this Decade of Expansion.

When I saw what God was doing there, it really changed my perspective about missions. The trip really opened up my eyes to see what God was doing in the nations, even in the remote parts of the world. The missionaries stationed there were willing to give up the comforts of their home to go to a place with many unknowns. When I saw what people were willing to sacrifice for God, it really challenged me to reconsider my perspectives about missions. What was I doing with my life? What does missions mean to me? If I said I loved God, do I really have a heartbeat for the lost? That started me on a journey where I learned to live and give to God. Besides going on missions trips, I learned to give towards missions.

ministry where I did a lot of trainings and consultations in many parts of the world. Today, my scope includes preaching at our regional centers and involvement through the Missions Executive Group. It is a joy and a privilege to serve the Lord in missions – to know that I can do my bit to impact the nations for God.

We also get to be a part of the action, to be conduits of blessing and breakthrough. On giving: Trinitarians are a giving bunch! They are a people who know how to give to missions. I appreciate their generosity and heart towards God’s heartbeat. Even young people are willing to give as well. We have built a good culture of giving. In Trinity’s missions endeavors, we have partnerships with ministers and ministries around the world. When we fulfill our Missions Faith Promise, you and I are called to exercise trust that the church is stewarding these funds for maximum Kingdom-impact.

God has called us to be a global church. Therefore, we must do what it takes to fulfill the mandate that He has given us. Many times, we see our service to God as a sacrifice. In many ways, it is. However, if our posture is one of sacrifice, ministry will always make us feel like we’re giving. That’s why we can become tired in our serving. You and I need to come to a place where we see our partnership with God as a privilege.
