Photo shoot evaluation I think that my photoshoot was effective because in linked in well with the theme of relationships and it met the main aim of the photoshoot well which was to capture ideas that I had previously looked at on pinterest. I found a variety of different ideas on pinterest and interpreted them to how I thought that they would link in well with the theme of relationships. I think that the strengths of this photoshoot was how the photographs came out, and how well they linked in with the theme of relationships- this is because I think that the photos of a persons mouth and words have a really good link with eachother, and it creates a good effect.
Photo shoot ideas My photoshoot ideas were taken from inspiration from Pinterest. I got ideas for my different type of relationships from pictures that I saw on there,I then interepreted them in my own way to make them link with my view of relatinships. I photographed the relationship between a person and different words, and also the different types of relationship that you can have with someone, for example; brother, sister, mum dad, girlfriend/boyfriend, friend etc. I also photographed the different relationships that there can be between an environment and the person that is in it. I also got this idea from pinterest, so decided to photograph a person in a variety of different positions, I then photographed a variety of different environments, including the sky and different trees, during different times of the day.

Was to capture images for a mindmap that is based around different ideas that we thought represented relationships. For example we were looking at different artists to do with relationships, and different ideas from Pinterest. We then had to take a variety of different photographs to represent different types of relationships, and so we would be able to start exploring the theme and interpret it how we saw it.

xperimenting
Here I have experimented with
using different photograaphs that I took simply of a model from different angels, and I have then begun to put photographs over the top of them and blend them together and change the opacity of them so that you are able to see both of the photographs. I think that this was an effective shoot because it was more focused on the editing of the photographs and blending two photos together. This was good because it showed that I can use a variety of differnet skills on photoshop and shows techniques that I am able to do. It linked in well with the theme of relationships because there is some sort of relationship between the model and the environment that has been photographed. Whether that relationship is something that is being thought about or whether you would actually be living in that environment. I have also blended some of these photographs that I took for this shoot with a previ-
O
with
ous shoot that I did for my mindmap. I thought that this was relevant and effective because they have a nice link together. Because the first photoshoot where I photographed someones mouth holding different words, this links in well with the photographs of this model because some of the words link in with what is in the photograph. I also think that overlapping text is effective on top of photographs. Photographers that I have looked at in my research have done that and aswell as looking good I think that it links in very well with the theme of relationships. This is because the words that are over the top of the photograph or around it may say something about what is actually in the photos, and that creates a really good link between the two. If I was to re-shoot this original photoshoot that I would make the model do a variety of different expressions on her face, which would show different emotions that may be felt.

I have experimented here with overlapping photos ontop of eachother to create an interesting effect. My theme that I am looking at is relationships, i have then taken this slightly further and have begun to look how how people and the environment have different types of relationships. I have taken two pictures, one of a models face from different angles and then I have taken pictures of a variety of different weather conditions and environments. I have then overlapped the photos of the environment ontop of the photos of the model so it looks like it is a part of her face. I think that this links in very well with the theme of relationships, because instead of simply looking at the relationships between two different people I have begun to look at the relationship between the environment and a person.

I think that the strengths of this shoot were how I edited them using photoshop- I think that they were effective and showed that I am able to use a variety of techniques. I also think that they ahd a very good link with relationships- and as I had taken the theme slightly further and begun to look at the link with people and the environment, I think that it linked in very well with that. If I was to re-shoot this photographs then next time I think I would take a wider variety of pictures of environments, and different weather conditions so that the images were able to look very different from eachother.
Photo shoot evaluation
I came up with my idea of this photograph by looking at different ideas on pinterest- I found an interesting image that was a photograph of a girl and then an environment has been copy and pasted and blended over her face to look like the two images were merged together. I interepted this idea and took a variety of different photos of a model in a complete blank background in different positions (including upclose of the face, and further away). I also then photographed a variety of different environments and weather conditions. On photoshop I then cut out and copy and pasted the photograph of the environment ontop of the models face, and changed the blending mode so that you were able to see both of the photographs.

teven Pippin is an English artist, he works with converted or improvised photographic equipment and kinetic sculptures. It shows that Pippin has a strong interest in the mechanical side of photography, and he says
that this stemed from an early chuldhood of seeing his father surrounded by wires and tubes of a television. His early work was based on coverting furniture and everyday objects into makeshift pinhole cameras. It would involve a significant amount of planning to overcome the
problems that were posed by the chosen object. He would have to plan and construct a significant amount of supporting equipment in order to achieve his pictures. They would therefore give a link back to the object which was used as a camera.
P
ippin used a variety of different objects in his photography including bath tubs, wardrobes and washing machines converted so they function as cameras. He has previously been shorte listed for the Turner Prize at the Tate Gallery in London, his work was based on the Laundromat Locomotion. Steven made his name by being known as a maker of cameras. After an apprenticeship at an engineering factory, he became his firms industrial photographer. He then spent a year creating a camera out of a biscui tin at Brighton Art College.
He had majority of his inspiration from his fa-
ther, but took his idea a stage further and made a pinhole camera out of a bath lined with photographic paper and wheeled it, on a custom built trolley down to brighton beach where he took photographs. He then went onto make a camera out of a fridge, and used it to take pictures of the content inside. He spent three months travelling from london to brighton on a train, where he had converted the lavatory into a photographic studio, using the toilet as a camera.

Artist Interpretations- Tina Barney
I
have interpretated the photographer Tina Barneys work by looking at her photographs and then setting out a photoshoot of my own but changing it slightly. I have looked at three main photographs that she has taken, and tried to interpretate them but change them slightly by the environment that they are in, and the way that they are edited. I have looked at her photograph when the models in that photoshoot are wearing ballet clothes. I have interpretated that by getting my models in my photoshoot to wear ballet clothes but I have put them in a different environment. I have also experimented with editing them in different ways, and the colours that have been used. I think that this was effective because it links in well with the theme of Relationships that I am doing., because you can see a relationship between the contrasting colours. Where some of the picture is in black and white, and the rest is in colour. I have interepreted another photograph of Tina Barneys when there is a young girl and an oldman in a bedroom and they are leaning against the bed. I have changed that slightly as I have used two girls in my photograph, and again I have changed the editing in some of the shots that I got.
I
have also interpreted a photograph that Tina Barney took when there is a variety of different people looking over a river, the person who is closest to the camera is looking right into the lense. I have changed this slightly as in some of my shots from my photoshoot you can see both of the models faces, and I have only used two people in this shot, whereas in her work she has used more people. I chose to use Tina Barney as tghe photographer that I was going to interpret because I find her photography very interesting to look at. I also think that her work links well with the theme of realtionships that I am studying. This is because in alot of her work she has multiple models which links with relationships because it leaves you thinking what kind of realtionship there is between the different people in the shot. For example you could say that there is a relationship between the different people in the shoot, you could also say that there is a relationship between that person and the colour that has been used (because a variety of different bright colours have been used in her work) You could also suggest that there is a realtionship between the person and the environment that they are in. I think in future photoshoots that I plan on doing i can use aspects from Tina Barneys work, for example I could shoot them in similar places, and I could also use a variety of different models.

I also experimnted with editing them in different ways. For example the photograph above is both in black and white and in colour. I decided to have the background and the bottom half of the rose in black and white and the top half of the rose in colour with the petals falling off. I think that this was an effective link between relationships because it shows that there is a relationship between dark colours and light colours. This links in with photoshoots that I have done, as I have taken the theme of relationships further and have begun to look at the relationships between different colours. I think that it was effective to use different materials behind the objects because it created a different look in all of them, and a different texture. My favourite photograph that I took was with the falling pink rose petals, the red flowers and the yellow flowers. I placed them over cling film, this is my favourite because when I have edited it the colour has been reflected and caught in the cling film which links in well with the relationship of colour that I have begun to look at.
I have scanned a variety of different objects using the scanner at school. These objects involved a rose, petals, headphones, a bracelet, a key and a lip balm. I also experimented with using different materials and different backgrounds. I think that this photoshoot linked in well with the theme of relationships because the different items have a relationship between eachother, and some of them dont. There is also a relationship that has been created through the different colours, including the pink of the rose, the yellow of the lip balm and the yellow rose.
I would like to take this idea further in my work and experiment with scanning different objects and then using them in my photographs. I think that this has a good link with relationships because you can gather a variety of different objects that have a relationship together and then scan them all together. If I was to do this again then I think that I would gather objects that had brighter colours, I think that this would be effective because the colours would stand out even better and when edited they would look better.
Relationships colour and the environment -
This photoshoot was based on
the theme of relationships. I decided to use people, colour and the environment to represent this. I used the colour red as I think that the use of such a strong colour was effective in this shoot, and because it is a colour that can link to alot of different relationships, such as love, hate and anger. I decided to use two models in my shoot because I think that this represented relationships well. In some of
the photos you can see the models are closer together which would show a closer relationship between them, but then in some of them they are further apart which shows a more distant relationship between the pair. I think that use multiple models in my photoshoot also links in well with artists that I have looked at, for example Tina Barney. I have edited these photographs the way that I have so that the colour red of the dresses
that they are wearing stands-out. This is because I have gone deeper into the theme of relationships and have begun to look at both colour and environment. So the colour that I have chosen stands out very well in this environment, because the place that I chose to shoot these photos in is quite dull and there is not alot of colour.
O utdoor photoshoot - my own photos
I have edited these photographs in a
slightly different way to show different techniques that I can use on photoshop. I have experimented with use different colours aswell as the colour of red of the dresses. I decided to do this edit using a variety of different colours because I think that it linked in very well with my theme. This shows the relationship between a variety of different colours, which could create the mood of happiness. I have also edited some of my photographs overlapping two photographs ontop of eachother, and changing the opacity of them so you can see both of the images. This links in with the theme of relationships because there is a relationship between the people that I have photographed.
You can see the relationship
well in this photograph because of the way that the models are looking at eachother in this photograph. This shows an emotion through the relationship between these two people, this relationship could be friendship, happiness or sadness. Again I have edited this photograph on photoshop and first edited it using camera raw. I then went on to edit it further and used the same photograph and overlapped it twice. I then changed the opacity so that it allowed different colours to come through, called ‘luminosty’. I think that this was an effective filter to use because it links in with the relationship of colour. This is because the main colour that I was looking at was red, and that showed a variety of different emotions and relationships. But this filter allowing a variety of differnet colours to be let through shows more emotions and a different type of relationship (happiness and friendship), whereas before with only dark colours, and red to be showing that showed the emotion of both love and hate. Colour and the environment is a good relationship I think to look at because you can go of in many different directions. In future photoshoots I could do a colour which links in with the environment, but here I have a chosen a colour that stands out for the environment. If I was to re-shoot this photoshoot then I would use more red in the shoot, for example red makeup, or red objects in the environment, or they could be holding something that is red.

BLACK& WHITE E D I T S
I have decided to edit these photographs into black&white because I think that it was an effective contrast against the theme of the photoshoot. The theme of this photoshoot is relationships- and I believe that I showed that by the use of expressions that are on the models faces. Also by the how they are standing you can tell that there is some sort of relationships between the two of them - sometimes one is looking at the other, whilst the other is looking away, and sometimes they are both looking at eachother. This shows a vast variety of emotions, which shows that there are many different types of relationships between them. Going further into looking at the theme of relationships I decided to look at the different types of relationships that there are between colour and the environment. These photographs were originally in colour, and the colour of the dresses that the models were wearing was a very bright red and it stood out well against the dull environment that they were in. However I decided to edit these two photographs so that they were in black and white - first of all to show a variety of different edits and techniques that I can do. Also, I think that changing this photo to black&white shows a good contrast to the theme of colour and the environment. This is because there is no longer any colour in the photograph, so it enables you to look at the other signs of a relationship that the two models could have - eg. by looking at the expressions on there face, how close and how they are standing next to eachother and whether they are looking at eachother or if eye contact is something that isnt seen. Particularly in these two photographs you can see that there is a relationship between the models, this is because in the first one to the left they are both looking at eachother, so that may mean that they have a serious relationship . In contrast to the one on the right where one model is looking at the other, but the other is looking off into a complete different direction.

I
have also done scans of objects that I bought into a lesson. This links well with the theme of relationships because there is a link and a different type of relationship between each object, and how they are placed slightly different in each photograph. I have also done a photoshoot which I used in my midmap where I used text. I think that this links in really well with the theme of relationships, this is because there is a link between the words and the person that I have photographed. I also decided to do a photoshoot, where I took pictures of just a plain face and shoulders showing and I also photographed the sky and tree in differnet areas. I think overlapped these two images, so it looked like the sky was on top of the models face. I think that this links in well with the theme of relationships because it is the relationship between the person and the environment that they are living in. This is effective because you could go in many different directions looking at this.

So far I have looked at a variety
of different types of relationships. This is including relationships between different people and how they see eachother, relationships between a person and the words that they have around them, linking with the relationships with people that may be around them. I have then gone further into this theme and have looked at the relationship between a person and the environment that they live in, I think that this is effective because you could link the emotion of someone face with the emotion of the environment. For example if you photographed someone with an angry face then you could overlap a picture on top of that of the sky during a thunder storm. Finally I have also looked at the relationship between different objects, these including a flower and its petal, headphones, a key and lip balm. I think that this was effective to look at because it was exploring a different type of relationship and not those just between people, but have different objects can have a reltionship with eachother.
F rom
I have done a variety of different photoshoots so
far, based on the theme of Relationships. I have taken photographs interpreted by photographers such as Tina Barney, but have changed these ideas slightly. I have also found photographs which I like on pinterest that I think link to the theme of Relationships and have done photoshoots based around them. I decided to do a photoshoot that is based around words that link with relationships because I thought that this was an intresting way of exploring the relationship between words and a person, but also the different types of relationships that there are. I have looked at a variety of different artitsts including David Spero.
I
also did a photoshoot that was based around the theme of colour and the environment. I have then edited these photographs into black and white because it can show the contrast between the original colour that was in them, which was red- and the darkness of the images now. I think that these photos show a good link with the theme of relationships that I am looking at because the models in the photographs seem to have very similar facial expressions and they are wearing similar clothing.

I have done a re-shoot of an original photoshoot that
I did based around the idea of Relationships linking with colour and the environment. I have progressed my ideas and have changed the photoshoot slightly and improved apon ideas that I thought I could do better in. In my original photoshoot I based it around the colour red as that linked with different emotions that the two models had, for example both love and hate. I have changed the theme of the colour this time to yellow and blue. The colour yellow was chosen because I think that this links very well with happiness, and as I used an outdoor environment, the colour links in well with that. I progressed my ideas by not onling having the models wearing a certain colour, but my using props and objects that are also that colour. In the yellow photoshoot I had put yellow flowers in there hair, and coming out of different parts of their clothes, they are also holding them. I thought that this was an effective idea to have because in my first photoshoot you could see what the main colour focus was, but it was slightly plain as the red dresses was all that was in colour. I think by using flowers in the shoot it links in well with the environment that I chose because it is an outdoor environment, and there were many flowers that were growing near by.
Relationships between colour and the environment
R
e l a t i o n s h i p s - c o l o u r a n d t h e e n v i r o n m e n t
You can see that there is a relationship between
the two models by the way that they are looking at eachother. I decided to do a variety of shots, some far away and some closer up. In some of the photographs both of the models are looking directly into the lense, whereas in others one is, in some neither of them are looking at the camera. I think that this links in well with the theme of relationships because it enables you to see that there is many different relationships between them. I decided to use the colour blue because I think that it links in very well the the environment that I was taking these photographs in, blue is a quite a natural colour as the sky is blue and there was a river close by which reflected nicely as blue. I have again progressed by ideas by not only using blue outfits, but having them holding blue flowers, blue flowers being in there hair, and having blue makeup on there face. I did a variety of different shots involving close up so you can see the makeup on there faces, and longer shots so you can see all of the colour in the image.
In some edits I have overlapped photographs with
the blue theme, with photographs with the yellow theme. I did this because I think that it shows a good relationship between the two colours, and shows a good link with the environment. I have kept my edits quite simple because I think that it allows the colour to be really seen and allows you to see the main focus of the photoshoot which was the different colour themes. If I was to do this photoshoot again then I may include a blue background, or blue or yellow objects to be in the background. This is because it would really emphasis the focus of this shoot. Also if I was to re-shoot I could consider putting two colours together, this could create a different type of relationship between the colours. As in this shoot I have focused on the link between the environment and different colours, whereas I could focus on the link between the different being put together, whether they go well together, or if they contrast eachother and dont go well.
Relationships with colour - outdoor shoot
I have edited this photograph slightly different from
the others and have placed a scan that I did of a flower over the top of a photograph that I took in this shoot colour and the enviroment. I think that this was effective because the flowers link in with the photograph of the models because they are holding flowers in the photo. I think that putting black and white over a colour photograph is also effective, this is because I think that the colours contrast very well together and because another object is being placed over the top, it dosent look like there is too much going on in the photograph because it has been put in black and white. I would like to do something like this in my final piece but do it manually instead, I think that it would make the piece look more interesting.
I have edited this pho-
tograph in a slight different way from the others, I firstly edited it using camera raw and adjusted the contrast, saturation etc but I then went onto further editing it by using different photographs that I had taken. I used the yellow flowers that I scanned and overlapped them on top of this image, I did this because I think that they linked in well with eachother because they both include yellow flowers and that builds some sort of relationship between the two. I went onto cutting the flowers out so that it did not have any other flowers surrounding it, and so that it also didnt have a background. I then overlapped them ontop of this image and moved them around slightly where I thought that they looked best.

above of the yellow flower is the one that looks y favourite image that I have cropped is the one most different from the orignal. I think that cropabove of the yellow flower. This is because I think ping would be effectibe to use in my own work and that it is the one that looks like the most different maybe in my final piece because it shows that you from the original photograph that I cropped. The are using a different technique. Also I think that it idea of this technique is to make the parts of the has a very good link to the theme of relationships image that you have cropped look different from that we have been looking at, because all of the imthe original photograph and I think that the one ages are from the same photo but different areas.
Cropping the image changes how we see the image
as a whole because it is allowing us to only see a certain part of it. Because you are cutting out such a large part of the image you now see it completely differently to how it was before, it almost looks like a whole other photograph which is the point of cropping. I chose this image to use for cropping because I think that you are able to see different areas of the photograph and they look completely different from eachother which was the main point of the technique. I think that
cropping would be effectibve to use in my final piece because with other photographs that I could take it might be nice to build up one big photograph, but have that photograph split up so that in certain areas it is more zoomed in. I could take this idea of cropping further by using it on larger scale images, and using it on photographs that I have taken for the theme relationships of people. I think that it would be effective to use this technique on people because it would really enable you to see it zoomed in, and differnet areas of the image.
R
o t a t i o n We
have experimented with a variety of different possible ideas regarding our relationship theme. This technique is rotation, I have taken the same image and have copy and pasted it repeatedly and have then rotated certain parts of the image so that it looks like it is reflecting into eachother. I have done this in different
shaped boxes to experiment with which looks best, and most effective. My favourite edit that I have done is the largest one that is above. This is because I think that it shows this technique in the best way because it reflects very well, and it has created almost a pattern because of the way that it has rotated and fit together.
We
have used the technique of repetition here to edit photographs that I took in a photoshoot based around colours and relationships. I have done a variety of different edits of repetition to show the photographs in different ways. The photograph to the left I have copy and pasted the photograph a number of times and each time have made the square slightly smaller, so they all fit in together. I have also changed the opacity of each of the photographs, the one that is smallest and is in the middle is 100% opacity, and as the photograph moves outwards the opacity begins to get less. I have edited the photograph below to the left in a similar way but this time I have used a circle shape instead of a square. I think that this is effective because it shows a different technique then the one before. I think that this technique of repetition links in well with the theme of relationships, this is because it shows the photo repeating itself and it shows that there is relationship between each one, and how they link together. To the right I have done it slightly different and have put the photograph in a hexagon and have then changed the opacity. I also edited this one differently by overlapping the images side to side, I think that this was effective because again it shows a different technique that I have used, and it really enphasises the last photograph and how clear it is. I think that this technique links in well with the theme of relationships that we have been looking at.

also experimented with the technique of putting text around the outside of a photograph. I think that this links in really well with the theme of relationships, this is because there can be seen that there is a relationship between the person in the photograph and the text that is around the photograph. I have experimented with using different sized photographs and different oriantations of photographs. I would like to take this idea further
in my work and experiment with scanning different objects and then using them in my photographs. I think that this has a good link with relationships because you can gather a variety of different objects that have a relationship together and then scan them all together. If I was to do this again then I think that I would gather objects that had brighter colours, I think that this would be effective because the colours would stand out even better and when edited they would look better.

have been looking on pinterest for a variety of different ideas that I could possibly take inspiration from for my final piece. I like the photograph above to the left because I think that it looks very interesting and I like how both bright colours and black and white has been used. I also like how How two types of materials have been used, and the material that is in colour and that is on top is overlapping the photograph underneath. I would take inspiration from this idea and use it in my final piece by using a photgraph that I have taken from the colour and environment shoot, I would then place flowers over the top of this photograph and overlap it with a different material. I think that this would look interesting, and it would also link well with the theme that I am looking at ‘relationships’. I think that it would link well with this theme because some sort of relationship would form from the photograph that is underneath, and the objects that are placed on top of that- the objects that would be placed wouldnt just be random objects, but they would actually have something to do with what is in the photograph, this will then mean that there is some sort of relationship between them.

hese two photographs that I have chosen look interesting to me both in completely different ways. First of all I like the photograph that is on the leeft because I like the use of bright colour that has been used, and I think that it contrasts well against the dark background. I also like the way that the differnt photographs and objects have been placed, I like how they are not all just in a straight line but how they are placed differently and at some sort of angle. I also like how photos and objects have been put on top of eachother and how some look like they are more 3D and are actually coming out of the piece, I think that it adds more to the piece as a whole and makes it look more interesting to look at. I could use ideas like this in my final piece by having other objects
and images coming out of an orignal photograph that I took, and placing things so they are at a slight different angle and so they are not always so straight all the time. I chose the photograph on the right because I think that it is interesting to have two photographs of the same place but that look different next to eachother. I like how the photos involve complete different colours because I think that they contrast well against eachother. I could take inspiration from this piece and use two photographs that I took that look slightly similar but are different colours. I could then place them next to eachother and present my piece in that sort of way, I think that this would look effective as the colours would go well next to eachother.
P I N T E R E S T over the top of a photograph and has extended them so that they are actually coming out of the photograph. I think that I would be able to take inspiration from this piece of work by the use of colour that they have used, also I like the idea of using big objects that are different from the photograph underneath ontop of the photograph. I think that this creates an exciting emotion and draws you into looking at the photographs more.

chose this image above because I like the use of colour that the artist/photographer has used. I have taken the theme of relationships further and have started to look at the relationships between different colours and there environments. I think that this photograph links in well with this theme because there focus colour is yellow, and they have placed that in a different environment. I also like how this artist has used large objects
I have experi-
mented here with what I would like my final piece to look like. These are the images that I have chosen from my reshoot of the original photoshoot that I did of colour and the environment. I decided to re-shoot the original shoot because I wanted to add more to the images, as the main focus of this photoshoot was the colour that I chose I wanted to add more colour to the images, including blue objects and blue makeup. I have also added the images of the flowers that I scanned to my mock up. I did this because I thought that these images were very strong and also because I thought that they linked in very well with the theme and the photographs themselves.

I have then gone on further to manually edit the photographs and add more ontop of them. I have begun to put blue squares over the top of the photograph on the right, I think that this is effective because the colour links in well as the colour theme that I chose for this photoshoot was blue. In my final piece I plan on adding more materials to the photographs and making them larger in scale. I plan on printing my photographs out A2 size and then putting them in white frames- I think that white frames will look best because the photographs are coloured. The matierals that I plan on adding to the photographs are blue beads that will link in with the glitter on the models faces, sewing ontop of the photographs, objects coming out of the photo, and drawing ontop of the photograph in white pen.

have carried on my idea here of colour linking with the environment, but I have slightly changed it this time as I have changed the environment that I took the photographs in. I think that it was effective taking the photographs in an indoor environment, because it enabled me to be able to
and for that to be the main aim of the photoshoot. I edited these photographs using camera raw on photoshop, I decided to edit them this way because I think that they only need editing slightly to adjust the contrast, brightness, saturation etc. This is because the main aim of the photoshoot was linking the colour with the e n v i r o n
adjust the lighting to how I wanted it too look. Also I decided to use a bath to take my photos in because it is a different type of environment, and as my theme within relationships is colour and the environment I thought that it was appropriate. It allowed me to add more colour,
ment, so the photos still had to look blue which was the main focus colour of these images. If i was to re-shoot these photographs then I think that I would take more photographs and use different expressions on the face as I think that that would explore in more depth the theme of relationships.

This
photoshoot was a carry on from the shoot that I did of colour and the environment. This time I have taken the idea further and have slightly changed it because I have used a different environment, I used a bath instead of an outdoors environment. I think that this was effective because it made the pictures more interesting to look at., and it made them look different from how they did before. If I was to redo this shoot atall I think that I would combine the ideas of using a bath, but using it outdoors so that my ideas were combining together .

I have edited these photographs simply but just using camera raw to adjust the contrast, saturation, brightness etc. I ed-
ited them this way because the main focus of the image was the colour, and I think by having a high contrast on the majority of the photos it allowed the bright yellow colour to come through, so you could see that this was obviously the main focus of the photoshoot. I think that these photos link in well with the theme of relationships that I have looked at, this is because the colour and the model in the photograph will have some sort of relationship, and so will the environment.

I think the strengths of this shoot was experimenting with different ideas and different environments, also looking at the theme of colour and the environment in more depth. I think that this allowed me to create effective photographs that linked in very well the theme that I have been looking at. If I was to re-shoot this photoshoot then next time I think that I would take a wider variety of photographs, and make sure that the lighting that was in the room was how I wanted it to be. Some of the photographs that I took came out very blurry because the lighting wasnt bright enough, so if I was to take these photos again then I would make sure that the light was bright enough and the pictures would not come out blurred.
Photo shoot evaluation
My photoshoot ideas were to take the theme of relationships and colour and the environment further. I wanted to look at a variety of different environments other than the woods because I think that it would make the photographs that I took look interesting and more exciting. My ideas were to do a blue and yellow photoshoot that links in with the theme of colour and the environment but this time I was to do it in a bath environment. I used similar makeup on the models faces, and got them to wear similar clothes. This time they were in different positions, and were not photographed together. I think that this was effective because it allows you to focus on one idea and the close up photographs that I have taken look much more effective.

I have set up a still life here to show yellow objects, this photoshoot links in very well with the colour and the environment shoot. This is because they are both based around the same colour theme and they involve some of the same objects. This photoshoot also shows that I have taken the idea further when looking at colour and the environment, and I have experimented with taking pictures of objects as well as taking pictures of people. I plan to use these pictures in some way as part of my final piece, I think that they will link in well with the theme that I am studying “relationships- this is because all of the different objects link together because they are all of the same colour, yet at the same time they are very different from eachother as they are completely random objects from eachother.

What have you produced as a final outcome cased on the chosen topic and why? I have produced two A2 frames for my final piece with images that I took in my colour and environment reeshoot. I have manually edited over the photographs aswell as editing them on the compiter. I decided to manually edit over these photos because I thought that it would add something to the piece and it would make it look more interesting and exciting. Also because I think that the objects that I chose to use over the photograph linked in very well with objects and the colour scheme that I chose when I was taking these photos in the first place. My chosen topic that I was looking at throughout this course was relationships- I then went on further to look at this and began to look at the link and relationship that the environment had with different colours. What techniques did you use in the production of your work? I used a variety of different techniques in the production of my work, including; cutting out squares from different fabrics and sticking them ontop of a photograph. Sewing ontop of the photograph, drawing over the photograph, and using different images ontop of that photograph and coming out of the frame.
What ideas did you explore- describe those that were successfull and carried forward and also those that were dropped and why? I explored a variety of different ideas when I began to plan for my final piece, including use different photos and in complete different ways. At first my plan was to use a photograph that I used from the yellow colour and environment shoot and then one photograph from the blue colour and environment shoot. I decided to change my miund on this because I did not think that they looked very well presented next to eachother. I think that it was much more effective to have two photographs that were of the same colour presented next to eachother. I then decided to use two photographs that were in the blue shoot because I thought that this had an even better link with relationships- this is because the colours are the same so you can clearly see a relationship between the two images. How successfully does the work explore the topic? I think that my final piece explores the topic of relationships very well. This is because you can clearly see that in the photographs there are two modelsthis shows that there is a relationship between them.
How could the work be taken further? I have taken the theme further and have begun to look at the relationship between colour and the environment, there is also a relationship between those two things. The objects that I have begun to stick over the top of the photograph have some link with the photograph, so again that shows that there is some sort of relationship between the two. How does the work link to the artists, photographers studied? I think that my work links in well with the artists that I have studied, this is because I have looked at artists such as Tina Barney who uses a variety of different people in her photoshoots. I have taken inspiration from her and have decided to use more than one model in my photographs, I think that this links in really well with the theme of relationships as well as my work linking with the artists that I have studied. How have you interpreted the work/ taken risks with the ideas? I have taken risks with my ideas because I have explored both looking at different artists and looking at ideas on pinterest. I have the combined them together and have taken inspiration from the different parts that I thought looked interesting. I have taken risks with ideas when I have experimnted with different matierals and technoiques being used over the top of the photographs- when practising ideas from my final piece.
What do you understand about the topic chosen that you didn’t know before? I have learnt alot about the theme relationships throughout this course, including that I didnt know there could be a relationship between so many different things. When I started looking at this topic I believed that there could only be a relationship between people, someone that was in a relationship or beteween different family members. But as I have begun to look at the theme in more detail I have learnt that there can be a relationship between people and the environment that they live in, colour and the environment and also different words and people.

I have taken risks with ideas by experimenting with different ideas in my mock up, and using a variety of different manual techniques and a vary of different materials. This was risky because I experimented with what materials looked best and used the ones that I thought would go with the photographs that I chose to use, and would link in best with the theme that I have been studying. I have interpeted work that I have looked at from artists such as Tina Barney because I have used a number of different models in shoots that I have done. In my final piece photographs I decided to use two models in those photos, I did that because I thought that there would be a very good link with relationships and also with colour and the environment. I have interpreted work by Tina Barney by using a number of different models in my photographs, which shows all different types of relationships that they may have. I understand alot more about the topic now then I knew before I started looking at relationships. When I first began looking at this theme I thought that the only relationship there could be was the relationships between different people, and the emotions that they felt towards eachother. But I have now learned that there can be a relationship between almost anything. I found a very good link within my work of colour linking well with the environment-
P

I never thought that you could find a link but that can have a very good relationship. I also didnt think that people could have a relationship with their environment. I began to explore my chosen question and theme which was relationships by looking at pictures for inspiration on pinterest and by looking at different artists work. I think that this helped me alot because it showed me that there wasnt just relationships between people but there can be different types of relationships between many different people and things including the environment. I think that my work could be taken further if I was to explore with even more environments when I was taking my photographs. With my photoshoots I explored with colour and the environment- and did the majority of them in a forest, I decided to do this because I thoight that the colour would stand out well in a dull environment- and it had a good link with the photographs that I was taking. I could take my work even further by looking at different types of relationships that people may have between eachother, this could come under the emotions that they feel towards one another so in photographs they emotions can look completely different. My work links in well with the artists that I have studied because the ones that I have looked at have a really good link with the theme that I am studying -relationships. One photographer that I particulary liked and looked at in more detail was Tina Barney. I found her work interesting too look at because I thik that it had a really good link with relationships and I could interprete her work to link in with photoshoots that I had done. In many of her photographs she has used multiple models and you can tell that there is some sort of relationship between them, I think that my final piece photos link in with that nicely because I have used two models and you can tell that there is a relationship between them because of the way they are either standing next to eachother, or how they are looking at eachother. inspiration from different places as I could look at this work and see how I would be able to interpret it to fit in with my chosen theme, and what I would be able to change so that I would like. At first my understanding of relationships was simple, but my photoshoots got better when I got a more indepth understanding.

A01 The ideas that I developed from my inital research was taking the photoshoots that I did of colour and the environment further and adding more to them. Throughout this course I also experimented with a number of different manual techniques that I thought linked well with the theme. I developed these ideas when I began to plan my final piece because I used some techniques that I had practised when showing manual work. I sustained and developed my investigation by looking at various websites such as pinterest and getting an idea off there of what different relationships there could be. I developed my investigation when I began to look at the theme relationship in more depth, and started to look at the relationship that colour and the environment may have between one another. I sustained my ideas because I kept going with the same theme throughout my photoshoots- but each time I would change something so it was slightly different and better, so it showed that my ideas were developing throughout the course. I researched a number of different artists when looking at the theme relationships including- Roger Ballen, Jim Goldberg, Chris Steele- Perkins, Cecil Beaton, Henri Cartier Bresson, Gillian Wearing, Tina Barney, Ed Ruscha and Steven Pippin. I then decided to research Tina Barney, Ed Rusha and Steven Pippin in more detail and even do some interpretations with some of there work. I researched these artists because I found these artists interesting to look at and thought that there work linked in well with relationships- either having a good link between people, objects or the environment. I researched into these artists by finding work that they had done, and finding out about there life and how they got to the point that they are currently at. I then went onto further looking into there work by seeing how it linked in with the theme of relationships, and how I could interprete it and use it in my own photoshoots. I think the most useful research that I did regarding my artists was seeing how there work could link with the theme that seeing how there work linked in with the theme that I was studying of relationships. This is because once I have found a link between the photograph and relationships I could use their work to get ideas from, and interprete some of their photographs. Studying these artists was important to the development of my own ideas because it gave me an insight into what professional work looked like. Many photographers photographs are based around the theme of relationships, or have some aspects of that theme in them.
By looking at work by these artists and photographers I was able to get an even better understanding of relationships, which helped me out when I was planning my photoshoots and my final piece. The artist that I was most influenced by was Tina Barney, this is because I thought her work was the best at linking with relationships. This is because she used a variety of different models in her work and you could tell by the different emotions on there faces that there were different relationships in each of the photos that she captured.
A02 I experimented with alot of different ideas before I came out with my final piece- including alot of different techniques, and many manual edits. I experimented with sewing over a photograph, putting other objects ontop of that photograph that linked in well with the colour theme and also using a variety of different edits on photoshop. The decisions that I had to make when deciding on what photographs to take and what photoshoots were the best included- having to look at each photoshoot and seeing if there was anything that I would do different next time. Re-shooting a photoshoot if necessary and adding anything that I think would improve it as a whole. I tested out a variety of manual edits and decided to only use the best ones that I thought went well on my final piece. I researched into an artists named ‘Jim Goldberg’ who did a variety of different photoshoots and included writing around his pictures. I think that his work could link to the ideas that I used for my final piece. This is because even though I did not write over my photographs, I drew around the outside of them, and drew other objects ontop of the photograph. My experiments helped me alot when I was deciding on my own ideas, this is because I was able to try something to see if it looked effective and if it worked well- and if it didnt look good then I was able to try it again, or
A04 For my final piece I was hoping to create an image that I had taken in my colour and the environment shoot, and using objects and a variety of techniques over the top of that image to link in with the photographs and with other shoots that I had previously done. I thought that the objects placed over the top of the photograph and the techniques that I could use would add alot to the images, and would make them more interesting to look at. I also thought that using objects over the top of the images would link in well with the yellow and blue still life photographs that I took. I was hoping to create something that linked in very well with the theme of relationships- and to make my work look like there was almost a blue still life going on- ontop of the photograph. I think that my ideas worked effectively and it turned out how I wanted it to. This is because I did all of the manual techniques that I wanted to over the photographs and I think that they all look really effective, and add alot to the photograph that I decided to use. My ideas have evolved overtime as the course has progressed because I have learnt more about the theme of relationships and what it is all about.
My photoshoots have got better because I have begun to explore the theme relaitonships in more detail which has made my photographs alot better. I think that the most important influence over my work has been the ideas that I explored on pinterest. This is because looking at other peoples work, and how they set it out and ideas that they have explored inspired me to take my ideas further. The theme of relationships also had a large influence over my work, this is because this is what all of my photoshoots were based around and everything had to have a good clear link in with relaitonships. I think that my final piece reflects my interests because of the way that I have presented my piece, and the photograph that I decided to choose. The photograph that I chose was based on a colour and the environment shoot- I think that the image I decided on was effective and you are almost drawn it to the models faces and what they are wearing. this reflects my interests because I am interested in the fashion side of photography. I think that it also reflects my interested well because of the link with the environment and people- this is because this is the way that I see the world and how everything, no matter how different they are can have some sort of link and relationship with eachother.
A03 My ideas are relevant to my intentions because I always planned on deciding on two images from my re-shoots and using them in my final piece. However I did change my mind on some things during the process of deciding how I wanted my final piece to look. Originally I planned on using one photograph from my yellow colour and the environment shoot and one blue photograph, but trying that out I did not think it looked as good as it could and thought that two blue photgraphs looked more effective and linked better with the theme of relationships. As my work has developed I can see that there are changes within the photoshoots that I have done, I have done re-shoots and added aspects to my shoots that I thought could be better. I have reflected on it by seeing what I thought I did well and what ideas I could take forward, and then on certain aspects I could see what I think needs improving and how I could do better- then using these ideas on my final piece. I selected my chosen idea by first deciding on what photographs I thought were the strongest ones that I had taken, and how I thought I could use them in my final outcome. I then looked at a variety of different ideas on pinterest to see how I could present my final piece and how I would be able to set it out.
I experimented with a variety of different ideas that I saw on pinterest, and decided to use the one which I thought was the best for my final piece. My ideas evolved as I began to look at more and more ideas, and as I got a better understanding of the theme of relationships. At the start of the course I knew little about it, but as it went on I learnt that there are many different types of relationships everywhere.
