If you are a first-time guest, we invite you to complete a guest card from a pew pocket or the Friendship Register and drop it in the offering plate so that we may get acquainted with you. Also, text “Explore” to 816-355-4736. We would like to communicate with you via text and email with some brief informational messages over the next few weeks. Your information is private and will not be used for any other purpose than to keep you informed about 2BC.

Take a moment to prepare your heart for worship Everyone must decide whether they will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness. ― Martin Luther King Jr.

Please see an usher if you’d like a listening aid. Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), Our Hospitality Team is waiting to help you get connected. This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the day’s activities and schedule. You may also enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second. Children’s worship bags, filled with books and activities, are available at the Sanctuary entrances. If you’d like an alternative for your children, childcare for birth through Pre-K is available on Level 2 at any point in the service. Our Welcome Center is also available for those with restless infants, and you can view the service on a monitor there.

In addition to placing your offering in the offering plate, you can give online at 2bcliberty.org/give or via your smartphone by scanning this QR code. We have “online giving” cards in the pew rack that you can place in the offering plate to represent your gift if you choose.

Psalm 23

Gwen Phillips

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

If you enjoy extending hospitality, and meeting people, then this opportunity is for you. Sign up on The Hub/Forms/ Liberty Fall Festival 2BC Volunteers or call the church office at 781-2824. BLOG Yes, Virginia—we do have a blog! A blog is a great place for our faith community to communicate with one another. It's a place where staff can educate about church ministries and mission work. It's a place to share motivations and encouragements. It's an active blog. Recently, we have enlisted a number of writers from within our congregation to write short blogs. They will cover topics such as Second Friends Preschool and MOPS; a member's experiences in China; how In As Much Ministry has a true and lasting effect on one person's life. You'll find information and inspiration there by following our blog. Please feel free to leave a comment or two as well. Today's is written by Connie McNeill. She talks about how we can influence others and the choices they make. Worth a few minutes to read at 2bcliberty.org/blog

STUDENTS FALL SEMESTER MEAL SIGN-UP Each Sunday we like to provide a light breakfast during morning Bible Study and a snack supper at the start of Innermission. These meals help everyone feel welcome and give students a chance to build friendships. To do this we need your help! Carolyn Fulk will be organizing our Sunday morning breakfasts this year. If you're interested, feel free to e-mail her at fulkfamily@sbcglobal.net. She'll also be sending out personal requests as well. We have created a volunteer page to organize our Snack Suppers. If you'd like to sign up for one of these dates please follow the link below. We're asking each family to provide at least two meals (which includes breakfast and/or snack supper) this semester. Please remember when preparing meals that we do need to be conscious of food allergies (no nuts!) and diet choices. Sign up to provide Snack Supper here: http:// signup.com/go/LMHFUCG
