If you are a first-time guest, we invite you to complete a guest card from a pew pocket or the Friendship Register and drop it in the offering plate so that we may get acquainted with you. Also, text “Explore” to 816-355-4736. We would like to communicate with you via text and email with some brief informational messages over the next few weeks. Your information is private and will not be used for any other purpose than to keep you informed about 2BC. Please see an usher if you’d like a listening aid.

Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), Our Hospitality Team is waiting to help you get connected. This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the day’s activities and schedule. You may also enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second. Children’s worship bags, filled with books and activities, are available at the Sanctuary entrances. If you’d like an alternative for your children, childcare for birth through Pre-K is available on Level 2 at any point in the service. Our Welcome Center is also available for those with restless infants, and you can view the service on a monitor there.

In addition to placing your offering in the offering plate, you can give online at 2bcliberty.org/give or via your smartphone by scanning this QR code. We have “online giving” cards in the pew rack that you can place in the offering plate to represent your gift if you choose.

Take a moment to prepare your heart for worship. The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Mike Lassiter

And the Lord commanded, you may freely eat of every tree in the garden; but of the tree of knowledge you may not eat, for in the day you eat of it you will surely die. But the serpent said, “You shall not die, for God knows when you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God.” Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Many are the torments of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds those who trust in the Lord.

Each Sunday in Lent we extinguish a candle as we move closer to the darkness of Good Friday.

EVENSONG “SOLA” Wednesdays March 8 - 29 | 6:30 | Social Room Five hundred years ago, a movement of people began to question what their church taught and as a result, they developed the tenets of what became known as The Reformation. When you look at the tenets, you easily see the influence on Baptists as well as many other Protestant traditions. During Evensong, we will reflect on a different tenet each of the five evenings. These ancient teachings that still hold value for us today: Sola Scriptura. . .Sola Gratia. . .Sola Fide. . .Sola Christus. . .Soli Deo Gloria (Scripture alone. . . grace alone. . .faith alone. . .Christ alone, , ,to God alone be the glory). While Sunday morning Lenten focus will be on the collective Together We Believe, during Evensong we will look at these singular, powerful tenets of historical Christian tradition.
