Why Study On with UWTSD? “UWTSD has incredibly knowledgeable and passionate lecturers, the support I have received over the years of my academic career at UWTSD has been completely outstanding and is one of the reasons I believe I have excelled in an academic environment. I have experienced some fantastic opportunities throughout my postgraduate studies, being offered the position of a Graduate Teaching Assistant gave me first-hand experience in what it is like to teach in higher education. Other opportunities include real-world industry projects for gaining experience, offers for paid work, and schemes with local companies for further work opportunities and experience.”

David Robin James MSc Software Engineering & Artificial Intelligence

“How I came to study at UWTSD is not as straight forward as most people. I finished sixth form aged 18 with no idea what I wanted to do and all the incorrect qualifications for an engineering degree. I’d always had a passion for motorsport and had always taken things apart to see what made them tick. A friend mentioned an engineering degree focused on Motorsport at UWTSD that included a foundation year bringing my maths and physics abilities up to speed. I decided to take the plunge and give it a go. It is now four years later, and I honestly believe studying at UWTSD is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s pushed me to become my best self and I can now say I have a 1st Class Engineering degree and now studying for my master’s. “

Callum James Hill MSc Motorsport Engineering

“I chose to study with UWTSD because the training we are given is exceptional. The tutors are very encouraging and want us to excel not only in our training in the University but in our further careers too. UWTSD had helped me to gain the skills, confidence and enthusiasm in dancing, singing and acting, which is needed for my future, while being in a safe and nurturing environment. I decided to stay on to do the postgraduate degree because I have made friends for life during my undergraduate studies, and I didn’t want to let go of my wonderful tutors just yet! The past three years have made a massive impact on my life and I’m very thankful for helping me to become the person that I am today.”

Research Experienced staff advise and support research students within their area of study. UWTSD also seeks to provide research students with the skills they need to develop their academic and professional careers, as well as helping them feel part of a wider academic community.
