If you are a first-time guest, please complete a guest card from a pew pocket or Friendship Register and drop it in the offering plate so that we may get acquainted with you. Also, text “Explore” to 816-355-4736. We would like to communicate with you via text and email with some brief informational messages over the next few weeks. Please see an usher if you’d like a listening aid. Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), our Hospitality Team is waiting to help you get connected. This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the day’s activities and schedule. You may also enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second. Children’s worship bags filled with books and activities are available at the Sanctuary entrances. If you’d like an alternative for your children, childcare for birth through Pre-K is available on Level 2 at any point in the service. Our Welcome Center is also available for those with restless infants, and you can view the service on a monitor there.

Take a moment to prepare your heart for worship…

"All of the places of our lives are sanctuaries; some of them just happen to have steeples. And all of the people in our lives are saints; it is just that some of them have day jobs and most will never have feast days named for them." — Robert Benson, Between the Dreaming and the Coming True "I am reminded of the biblical use of the term saint in the book of Acts. That it applies to each of us. All who are attempting to imitate the Christ in their lives merit the title of 'saint.' Some do it more fully than others and are willing to let go of more to get the job done." — Matthew Fox, Confessions

In addition to placing your offering in the offering plate, you can give online at 2bcliberty.org/give or via your smartphone by scanning this QR code. We have “online giving” cards in the pew rack that you can place in the offering plate to represent your gift if you choose.

Leader: We give you thanks, O God, for those whom we have loved. People: We give you thanks for the joy and the love, the insight and the strength that they gave to us. Leader: We thank you, O Lord, for bringing these unique people into being, and for bringing them into our lives. People: And now their death has left an empty place within us. Leader: So we pray for the days when that empty place hurts like a raw wound and for the days when it returns as a gentle ache in the midst of the everyday living of our lives. People: We hold on to the memory of those who have died, but we also pray for the grace to let go of any hurts unforgiven any conflict unresolved, and any words from the heart left unsaid. Leader: O Lord, you have promised your presence through the valley of the shadow of death. People: We pray in confident trust that those who have passed through that valley are now in your gentle arms. And for us who remain on this side of the valley, we pray for strength in our grieving and joy in our remembering. Leader: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses … let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us.” People: For these, our family and friends, we give you thanks.
