excellence when they received their excellent A Level results. 60 students achieved three A Levels at A* or A, and 87% of all grades achieved were A*, A or B. We have also seen one of our best years for
university entry, with 95% of students securing a place at either their firm or insurance choice on results day.

These results reflect the hard work of our students and their teachers, as well as the support of their families. We are very proud of all they have achieved and learnt at Trinity, and they can move on to the next stage of their education with real confidence, not just on the back of these results but because of the values and strength of character they carry with them. We wish them enjoyment and success as they embark on the path they have chosen next, whether that be university, college, or apprenticeship.

Turning filmmaking from a hobby into a profession has always been my goal, and I can’t wait to focus solely on doing what I enjoy the most, which is making films. From research I knew that Bournemouth has some of the best industry links, so it really set it apart from other options as, in film, your chances of finding work are so heavily reliant on who you know. It’s with a mixture of excitement and sadness that I leave Trinity. I definitely feel as though I’m prepared and ready to go, but I will always be grateful for many memories and lessons I will be bringing with me, both to university and onward.

Joiningin Another successful
Trinity Arts Festival
Our fifth annual celebration of the arts was another fantastic success. This event has proved to be one of the most popular weeks in the school calendar and this
year’s varied and inspiring programme of events, including our summer concert, outdoor performances of Cyrano de Bergerac, a buskers’ lunch, and a lunchtime
performance at London’s infamous jazz venue Ronnie Scott’s, did not disappoint!

U13 water polo team named
national champions Our water polo team won the national title at the ESSA
water polo championships at Northampton Boys School. The team joined our U15s in winning the coveted title, marking
the first time in our history that we have held two age group national titles at the same time. Trinity is the only school in the country to have won national titles in each of the five decades since the tournament began.

Students raise ÂŁ11,000 for charity
Our students have raised a fantastic ÂŁ11,000 for charity this year. The total follows our most recent charity day, where
students ran stalls and had the opportunity to soak some of their teachers. Other events throughout the past academic year have included a swimathon, which raised ÂŁ1,600, and mufti days. The total will be split across the 48 different charities our forms have chosen to support, including
Cancer Research; WWF; the Lily Foundation; Heads Together; Medicinema, and Plastic Oceans (to name but a few!)
Another great year for the Trinity Triathlon Over 450 5-19 year olds swam, ran and
cycled their way through this year’s Trinity Triathlon. Named Children’s Event of the
Year in 2016 and London Region’s Children’s Event of the Year by Triathlon England for
three consecutive years, the Trinity Triathlon is one of the largest events of its kind in the UK. Now in its ninth year, the event attracts vast numbers of participants from across
the South of England. One parent said: “My daughter had a wonderful time. We want
to thank you and the team for hosting such an enjoyable and well-organised event. It
was her first triathlon and she will definitely participate again next year.”
You can find out more about the Trinity
Triathlon, and how to enter, on our website.
Galactic Challenge
out of this world! Local primary schools joined us for our Galactic Challenge day, forming ‘company teams’ with our Junior Form
students to develop proposals for a Mars research base.
Our students were both eager competitors and excellent collaborators and hosts to our young visitors. Our Third
Form students worked as guides and technical experts, and our Sixth Form students oversaw proceedings as company CEOs for the challenge.

Lucy Charlton,
one of our trip leaders, said:
The trip was a really special experience. We were fortunate to see the positive impact of our work on local schools and communities and our students shared some lovely lessons, songs and memories with both the children and adults. Everyone involved will have their own memories that will undoubtedly help to shape the way we think in the future.

Our annual, three week trip to
Chipwepwete, Malawi A group of our students and staff travelled to Malawi this summer for our annual, three-week trip to Chipwepwete.
During their stay, the students taught lessons, covering subjects
including fractions, convection and reading; sang songs with the
pupils; played games, and made porridge for them every morning. The group also took part in construction activities, including building stoves for local families, digging foundations for a new secondary school and helping with forestry.
Along with their work in the local community, the group had the
opportunity to explore the local area. They climbed Mount Mulanje, went on safari to see hippos, crocodiles and elephants, and visited nearby Zebra Island.
