WELCOME A visual celebration of our final year, Thataway proudly displays the graphic design work of all twenty five graduating students. The exhibition concept is inspired by road signs, and how they depict what comes next as we all move forward. Each designer is represented by an arrow, as an indicator of their uniqueness within a creative group. Since joining the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course in summer 2015, we feel we have improved immeasurably, and our design styles and philosophies have evolved exponentially. Three years have passed, and in that time we have experimented and refined our approaches and solutions to a broad and testing range of design tasks. We hope that the variety of work presented is evidence of our continuing progression and professional aspirations. After working alongside one another and aiding each other throughout three very challenging academic years, we believe that our efforts reflect a maturity and sense of ambition that will help us follow those arrows to the future.

What a pleasure and privilege it has been to spend three years in the company of these graduating students. The group includes some of the most driven, hard working, modest, gifted and just plain nice individuals that we have encountered as staff. Their progress from week to week, semester to semester and year to year has often reminded us why we love our job so much. Their sense of humour, and sense of their own emerging aspirations has been a real joy to witness, as they have grown not only as dedicated designers, but also as rounded human beings, curious and excited about what the future holds for them, and the creative contribution they can make to it. And so it is with a degree of sadness, but enormous pride, optimism and indeed expectation, that we shall soon be pointing towards the horizon, awaiting a drum roll, before boldly proclaiming “They went Thataway. - Staff Team BA (Hons) Graphic Design
