The Great Commandment

Matthew 22:37-38

The New Commandment

John 13:34-35 The Great Commission

Matthew 28:19-20

In Trinity, we love God passionately, we love church zealously, and we love souls relentlessly. We will encounter God, experience life, and impact our world.

You would have heard me say this many times since Watchnight Service last year when I unveiled Trinity 3.0. I want to underscore what God has impressed upon me in greater measure since April 2021 when I sought Him for how He sees Trinity in the future. You can read more about that in trinitarian.online — Trinity 3.0: A New Chapter.

In this edition of the Trinitarian magazine, you can find all you need to know about Trinity — our centers and the nations we go to, our ministries and partnerships, our pastoral and admin teams, our beliefs and distinctives that continue to undergird all we do and what we stand for. Trinity 3.0 will be embedded in existing and new initiatives, because we want to be all God calls us to be.

As a church, we will be discipling all Trinitarians to love God passionately, love church zealously, and love souls relentlessly. As a church, we will be a biblical community where people can encounter God, experience life, and impact our world.

Regardless of how long you’ve been in Trinity, it is imperative that you take time to go through every page of this publication. Not just because this publication has been put together by Trinity’s pastoral and admin teams, but because this is where you belong. May you gain a stronger, whether newfound or reinforced, appreciation for this house that God has placed us in. May you be proud to be part of Trinity and to be a Trinitarian.

LEAD PASTOR'S MESSAGE

I pray that as you flip through the pages of this publication, you will encounter the God of Trinity — to see His mighty works, know His faithfulness and greatness, and feel His divine hand moving in this church. May you desire, like I do every day, more of what God will do in and through us as individuals, families, and as a church, right here in Trinity.

We are so blessed to be God’s hands and feet, and His mouthpiece to proclaim the good news of Jesus and bring life wherever we go.

This is Trinity.

THE GOD OF COVENANT

Extracted from Watchnight Service 2023 and the First Service of 2024

A Two-part Message by Lead Pastor Gerald Tan

PART 1

THE COVENANT FULFILLED

Genesis 17:1-22

Through this passage where God establishes His covenant with Abram, I sense the Lord telling us that He is the God of Covenant, renewing His covenant in our lives and for us as a church.

Covenants Versus Contracts

“Covenant” comes from the Hebrew word berîyth. It refers to a sacred kinship bond between two persons or parties, ratified by the swearing of an oath.

Covenants in the Bible comprise two elements:

1. Legal obligations of the parties involved promises and responsibilities established in the covenant; and

2. Permanent relationship established through the covenant

Covenants are based on an oath, a commitment that is permanent and for life. They are not based on the protection of self-interest but based on sacrificial love.

Scan to watch Part 1 online.

” 1 Now when Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him,“I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless.

2 I will make My covenant between Me and you, And I will multiply you exceedingly.”

Genesis 17:1-2

God’s Covenant releases several things in our lives:

1. The Covenant of Increase

” 2 I will make My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.”

In 2023, Trinity experienced an unprecedented increase from God. Moving forward, God will continue to multiply us exceedingly…

In our lives

In our influence and impact

In our capacity for more of Him

In the positioning of God in our lives

In the ability to experience the greatness and fulfillment of His Word

In the blessedness of life

2. The Covenant of Destiny

” 5 No longer shall you be named Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.”

Abram (“exalted father”) was changed to Abraham (“father of a multitude”). Through his obedience in following God out of his homeland (Genesis 12) and through the encounter with God, Abraham experienced a shift from self into destiny. Our lives are not a mistake, God gives us a life of destiny, of purpose, and one that overflows with His goodness.

3. The Covenant of Fruitfulness

” 6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.”

Instead of finding ourselves in lack, in debt, or trouble, God wants us to experience fruitfulness in every dimension of our lives career, studies, relationships, families, and posterity.

As we sow the Word of God and preach the Gospel, we will see the fruitfulness of salvation lives and souls blessed, and people brought into the kingdom of God.

4. The Covenant of Legacy

” 6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.”

Whether spiritually or biologically, God will cause the works of our hands to leave a lasting and godly impact beyond our lifetime. The God of legacy is at work here.

We have seen it over the years through the leadership of Pastor Dowdy and Pastor Dominic. Let’s continue the legacy of God in our lives and in and through Trinity.

WHETHER SPIRITUALLY OR BIOLOGICALLY, GOD WILL CAUSE THE WORKS OF OUR HANDS TO LEAVE A LASTING AND GODLY IMPACT BEYOND OUR LIFETIME.

5.

The Covenant of Intimacy

” 8 And I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land where you live as a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

Even after the covenant was made, Abraham had to go through trials and challenges. The fulfillment of the inheritance of the Promised Land was centuries away, yet in this journey, God said to Abraham, “I will be their God.”

This covenant of intimacy we have with God is every day and every moment. He is our God who never fails and He continues to lead us always.

We have a responsibility.

God promised Abraham the covenants of increase, destiny, fruitfulness, legacy, and intimacy.

For Abraham to experience these things, he was to:

1. Walk before God and be blameless (v1). Our commitment to pursue the holiness of God is what keeps us in the center of God’s will and covenant for us.

2. Keep the covenant of circumcision (v9-14). The act of circumcision was a commitment a permanent procedure done out of obedience to the Lord.

God calls us into a life of commitment to Him. This means obedience, surrender, and keeping God before us always.

Set apart externally and internally

Externally, the physical act of circumcision is seen in flesh for all the men.

Internally, the Bible talks about the circumcision of the heart. We are to keep and obey the law that has been given to us, but the law must be written in our hearts (Hebrews 8:10). We must live lives that proclaim God is our Master.

Identified as His people

Physical circumcision set Abraham and his descendants apart as people of God a national identity.

In the same way, spiritual circumcision identifies us as people of God. We are not afraid to say we are Christians.

The Covenant Fulfilled

” 21 But I will establish My covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this season next year.”

The covenant God made with Abraham was being fulfilled through the birth of Isaac the son of promise.

In 2024, we will receive the spiritual Isaac that God will birth in us, in our lives, and our families. The name Isaac means “he will laugh” or “he will rejoice”. Trinitarians, we will rejoice in the fulfillment of God’s covenant in our lives and our church!

PART 2

A NEW COVENANT, A FRESH VISION

Genesis 28:10-22

Jacob had left Beersheba for Haran outside the Promised Land, moving away from the land of inheritance God had promised Abraham. There Jacob had a powerful encounter with God, which led to his restoration and a new life covenant.

From this passage, I see the new covenant and fresh vision from God, both individually and as a church, as we enter 2024!

Encountering God

When Jacob stopped for the night on his journey in the wilderness, God revealed Himself to Jacob through a dream. We must long and seek to encounter God and realize that God desires to encounter us too. Jacob experienced this firsthand. Jeremiah 29:13 states, “You will seek me and you will find me, when you seek me with all of your heart”, it is an earnest posture and desire to pursue God and encounter Him.

Verse 14 assures us that God wants to be found by us! We come to God because of who He is, to know Him and His will; in walking with Him, we are confident He will meet our needs.

” 13 …I am the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.

” 14 Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

” 15 Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”

— Genesis 28:13-15

My prayer and desire for us is to encounter God in our services, prayer, connect group, at home, during devotion whether alone or with others.

1. Receive His revelation God revealed His identity, plans, and covenant to Jacob (v11-13). Like Jacob, we often feel overwhelmed and lost in our circumstances. However, in those moments, God encounters us, revealing Himself and showing us His plans for our lives.

2. Receiving His promise. God promises to be with Jacob, to lead him, bless him, and make his descendants a blessing (v13-15). This promise is a certainty that accompanies God's revelation. Jacob needed both the revelation and the promise of God to confidently walk in the fulfillment of God's plans for him.

THE GOD OF THE COVENANT DESIRES TO ENCOUNTER US! ARE WE READY TO ENCOUNTER GOD?

God desires to give us His revelation and promises which are rooted in His character and nature. With the certainty of His Word, we experience the manifestation of His presence and power that brings restoration, transformation, breakthroughs, and miracles.

The God of the Covenant desires to encounter us! Are we ready to encounter God?

Experiencing Life

When God encountered Jacob, He affirmed his life and calling, identifying Himself as the God of Abraham and Isaac, and promising Jacob and his descendants the land he was on. The encounter brought life to Jacob, both personally and in terms of his future posterity.

Despite Jacob being single and childless at that time, God spoke life and a future of abundance over Jacob and his descendants.

1. Life of success and abundance God blessed Jacob and the work of his hands. His livestock multiplied and his family grew. Even as Jacob struggled to follow God's will, God, in His faithfulness, watched over Jacob to fulfill the promises made to him and his forefathers.

2. Life through victory over the schemes of his enemies

Despite the battles and troubles he would face, God promised Jacob a life of victory over his enemies' schemes.

GO,
DO, WHOEVER WE MEET, OUR WORLD SHOULD BECOME A BETTER PLACE BECAUSE WE ARE IN IT.

Impact Our World Genesis 28 shows the impact Jacob and his descendants, the nation of Israel would have on the world. God promised that through Jacob, all families of the Earth would be blessed. This shows God's desire for us to impact our world positively.

In Trinity, we love God passionately, we love church zealously, and we love souls relentlessly. We will encounter God, experience life, and impact our world.

We are to be salt and light; how we live matters. We are conduits of the power of God; instruments in the hand of God! By loving people through selfless gestures and interaction, we can channel God's presence, light, hope, faith and blessings to an ever-darkening world.

Trinitarians in this New Covenant and fresh vision; everything we are and everything we do must be about God and will be about God. Let our response to God's covenant and vision be, " You will be my God ," dedicating and devoting ourselves to be a pleasing dwelling place for Him!

Prayer moves the hand of God. Through prayer, we invite God to intervene and impact our world through us, as we acknowledge and submit ourselves in service to Him.

IN TRINITY,

OUR WORLD SHOULD BE A BETTER PLACE BECAUSE WE ARE IN IT.
LEAD PASTOR GERALD TAN

ENCOUNTER GOD

We will encounter God in every platform, alone or when we come together.

“'And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will let Myself be found by you,’ declares the Lord.“

– Jeremiah 29:13-14a

Encountering God's tangible presence, His manifest power, His glory unveiled and released in our lives, so that we may carry that wherever we go and see transformation in lives.

EXPERIENCE LIFE

We embrace not just eternal life with the assurance of an eternity in heaven, but the abundant life we have in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

“I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.”

– John 10:10

This is a life of blessedness, of breakthroughs and the abundance of God. A life of the shalom of God in us, not determined by our circumstances.

Life in this biblical community – a life of unity, overflowing with God's goodness, strong covenantal relationships, a life of hope, strength and peace – fueled by the power of the Holy Spirit as exemplified in Acts 2.

IMPACT

OUR WORLD

We are strategic leaders appointed by God, carrying an apostolic authority in our lives, being a prophetic voice, living out God's purposes, making a difference in the lives of people around us.

“...Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

– Esther 4:14

“...but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”

– Daniel 11:32b

God positions us for His influence and purposes, causing us to excel in various fields, such as sports, business, education and more. Our impact is not just about our position and vocation, but about our daily interactions with every individual.

LOVE GOD PASSIONATELY

Matthew 22:37-38 and Deuteronomy 6:5 tells us that “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”, is the greatest commandment.

Our continual pursuit of Him in every aspect of our lives, seeking to please and honor Him in all our daily lives and decisions.

This is evident in our desire to walk in reverence and the fear of God in our lives, actively developing our relationship with Him, seeking to know Him more intimately, growing in our love for Him day by day.

LOVE CHURCH ZEALOUSLY

”I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples:

if you have love for one another.”

– John 13:34

Loving fellow believers, particularly those in the biblical community God has placed us in here in Trinity.

“Zeal for your house will consume me.“

– Psalm 69:9

It must burn in our hearts, speech, deeds and behavior, a tangible expression of love for Trinity.

Trinity is where we belong. We embrace Trinity as our spiritual home. We aim to disciple and grow together as a family. We commit to sacrificial service unto one another, using our gifts to build Trinity up, and to grow spiritually alongside our biological and spiritual families. We will keep loving one another at all times.

LOVE SOULS RELENTLESSLY

Matthew 28:19-20 says ”Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” This is our response to this Great Commission.

Every soul is eternal and every life matters to God.

We actively seek to bring people into God's kingdom, seeing genuine conversions in our services and connect groups. We are dedicated to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, warmly welcoming people into our community, discipling new believers and doing life together. This is our testimony and this is our joy.

THIS IS TRINITY.

A PRAYER OF DECLARATION

Lord, we declare Your protection over us as we navigate through life. May Your presence surround us, shield us and guide our steps.

Lord, may Your blessings and fruitfulness flow through everything we do in Trinity. Grant us success in the ministries, outreach, and worship unto You.

We declare victory over the struggles and battles we face in Your name. You make us strong. You help us overcome all obstacles. Over addictions, anxiety, or mental health challenges, Your power gives us victory.

Over all challenges we face, be it physical, emotional, spiritual ailments, relational or financial difficulties, we declare Your provision, that there will be no lack. Our families will be filled with joy, peace, and grace, overflowing so that we may bless others abundantly.

Bless us with children and grandchildren who grow close to You, walk in Your ways, and experience Your blessings and destiny for their lives. You will strengthen our family relationships and guide those who have strayed back to You.

As a spiritual family here at Trinity we will thrive, grow, and belong. We declare that we will experience Your favor. We speak unity, strength, and love across all our centers and ministries, as we journey together.

We trust Your faithfulness and restoration in our lives as You set us on the path of abundant life.

AMEN!

Trinitarians started 2024 with a church-wide 21-day prayer and fast to seek God fervently.

Dedication service seals 21 days of prayer and fast

It was the start of the year like no other. It was at the Watchnight Service, Trinity Christian Centre launched 21 days of church-wide prayer and fast to kick off 2024.

Over the next three weeks, Trinitarians took time to seek and hear from God — both individually and as a family. Some also made a beeline for Morning Prayer at church for the five days before heading to work.

A Trinitarian in Birmingham shared on Padlet, "These 21 days of prayer and fast have helped me to become more conscious of the power and presence of God in my life. I feel more emboldened in my spirit knowing that there has been a real shift. I know that God is showing me, preparing me and equipping me for the work that He has called me to do."

According to Jean Loy, Spiritual Parent of Mustard Seeds CG in Area 4, these 21 days showed her that God loves her very much, making her want to learn to love Him more and more each day. “God dropped words to me, gave me visions and touched me. I am humbled and in awe of His grace,” she said.

During this period, Jane Teo, Section Leader in the Japanese Ministry, gleaned that God looks at her heart, not just her actions.

Personal devotionals, purposeful thoughts

Accompanying the prayer and fast was a 21-Day Journal written by various pastors and ministers. The personal devotionals covered different areas as God impressed upon us.

Many like Nancy Teh were grateful for the journal.

“It helped me to be intentional and purposeful in my thoughts and prayers as I read and waited upon the Lord through this period of ‘circumcision of my heart’,” said the Leader of Koinonia CG in Area 3.

”The sharing by the pastors and ministers made the journal very relatable, while not losing focus on the Word of God,” said Pastor TJ Ooi of Creative Ministry.

To Pastor Tat Liong, the words of fellow pastors and ministers not only reminded him of his journey with God but also proved to be very useful material for his family to share their journey of faith and pray together.

”You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

I will be found by you,” declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 29:13-14

Worshipping God, breaking fast together

The 21-Day Prayer and Fast culminated in the Dedication Service on Jan 21, 2024.

2,500 Trinitarians of all ages and languages packed the Sanctuary with the service livestreamed to our overseas centers.

Trinity Birmingham

For Trinity Birmingham, this was their first Dedication Service as part of the Trinity family. “It was special to join hands together as a biological and a spiritual family as we prayed together dedicating ourselves to the Lord,” said a Trinitarian in Birmingham.

“For the first time in Trinity, I was thankful to have to keep going further down into the basement carpark for a parking spot! I was awed that God’s house was filled for Dedication Service. Trinitarians were so ready to dedicate themselves to the Lord for what He is going to do,” said Nancy.

After a time of worship, Guest Speaker Pastor Ong Sek Leang, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Malaysia, and Senior Pastor of

Metro Tabernacle, led the congregation into an extended time of worship. The altar was flooded as he called Trinitarians to come forward to dedicate their lives to the Lord.

Pastor Sek Leang then declared prophetically that Trinity would experience an open door that lead to a new era of expansion in the spiritual realm.

“Dedication Service was so meaningful. I felt that it brought the church closer to actionate on Trinity 3.0. It is no longer just about fanning and rallying to the new theme but entering into the new era God has prepared us,” said Henry Tan, Leader of Chosen Vessels CG in Area 1.

TRINITARIANS TOOK TIME TO SEEK AND HEAR FROM GOD — BOTH INDIVIDUALLY AND AS A FAMILY.

I have become closer with God. When I was fasting and praying, I felt drawn to go deeper in God because I had the opportunity to spend more time praying and reading God's word. That made me hear God’s voice more clearly than ever.

I am looking forward to more new things and new ways that God will show me. I have already experienced how God has led me to adopt new ways of leading the Japanese CG, and it has been rewarding.

My heart says of You, “Seek His face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.

Psalm 27:8

IT’S LIKE THE BOOK OF ACTS COMING ALIVE!

Over these 21 days, one thing that God spoke to me about was to love souls relentlessly because of His unconditional love for them, and to take proactive steps to reach out to them.

Pastor Wan Tat Liong Chinese Ministry

Pastor TJ sensed that there was a hunger and readiness of Trinitarians to step into the new season of the church. “Rev Ong's prophetic release over the worship ministry has stirred my spirit even more to expect a greater move of God in the days ahead,” he said.

A Time of Fellowship

After Dedication Service, Trinitarians moved to various parts of Trinity Paya Lebar to break fast together. The menu selections were meat or fish porridge and a choice of two soupy sweet desserts — intentionally a soft food diet so that all of us could transition smoothly to having regular meals.

“To break fast with my faith community that journeyed together through the 21 days is sweeter than the dessert and more heartwarming than the porridge served,” said Jean.

Trinitarians in Birmingham gave thanks, “Breaking fast together was great! We had a delicious soup and got to spend quality time with the church family,”

Nancy felt that the breaking of fast together was super cool. “It’s like the book of Acts coming alive! From 21-day Prayer and Fast to the five Morning Prayers to breaking fast together,” she said.

Besides some food in the stomachs, all who attended were given a tumbler emblazoned with the new Trinity Christian Centre logo. This was to be a special gift that marked the occasion of dedicating ourselves as Trinitarians in this new chapter and season of building this church.

A New Journey, A New Beginning

With the 21 days over, the rest of the year beckons and leaves many hungry for more of God.

Our journey of encountering God does not end after these 21 days but has just begun.

Trinitarians in Birmingham are planning to make fasting and praying a regular part of their weekly routine and regular discipline in life.

Pastor TJ believes that from the beginning of service and the start of worship, the manifest presence of God will bring forth signs, wonders, and miracles.

Fern looks forward to seeing miracles happen in the lives of Trinitarians, and for us to become more like Jesus, “I am looking forward to seeing many people saved in Trinity!”

In his devotional on the last day of the 21-Day Journal, Pastor Gerald Tan, Lead Pastor of Trinity Christian Centre, aptly summed up that our journey of encountering God does not end after these 21 days but has just begun. “I am excited as we embark on this journey to love God passionately, love church zealously, and love souls relentlessly. I believe that God is preparing us to have a renewed relationship with Him, to grow in Him like never before,” he wrote.

Let’s keep growing the fervor and hunger to pray and seek God for our lives and the church. Turn to page 32 for the Teaching on Prayer.

PENTECOSTALISM

The Pentecostal movement is one of the largest and fastest-growing Christian movements in the history of the church. There are currently more than 600 million Spirit-empowered Christians who have been impacted by the rise of the Pentecostal church. This is projected to grow to a billion believers by 2050; accounting for one-third of all Christians worldwide1. This article will briefly describe the historical origin of the modern Pentecostal movement. It will then present three characteristics of the Pentecostal church and how they are expressed in Trinity Christian Centre.

History

A series of revivals broke out across the world at the beginning of the 20th century. They took place in Korea (1903, 1907), Wales (1904), India (1906), and Chile (1909). These revivals were marked by supernatural manifestations of the Holy Spirit and resulted in tremendous church growth.

Perhaps the most significant revival took place at Azusa Street, United States in 1906. Church services were held at the Apostolic Faith Mission on Azusa Street three times a day, seven days a week, for three and a half years. These services had a strong sense of God’s presence, repentance of sins, speaking in tongues, miraculous healings, and other supernatural manifestations.

People from around the world came to participate, many received salvation, others were spiritually renewed,

and more were gripped with an urgency to spread the gospel.

This revival at Azusa Street is commonly considered the birthplace of the modern Pentecostal movement. Pastors and missionaries impacted by this brought Pentecostal teachings and practices back to their churches and nations, setting off a ripple effect.

Several denominations rose out of the revival — one of them being the Assemblies of God (AG) founded in 1914. Since then, the AG has been actively engaged in evangelism and global missions, growing to become the largest Pentecostal denomination worldwide with more than 69 million members.

Trinity Christian Centre is one of the churches in this global denomination and plays an ongoing role in continuing the impact of the Pentecostal movement.

Characteristics

Three of the more distinctive and definitive characteristics of churches and believers within the Pentecostal movement are:

Firstly, the belief in the availability, desirability, and necessity of personal experiential encounters with God. Pentecostal scholar Keith Warrington describes this as the Pentecostal heartbeat — the defining core of Pentecostal spirituality. 2 This encounter possesses cognitive, visceral, and transformative elements and may occur in either individual or corporate settings.

Warrington writes, “For Pentecostals, revelation is not just intended to affect the mind but also the emotions; theology is not explored best in a rationalistic context alone but also with a readiness to encounter the divine and be impacted by one’s discoveries in a way that will enlighten the mind but also transform the life.”3 This has led Warrington to assert that Pentecostal theology is a theology of encounter.

Philosopher James Smith explains that the Pentecostal worldview is characterized by a radical openness to God.4 Pentecostals are perpetually open to encountering God and experiencing the divine in their daily life.

Emphasis on experiential encounters has led some to criticize Pentecostal theology as being centered on experience rather than on Scripture. Pentecostals reject such criticisms and assert that their expectation of divine encounters stems from diligent study of Scripture.

The book of Acts serves as a model, depicting ideal church life. It showcases the Holy Spirit's dynamic presence with miracles, healings, prophecies, visions, and speaking in tongues among the early Christians, illustrating God's active involvement in directing their lives and fulfilling His purposes. Pentecostals read the account and expect this to characterize our lives today. This radical openness to God gives rise to other characteristics of the Pentecostal movement.

2 Keith Warrington, Pentecostal Theology: A Theology of Encounter (London, UK: T&T Clark, 2008), 20.

3 Warrington, 21.

4 James K. A. Smith, Thinking in Tongues: Pentecostal Contributions to Christian Philosophy (Grand Rapids, MI: William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, 2010), 33.

Pentecostals are perpetually open to encountering God and experiencing the divine in their daily life.

Secondly, the doctrine of baptism in the Holy Spirit.5 This is the most distinguishing feature of Pentecostal denominations like the AG. Pentecostals recognize the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit in the believer at the point of conversion (John 3:5-6; Titus 3:5).

With this comes the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in all believers (Rom 8:9; 1 Cor 6:19). Beyond this, Pentecostals believe that believers should expect and seek a baptism in the Holy Spirit which is distinct and separate to regeneration (conversion) though it may occur simultaneously in some instances.

The initial physical sign of the baptism is speaking in other tongues as enabled by the Holy Spirit. This Pentecostal doctrine is based on accounts in the

book of Acts which describe various believers receiving the baptism in the Spirit (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 9:17; 10:44-48; 19:1-7). The outpouring of the Spirit on the disciples in Acts 2 serves as a paradigm for understanding the rest of the accounts.

The baptism of the disciples takes place during the Feast of Pentecost, giving rise to the name of the Pentecostal movement. The God-given sign of speaking in tongues is explicitly recorded in three accounts (Acts 2:4; 10:46; 19:6) and is widely accepted to have occurred in another (Acts 9:18). Speaking in tongues is Spirit-inspired utterances that may be a foreign language unknown to the speaker (Acts 2:6) or a heavenly language not found on earth (1 Cor 13:1).

Believers who speak in tongues communicate directly to God (1 Cor 14:2) and bring edification to themselves (1 Cor 14:4). This brings a supernatural dimension to the life of the believer in prayer and worship resulting in deepened intimacy in their relationship with God. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is never to be understood as an end in itself.

5 For a full discussion of this doctrine, see Anthony D. Palma, The Holy Spirit: A Pentecostal Perspective (Springfield, MO: Logion Press, 2001).

It aims to empower believers for life and kingdom ministry, particularly in sharing the gospel. The promise of power is inextricably linked to the purpose of bringing the gospel to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). The focus of the baptism should be on serving the church and evangelizing the world outwardly. It leads to a heightened sensitivity to the Spirit's work in believers' lives, fostering greater boldness, faith, and awareness of God's presence.

Thirdly, exercising spiritual gifts.

Pentecostals believe that God has blessed believers with spiritual gifts to minister to one another and bring edification to the body of Christ (Rom 12:4-8; 1 Cor 12:4-11; 1 Pet 4:10-11). This implies that every believer is to actively use their gifts in serving one another fostering a strong body of Christ. This understanding is commonly accepted among believers outside the Pentecostal movement.

What makes Pentecostals distinctive is our understanding of the gifts listed in 1 Cor 12:8-10. We believe that these gifts — prophecy, healing and more are still available today and that believers should be encouraged to seek and exercise them. Pentecostals disagree with the idea that extraordinary gifts were limited to the apostolic era and have ceased. Scripture does not teach

Pentecostals believe that God has blessed believers with spiritual gifts to minister to one another and bring edification to the body of Christ.

the cessation of any spiritual gift but encourages believers to eagerly desire them (1 Cor 14:1). Evidence from church history, Pentecostal revivals, and modern experiences support the continuation of miraculous gifts. Pentecostals expect the complete manifestation of all spiritual gifts in today's church, following the model presented in the book of Acts.

Expression in Trinity Christian Centre Trinity Christian Centre embodies the three characteristics described above. This is Trinity, we desire Trinity to be a church where believers encounter God in our worship services, prayer meetings, connect group gatherings, and personal moments with Him. We are radically open to God’s voice, guidance, and supernatural intervention.

We pray for divine healing for those who are sick, releasing prophetic words over each other, and trusting God to work miracles in our lives. We pray for believers to receive baptism in the Holy Spirit as a typical part of spiritual growth through which we receive power for life and ministry. Believers are also encouraged to speak in tongues in their personal devotional life and corporate times of prayer and worship. In our practice of tongues, we are mindful to ensure that everything is done in a fitting and orderly manner (1 Cor 14:40).

Trinity Christian Centre is proud to be part of a thriving global Pentecostal family that continues to emphasize the experiential presence of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the practice of spiritual gifts.

We are convicted of the urgency to share the gospel. Through our celebration services, connect groups, Spiritual Parenting classes, and Missions Impact Trips, we equip believers to seek the Holy Spirit's power as they share Jesus with their family and friends. We organize evangelistic events to communicate the gospel, plant worship centers globally, and train churches and ministers in evangelism and discipleship.

The practice of spiritual gifts is integral to the life of our church. We affirm that all members can operate in miraculous gifts like prophecy, healing, and miracles; that ministry is not restricted to pastors, and that the laity is empowered to lead at different levels in the church.

Trinity Christian Centre is a product and beneficiary of the Pentecostal movement. We are proud to be part of a thriving global Pentecostal family that continues to emphasize the experiential presence of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the practice of spiritual gifts. We desire that God may be glorified in all that we do as we seek to impact our world till Jesus returns.

Modeling After the Lord's Prayer

A Teaching on Prayer

The new Prayer Garden is a physical reminder that prayer is central to our walk with God. The Lord’s Prayer greets us as we enter the Prayer Garden.

Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, emphasizing that it should not be done ritually or mechanically. He also warned against praying pretentiously to appear more religious (Matt 6:5-8).

How then should we pray?

We can draw three principles from the model Jesus presented in The Lord’s Prayer.

Principle #1 Be God-focused.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name...” – Matthew 6:9

The Greek word for pray (pros-euchomai) has two parts. The first part (pros) means to face toward.

Prayer is first and foremost about us turning Godward to behold God and acknowledge Him for who He is. The Triune Creator God of heaven, earth, and all creatures. The One who is exalted in heavenly places, above all principalities and powers. The omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient LORD overall. He is our Heavenly Father who loves us and adopts us as His children. He is to be worshipped and reverenced. He is worthy of all praise, all adoration, and great is His name!

We pray to know, to commune with, and to worship God. Prayer draws us near to our loving Heavenly Father and we find peace in His presence,

gaining perspective and aligning our lives to His will.

When praying, start by declaring who God is, focusing on Him before your requests. Whether alone, with family, in groups, or as a church, begin by acknowledging and praising God for His character and attributes.

Principle #2 Be Kingdom-focused.

” ...your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

– Matthew 6:10

The second part of the Greek word for pray (euchomai) comes from the idea of expressing a wish. Is this where we present our requests to our Heavenly Father? Well, not yet.

Jesus taught the disciples to prioritize praying for God’s kingdom to come and God’s will to be done.

This highlights the reality that the world is currently under the rule of the enemy, whose agenda is contrary to God’s. (John 12:31, 14:30, 2 Cor 4:4).

Our role as citizens of the Kingdom of God is to desire and pray for the rule and reign of God to take effect in this fallen world through us, in our families, communities, our nation, and in this world.

Through prayer, we also align to God’s will, so that like Jesus, we may walk in obedience to the Father’s will (John 4:38, 6:38-40, 26:39). If Jesus had to withdraw to pray regularly (Mark 1:35, Luke 5:16, Matt 14:23), how much more should we?

Principle #3

Petition out of dependence on God.

Finally, we make supplication for our personal needs! Jesus’ model for prayer grounds us in the essence of what we should petition for: provision (v11), grace for others (v12), and strength to overcome the enemy (v13).

Provision

“Give us today our daily bread.”

– Matthew 6:11

We humbly recognize our dependence on our Provider for sustenance and livelihood, and that we will not slip into self-sufficiency and independence from God.

Grace for others

“And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”

– Matthew 6:12

We acknowledge our need for God's mercy and forgiveness by extending the same to others. When we feel anger or resentment, we can seek God's grace to love and relate to others.

Strength to overcome the enemy

“ ...and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

– Matthew 6:13

We are not ignorant of the enemy of our souls. Be it temptation, suffering, trial, or persecution; we depend on our mighty God who alone delivers us.

I often bring a heavy heart to God, but prayer always transforms and empowers me. This is the power of prayer as we turn our gaze Godward, seeking and embracing His will, to utterly depend on Him. We are called to be a praying people, and this is how we reflect Christ to the world. It is a privilege as children of God, to be able to approach the throne of mercy and effect His will on earth through prayer.

May Trinity always be God-focused, Kingdom-focused, and utterly dependent on God. Imagine the transformation and empowerment we will experience for God's glory and purposes!

We can take classes, we should read books, but we must pray.

Design of Family

The family is fundamental to human society, and universally recognized as essential for human well-being across cultures and history. In the church, the family holds significant importance as it reflects the image of God, the relationship between God and the church, and serves as a context for spiritual growth and development.

As believers, we know that the family is ordained by God and not a sociological invention. We therefore need to understand God’s design and desire for the family so that we can nurture healthy families within our community of faith. 1

Understanding God’s design for the family must begin with the biblical account of creation. In Gen 1:27, God created humans as male and female. The first man and woman were made in the image of God — meaning we possess certain attributes of God and are to reflect it.

One attribute is the relational nature of God. Humans have a God-reflecting capacity for interpersonal relationships. This was first expressed when Adam a man, and Eve, a woman were given in marriage to each other (Gen 2:21-24). Marriage was to provide love and companionship that cannot be obtained elsewhere. Children are the result of the marriage union, expanding and deepening the richness of relationships in the family (Gen 1:28). Hence, family relationships should first be understood as a reflection of the relationships within the divine community of the Trinity. The family should reflect the love, unity, mutual support, and interdependence of the Trinity.

Building on the family as a reflection of Trinitarian relationality, Jack and Judith Balswick have proposed four elements

for a healthy family. These elements are covenantal love, grace, empowerment, and intimacy. 2 These elements build on one another, resulting in a spiral of growth and maturity over time.

The first element is covenantal love found within marriage and family. Marriage is not a contract, or a human agreement as suggested by some.

Instead, marriage is a sacred covenant before God between one man and one woman that requires unconditional love, commitment, and faithfulness. God is the ultimate model of covenantal love in His pursuit of humanity and in giving Jesus as a sacrifice to redeem us from sin (1 John 4:9-10). We are now called to display the same self-giving and self-sacrificing love to one another within our family (1 John 4:11, 19). Husbands and wives are to mutually love and submit to one another as a reflection of the relationship between Jesus and the Church (Eph 5:21-33).

1 The thoughts and insights presented in this article are drawn from Jack O. Balswick and Judith K. Balswick, The Family: A Christian Perspective on the Contemporary Home, 4th ed. (Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Academic, 2014).

2 Balswick and Balswick, 7-18.

In Trinity, we value family as a building block of the church. We recognize God's design for the family and seek to equip believers in building covenantal love, grace, empowerment, and intimacy in their families.

The second is the element of grace which extends from covenantal love. Grace is active when we lovingly give to family members without expecting anything in return. In freely giving, we reflect the grace and generosity of God. Grace is also displayed when we extend forgiveness and reconciliation to one another (Eph 4:32; Col 3:13). Conflicts and hurts can arise within families because we are all imperfect. However, by God’s grace, we are enabled to forgive, bringing healing and restoration.

Empowerment is the third element of a healthy family. The Balswicks describe family empowerment as assisting each member in realizing and reaching their God-given potential. Just as we are called to build up one another in the body of Christ (1 Thess 5:11), we should build up one another within the family. This is done through guidance, prayer, encouragement, and discipline.

Empowerment takes place most naturally within parent-child relationships as parents disciple their children to grow in godly character and biblical wisdom (Deut 11:18-21; Eph 6:4).

Covenantal love, grace, and empowerment naturally foster the fourth element, intimacy. Intimacy comes when we can be transparent and communicate without fear. Humans can form deep intimate relationships due to our capacity for interpersonal connections. A family characterized by unconditional love, grace, forgiveness, and empowerment fosters trust, acceptance, security, and intimacy — reflecting God's desire for us.

As mentioned, these elements form a spiral of growth. Covenantal love and commitment lead to grace. Both love and grace support the empowerment of family members. This then produces intimacy which spirals back to a deepened covenantal love and commitment. Resulting in growth and maturity in the family unit.

While often falling short of healthy family standards; with God's love, grace, and miraculous intervention, imperfect families can still enjoy the thriving relationships God designed for us.

In Trinity, we value family as a building block of the church. We recognize God's design for the family and seek to equip believers in building covenantal love, grace, empowerment, and intimacy in their families. Hence, Trinity Academy (TA) offers a pre-marital equipping class called Before You Say Yes for every couple who wants to get married in our church.

Couples will learn about God’s design and purpose for marriage; roles and responsibilities within marriage, practical financial management, dealing with in-laws, and family planning. In addition, TA offers courses on topics like strengthening your marriage, healthy communication, and parenting children of different ages, to equip Trinitarians in building healthy families. Post-marriage, marriage mentors are assigned to journey with newlyweds for up to a year.

We believe in reaching and discipling children and youth through our vibrant DiscoveryLand, IGNYTE, and Campus ministries. These ministries focus on nurturing the next generation in their faith and spiritual growth through the Word of God. They recognize the family's role in faith and character development, actively involving and supporting parents with biblical content, events, and activities.

In connect groups, we provide children’s programs so that children (Ages 4-12) are being discipled just as their parents are during the time.

In church services, we discuss practical family topics in sermons, encouraging the congregation to apply biblical principles at home. We annually celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day to honor parents and families. During prayer gatherings, we involve Trinitarians in praying for marriages and the next generation.

The Christian family stands as a powerful witness to the world. We reflect the relational nature of God. We model love, grace, empowerment, and intimacy to a world that is hungry for them. The Christian family displays the transformative power of God in bringing healing and restoration in fractured and dysfunctional relationships. May the families in Trinity continue to shine for God in our world today!

NURSERY

Nursery

Children's Ministry

Birth - Age 4

In Trinity, every child is precious and loved. Newborns to 1-year-olds experience God’s love through the care and love of our servers in Nursery. Children are prayed over and taught that they are fearfully and wonderfully made by God — the Creator of heaven and earth.

In Nursery 2, toddlers from age 1 to 2.5 years learn to praise God and are exposed to Bible stories.

We believe in starting children on the right path so that when they are old, they will not turn away from it.

(Prov 22:6) Hence, children are taught to memorize Bible verses at a young age.

Nursery 3 toddlers, aged 2.5 to 4 years, encounter God through a time of worship and listening to Bible Stories. Children experience life by making friends through games and activities. They are also taught to bless God through their offerings and faith promises.

Parents disciple their children at home by utilizing Nursery Linktree to access the Power Word actions and weekly family activities. These tools help to extend the learning into the home setting.

Testimonies from parents whose children attend Nursery:

Jessie Chew

“Let the little children come to Me, do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matt 19:14)

We are grateful that our son Isaac can come to Jesus through Trinity's Nursery program. We are amazed to see Issac’s understanding of God deepen over the years. He loves to sing songs he has learned during worship and the handouts have been a great tool for sharing Bible stories. Children are never too young to learn about God, and to encounter Him in a personal way.

Peishan on Thomas Thomas loves nursery because it's a world of discovery where he can play, learn, and socialize with other kids. The activities in Linktree are invaluable, keeping us informed on what he's learning. He's consistently growing and thriving.

We hope other parents see the benefit and allow their kids to be exposed to God’s love!

Anna looks forward to Nursery. She likes the stickers she is given and is excited about putting her offering in the offertory box. She enjoys music and movement and likes doing the actions to the songs learned at nursery.

Her favorite song is My God Is So Big, So Strong And So Mighty. Through Bible stories and lessons, Anna is learning about the great and mighty God who loves her very much. We are grateful for the team who reflect God's love for the children.

Justina

We are thankful for Nursery teachers who take the time and effort to sow into our children’s lives, making every week’s program fun and enriching. Our daughter, Audrey, enjoys the songs, the crafts, and Power Word shared weekly. Recently when we asked her what’s the most important thing, it surprised us when she said, “Walking with Jesus!“

We believe in starting children on the right path so that when they are old, they will not turn away from it.

James Fowler said, “They don’t have formalized religious beliefs. It is more experiential, and faith develops through encounters with stories, images, the influence of others, and a deeper intuitive sense of what is right and wrong. They readily embrace what is being taught to and modeled for them.”

We believe that every child has a purpose in God and is blessed with gifts and talents.

Indeed, the Children’s Ministry aims to instill God's truth in every 4 to 9-year-old who comes into our care. God’s Word is taught through skits, drama, songs, games, and other engaging activities.

Through worship, we lead children to enter the presence of God, allowing them to think on and sing scriptural songs unto the Lord. We strive to create a safe environment where children can encounter God, learn scripture, and model good attitudes and behaviors to one another.

They grow in faith when they ask questions and find biblical answers, deepening their understanding of God. Ultimately, we pray that each child will come to know Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.

Parents and guardians play a key role in helping children grow in the faith. Thus, we partner and share information with parents so that discipleship is continued at home. Resources at our linktree provide weekly sermon notes, lesson summaries,

verses for Time Alone with God as well as tips to empower parents on how to disciple their children.

We believe that every child has a purpose in God and is blessed with gifts and talents. Hence, we encourage children to utilize their gifts to serve as a celebration host, the worship team, and a Communion server at a young age. Younger children are given simpler tasks like welcoming others into service or distributing materials, while older children take on roles to guide younger peers.

Through serving, children learn to put others before themselves, be responsible, and exercise initiative. We believe these experiences cultivate a heart of service and a deeper love for God and His people.

Children thrive having a sense of purpose and grow in maturity when given age-appropriate responsibilities. We want to foster a desire in

them to serve in God’s house, forge a connection to the ministry, and gain a deeper understanding of the faith through service. Serving alongside each other also creates the opportunity to make friends! Building strong and positive friendships from an early age is key in discipleship and growth of children.

Children experience life together with peers enjoying fun-filled activities, serving alongside one another while learning God’s Word together. These dynamic group games and small group discussions allow children to air views, ask questions, and practice active listening, creating a vibrant and interactive safe environment where children can learn, build lasting connections, and grow in the Lord!

DISCOVERYLAND

DiscoveryLand Children's Ministry

Pre-Teens (Ages 10 - 12)

We believe that the young generation can rise to be leaders for God. Children are not only leaders of tomorrow but are leaders at present.

In raising pre-teens to become leaders, our focus is to help them realize their God-given destinies and their identity in Christ. This anchors their understanding of who they are, why they are here, and what they should do. We also hope to instill qualities that enable them to have a godly impact on the people they meet.

We create programs integrating faith-building, character development, and service-mindedness to others. Each Pre-Teen possesses unique talents and gifts bestowed upon them by God, and we want to nurture these gifts by providing them with avenues to utilize them.

With serving opportunities, they will grow to become leaders in their communities. In practical terms, this involves identifying individuals with leadership potential and entrusting them with leadership responsibilities within small groups, empowering them to lead and serve with excellence.

Faith-building is also emphasized throughout our curriculum. We teach them to embrace their spiritual journey and empower them to live according to God's purpose for their lives.

Our Pre-Teen evangelists are a notable development within the ministry. Certain pre-teens were identified through our leadership program to have the gift of evangelism. Their gift is nurtured by equipping them with knowledge of the Word and confidence to share their faith with others. These young evangelists preach at events, sharing God’s hope and love with peers, leading many to accept Jesus. Seeing their impact inspires us to nurture more talents and involve more pre-teens in evangelism.

Looking forward, we see a generation of pre-teens who will rise in leadership, excel in their God-given gifts and talents, and actively contribute to the growth and vibrancy of ministry and the church.

In raising pre-teens to become leaders, our focus is to help them realize their God-given destinies and their identity in Christ.

Torah Wee, Primary 5

Ever since I was in Primary 1, whenever I looked in the mirror, I always thought I looked fat and ugly. I would look at others and admire how good they look. I kept telling myself that I was fat and ugly. I felt lousy and unlovable.

During one of the pre-teens Saturday services, Pastor Lee Mei Yee talked about Psalms 139:14 which says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

She shared how this verse tells us we are wonderfully made by God and loved by Him. We are to treasure ourselves and live by how God sees us, not by our views or what the world says.

Then, I felt God’s presence, and He told me, I am His child. There was nothing to worry about myself. He said I should be who I truly am.

Now, I feel very secure about myself. I am happy to be who I am. I know that God created me wonderfully.

HIS PURPOSE, OUR GENERATION

God wants to profoundly impact this generation today. He has given every IGNYTEr the purpose to arise as a God-fearing generation, empowered by the Holy Spirit to walk in righteousness and good works, bearing His light in this world of darkness. (Eph. 2:10).

We will encounter God, experience life, and impact our world in ways no prior generation had seen before; nothing will stop us from fulfilling God’s purpose as we pursue Him, grow in connect groups (CG) and Serving Opportunities, winning souls for Jesus today!

YOUTHS WALKING IN GOD’S PURPOSE

Stephen Liew Secondary Zone

Witnessing Acts 2 come alive

In 2022, there was a call to serve in IGNYTE Bukit Batok (BB). I felt a strong leading and burden by God to respond. I have been blessed by how the biblical community at BB exemplifies godly unity. We gathered weekly eagerly to pray, praise God, and encounter Him through His Word. Even outside, we continued to testify of God's goodness, having meals together, rejoicing, and praying for one another. We experienced abundant life, seeing how the Lord added to our numbers those being saved! First-time comers were touched by God's love through IGNYTErs. Acts 2 came alive when we saw these new friends become rooted in our CGs and started serving as well!

I am excited at how God has moved beyond our church gatherings and into our schools. God stirred a fire in the hearts of a junior (a fellow BB IGNYTEr) and I, to see a revival in our school. We started a prayer group and through constant praying; witnessed students getting saved and healing taking place right in our school. Praise God!

We will encounter God, experience life, and impact our world in ways no prior generation had seen before.

Loving God by Building His House ”Serving should always push you to love God more,” Pastor Jonathan Foo once told me. This propelled me to serve God faithfully. 2018 when I was still in Secondary 1, a leader asked me why I wanted to serve. My answer was simple, I wanted to love God more.

As I serve in the various ministries, God has encountered me in ways I never imagined. When I see His magnificent glory and presence sweep across IGNYTErs as they worship — it is an honor and privilege to partner God to facilitate worship services!

God doesn't need me, yet He chooses to work through me, allowing me to encounter Him as I help others encounter Him! In hindsight, I can say with absolute certainty that God has grown my capacity to love Him more through serving.

Journeying With

A Biblical Community

Loving God is a journey that cannot be defined in one moment; it’s an ongoing choice. My IGNYTE community has helped me discover what it means to grow in loving God more.

Each time, God spoke to me through pastors and leaders who guided, checked up on me, and provided wise counsel. They point me to God and challenge me, ensuring that my foundation is built on God-centered truths!

As a vocalist on the worship team, I've learned that true worship goes beyond preferences or skills. Sharing what God is doing in our hearts during debriefing and interceding in prayer has taught me to offer myself as a pleasing sacrifice to God, neglect my flesh, and move in His Spirit.

I've abandoned wrongful mindsets previously held; one of which was to focus on myself and my limitations rather than on God who is omnipotent.

My CG has blessed and inspired me to fix my eyes on Jesus as I continue to walk in God’s purpose!

RAISING A GENERATION OF DISCIPLE-MAKERS

Together with the IGNYTE pastoral team, adult leaders play a vital role in discipling the youth to become disciple-makers themselves! Hear their conviction as they pour time, talents, and treasures into IGNYTErs.

My choice to serve as a leader in IGNYTE is rooted in my passion for guiding youths away from worldly influences, towards a path grounded in God's Word. Life as a university student is challenging, but I know that God has called me to be committed to raising a generation that is unafraid to live out their God-given identity!

It continues to be my privilege as an instrument of God — entrusted to shepherd, support, and empower IGNYTErs as they navigate through life's challenges and grow in their God-given purpose amidst the complexities of the world.

Darienne Sim Tertiary Zone Leader (back row, 1st from right)

I stepped into IGNYTE as an adult leader in 2017, with a desire to sow into the lives of young people, certain that God would equip and empower me to do it. Almost seven years later, that same passion underpins my interaction with each youth even as I’ve gone from being a university student to a working adult, I’m continually filled with joy in serving God’s house and His people.

My circumstances have changed, but God hasn’t. He is still, as He will always be, the one who enables me to carry out His good work, whether in ministry or the marketplace!

Lawrence Eng Armed Forces Leader (in blue)

I joined Trinity in September 1987, and in 2021, God laid a burden on my heart for the National Service (NS) boys of IGNYTE. Despite concerns about my age, I proceeded to obey God — to sow into the precious lives of these young men.

The rest is history, and for the past three years, I have led the Armed Forces (AF) section with great joy, witnessing the transformation of many. In one such story, a young man encountered God through AF and this led to him bringing his entire family back to God last December. All glory to God!

I know that God has called me to be committed to raising a generation that is unafraid to live out their God-given identity!

CAMPUS

Campus Ministry

The Campus Ministry is made up of students from universities. Every Campus student is formed by God, consecrated, and commissioned for His purpose and mission (Jer 1:5).

Discipleship during their days on Campus is crucial, as it prepares them before they transition into the next season of their life marked with numerous crossroads and decision-making.

Campus students are discipled to navigate their world and make a meaningful impact. Discipleship occurs through many forms and across platforms, including yearly camps, workshops, weekly connect group meetings, and small group discipling sessions.

In their journey, Campus students receive and internalize biblical truths. They are committed to living consecrated lives characterized by godly character, conviction, and commitment.

The commissioning to impact their world begins right where they are, on campus extending into their future professional lives. Campus students acknowledge God's strategic placement in their specific university and field of study.

It is the heartbeat of the Campus Ministry to see a revival in this generation.

They are a prophetic voice to their generation, taught to be culturally aware, yet spiritually discerning. It is the heartbeat of the Campus Ministry to see a revival in this generation.

In loving souls relentlessly, members actively seek and seize opportunities to connect with peers, sharing the gospel with passion.

Each week, members meet for connect group meetings on their campuses. Life is experienced as they gather, fellowship, and grow in their faith together. They experience joy in seeing the unchurched receive biblical teachings and come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Campus Students' Journey

Joash Cheng

Coming into campus ministry, I was blessed to have my adult Connect Leader journey alongside me in my transition to university life. I recall at the start of university, I felt lost and stressed about facing a new environment and concerned about juggling the many commitments.

Through these struggles, my leaders spoke God's truth into my life and pointing me back to His Word. My leaders made time before service and during lunch breaks to find out how I was doing in school and life in general. Their love and intentional discipling made me feel God's love reaching out to me in my dire circumstances, never giving up and always pursuing me.

I have been so blessed and in turn, I want to do the same for those I disciple in my connect group, so that they may also experience God's relentless love and grow to be people after God's heart.

My leaders' love and intentional discipling made me feel God's love reaching out to me in my dire circumstances, never giving up and always pursuing me.

My leader constantly points me toward God and models for me what it means to love and serve God passionately.

Brenda Lee

I have been blessed by the discipleship through Campus Ministry. My leader constantly points me toward God and models for me what it means to love and serve God passionately. Despite her busy work schedule, she would always make time for connect group and to serve.

In the workshops, I am mentored to develop a relentless love for souls. One recent workshop allowed me to realize and overcome certain misconceptions and fear of failure in evangelizing.

During my recent catch-up with a friend, she told me she was exploring Christianity upon hearing what God has been doing in my life. When I realized that nothing was hindering her from accepting Christ, I took the chance to guide her to Him, even though I was initially hesitant because I had never led a friend to Christ before. I am thankful I overcame the fear and uncertainty as she is now a follower of Jesus and learning more about Him daily. We have also just finished our first session of going through New Life together!

Praise the Lord! During the 21-day prayer and fast this year, I prayed earnestly to the Lord for my family members’ salvation. God showed me a vision of my father coming to know and accept Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior.

On the night of Jan 20, I boldly shared with my father about Jesus and the good news together with my mother and sister. And my father decided to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior right there and then. All glory to God!

We are thrilled by God’s leading, as we have been praying for my father’s salvation for the last 10 years and on that night God answered that prayer! Thank you Lord!

The atmosphere is lively, and the people always watch out for me.

When restrictions were lifted the congregation went back to worshipping on-site. Finally joining for on-site services, Paula experienced God's presence and love, she shared, “I am thankful to God that He has changed my life. I want to thank my sister for bringing me to Trinity’s Filipino Ministry. Being with them makes me feel incredibly blessed. The atmosphere is lively, and the people always watch out for me.

“I thank God for giving me this wonderful family and friends who bless me daily with kind words and actions. Being with them, I've learned to appreciate everything daily. I’ve learned to pray for others, share the Gospel, and most importantly learn how to spend time alone with God. All Glory to God!“

Paula has since been baptized and is a registered church member of Trinity. She is part of a connect group and is serving as a Celebration Host. She has also invited many friends to attend service.

I thank God for giving me this wonderful family and friends.

Connect Group Meetings

Connect groups are one of the key components to the growth of the Filipino Ministry. With 5 groups currently active, they play a crucial role in nurturing and discipling both new and existing members.

Connect groups are held on Sundays, as that is the off day for many of our members. After lunch, different connect groups would gather for fellowship and discipleship.

Our Events & Activities

Filipino Ministry's monthly Prayer Meeting and Intercession is held every first Sunday of the month. We have seen a rise in attendance, first-time visitors, and membership. To accommodate this, the ministry has moved to Theatrette 2 which holds up to 300 people.

Furthermore, due to the Holy Spirit's powerful work within the congregation, there has also been an increase in altar call responses.

Aside from regular Sunday services, prayer meetings, and connect group meetings, we either organize or participate in these yearly events:

Presentations

One to two dramas presentations or illustrated sermons telling of God's goodness and saving grace through Jesus.

Connect Group Day

An afternoon of fun and games that highlights the purpose and importance of being in a connect group.

Employers' Appreciation Sunday

Employers of Filipino Ministry members are invited for a Sunday afternoon gathering for fellowship and fun with employees and other ministry members. This event aims to strengthen relationships through shared activities and experiences.

Christmas Party

With some members unable to return to the Philippines for Christmas, this event provides a sense of connection and belonging to their spiritual family during the festive period.

LANGUAGE

Water Baptism Service

Held twice a year, this service allows believers to take the step of obedience in declaring their faith in Jesus publicly. Baptism candidates also bear witness of the life-changing love and saving grace of God through Jesus Christ to pre-believers.

Life Skills Seminars

Launched in 2001 under Pastors Carmelo and Michelle Dolendo, it has grown from offering two to now five seminars, namely: Computer Literacy, Dressmaking, Cosmetology, Home Business Class, and Reflexology. These courses equip Filipinos in Singapore with skills for their return home, while coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Missions Weekend

The Filipino Ministry also participates in Missions Week by dressing in traditional Filipino costumes, as well as showcasing traditional Filipino folk dance.

The Filipino Ministry has impacted and discipled many Filipinos working and living in Singapore. We are thankful that as members return to the Philippines or move elsewhere, they carry the ministry's teachings and skills, and continue to impact others by giving the gospel for the glory of God!

Yolanda

Recently graduated from the Computer Literacy Class, Yolanda enthusiastically shares about God's goodness.

“I was introduced to Trinity by a friend last year, and actively engaged in services after joining the class. Despite facing difficulties, I experience God's presence and peace. I sought advice and prayers from a Trinitarian volunteer, and God answered by providing for my mother's medical needs.

“I am grateful for Trinity's Filipino Ministry. I enjoy attending services and have enrolled in another course.“

Ministry

We started on Jul 28, 1996, when we observed numerous Indonesian domestic helpers waiting and chatting while their employers and children were in the English and Children's services. Our intention was to engage and minister to them in their native language.

LANGUAGE

The main members were formed from the English congregation, all of whom could converse in basic Bahasa Indonesian.

Musicians came from the English congregation and other volunteers were Indonesian students and professionals working in Singapore.

Early challenges

To address the shortage of people proficient in Bahasa Indonesia, we enlisted the help of TCA College students, who took turns to preach and anchor the ministry. At times, we also invited Indonesian pastors from other Singapore churches to preach in our services.

Now we have raised home grown pastors and ministers alongside core leaders who also serve as interpreters. We continue to have volunteers from the English congregation who serve as musicians and in the tech team.

80 percent of the Indonesian Ministry are predominately Indonesian domestic helpers. The rest are Indonesian and Malay-speaking members as well as Malaysians who work in Singapore but live in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Activities

Throughout the year, we organize events, including significant ones like Easter, Independence Day, and Christmas, which are focused on evangelism. We also have smaller events like revival meeting services and connect group games day.

Typically, a couple of weeks before these events, we dedicate a Sunday to prayer walking and another to inviting people to join us.

Our events tend to attract about twice the usual number of attendees. Independence Day, our biggest event welcomes over 200 people.

Trinity becomes a home away from home for our congregation, where many look forward to Sundays to connect with God and their spiritual family.

For this, we have a carnival featuring Indonesian food and games culminating with a seminar providing practical tips for daily living.

Weekly Service and Fellowship in Trinity Paya Lebar

• Service at 11am

• Community lunch at the Rooftop

• Connect Group (CG) meetings

• Trinity Academy classes on some afternoons

To honor God on Communion Weekends and special occasions, we dress our best in Batik. Wearing Batik also reflects our cultural identity as Indonesians and Malaysians, fostering a welcoming and warm atmosphere for our guests.

Yatemi

I’m from a non-Christian family. Since young, I was fanatical and hated people who were of other faiths. But God had other plans for me. I married a Christian! After marriage, I went to work for a Christian employer in Malaysia and got to know about Jesus but did not know God personally yet. When I came to Singapore and attended Trinity and a CG, I encountered God. It made me yearn to know God more every day.

Timid and lacking confidence, I was not able to pray aloud or pray for people. However, after attending the Spiritual Parent class, the Holy Spirit transformed me. I am now a Prayer Warrior. My life, character, and perspective have changed. Now with Jesus, I can face life’s storms with confidence.

I am passionate about telling others how much God loves me and how He changed my life! I prayed for my employer and family to receive Jesus. They became Christians and I can see God's presence upon them. They speak about God all the time, especially my employer's brother who used to be mean and stingy; now he is kind and generous. He is even attending church!

I always ask God who He wants me to minister to every Sunday. One Sunday, God sent me to an Indonesian helper who had a problem.

I prayed for her and invited her to our Christmas event. During the Christmas event, God empowered me to share the gospel using the bridge illustration; after which I invited her to receive Christ. Praise God, she received salvation that day!

My CG and I also prayed for my family and my husband's family who are back in Indonesia. My husband’s family has a lot of problems, and they do not talk to one another. When they talk, they fight.

When I went back last month, I gathered seven of them at my house and God empowered me to share the gospel and speak with authority, urging them to forgive one another. God brought reconciliation to my family! They hugged and forgave each other. They even wanted to know more about Jesus and now they all attend church!

I always pray for my family so that they too will experience Jesus. I thank God because in Trinity I encountered God, experienced life, and gained courage and urgency to reach souls.

After attending the Spiritual Parent class, the Holy Spirit transformed me. I am now a Prayer Warrior. My life, character, and perspective have changed. Now with Jesus, I can face life’s storms with confidence.

Japanese Ministry

Launched in Jul 2012 to reach the Japanese population for Jesus Christ, Trinity's Japanese Ministry (JM) has blessed many over the past 11 years.

JM hosts an annual Japanese New Year Party where members, family and friends come together to enjoy home-cooked Japanese dishes providing a home away from home experience! Tobita-san and family attended the event and were touched by a Trinitarian who reflected Christ’s love. Tobita-san accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour that day! Praise God!

JM conducts English classes for the Japanese community and JM Nursery commits to sowing the Word of God with children's worship songs, bible stories, and fun activities.

There were two first-time visitors who raised their hands indicating they wanted Jesus to be their friend, after we shared using the God Loves Me track. Hallelujah!

Our Services Held on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays every month at Trinity Paya Lebar, with Japanese interpretation

Since the onset of COVID-19, we have had attendees based in Japan joining us regularly for service and Connect Group using Zoom. Yoshie Nakazumi (Lady in top row, center) received the gift of salvation during one of these meetings on Zoom!

Ayano Shingai

God placed Ayano-san in Singapore for work where she came to faith in Jesus while attending Trinity. During the four years in Trinity JM, she was restored and set free from her fear of men through Divine Exchange Wholeness (DEW) ministry sessions and discovered her God-given destiny through Spiritual Parenting Training. She is now happily married to Ippei Mori whom she met in Trinity JM. They are currently serving in Tokyo Urban Church.

Mitsuko Hidaka

After attending the Spiritual Parenting class, Mitsuko-san felt a sense of urgency to share the Good News.

Although she was not confident, the Holy Spirit helped her to share her testimony boldly with a Japanese stranger during “salting”. Since then, she has been more intentional in inviting her friends to JM services/events despite battling chronic illness. We are praying and trusting God for her full restoration before her water baptism this year.

Maki Kuratani

(Lady in peach blouse, back row, right)

When Maki-san first came to JM, she was unfamiliar with Japanese worship songs. She desired to learn more Japanese worship songs so that she could sing along and worship God together. She decided to take it to the Lord in prayer.

Maki was amazed that a few weeks later, she was invited to join the worship team! She felt so loved by God! She marveled at how God encountered her and fulfilled her small request above and beyond by placing her to serve on the worship team.

Our desire and prayer is for every Japanese person in Trinity to encounter God, experience life abundantly, and go out to impact our world wherever God leads.

Thai Ministry

Thanks to the substantial number of Thais employed in Singapore, our Thai Ministry seized the opportunity to engage and get to know them.

One such individual, formerly employed in construction, experienced the transformative impact in the Thai Ministry. At a conference, he approached Pastor Melanie to share his story, expressing his deep gratitude. He highlighted that the teaching and disciplinghe received here helped direct him to become a Pastor serving his people back in Thailand.

Wanna

He had come to Singapore to work as a construction worker and providentially got connected with the ministry and was led to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! He is now serving as an Associate Pastor back in Thailand. Glory to Jesus!

Weekly Service and Lunch Fellowship in Trinity Paya Lebar, followed by:

Week 1 – Prayer Meeting

Weeks 2 & 3 – Connect Group Meeting

Week 4 – Worship Practice

Wanna had been suffering from numbness in her limbs after the COVID-19 vaccination jab. She faced difficulty walking due to the immobility of one side of her body. She also experienced breathing difficulties. With her health declining she missed church for a week. Yet Wanna was resolute in not letting her condition prevent her from attending church. Hence, she decided to pray on Saturday night, asking God to help her come to church somehow.

The next day, she attended Sunday service, despite the pain. Knowing this, we prayed for God’s healing to be upon her during service. Later during the Connect Group meeting, she realized that all the pain and discomfort had left her body. Her limbs were fully restored! Gratefully, she shared her testimony to glorify God for His miraculous healing!

“Praise God for His kindness in healing my numb limbs. And my breathing has improved. Thank you for the words of prayer from all brothers and sisters. May God strengthen and bless you. Thank God, Amen.”

Creative Ministry

In our services, we envision every congregant encountering God in a very tangible and personal way right from the start. The call to lead the church in worship is a serious responsibility not taken lightly. Everything that takes place in Creative Ministry is an avenue for discipleship, to love God passionately, church zealously, and souls relentlessly.

Creative Ministry (CM) is made up of people from different backgrounds, generations, and skill sets coming together to glorify God. We grow in our calling through sessions of impartation from Lead Pastor Gerald Tan, CM Pastors, and guest speakers. When we receive the impartation from our Lead Pastor, we hear his heart and we align in our spirit as a team.

Worship Team

Our Worship Team is made up of musicians such as keyboardists, acoustic guitarists, electric guitarists, bassists, drummers, and vocalists who serve in the choir and as co-leaders.

In scripture, the Levites were the ones set apart for service unto God and their inheritance was not land like the rest of the tribes, but God himself. Their role was to lead, safeguard, and set the tone of how to worship God for the rest of the nation to follow.

Similarly, the role of CM goes beyond a serving opportunity, it is a call to be consecrated and model worship for the church by pouring extravagant praise and adoration to God.

Worship is first God-focused, God-exalting. It is about inviting the manifest presence of God, facilitating the power of God and those precious God-encounters. Whether we stand, kneel and sing, it is not just about being participative, but about engaging in the time of worship. As a Pentecostal church, we embrace singing in tongues and free worship, as much as we sing hymns and contemporary worship songs.

Our song choices comprise a variety of genres and eras, because we are a church for everyone, a church that engages different demographics so we can be focused on God during the times of worship.

Kimberly leads worship on our weekend services. She recounts her journey in CM since tertiary camp in IGNYTE where she had a vision of a girl singing on stage in the Sanctuary.

She recalls, “This vision came as I was seeking God on a major life decision. I had just joined Trinity and discounted the vision as a figment of my desire and forgot about it. However, when I joined Campus Ministry, God reminded me of the vision.

“Despite having stage fright, I auditioned for CM and began serving as a co-leader. My greatest joy in serving in CM has been the numerous times God met me. I used to think it would be hard to encounter God amidst the pressures of serving, but God has helped me let go of those fears and simply enjoy His presence as I serve Him.”

Serving on the Worship Team requires continuous growth both in heart and skills. We partner with the Holy Spirit in leading people into transformative encounters with God. CM values a “spirit of excellence“ in all who serve!

Technical Team

Our Technical Team facilitates services, productions and livestreams to provide the best experience to all who tune into or attend Trinity’s services and events.

• The Audio Department is responsible for mixing sound for both live and online congregations.

• The Video Team connects people with the activity within the Sanctuary. Using angled shots, they capture the celebration of God and His work among His people in praise, preaching, and altar responses.

• The Lighting Team employs fixtures utilizing colors, shapes, tempos, and movements to visually express worship.

• The Streaming Team brings God-encounters from Trinity’s weekly livestreams to people and homes all over the globe.

Serving on the Technical Team requires continual growth and learning to operate equipment and technology to facilitate effective media production of our services.

Marcus Cheng Video Team

I currently serve on the Video Team and have been doing so since 2003. Over the years, the advancement in audio and video technology has certainly enhanced the entire service experience but it has also increased the complexity in operations — where on-the-job training, up-skilling, and changes to service flow have become essential in our operations.

However, I strongly believe that the heartbeat to serve God and His people among the volunteers, past and present, has remained the same. It has been this heartbeat that always encourages me to continue serving.

Worship is never about the preference for our songs or styles, but about focusing on the God we worship.

- Lead Pastor Gerald Tan

Creative Arts Team

Our Creative Arts Team engages volunteers who come together to creatively present the gospel so that people can encounter and know God personally.

We are constantly looking out for individuals to contribute as script writers, stage designers, creative directors, and props & sets teams.

God has provided us people with talent and the willingness to create productions for Easter and Christmas to bring people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Jeffrey Tang shares, “I was introduced to Trinity in 1987 by Pastor Edward. Since then, I began serving in the Sound Team and was involved in various TCC productions like the Easter productions He Chose the Nails, How Great Thou Art, Heaven's Gates Hell's Flames and more.

“I joined because I wanted to learn about production, having been interested in AV/Sound since secondary school. I wanted to use my skills for God and preferred serving behind the scenes.

“During one production, I had a chat with a young cast member. He asked if it was my first time serving, and I shared that I had served in almost every Easter and Christmas production at Trinity, including the Singing Christmas Tree at the current Ion Orchard location. He smiled and shared that both his parents were saved during one of the presentations.

“Wow! That made my day and affirmed my role in helping to win souls, even though my role was behind the scenes.”

A Biblical Community

Where doing life together, connecting and discipling, and serving is a way of life and a way to experience life.

Intentionally Building a Community of Disciples in our Connect Groups

Following the example of the early church in the Book of Acts, Trinity’s Connect Groups (CG) across all ministries and centers prioritize fostering a strong, biblical community. We encounter God’s manifest presence as we devote ourselves to The Word, prayer, fellowship, and service. God’s awesome and tangible presence is felt by every CG member!

Within the CGs, a sense of belonging and ownership is nurtured as we do life together, spurring one another to love God passionately, love church zealously, and love souls relentlessly. As God’s people and fellow Trinitarians, we meet regularly, have meals, have fun, and make memories together.

We are intentional in sharing our needs and extending help to one another. This connecting and discipling does not just happen in church, but also outside of the church premises.

Every CG is committed to and effective in making disciples. In Trinity, we believe that every person matters to God and therefore matters to us. Hence, every Trinitarian is discipled; which is the process where a mature Christian journeys alongside a young believer, nurturing their faith and calling.

The CG Commitment is “I connect with you to disciple you. I disciple you so that you will connect and disciple others.”

We actively reach out to the people around us to share Christ with them; praying together for them and intentionally connect with them through sports and makan activities, JB trips, durian parties, Chinese New Year, Mid-autumn festival celebrations, and Christmas parties. Friends of friends join us in those times as well. Many of us have witnessed the salvation of our loved ones and friends as a result.

Ben, a Connect Leader (CL), would regularly meet with the guys in his CG. They would share meals, cycle together, and even go on shopping trips to Johor Bahru together bringing with them their families.

A CG member was going through a difficult time having been diagnosed with early-stage cancer. She had faith and trust in God, nonetheless, experienced moments of fear and sadness.

In her connect group, she received support from members who empathized with her situation and was met with encouragement and prayers. The love she received from her CG strengthened her trust in God. Despite her diagnosis, she gained strength, peace, and hope throughout treatment and recovery. Her doctor has since declared her cancer-free; she is now undergoing preventive treatment to reduce the risk of recurrence.

Yen Ping, one of our leaders, met Mun Chong and Faith in an ITTF class and invited them to her CG. After being connected to the CG, Mun Chong and Faith invited another couple to the group.

Kairos CG, led by Cecil and Jennifer Yeo, understand that relationships among members require ongoing cultivation, so they organize gatherings outside of their Friday night meetings.

These events include celebrating birthdays, exploring local cuisine, participating in book clubs for personal growth, and forming exercise groups to stay healthy together.

Towards the end of last year, a Connect Group intensified their prayers for loved ones, coinciding with numerous outreach events. Joyce, a member, invited her brother to one such event, where he accepted Christ. This brought immense joy to Joyce and the group.

Jennifer Yeo Connect Leader

We must share life to draw others to Christ and show them the abundant life we can have in Him. The activities are just platforms for us to connect with our oikos and CG members.

We need to always put ourselves out there to share God’s love and life in us! God’s love should compel us to do so.

The men and ladies in the CG regularly meet for trail cycling, soccer, and pickleball. They use such occasions to connect with their teenage or young adult kids, friends outside the CG or church, and to reach out to their elderly parents who have not yet accepted Christ, especially on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Spiritual Parents promptly contact and meet new members, emphasizing connecting and discipling.

Ryan Tan Connect Leader

Our CG multiplied in 2022, a few months after COVID restrictions were progressively easing.

God Added to Them

Joyful Faith CG celebrated its first anniversary last November since its multiplication from Fireplace CG. The Lord added to their numbers, several families were connected, and new friends were invited. Visitors encountered God in CG and decided to follow Jesus during CG meetings. Joyful Faith has since grown from a newly multiplied CG to a united, strong, and impactful CG and is well poised for its next multiplication! God also brought new families to Fireplace CG. It has been increasing in vibrancy & strength again since the last multiplication! All glory to God!

As we followed God’s prompting to multiply and make room, the leaders and members stepped up to serve.

As we discipled our members, we saw many rising up to become Spiritual Parents and leaders.

While we rejoiced over the multiplication, we knew it would be a stretch of our faith.

Indeed, 2 years on, both CGs have grown steadily, and we continue to serve a faithful God, who has provided us people and resources for our CG life to continue flourishing.

Facilitating specialised ministry in our Ministry Groups

Led by pastors and championed by Ministry Leaders (MLs) representing Trinity, Pastoral Care, Pastoral Counseling and Pastoral Operations make up the three Ministry Groups (MG) extending specialised care and attention across the church, touching and impacting Trinitarians, friends and visitors.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care is a MG that ministers to the sick in hospitals and those who are homebound for the long term due to mobility issues and sickness.

This MG also attends to the grieving at funerals, bringing the love of God to Trinitarians and their families in a time of sorrow. This work can be challenging and emotionally taxing for those who serve in this MG, but extremely important and essential to continue in.

Pastoral Counseling

Pastoral Counseling is a MG that provides pastoral counseling to Trinitarians and their families in crisis.

Where needed, professional medical advice and partnerships are consulted. The MLs and volunteers in this MG find great joy in seeing lives restored and people renewed and walking with the Lord.

Pastoral Operations

Pastoral Operations is a MG that oversees the mobilization and training of volunteers, as well as the operations of services and events in Trinity.

The MG volunteers go for walks, meals and engage in fun activities together. They spur and encourage one another to do the work of ministry and grow in serving the house of God.

Serving the House

Within the larger biblical community, over 1,700 Trinitarians of all ages are serving God and others with their time and God-given talents. It is a demonstration of loving the church (that God has planted us in) zealously!

“…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve...”

(Matthew 20:28). Jesus modeled amazing love and sacrificial service. By following His example, we allow God to transform us to become more like Christ.

“...THE SON OF MAN DID NOT COME TO BE SERVED, BUT TO SERVE...”

MATTHEW 20:28

I thank God for His sustaining grace and covenantal love. Serving God and His house is an act of worship and expression of my love unto the Lord... I also learn to die to self, put others before me, be humble and patient, allowing the Holy Spirit to teach and mold me to be a better person.

John Nelson Security Marshal volunteer I’d rather be a doorkeeper in the house of God, better is one day in His courts than a thousand elsewhere!

Charlene Koh Nursery and DiscoveryLand volunteer I am motivated to cultivate a childlike faith when I observe the children’s simple trust in God.

Thomas Serving is fulfilling for me as I get to give back to God’s house especially since I have received so much from the community of God. I enjoy using my gifts to create a warmer church environment and ensuring that the congregation and visitors are always welcomed.

Joshua

It is fulfilling for me because I can glorify God, love Him by loving others and through serving, understand His purpose and destiny for me. Therefore, I am making a concerted effort to move away from being self-absorbed; instead live to serve God and people by His gifting.

Liang

I am contented to serve because I see lives are impacted by God through me.

Pastoral Operations Leader

I enjoy serving in POMG because there is great camaraderie within the team. When we get together, there is always joy and laughter. When things get challenging, my teammates are always ready to give their support.

Pastoral Operations Leader

Whenever I come to Pastoral Operations gatherings, there is this special feeling of family and warmth that always gives me joy and peace. Just recently, my wife got into an incident on the eve of CNY. She needed to go for surgery.

I rallied the Ministry Group to pray for her. After the surgery, I can see joy and calmness on my wife's face. In this Ministry Group, we also come together as one big family to celebrate CNY and each other's birthdays. This experience of life is something I hold closely to me.

Stella Ting (in her 70s)

Celebration Host

I have grown to understand God’s purpose for my life; which is to bless people and to advance the kingdom of God one soul at a time!

Pastoral Operations Volunteer

”A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

Proverbs 11:25 (NIV)

Through serving, God has refreshed me and strengthened my walk with Him. I feel like I am living in the center of His will, and His joy fills my heart. When serving, I experience greater joy, purpose, and satisfaction in my heart.

Is serving essential for every believer?

Absolutely! Regardless of age, experience and gifting, let us use our giftings to serve as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms (1 Peter 4:10).

Are there enough opportunities for me to volunteer myself?

Yes! We are constantly growing as a church, and exploring new avenues for Trinitarians with different talents to come alongside to build the church.

Is it easy to start serving in Trinity?

For sure! Just step forth in faith to sign up today. You will receive a call for an interview to understand what the role entails, the training and commitment involved, so that you are set up meaningfully to grow and learn.

Flagship events at Trinity anchor the life of the church, propel Trinity's vision. Each are precious platforms for connecting and discipling, and to encounter God, experience life, and impact our world.

Missions Rally & Weekend

Trinity launched its inaugural Missions Convention at Hotel Equatorial, Singapore in 1977, a vision birthed in the time of then Senior Pastor Naomi Dowdy. The church, comprising mostly young adults and first-generation Christians, pledged $35,300 to the Missions Fund. This bold step, despite just seven years since the church's inception, reflected Pastor Dowdy's belief that a mission-focused church would be blessed.

Since then, Trinity’s commitment to global missions has been blessed manifold, and its impact felt in nations all over the world. This is testimony of God’s faithfulness.

In March, we continue to ignite Trinitarians to passionately love souls beyond the shores of Singapore. Through praying, generous giving, and going to the nations, we fulfill God's Great Commission.

Mission Rally’s standout moment is the Parade of Nations. Flags of nations that Trinity has impacted are showcased in this parade.

Trinitarians dress in ethnic attire, symbolizing unity in worship across languages and nationalities; a picture of what we will experience in heaven.

Trinity's impact spans over 50 countries across 6 continents, a testament to God's grace in enabling us to be a blessing to the nations!

Faith Promises

In Trinity, we challenge everyone to make Faith Promises to God. This happens twice annually during our Missions Rally and our Vision Rally. The Missions Faith Promise is dedicated to our missions efforts and goes to our Missions Fund, whereas the Vision Faith Promise is dedicated to our building project and goes to our Building Fund.

1. A Faith Promise is not based on your known resources but on your faith.

a. It should be initiated prayerfully.

b. It represents what you are willing to believe God to supply for you to give.

Good Friday and Easter

As the church grew, so did the scale of our productions for Good Friday and Easter which are significant events in the Christian calendar. These are notable evangelistic opportunities for outreach, especially since Good Friday is a public holiday in Singapore.

Through an Easter live production culminating in the Resurrection weekend

2. A Faith Promise is an agreement between you and God.

a. No one will come to collect it.

b. It is a personal goal of what you want to attempt for God.

3. A Faith Promise is a plan for giving to God’s work in addition to your regular tithes and offerings.

4. A Faith Promise stretches the faith of the giver past its current boundaries.

a. God may use surprising ways to supply the funds.

b. God may also draw you to sacrificial giving.

And we have seen Trinitarians commit and give sacrificially while seeing God’s abundant and miraculous provisions!

services, we have welcomed thousands to the church, hear the gospel, and respond to Jesus Christ for salvation. God has gifted people within Trinity, to sing, act, play musical instruments, and create stage sets and props.

All Trinitarians contribute in various ways, inviting friends, praying, serving, and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests. Our desire is for every guest to feel at home, be ministered to, and eager to return to Trinity.

Life Conference

Held locally in Singapore during the June school holidays, families come together to be discipled through various tracks — Children, Youth, Adults, and Chinese, with some combined sessions.

Experiencing a vibrant community life as part of the body of Christ; where we fellowship, worship, and encounter God together. This conference takes place in the years outside our triennial church camp.

Trinitarians get to encounter Jesus as the life-giver, and experience life in the supernatural by the power of the Holy Spirit as He moves in miracles, signs and wonders.

There are impartation sessions with specific emphasis each year, including — raising strong families and marriages, self-care, developing healthy lifestyles, growing in the prophetic, ethical living inour complex world, and more.

Much time is allocated to dwelling in God’s presence, altar ministry, allowing space and time to seek God.

These moments are invaluable, fostering important growth in the discipleship to love God more and more.

Church Camp

Every three years in June, Trinity goes overseas for our church camp.

This occurs triennially due to the extensive planning involved, which typically spans one to two years. Rather than employing a travel agency, a camp committee comprising of pastors and Trinitarians take time out to coordinate the event.

During the camp, we enjoy food, fun, and fellowship, with a well-balanced program

allowing families and connect groups to bond, eat, rest, and play together.

Trinitarians benefitted from tailored tracks for all ages and languages. The impartation sessions offer teaching, and spiritual encounters with many experiencing breakthroughs and spiritual renewal. Even as we grow in intimacy with God and our love for Him deepens, we leave camp feeling refreshed in spirit, soul, mind and body.

Trinitarians embrace life and have fun together, growing spiritually, and deepening our love for God.

Vision

Rally & Weekend

Held in September every year, Vision Rally & Weekend is a faith-building celebration of the vision God has given to us. We believe people contribute to a vision, and not merely a building or two. The land, buildings, and facilities are how

we fulfill our God-given vision. The committed vision and faith promise goes into our building fund.

Trinity had humble beginnings, starting its first Sunday Service in a home at 2 Hillcrest Road Bukit Timah in April 1970.

As the church expanded, we rented different venues for services, including RELC, NTUC Conference Hall, and the World Trade Centre. Despite the challenges of not having a place to call our own, Trinitarians served with sacrificial love every week. (Read Building by Faith in Singapore on page 104 to find out more about Trinity’s heritage)

Through the commitment and fulfilment of our annual Vision Faith Promise, we purchased properties and now own three freehold properties in Paya Lebar,

Adam, and Lavender, along with a leasehold property in Choa Chu Kang.

Each of these facilities enables us to fulfill our vision. They stand as a testament to God’s grace, the faith of Trinitarians, and the legacy we want to pass on to future generations.

In 2 Samuel 7, King David desired to build God's house, but God promised to build David's house instead. It illustrates that as we build God's house, He builds ours.

This event rallies Trinitarians to express their zealous love for the church, a place where God has planted them, where they grow and are discipled together to serve sacrificially. May this faith legacy of Trinitarians be an enduring inspiration for future generations to come.

School is out and the festive period is in! The month of December offers the perfect opportunity to share the reason for the season — Jesus, the Savior of our world.

We harness the communicative power of drama productions to present the gospel to our family, friends, and strangers. We also plan island-wide Christmas parties in different homes and spaces where

Christmas Family Communion

In Trinity, we observe Holy Communion on the first weekend of every month during our celebration services. As the body of Christ, we celebrate the unity of believers by partaking in communion; remembering His sacrifice on the cross and proclaiming His impending return.

Trinity’s annual Family Communion is unique as

guests can experience a cozy setting with food, fun, songs, and testimonies of how Jesus has given us new life.

As Trinitarians prayerfully extend invitations to unsaved loved ones and strangers, we are loving each soul relentlessly. We desire to show others the same persistent love of God when He pursued us; that they may know Jesus as Lord and Savior and receive eternal life.

it is not facilitated during weekend service, but a separate time where individuals, families, and connect groups gather to take communion together. Usually scheduled in the last week of the year, thousands of Trinitarians turn up with both their biological and spiritual families.

During Family Communion, the group prays, examines themselves (1 Corinthians 11:2729), and reflects on God's love and sacrifice, giving thanks for the past year and committing the year ahead to God. It is an unhurried time in God's presence. Individuals and the group take communion, and a Pastor prays for them. It is a time of blessing and ministry to families.

Watchnight Service

Every year, on Dec 31, Trinitarians gather for our Watchnight Service. This event is highly anticipated as our Lead Pastor shares the prophetic word for the upcoming year.

Expect a time of vibrant worship and powerful testimonies that strengthen our faith in God.

It's a special and precious way to close the year and start the new year in God’s house, in His presence, and with the biblical community.

This is also where we pray the prophetic word into our lives, claiming God’s promises for our biological and spiritual families in the year ahead.

Celebrating Watchnight on New Year’s Eve in God’s house is a great way to start the year reaffirming our faith and experiencing life as a community.

May God be exalted, and Trinity be closer to being the spotless bride of Christ for the bridegroom’s second coming. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Maranatha!

I hope to see Trinitarians experience the joy of learning through Trinity Academy while being discipled to become strong Christ-centered leaders that impact our world.

AlphaTrack

Started in 1996 by Pastor Dominic Yeo, this program entails a three-month commitment to pursue God and know Him intimately.

What is it?

It is a faith journey that transforms believers into Harvest Warriors who have a God-given urgency to win souls for Christ. Through studying the Bible, participants will learn key spiritual lessons and find applications to being Strategic Leaders wherever God places them. AlphaTrack’s objective is to launch you into discovering your calling and destiny in God.

How is this achieved?

Transformation happens when we encounter God and yield to His Voice.

In every season of our Christian journey, we require alignment, and times of refreshing and breakthroughs to keep discovering and fulfilling God’s purpose in our lives. Every Trinitarian should aspire to complete the AlphaTrack program.

We also welcome those who would like to explore the call to full-time ministry. Three months spent in discovering God’s plan and purpose for your life; with guidance from Pastors will ensure that you’ll leave with a clearer sense of God’s call upon your life and preparation on how to answer God’s call when it comes. Life will never be the same after 90 days of AlphaTrack!

Trackers are immersed in God’s presence daily through prayer, worship, and time alone with Him. This is vital in learning to hear God’s voice and to obey Him.

Trackers will experience personal breakthroughs and be stretched to step out in faith to walk in the Spirit to fulfill His purposes.

Trackers will learn to work together, serve one another in love and unity so that God is glorified.

During a 2-4 week Missions Impact Trip, Trackers are exposed to cross-cultural missions to reach the nations for Jesus. When we aim to bless others, we often find ourselves experiencing God's providence and encouragement in remarkable ways.

Who is it meant for?

Whether you are a student, young adult, or in your golden years, it matters not. AlphaTrack is for you!

Hear from past Trackers

Catching God’s Heartbeat for the Souls Before AlphaTrack, I understood the importance of evangelism, but I did not feel like I had much courage or practical skills to share Christ with people.

I did not expect AlphaTrack to have such a heavy emphasis on evangelism. Regardless, I am thankful for the opportunity, and to have been taught the practical handles of how to connect with people.

During my first few street evangelism experiences in the program, I remember feeling very nervous and relying heavily on my partner to make the first move.

I dreaded street evangelism, afraid people I approached would lash out at me. Whilst I had some small breakthroughs; sharing the gospel with my grandmother and cousin, street evangelism was still what I dreaded most.

This changed when I went for MIT in Bangkok. While tracting for our campus care event and life skill seminar, I felt an urgency to approach people and eagerly invite them as the event date drew near. Reflecting on this, I understood that it shouldn’t be limited to an event but to be soul-winners every day.

I had more breakthroughs as I went for more tracting opportunities and found as

I was enjoying connecting with oikos.

An incident that helped me overcome these fears was when a person I met on the street agreed to have a meal with us. Initially, my partner and I had planned to invite her only to the Life Skills seminar, but the Holy Spirit prompted us to also invite her to the upcoming service at Trinity Bangkok.

She was open to joining us and was curious about Christianity, as it was her first time hearing the gospel. We met with her for another meal to share more, and she got saved that same day! Praise God! She is now connected to Trinity Bangkok.

Overcoming Fears

In 2023, I was seeking God’s direction for my life. With the support and encouragement from my family and employer (granted unpaid leave even though I only joined the company for five months), I signed up for AlphaTrack (AT).

The training was comprehensive; evangelism, preaching, leading worship, and prophesying to help equip trackers for ministry. Incidentally, these were also the areas I was weak in.

It evoked fear, apprehension, and insecurities. For instance, I was afraid to evangelize because I feared rejection if the person said no.

I had attended evangelism training prior to AT, yet somehow this round the Holy Spirit convicted me of my duty to share the gospel and leave the rest to Him. With that burden lifted, I boldly stepped forth partnering with the Holy Spirit in my assignments.

I am set free from the fear of rejection and now enjoy evangelizing.

Then I was asked to conduct a Life Skills seminar and had a preaching assignment. I feared public speaking! There would be butterflies in my stomach and a tremble in my voice. I bargained with God, agreeing to do my best with my limited ability and leave the rest to Him.

I clung to these verses. 2 Cor 12:9, “But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness,' “ and Jer 29:11 “ ' For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' “

I discovered that God uses my weaknesses to prove He Is able! God is always dependable and builds His children up! Thank you, Jesus, for this personal encounter with You.

Ministry Internship

Trinity is blessed to have most of our pastors and ministers discipled and raised through this church. This is a testimony of the discipleship and leadership development process that we have in place. An important part of this process is challenging Trinitarians to obey the call of God to come into full-time ministry.

The Ministry Internship (MI) program is an important part of the preparatory process where we bring someone through a one-year program to raise them to become ministers for the house.

Preparing for

the calling of a lifetime.

Full-time ministry is one of the most stressful jobs according to research. Ministers must be effectively trained, not just in the skills required for the job, but given the opportunity to mature in their character and calling.

Bible school provides effective theological training, while ministry exposure facilitates on-the-job training. Both of these are important; there is also the development and formation of their calling, character, ethos, and embracing the vision of the church they are serving in.

As a result of the inherent challenges of ministry, we have seen many struggle with the call, and others who have walked away from ministry due to burnout, moral failure, or discouragement.

The MI program helps each intern to confront these realities and grow in preparation and fortification to serve the Lord in full-time ministry not just for a season but for a lifetime!

“He chose David his servant and took him from the sheep pens; from tending the sheep he brought him to be the shepherd of his people Jacob, of Israel his inheritance. And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.”

– Psalm 78:70-72

As part of their training, they will:

#1

Embark on a part-time theological program with TCA College to develop their theological foundations, while serving actively in ministry.

#2

Each report to an assigned mentoring pastor.

#3

Serve on church-level committees and engage in preaching clinics with our Trinity Academy team.

#4

Engage in weekly sessions with our Lead Pastor, Executive and Strategic team pastors and receive impartation in spiritual formation, leadership development, and ministry ethos.

Hear the experiences of our past and present interns

The MI Program gives me the environment to be challenged in my thoughts, values, and convictions to a deeper level. In my journey of growth, I am continually humbled before God, that I may learn to know, understand, and be convicted on God’s call on my life, and how to walk this path in Trinity.

The combination of structured learning and on-the-job training has equipped me to serve in a greater capacity than before. The rigor and challenges of the program also constantly test and sharpen the conviction of my call to serve the Lord in a full-time capacity.

During my one-year MI program, I experienced profound growth through the intentional discipleship provided by the pastors. Despite the challenges encountered during this journey, I am grateful for how God has solidified my calling, refined my character, and sharpened my competencies. I am truly thankful for the invaluable opportunity to participate in the MI program, and it is an absolute privilege to serve as a minister in this house!

The one-year MI program was rigorous but enriching for me. It was a journey of self-discovery where I got to discover my strengths and my limits and weaknesses. It was a journey of God-encounter, where God was actively refining and shaping my heart and mind as a minister.

I felt that we were discipled intentionally and holistically by our pastors week after week through the weekly MI time on Fridays, but also through ministry exposure with my Area Pastor.

The MI program was also where I found precious friendships with others like me, as we journeyed with one another to discover and answer God’s call in our lives. It was a leap of faith for me to obey God to apply for the MI program, but I have no regrets!

MI felt like a mini faith adventure for me. It had all the right ingredients during a pandemic, ever-changing gathering requirements, new endeavors, strangers to interact and grow with, and fresh things to learn constantly.

Looking back, half the time I felt lost a strange feeling for someone who’s usually ahead of the curve. And each time I felt lost, it was always met with the grace of God and His people that’s why it was a faith adventure.

The intentionality of the program is such that it equips and grounds one to be an effective minister in our modern world. Through MI, I have formed a deeper love for God and His church, a greater passion for teaching, and lifelong friendships.

He is calling. It's time to answer.

Stained Glass

Architectural Feature

The stained-glass design depicts the four core doctrines we believe and proclaim as an Assemblies of God church. They are illustrated by icons of the cross, the dove, the horn of oil, and the crown.

 Salvation The cross declares that salvation for all humanity is freely available through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God.

 Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The dove reminds us that all believers should earnestly seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit for an enduement of power for life and service.

 Divine Healing — The horn of oil symbolises divine healing that is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.

 Second Coming of Christ

— The crown proclaims the imminent return of Jesus to establish His Kingdom, the rapture of the church, Christ’s millennial reign, the resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment.

Our Overseas Centers

Church planting is one of Trinity’s expressions of missions. We believe that we are called to advance God’s Kingdom and to establish a lighthouse wherever He leads us, so that the harvest we reap, and the people we reach will have a place of belonging and where they are discipled to become all God has called them to be.

Since our first center plant in Aug 2017, we are now four centers in the region of Asia, Australia and Europe. Thus we have also renamed our regional centers to Overseas Centers with Singapore as the headquarters.

Learn more about our four Overseas Centers in the next few pages.

Trinity Bangkok

Growing A Local Congregation

Trinity launched our second overseas center in Bangkok, Thailand in Oct 2018.

Our first gathering was held in Mandarin Hotel on Oct 28, 2018, where we witnessed five precious souls making decisions for the Lord. We reached out to many young adults in the city through evangelistic events such as seminars.

Through these efforts, many accepted Jesus, which led us to start weekly services in Jan 2019 at Mandarin Hotel.

Milestones

We experienced many firsts in 2019 –

1. 1st Missions Faith Promise, a total of THB 797, 100 was committed.

2. Launch of our first connect group where eight people gathered in one of the homes.

3. 1st water baptism service, where three candidates publicly declared their faith and decision to follow Jesus.

4. Moved to Chamchuri Square, a mixed-development complex in the heart of Bangkok City in Aug 2019.

Strategically located next to Chulalongkorn University and near malls, offices, and residences, Trinity BKK continues to connect with new people.

Having a premise allows us to conduct Life Skills seminars during weekdays and run our celebration services on Sundays. We partner with our community services arm, Arthorn Chumchon Foundation, to reach out to the marginalized and underprivileged through humanitarian initiatives.

God’s Providence in Challenging Times

The COVID-19 period proved challenging when many Singaporeans based in Bangkok returned and Sunday service attendance took a beating. However, the House of God grew despite perilous times. We started to see new souls joining our services as they encountered God and began bringing their friends to our events and services as well.

In 2022, we welcomed many first-time visitors to our events like Valentine’s Day Special, Songkran Blessings, and Christmas Special.

One significant milestone that year was the growth of our worship team. Before COVID-19, we had teams flown in from Singapore to lead worship at our services. However, when the pandemic hit, we had to use pre-recorded worship tracks.

This prompted us to rise to the challenge of training a worship team to lead in some services. Eventually, the worship team and congregation decided to step out in faith to have a live worship team weekly. The team had to get out of their comfort zone where some had to brush up on their musical skills while others picked up new ones! We also witnessed God’s provision for new musical instruments allowing us to have a full band for each service!

Growing In Stewardship Together

Initially, the pastoral team and a small committee were primarily responsible for planning and organizing events. However, as our congregation grew, we saw increased ownership and involvement by our members.

In 2023, we ushered in the New Year with an event to bless the community. Additionally, in line with Children’s Day in Thailand, we celebrated the occasion with activities for children. In February, we had an evangelistic event, Valentine’s Special, where we screened the movie Overcomers which was well-received by the congregation and their friends.

We also conducted a Bible study on Genesis & Exodus on Zoom to disciple our members and approximately a third of our congregation attended the sessions. This was encouraging and demonstrated the hunger people had for learning God’s truth.

We organized workshops that catered to different age groups such as a hip-hop dance for all and a Drama Camp for pre-teens/teens that was held in May. We also conducted a Life Skills seminar on Stress Management.

Scan to watch the highlights video or go to trinity.sg/ TrinityBKKAnniversary

God blessed us with Trinitarians with specific skills to conduct these workshops. We were heartened to see many new faces attending these workshops.

We celebrated Trinity Bangkok’s 5th Anniversary with a special Service at Chamchuri Square, which was followed by a dinner across the road at Mandarin Hotel. The joy was doubled when Trinity Bangkok received official recognition as a church from the Thai government, marking a significant milestone. This enabled us to establish church bank accounts, facilitating donations to our ministries.

In 2023, we sent our very first team on a Missions Impact Trip! The team went to Udon Thani where they partnered with a local church to conduct programs engaging children and youths from two local schools. The team ministered to the local church members in their very own homes!

Since May 12, 2024, Trinity Bangkok has relocated to 1317 Rama IV Road.

Thanksgiving and Reflections

Indeed, we shout in praise of God’s faithfulness and greatness. He preserved us as a congregation during COVID-19 and positioned us to impact the lives of the people in Thailand.

Today, over 90 percent of our congregation comprises of local Thais, a testament to strong community ties among Trinitarians who regularly invite family and friends. In 2024, our family-themed events aim to encourage Trinitarians to engage families, with a special segment dedicated to honoring the elderly.

Chalee, who previously didn't attend church regularly, decided to start attending Trinity Bangkok consistently with his wife, Muey, in 2023. He attended the Holy Spirit and I class and was amazed by the Scriptures when he learned about the Godhead and the work of the Holy Spirit.

Apart from being discipled in the Word, he was also refreshed in the celebration services. Chalee now serves as a technical volunteer and finds fulfillment in rendering his service to the House of God even though he had to overcome the steep learning curve.

Trinity Birmingham

A Center of Firsts

In the early 2000s, under Pastor Dave Lakin's leadership, the church bought a piece of land in Birmingham, and plans for a new church and community center began.

In 2013, Pastor Kirk and Tracee McAtear became the pastors. Construction of the new church began in 2017, with a special ground-breaking service.

Delays ensued, but the congregation remained faithful.

In 2019, we celebrated communion in the shell of the building, and we finally completed the building project in 2023. That same year, we joined the Trinity Christian Centre global family, and on Oct 15, 2023, Trinity Birmingham opened its doors for the first time.

Today Trinity Birmingham is seeing God do amazing things in our new church building.

Celebrations in order with Building Dedication

In the heart of Birmingham, United Kingdom, a beacon of hope and faith emerged on Oct 15, 2023, as Trinity Birmingham opened its doors to the public with its new church building.

The grand opening was a momentous occasion after a six-year building journey. 370 people gathered to witness the dedication of the space to the glory of God.

A Dedication to God and Community

This inaugural event was a testament to the commitment of the Trinity Birmingham community.

The atmosphere was charged with anticipation and excitement as Trinitarians welcomed people from all walks of life to attend its first service.

The congregation stood united in their dedication to God and the collective vision of building a strong biblical community with the newly consecrated space.

Community Outreach, Business, and Charity Networking Events

Following the grand opening, Trinity Birmingham wasted no time in reaching out to the community. In the subsequent weeks, we carried out a series of outreach initiatives, which included community fun days, a Light Party for the children, and a business and charity network event.

This demonstrated the church's commitment to the spiritual growth of its congregation and to being a positive force to impact the community beyond the walls of the church building.

Raising Leaders

In the early days of Trinity Birmingham, the focus was already on leadership development.

The church was excited to announce the training and commissioning of its first batch of Spiritual Parents, who would play pivotal roles in connecting and discipling the congregation.

This step reflected the commitment to equipping and empowering individuals to take on significant responsibilities in fostering ministry within the church.

Inaugural Baptism Service

A significant milestone was Trinity Birmingham's first water baptism service held in the new church building on Dec 3, 2023. The sacred act of baptism symbolizes a fresh start for those who took that step of obedience that day.

A Festive Christmas Season

As Christmas approached, Trinity Birmingham transformed into a hub of festive activities. From heart-warming kids' nativity plays to entertaining pantomimes, the church embraced the holiday season with joy. The Christmas carol service echoed through the halls, filling the space with rejoicing and reverence. Notably, the church hosted its first Christmas Day service in nine years, making it a truly special occasion for the entire congregation.

Welcoming the New Year with Special Events

The beginning of the new year was marked by significant spiritual events. Trinity Birmingham joined the Trinity Watchnight Service, a tradition observed across the global Trinity network. Additionally, the church held its first Family Communion service, where 80 of the congregation participated in sharing communion and receiving a prophetic prayer from one of the pastors to start the year.

Launch of Connect Groups

Introduction to the Trinity family

In February, we had a very fruitful weekend with Lead Pastor Gerald Tan, Pastor Lee Mei Yee, and Pastor Chang Wai Wai. They delivered our first Introduction to the Trinity family course; where we had 29 people attend and complete the course. On our first Miracle Sunday service, we commissioned our CG leaders and Pastor Gerald ministered powerfully to us. We witnessed God’s work in people’s lives through healings and salvations.

Trinity Birmingham launched five CGs in February. These groups will create a close-knit space for members to connect and disciple, to experience life together, to grow, and see more people encounter God. Pastor Wendy Chang and Pastor Esther Lee from Trinity Singapore came to teach, train, and equip the CG leaders with our first CG leader training course in January.

Believing in a Powerful Future

Trinity Birmingham's opening on Oct 15, 2023, marked not just the physical establishment of a new church but the birth of a zealous community rooted in faith, hope, and love. The events and milestones that followed continued to demonstrate Trinity Birmingham's commitment to encountering God, experiencing life, and impacting our world, a commitment that will persist in the future for the glory of God!

Trinity Jakarta

Our First Overseas Center

In Aug 2017, Trinity answered God's call to expand by starting Trinity Jakarta, our first Overseas Center. The journey began with a weekly Bible seminar on Aug 4 at Gedung Metro Pasar Baru. As people encountered God at the weekly seminars, we launched the first celebration service on Sep 3, 2017.

First Water Baptism Event for Children and Youth

Since its launch, Trinity Jakarta has welcomed individuals and families, offering God’s restoration and new beginnings. The connect groups have been instrumental in fostering new life and growth amongst members.

In Jan 2018, Trinity Jakarta held its first water baptism for 11 children and youth! Since then, a total of 21 people have been baptized to date.

Raising Leaders to Fulfill

The Great Commission Trinity Jakarta is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission having trained, raised, and commissioned over 30 spiritual parents and CG leaders! In Aug 2019, we had our first local Indonesian pastor, Pastor Budi Haryanto. In May 2022, Sister Lisa Koestaryo became the first Omega Tracker in Trinity Christian Centre and entered full-time ministry.

We rejoice at the team of local harvest workers Trinity Jakarta has raised to make an impact in advancing the kingdom of God in Indonesia!

Moving from Place to Place, Finally a Home

In 2017 we were worshipping at Pasar Baru before moving to Hotel Aryaduta for services.

As the ministry expanded, we relocated to Everbest Tower in 2018 and later to a cinema hall in Plaza Semanggi. Despite challenges, God provided a new home at Lippo Kuningan in Jan 2022, just as the pandemic was easing.

Hence, after two years of lockdowns, we settled into our new premises for services.

With renewed vigor, the congregation invited friends and family to encounter God and to hear His Word. In doing so, we witnessed many coming to rededicate their lives to Jesus.

Launch of New Ministries at the 5th Year Mark

Having a new premise meant a bigger space for the children’s ministry! It was a tremendous blessing, drawing more families to Trinity. We wasted no time and launched an IGNYTE CG with four youths attending in Jan 2022. Today the CG has more than doubled!

At our Vision Month in October 2022, we reached a new milestone as our children in DiscoveryLand made their first Vision Faith Promise to build God’s house for generations. We were encouraged by the simple faith of these young children and their love for God’s house with their Faith Promise of IDR 11, 230, 000 (S$965).

While Trinity Jakarta began with a vision to reach and empower the English-speaking community, we recognized the need to be a blessing to the Bahasa Indonesia-speaking community. Hence in Nov 2022, we took a step of faith and started a second service in Bahasa Indonesia.

Many congregants served in multiple ministries so that more Bahasa Indonesian-speaking people could be connected to our services. Trinitarians were thankful they could better engage their Bahasa-speaking family members as the Word of God was being preached in their mother tongue. Trinitarians continued to invite these family members and friends to Trinity and saw many receiving Christ!

Missions Work by Trinity Jakarta

Since 2021, Trinity Jakarta has partnered with Missions Impact Teams (MIT) from Singapore to bless Bina Bangsa School. Through teachers’ empowerment efforts and children's ministry activities both online and on-site, we have impacted about 40 teachers and 480 students. This has led to many coming to know

the Lord including four families who now regularly attend Trinity Jakarta.

In 2022, Trinity Jakarta partnered with the Assemblies of God to start two leadership connect groups, for about 30 pastors and ministers from 20 AG churches in Jakarta: showcasing our small group model. Then in 2023, Pastor Steven Tay from Missions and Pastor Budi Haryanto conducted Spiritual Parenting training for 84 participants and CG leaders training for 48 participants in the AG churches.

Many pastors shared that Trinity’s small group model empowered them for kingdom building. We thank God for the privilege of partnering with AG in Jakarta Region 1 to expand God’s Kingdom in Jakarta.

With travel borders easing in 2023, Trinity Jakarta sent two Missions Impact teams comprising solely Jakarta congregants to share the message of hope and salvation across Indonesia. In May 2023, the first MIT, a team of eight persons led by Pastor Budi Haryanto and Sister Khoo Wei San, brought the gospel to the villages in Maluku islands.

Following that in Aug 2023, the second team of seven persons led by Pastor Alana Mah and Sister Lisa Koestaryo went to support Project Rescue work in Central Java. These teams experienced remarkable success. God used them mightily to touch countless lives with miracles of healing and salvation!

We pray that God will continue to use Trinity Jakarta to be salt and light in this city and nation. We desire to see every Trinitarian grow in love for God, His Church, and have a burden for souls. We believe there will be a great harvest in Indonesia for the glory of God!

Trinity Melbourne

Birthed in the Pandemic as Online Church

During COVID-19, Trinity Melbourne shone brightly as a beacon of hope. We started with Potential to Fulfilment Seminars online, then expanded to having virtual services, fostering an online community during physical distancing measures.

A Journey of Faith

As Melbourne cautiously opened its doors after two years, Trinity Melbourne swiftly swung its doors open.

In January 2022, we welcomed a modest congregation, comprising mainly of students and one family, into our parsonage. Guided by God’s providence, we rented a hall at the Waverley International Hotel in Glen Waverley, Victoria, and held our inaugural onsite service in Mar 2022.

Coming Together

Today, our congregation is made up of individuals from eight diverse nationalities, Australian, Chinese, Indonesian, Korean, Malaysian, Singaporean, Thai, and Vietnamese, highlighting our dedication to inclusivity. Trinity Melbourne is a melting pot, welcoming believers from various life stages, including university students, working professionals, singles, families, and retirees.

Answered Prayers God is the initiator of encounters with us, as seen in the lives of Abraham, Jacob, and New Testament believers. We witness and testify to God drawing people to Himself and transforming them.

Indeed, God answers prayers! Through fervent prayers in our Prayer Meetings, we have seen miracles salvations, healings, job provisions and promotions. Toward the end of 2023, we saw an amazing ‘Unprecedented Increase’ of God’s favor and provision of homes for 12 church members!

Casey and Sharon Wong Business People

My family has lived in Melbourne for over 30 years. I used to attend Trinity in Singapore. For three years, I prayed for my husband, Casey to attend Trinity Melbourne. Casey felt God leading him to visit Trinity Melbourne. He is a man who hardly cries. Since he started coming to church, he has encountered God in such a powerful way that he has wept openly twice.

Today, we are both serving as Spiritual Parents; my husband volunteers to make Kaya toast and Teh Tarik for our Communion Sunday Breakfast while I serve as the Celebration Host IC.

Pat IT Manager

I had a vision of Jesus when I was 18 in a temple. He was wearing a white robe with a crown of thorns on his head. But as time passed, I forgot about it. After I came to Melbourne, a colleague, Darlene invited me to Trinity and I felt God’s presence. God started to show Himself to me, guiding me with peace whenever I faced pressures at work. He reminded me of the vision, and I gave my life to Him. And I will be getting baptized this year!

Jason Soo Retiree

I am a Christian but have backslided for over 40 years. When I went through a toe amputation, Pastors Janice and Lois prayed for me at the hospital and fetched me home. Church members prayed for the healing of my kidneys and diabetes, my kidney function levels improved such that my doctor said that I did not need any dialysis. Praise God!

Doing Life beyond Sundays

With the four seasons, we bond through sharing new experiences by enjoying seasonal activities together. From visiting Yarra Valley and cherry-picking, to beach outings and barbeques in summer, trekking and road trips in Spring and Autumn! We prioritize cultivating authentic relationships in a world marked by superficial connections and fleeting interactions. We practice hospitality where members take turns to open their homes to host, creating a safe space for heartfelt conversations, shared laughter, and moments of ministry.

Sowing Seeds, New Connections

Toward the end of 2023, we felt God’s call to “enlarge our tents and extend our net wider”. This led to bolder initiatives, like connect group Christmas parties and Christmas Service with a quartet. These outreach efforts saw new connections made.

During the holidays, we connected with new friends at our Children’s Play Day. For two consecutive years, we took part in Glen Waverley Council’s Lunar New Year Festive Stall, each time engaging over 300 people through games and giveaways of Ang Pow packets and Trinity flyers, sowing seeds of God’s love.

From humble beginnings, Trinity Melbourne has seen the fruition of God’s promise, ”I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow”. (1 Cor 3:6) It is our prayer that His Glory will fill His house and bring revival to Australia. May God continue to lead us into unchartered territories to expand His Kingdom to see His Covenant fulfilled!

Trinity expresses her missions primarily by:

Empowering churches, ministries, and communities through equipping, training, and providing consultation in courses, programs, seminars, and conferences

Going to the nations, sending Mission Impact Teams (MITs), bringing the gospel and ministering to the unsaved

Expanding God’s Kingdom by planting churches both locally and overseas

Serving the Kingdom through business using skills, resources, and influence to bring the truth of God to the marketplace

Demonstrating God’s love by upholding social justice through the establishment and support of charitable and humanitarian work

MISSIONS IN TRINITY

Scan to read more.

Loving Souls, Impacting Nations

The Great Commission is at the heart of Trinity's Missions: God has called us to impact our world, in our centers and as a global church.

In 1970, Trinity Christian Centre was a mission; a church planted by AG US missionaries. Many years later, we have become missionaries.

We inherit their legacy, entrusted with the same divine mission to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to all. Indeed, we are ambassadors of God, empowered by His Spirit to impact our world wherever He sends us! We revisit and fan the call to pray, give and go every year.

Through our Missions Faith Promise (read more on page 86), we give generously and in faith to our Missions Fund that goes towards sponsoring TCA students (see TCA College article on page 138) and the different missions expressions here in Trinity:

Empowering Churches Through Training and Consultation

God has blessed Trinity so that we can bless others. Trinity provides training and consultation to many churches around the world, typically but not limited to areas of church leadership, governance, and the small group church model.

We guide and offer personal consultation journeying with churches to help them foster effectiveness in ministry, to grow in knowledge of the Word, and empower them with insight on structure and best practices to build a strong church in their context.

To date, we have provided training and consultation to 178 churches and 13,168 pastors and leaders from all around the world.

We also train pastors and leaders of other churches to conduct Spiritual Parent and Leader trainings. Currently, we have a team of experienced Columbian and Taiwanese pastors undergoing training to become trainers. They partner us for training and consultation.

Yang Guo Zhong and Yang Li Qing

Salvation of God Church, Thailand

We are grateful to the Lord for opening up this new and living path for us. We hope to bring back what we have learned and implement them in my small group churches.

Senior Pastor Julieta Smit CBI, Orlando

Throughout these years we have received the blessing of your church by accompaniment, by supporting us in the growth of our leadership through the Carecell model and the discipleship that we have received.

Missions Impact Teams (MIT), Going to the Nations

Every year, Trinity sends Trinitarians overseas in teams to our partner churches and humanitarian organizations in different nations to bless the churches and the communities they reside in.

From children and youth programs to special events and miracle rallies, Trinitarians are trained for weeks at hand to prepare in different ways to share God’s love in tangible ways.

India

Before the MIT program, many of the boys attended daily devotion because they had to, and not because they were interested. But after two days of the MIT program, the boys showed interest in devotion. They came on time and were open to talk. It is so encouraging to have devotion with them now, seeing many of them are interested.

Indonesia

I am amazed by the team that ministered in Lingga Island, Indonesia. We served and labored together as a body of Christ, and did everything with love and compassion. The team worked in every condition, even when the weather wasn't good. A humble, persistent, clever, cheerful, faithful team. They taught me how to serve people as we serve Jesus.

Brianna Petersen

Bangladesh

The MIT team was organized, well-led, and meticulous in pre-planning. They came emotionally, spiritually, and physically ready and ministered so well. They were present, flexible, and willing to help in any way. The staff sessions were especially effective! Several women were visibly touched during the sessions. The Lord was doing deep work in their hearts and the team was facilitating that. You could tell that the ministry was infused with prayer.

Expanding the Kingdom: Church planting

To date, Trinity has three Singapore centers situated at Paya Lebar, Adam Road, and Choa Chu Kang and four overseas centers in Bangkok, Birmingham, Jakarta, and Melbourne. Read more about Our Centers in Singapore on page 104 and our Overseas Centers on page 112.

In 2023, we started a connect group in Surabaya, Indonesia, where three people received salvation in Jesus Christ and five rededicated their lives to Him during a Christmas party event. We also planted a CG in Johor Bahru, Malaysia where eleven adults and nine children meet regularly for CG meetings and pre-recorded services.

Business as Missions, Serving the Kingdom

Business as Missions is about serving God’s Kingdom by providing a service and developing an influence for God in the marketplace. Trinity has set up a music school to raise worshippers in churches and an English language school to help pastors and bible school students become conversant in English.

This will help in their desire to be church planters in a multi-lingual society. Trinitarians volunteer their time and expertise in these schools to serve as teachers for God’s glory and purpose.

As the Lord leads and directs, the heart of every business endeavor is about sowing into God’s Kingdom and the communities where God has placed us. Ultimately, it is about going to the lost and offering them salvation in Jesus Christ. It is about loving souls, and impacting nations!

Leila Elementary 2 Class

I am from Iran and my native language is Persian. I am a refugee and seeking refuge in an English-speaking country, so I need to learn English.

Before I came to this class, I was afraid to speak and could not pronounce words well. In this class, I met very good and kind teachers. I can now communicate better with others after learning new words and rules of English. Now I can speak in public much better than before. Thanks to all the professors who teach us with patience and kindness.

Social Justice, Demonstrating God’s Love Trinity financially supports organizations such as Care Community Services Society (CCSS), Focus on the Family, Convoy of Hope, Teen Challenge, Project Rescue, and more.

Project Rescue’s mission is to rescue and restore victims of sexual exploitation through the love and power of God. Trinity befriends these victims through an online ministry. Once a month, we run online programs that focus on life skills such as self-care, relationships, interviewing skills, finances, goal setting, conversational skills, and more.

We partnered with Project Rescue staff on their detection outreach and prayed on-site while staff connected with victims at the apartments. It was sobering to witness the living situations of women trafficked for the sex industry before their rescue, but even more rewarding to hear their rescue stories and redemption testimonies.

As a child, I was physically and psychologically abused by my mother. She would beat and curse at me, wishing I was never born. My brothers also rejected me. I felt worthless. My mother then left me with my estranged father, and my uncle sexually abused me. When I was nine, I tried to kill myself without success. When I refused to renounce my maternal grandmother, I was made to leave. I then found a job in Spain as a live-in carer for an elderly lady.

For a few years, things seemed better, then my grandmother fell ill. I borrowed money for her medical

treatment, but she died before reaching the hospital. I felt completely angry and alone. Soon after, the lady I was caring for also passed away.

With no job and laden with debt, I took up a job in another city, only to discover it was to be a social escort to businessmen and the esteemed of society. There was perversion, drug, and alcohol abuse. I was treated like a possession. I felt worthless, guilty, and sunk into hopelessness.

Amidst this, I recalled a Christian couple in my childhood who told me about

God has healed the wounds of my soul and I feel completely free.

Jesus. I cried out to Jesus to save me. Immediately, a pastor unknown to me, and a friend reached out to me over the phone and prayed for me. Miraculously, I left that city soon after and my friend brought me to church. I met Fiona when she was speaking in church about sex trafficking. I didn’t think anyone would understand what I went through. I took up her offer to heal in Project Rescue’s safe home in Madrid. Fiona and her husband became like parents to me. I was taught skills and even received a scholarship!

Today, I am studying and helping the girls in Project Rescue’s Madrid home full-time. God has healed the wounds of my soul and I feel completely free. I have forgiven my parents. My mother, brother, sister, grandfather, four uncles, and seven of my cousins have come to know the Lord. I give thanks because He has poured out His grace upon me. I know I am a daughter of The King, and I have a Father that I had always dreamed of having. I have purpose and am blessed to be a blessing.

CareLibrary

Finding Renewed Joy while Living with Dementia

Known for her sweet disposition and love for art and music, 86-year-old Mrs Ngiam joined CareLibrary in August 2019 after being diagnosed with dementia. Struggling with short-term memory loss she spent long periods of time staring into space.

With Cognitive Wellness Programme and Brain Gym, Mrs Ngiam has found joy in music, cognitive exercises, and virtual sessions with fellow participants who have become her friends.

“Her condition has been relatively stable for the last three years. I give credit to CareLibrary for they helped her a lot and she is more cheerful now,” reflected Mr Ngiam who receives needful respite at the Caregivers' Corner while his wife attends sessions. We believe in partnering our caregivers for the wellbeing of their loved ones. Our close relationship with Mr Ngiam enables us to introduce new activities that help Mrs Ngiam stimulate her mind and enhances her quality of life,” said Director of Programme, CareLibrary, Ms Han Huey Charn.

We offer mentoring programs for children and youth to discover their potential.

CareYouth

Developing Confidence; Finding Support

Initially shy and quiet, she started to engage with peers and volunteers through Hearty Time, a CareYouth program centered on academic coaching, food health education, and security. Since joining Hearty Time a year and a half ago, 12-year-old Fiesya has grown in confidence and has made academic progress.

Fiesya's hard work paid off — She achieved a B average in her Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). She credits her success to her mentors at Hearty Time especially Aunty Carol. “I was afraid I would fail PSLE and not be able to go to secondary school. With the help from mentors at Hearty Time, I did well and even made my mother proud.”, she beamed.

Madam Suriyanti is thankful for the program as she works long hours. She shared, “I felt stressed not being able to help her in her studies and am thankful she has shown improvement after receiving help from Hearty Time.”

Youth worker Joseph Koh remarks, “I am proud to see Fiesya take responsible steps for her personal growth. She is more confident and shows empathy for those around her.”

CareKids

Managing Emotions

Nine-year-old Rui An struggled with anger, displaying disruptive behavior at home and in school. He often found himself reacting aggressively to being teased about his size. After attending CareHut an after-school student care center for two years, significant changes were noted in Rui An's attitude and behavior.

Rui Ann's grandmother says he now understands his mistakes and why discipline is necessary. Teachers at CareHut taught him to express his feelings, pause to reflect, and practice patience and self-control in managing his anger. Rui An's was rewarded with a set of Lego blocks after showing progress. He is grateful to Ms Charmaine, his favorite teacher, who made him feel safe and taught him how to stand up for himself.

Rui An enjoys daily outdoor play. “I want to be a policeman when I grow up so that I can catch naughty people. I like playing sports with my friends because it will help me to be a strong policeman,” shared Rui An.

Inspires with her Second Lease on Life

At 65 years old, Madam Jainab became the sole caregiver and breadwinner for her late mother and sister-in-law. The stress and chronic illnesses led to a decline in her health.

Referred to us by the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) in 2020, she became a regular participant at CareElderly@Circuit Active Ageing Centre, and was provided transport vouchers, a walking stick, and food rations.

For the last two years, Madam Jainab receives weekly befriending visits and medical check-ups from Tan Tock Seng Hospital's Community Health Post (CHP) team. Despite mobility challenges, she visits monthly for exercise and support.

Although an introvert, she appreciates the visits from volunteers. “I feel happy seeing young people volunteer to serve those of us who are in need,” reflected Madam Jainab.

We are thankful for the support of volunteers and donors, that enables CCSS to continue providing hope and purpose to people in need, and grow our impact footprint.

Surpassed the milestone of equipping over 1,400 graduates from more than 40 nations.

TCA College Empowering Global Leaders, One Graduate

at a Time!

Since its inception in 1979 by Trinity Christian Centre (TCC), TCA College has been a cornerstone in fulfilling the church's global vision. Over the years, we have had the privilege of impacting churches and Christian organizations worldwide by training pastors, church planters, counselors, lay leaders, and believers.

We are pleased to announce that we have surpassed the milestone of equipping over 1,400 graduates from more than 40 nations. Currently, our student body represents over 100 churches. The true measure of TCA's impact is seen in the achievements of our alumni, and we are excited to share their inspiring stories with you.

Alumni From The School of Counseling

Sam Roberts

Master of Arts in Counseling, School of Counseling Sam graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) and embarked on a transformative journey after encountering God.

Juggling the roles of a Regional HR Manager and pastor of the Nepali congregation at Full Gospel Assembly Church, Sam established Olive Branch Psychology. This is a private counseling practice that provides a wide spectrum of counseling services. Sam is currently pursuing a doctorate in psychology at California Southern University to fulfill his aspiration to contribute to the well-being of others.

My education at TCA’s School of Counseling set me on a path to integrate science and scriptures to gain a deeper understanding of human behavior. Four years and countless essays later, it has positioned me to help myself and others to begin uncovering who we are and what to do with our lives.

Florence Lee

Master of Arts in Counseling, School of Counseling Florence spent seven years in Europe studying and working in an academic setting to train as a neuroscientist. She embarked on the MAC program after struggling with a serious mental condition. By God’s grace, the condition stabilized with treatment. This experience gave her a burden for Singapore’s mental health community. Apart from learning more about herself, her studies enabled her to see the potential impact she could make by serving others as a counselor.

Alumni From The School of Theology

Pastor Lei Leng Leng

Master of Divinity, School of Theology (Chinese)

Pastor Lei was a Drama Teacher in Macau. She initially intended to pursue the English programs offered by the School of Theology (SOT). As she was filling in the application, Jesus told her to pursue the course in Mandarin instead.

She struggled with this as she was not adept in Mandarin but chose to obey God’s instruction. Upon graduation, Pastor Leng Leng’s church assigned her to co-lead the Filipino congregation in English. She currently leads the Youth and Children Ministry and Worship; and is well-equipped to minister in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. She exemplifies the heart of a servant-leader who is willing to serve God in whichever role and language He directs her to.

“I felt God’s call to ministry and sought to obey that call. I chose to study at TCA as it is part of a local church. I was confident that TCA’s education would be practical, and ministry-focused.”

Pastor Ernie Song

Master of Divinity, School of Theology (English)

Pastor Ernie serves in Equipping and Family Life at Riverlife Church. As a father to three young boys and serving in full-time ministry, he could not pursue full-time theological studies. However, TCA’s flexible part-time program enabled him to balance family, ministry, and studies.

One of the strengths of both Chinese and English SOT is that students can opt for full-time or part-time study formats, and courses are available onsite and online. This flexibility enables pastors, missionaries, and laity to access quality theological education regardless of location and season of life.

“Without having to compromise family life and ministry to pursue full-time studies, TCA’s flexible approach to part-time studies accommodates someone like me who wishes to be trained theologically. For that, I am extremely grateful.”

Rev Sara Sapan

Master of Divinity, School of Theology (English) Upon graduation from TCA in 2005, God led Rev Sara Sapan to start a Bible School in Batam. With only “two loaves and five fish," the Bible College has since gained recognition and is now accredited by the Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Education, Indonesia.

Concurrently, Jesus’ words in Matt 9:37-38 impressed upon her to extend help to the poor, harassed, and helpless. In obedience, she launched several programs in the islands, cities, and villages throughout Indonesia to meet the needs of people living in slums by matching them with people doing church planting work. Together with her team, they organized food distribution, education, medical and dental programs. They were also involved in relief work after the earthquake in Palu, Sulawesi.

“My team and I founded the STT Injil Bahkti Caraka Bible College in 2005. Graduates of STT IBC are sent to plant churches in several regions in Indonesia: Batam, Tanjung Uban in Bintan, Tanjung Pinang, Karimun Island, Pekanbaru, Toraja in South Sulawesi, Jogjakarta, Papua, and East Kalimantan. God has blessed Trinity Christian Centre as a church with a leadership anointing, to impact many churches and pastors through our training programs and consultations in small group models.

Training & Equipping Pastors

Pastors Conference

Though we are one church in a small country, we have been privileged to have a global impact through platforms like the Pastors Conference. Originating in 2012, the objective of the conference is to share ministry experiences with pastors and leaders around the world. This event fosters discussion to build churches, exchange ministry experiences, further discovering what makes effective ministry.

Trinity's annual Pastors Conference has positively impacted over a thousand delegates from Singapore and globally. Pastors and ministry leaders from many nations serving in different capacities gather for

3 days to be ministered to, as they encounter God through worship, altar ministry, and teaching.

Many testify to being refreshed by the vibrant worship, refueled with fresh revelations and teachings through sermons and workshops, returning home recharged to exhort their congregations and grow their churches.

This conference is a multiplier of Trinity's global impact, aimed to equip pastors and leaders to develop ministries and the next generation in their churches. In time to come, we anticipate blessing many more pastors and leaders as we extend our Conference overseas.

Pastors School

We desire to bless nations and partner with churches to equip pastors and leaders.

Launching in 2025, Trinity’s Pastors School will offer five cutting edge programs each one designed to train and develop pastors and ministers for effective ministries, fulfilling God’s mandate of kingdom expansion and building of strong churches:

1. Breakthrough in Pastoral Leadership (Strategic Leadership, Critical Thinking, Effective Ministry)

2. Unlocking the Five-Fold Ministries

3. Establishing Core Ministries in the Church (Prayer, Worship, Creative Arts, Inner Healing & Deliverance)

4. Developing the NextGen Ministries (Children, Youth and Campus)

5. Church Planting

What Trinity has gained, learnt and grown through, we hope to impart and bless other churches and see them thrive right where God has planted them, ushering the harvest for God’s pleasure and glory.

Impacting Our World

God has placed Trinitarians in strategic positions of influence in society and the workplace. We are called to be salt and light, and wherever God leads us, we will impact our world!

Gain an insight into the lives of four individuals whose faith in God and walk with Him impacts the people in their homes and at the marketplace.

In Trinity Singapore for six years.

My work involves upholding criminal justice, in a manner that advances the public interest. This is not merely a job, but a calling. I aspire to “act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God” (Micah 6:8). This is important as my work has a real impact on the lives of both offenders and victims.

Apart from leading complex cases, I collaborate with teams of prosecutors, supervising their cases and overseeing their career development. The collaborative nature of the work allows me to meet with colleagues daily. I use the opportunity to show care and connect with them on a personal level, including counseling those who are going through difficult personal circumstances. I am glad that my colleagues are comfortable sharing their problems with me, which affirms my efforts to model Christ’s love in the workplace.

There have also been occasions where I felt led by God to pray for my colleagues. Once, I found myself in a delicate situation of having to advise a senior colleague, a fellow believer, to step down from a leadership role that was not working out. I did not know how to approach the issue, so I texted a prayer request to my connect group (CG) and amazingly, God divinely arranged a meeting and gave me the words to say. The meeting ended well and with a prayer.

The call to Impact Our World may seem a daunting task amidst the hectic demands of work and family life, but God leads us and creates opportunities for us to fulfill this call. We only need to be willing to surrender to Him and align with His will and vision.

The past six years in Trinity have been life-changing for my family and me. The strong impartation of the Word has helped us grow in faith; we have also grown stronger as a family in His love. Our CG has been an essential part of our faith journey. After a year of making excuses not to join a CG, God pursued and led us to Fireplace, which has multiplied to our current CG, Joyful Faith. We are blessed to be part of a CG family that supports, encourages, prays, and journeys with one another through the ups and downs of life.

In Trinity Singapore for 14 years.

I see myself as an ambassador of God who carries a message and the ministry of reconciliation. I believe that family is God’s gift to us when all of us first enter the world and that is the power of God can bring restoration and hope to broken lives and families in society. I also believe that families will thrive when we align ourselves with God’s design for family.

I begin with my own family; we connect and pray together regularly. I observe that this draws us closer to God and one another. Apart from praying over our own lives, we often pray for extended family and friends by name. When we posture ourselves before God and declare scripture over the situation, it softens our hearts and turns our attention away from ourselves; we acknowledge that God is sovereign and mighty to save.

In my work, I seize the chance to encourage and equip youths, couples, and parents. Teaching them it is possible to avoid repeating unhealthy patterns from previous generations and to learn new life-giving ways of relating to one another, to build a strong thriving family.

In a world where God's design for sexuality, marriage, and family is being deconstructed, there have been times when I faced detractors and opposition because of the values that I uphold as a Christian. While it can be discouraging at times, my hope is anchored upon the victory of Christ and His resurrection power that brings life. I am confident that the Light we carry as Christians shines brighter in a world that may seem to be getting darker (Phil 2:15).

I have benefitted from the ministry and discipleship of the leaders and pastors in Trinity. I have also grown as a leader through the various opportunities of serving and I have brought these skillsets and experiences into the marketplace.

As I lead and influence others, God has given me a sense of purpose and destiny in every sphere of influence I am placed in. This encourages me to see that as I avail my five loaves and two fish, I am a vessel to make an impact wherever He has placed me.

My husband and I believe that we can be a witness for God in all aspects of our lives, including keeping a lookout for our colleagues, neighbors, and people who serve us in our community, caring for and connecting with our children’s friends and their parents. Recently, I included my six-year-old child in prayer walks and outreach efforts in our neighborhood. It was an opportunity for us to share the gospel with our neighbors!

I resonate with the vision to impact our world as I see this as a response to Jesus' call for us to be witnesses for Him to the ends of the earth. It excites me because we are empowered by the Holy Spirit for this mission!

In Trinity Jakarta for five years.

I want to be a witness to how good God has been to me. I want to use this position that I am in the workplace, to let people know that there is a living God.

God has shown us His greatness in many encounters in Trinity Jakarta so now every day I pray and submit to God about every matter.

When people are going through tough situations, I will ask, “Can I pray for you.” If they permit me, I tell them, “There's a living God who you can reach out to. And if you believe, if you have faith, He will touch you in a miraculous way.”

I never used to do that, I was hesitant and afraid, but now I am not afraid. I can be professional in the workplace but still live out my faith, and this is what I can do for my colleagues.

The previous year my company spent close to a million dollars on marketing

but had zero return on investment; my boss came to Indonesia to discuss things. I told him, “I have faith. I will do my best, but I know God will do the rest.” My boss is of a different faith and would give me a look like I am mad. This year I spent nothing on marketing, yet the business doubled. Bewildered, my boss asked me, “What is happening?” I told him, “God has made that happen.”

My wife, Rathi as a homemaker had the opportunity to do a home catering business in 2020. However, she decided that God comes first, not the catering business; thus, she closed her catering business on Sundays. We have seen God provide miraculously and she impacts her world by putting God first.

After going on our first mission trip as a couple to Maluku islands in May 2023, we had a boldness and passion to obey God in all that we did.

I have seen Rathi constantly reach out to her non-Christian friends in Jakarta, she tells them about God, encourages them to seek God, and keeps praying for them. We have family prayer every night. We realized that praise, Bible reading, and prayer are integral parts of our daily lives and that missions do not end with returning from a mission trip.

We will continue to share the gospel as missions every day of our lives because we have the good news of Jesus Christ, which needs to be shared with everyone!

Our Ambassador-atLarge, former Lead Pastor of Trinity, Rev Dominic Yeo, became the Chairman of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship on Oct 14, 2023.

Great Britain

Appointed in January 2024

Bi-vocational Pastor in Trinity Birmingham; worshipped there since 1996 when it was called Calvary Temple.

I was employed as a Force Chaplain in 2019 to police within one of 43 police forces across the United Kingdom (UK). As of Jan 2024, I was appointed National Police Chaplain. This new role allows me to provide pastoral and spiritual care for the junior to most senior officers and staff; and speak into many areas of police leadership.

Before this, I was serving part-time on Trinity staff leading the construction of Trinity Birmingham’s new church facility and the coordination of volunteers. It has been an honor to serve God in this capacity these 13 years.

In Chaplaincy, there are ample opportunities to speak the truth of God in situations and issues that affect policing such as ethics, welfare, accountability and transparency, officer mental health and well-being, and more.

I firmly believe that God shapes and graces us for the ministry He puts us in. The skills and abilities I have acquired in the corporate world plus the spiritual gifts God has given me, have helped me to do my job. Building relationships is crucial in pastoral care ministries, especially in Chaplaincy where trust creates opportunities.

Five years ago, when I first became the lead chaplain for a local force, the chaplaincy lacked credibility. There has since been a transformation and now, chaplains are trusted in personal and strategic force matters. In British society, issues arise regarding faith and its expression. While society seems to promote inclusivity, this often wanes when sharing your faith at work.

I firmly believe that God shapes and graces us for the ministry He puts us in.

- Matthew

I rely on Jesus to provide me with wisdom and discernment in navigating societal narratives with clarity. As Matthew Chapter 7 teaches, our actions reveal authenticity, showing others if we truly embody Christ's teachings in our lives.

The past year has been a key transition, and I am intent on following God’s leading and not personal ambition. I am grateful for my Trinity family who prayed and journeyed with me as I waited upon God’s direction when options were presented to me. There is only one plan for me and that is to follow the call of God on my life.

As we seek to impact our world and the people in it, it might require stepping out of our comfort zones into unknown territory and it can be challenging. However, when God speaks, we must follow.

Some of us will be called to travel as global witnesses and others called to stay as witnesses of God's love, grace, and transforming mercy to local communities. Above all, it is encouraging to live out Acts 1 together as a church. I look forward to giving my all where God has placed me and where God leads, I will follow.
