“Step Up to the Plate!” and help fight hunger in Oklahoma during the eighth annual Tulsa Restaurant Week, Sept. 6-14.

You’ll have nine days, including two weekends, to experience Tulsa’s best restaurants at a great price. 35+ participating restaurants will feature special three-course, prix fixe menus to please your every craving. Ten percent of all prix fixe menu sales will be donated to the Food Bank’s Food for Kids program and matched by the George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF) up to $25,000.

History of Event

In 2007, Tulsa restaurateur Tim Baker teamed up with TulsaPeople Magazine to find a way for local restaurants to help fight hunger in Oklahoma. Since then, more than 100 restaurants have participated in Restaurant Week and raised more than $260,000 for the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. GKFF has provided matching funds for every dollar raised since the onset of the event.

Mission

All 2014 Restaurant Week proceeds will benefit the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, which is one of the largest private, non-profit hunger relief organizations in the state. Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Food Bank distributes donated food and other grocery items to 450 Partner Programs in 24 counties in eastern Oklahoma. The proceeds from Restaurant Week will be used to support the Food for Kids program, which includes the Backpack Program, Free Family Farmers’ Markets and extended school holiday feeding.

2014 Program

Restaurant Week encompasses two full weekends from Saturday, Sept.6 to Sunday, Sept.14! Three tiers of prix fixe dinner options along with lunch or brunch options provide numerous dining choices to suit any taste or budget! Participating restaurants will offer a $12.95 per person lunch and/or brunch menu, and either a $25 per person, $35 per person or $35 for two dinner menu (excluding tax, gratuity and beverage).

Celebrity Night is September 9. Visit TulsaPeople.com or the Tulsa Restaurant Week Facebook page for restaurant locations where Tulsa celebrities will be pitching in to benefit the Food for Kids Program.

General Information

The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma was founded in 1981 as the Tulsa Community Food Bank. The Food Bank is a private, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization that works to feed the hungry of eastern Oklahoma and engages the communities in ending hunger.

Who we serve

We serve 450 Partner Programs in 24 counties in eastern Oklahoma. These programs include emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, after-school programs and senior citizen centers. Together with our Partner Programs, we distribute more than 335,000 meals a week to those struggling with hunger in eastern Oklahoma.

How to get involved

Volunteer Volunteers are vital to our mission of ending hunger in eastern Oklahoma. We could not do the work we do without the hundreds of volunteers who generously donate their time and effort to our cause. Just an hour or two of your time once a week, once a month or once a year can make a big difference. Donate Now Your generosity translates quickly into meals for those struggling with hunger. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank can provide four meals to the hungry in eastern Oklahoma. Because of our sound stewardship, more than 96 cents of every dollar spent goes directly to fighting hunger and feeding hope!
