NEUBEGINN AN DER AHR BUILDING BRIDG -

ES A NEW BEGINNING ON THE AHR

Im Juli 2021 zerstörte das Hochwasser den kleinen Heimersheimer Bahnhof, die Gleisanlagen und die Brücke über die Ahr. Mit einem in die Zukunft gedachten neuen Projekt möchten wir als Architekt:innen und Ingenieur:innen eine Wiederaufbauperspektive leisten. In der Synthese aus Gebäude, Verkehrsstation und Brücke wird ein innovativer „Hub“ entworfen, der auf regionale Identität und überregionale Strahlkraft zielt. Das Projekt verbindet konzeptionelles Experiment, Entwicklung eines innovativen Typus sowie die praxisorientierte Planung im Team. In interdisziplinären Gruppen arbeiten wir mit Studierenden des Fachbereichs Bauingenieurwesen zusammen, um die Tragwerks-, Bauablaufs- und Verkehrsplanung sowie die Datenanalyse realistisch, modellbasiert und projektbegleitend zusammen zu entwickeln. “Brückenschlag” steht daher metaphorisch für die interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit der Planungsdisziplinen, die Kombination aus Gebäude und Brücke und eine zukunftsweisende Aufbauperspektive für die Region.

In July 2021, the flood destroyed the small Heimersheim train station, the tracks and the bridge over the Ahr. With a new project conceived for the future, we as architects and engineers would like to provide a reconstruction perspective. In the synthesis of a building, a traffic station and a bridge, an innovative „hub“ is designed, which aims at regional identity and supra-regional charisma. The project combines conceptual experiment, development of an innovative type as well as practice-oriented planning in a team. In interdisciplinary groups, we work together with students from the Department of Civil Engineering to develop the structural, construction sequence and traffic planning as well as the data analysis in a realistic, model-based and project-accompanying way. „Bridge building“ therefore stands metaphorically for the interdisciplinary cooperation of the planning disciplines, the combination of building and bridge, and a forward-looking construction perspective for the region.
