Welcome back and happy 2023! A new year always brings new opportunities. We have so many wonderful events headed your way, and we want to invite you to become a part of something new and special this year.
We welcome and encourage you to become a founding member of our Luminary Circle. Our new TPAC membership program brings together likeminded arts lovers for exclusive events, pre-show perks and peeks behind the curtain. Membership tiers also include benefits such as an express lane to the bar, special parking, and access to LaFortune Studio — our newest members-only lounge, coming in 2023.
The mission of the Luminary Circle is to support TPAC programs designed to provide arts experiences to those in our community who might not otherwise have access. We have eight community engagement programs that serve all ages in northeastern Oklahoma. We do everything from bringing every kindergartner in Tulsa Public Schools to see a free live theatrical performance to producing a “senior” musical through Life Senior Services at Eastside. We host classes and workshops throughout Tulsa, taking the arts outside of our building, while also bringing in youth of all ages to experience world class education and performances.
These programs truly make a difference in Tulsa, but we need your help to fund these efforts. This is your opportunity to help us produce those initiatives so that we can continue to reach even more folks through the arts.
May the new year bring you joy, happiness and many special experiences here at the TPAC. We’ll see you again soon for the next show and hopefully for a pre-show drink in the exclusive LaFortune Studio! Thank you for your support and for being such an important part of the TPAC.

Most everyone knows the story of Jesus and Judah. But for 50 years, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Jesus Christ Superstar” has told the story through rock music, giving it a modern twist.
Oklahoma native Elvie Ellis plays the part of Judas in the current North American Tour, set to arrive in Tulsa this month.
Ellis grew up in Oklahoma City, majored in vocal music education at the University of Oklahoma, and didn’t spend a lot of time thinking he could work as a musical theatre performer. He was prepared to spend a life in tech, behind the scenes, or teaching.
On a whim, he attended an audition while in graduate school, booked the job and has been performing ever since. Judas has been a dream role of his since his sophomore year of college, as he found himself in awe of the incredible performers who have filled the role before him.

As a believer in the Bible himself, he still finds he identifies with Judas in many ways, though he knows that sounds strange. But Judas in this show is far more layered and has far more depth than just the betrayer he is often portrayed as.
Ellis hopes audiences attend the show and find themselves thinking of this story in shades of gray instead of black and white. “It makes you think about where you might be in this story and if you would make the same decisions,” he says.
The show moves quickly and doesn’t include an intermission. Ellis’ hope is that audiences attend with open minds and hearts to share this incredible story together, taking a fresh look at a well-known story and the characters who drive it.
Come support Ellis and the rest of this amazing, dedicated cast when they join us in the Chapman Music Hall.

“It makes you think about where you might be in this story and if you would make the same decisions.”
Jean Chatzky
Founder & CEO of HerMoney
The financial investment world can be extremely stressful and overwhelming to those not well versed in the jargon and language used. Enter journalism student Jean Chatzky.
“I spent college at my school newspaper, so being an English major made all the sense in the world to me,” Chatzky shares. When she got out of school, she got a job at Working Woman magazine, which included articles that were a mix of career, business, food and fashion.
“I worked for the business editor and really liked it,” Chatzky says and continues, “I liked writing about companies and careers and investing and all of those sorts of things.”
She liked it so much that when she left the magazine, she pursued that side of business journalism.
This new passion took her to Wall Street, where she earned the chops to be a business journalist. Afterward, she began covering the world of money from a very personal perspective, which is what she still does in a wide array of mediums.
Chatzky has now founded and is the CEO of HerMoney, which originally started as a podcast. “We very quickly discovered that our listeners wanted more,” says Chatzky. “They wanted a community, they wanted more resources, they were hungry for additional information.”
20 INTERMISSION JAN 2023
“There have been roadblocks set up around the financial industry that make it seem more daunting and more complicated than it is.”
Now, the company provides coaching, newsletters, constant online content, a Facebook group, and many other mediums that create a community for women and others who might need help managing their finances.
“It shouldn’t be as complicated as it is. ... There have been roadblocks set up around the financial industry that make it seem more daunting and more complicated than it is.”
HerMoney is a judgment free zone where money and investment are put into simple terms for those not a part of the financial world. Chatzky brings her incredible knowledge and skill at putting complex systems into simple terms when she join us in the Chapman Music Hall this month.
