The question on everyone’s lips is whether the University of Sheffield will retain the varsity cup for the fifth series in a row – a feat that would mark a first in the competition’s history. Sheffield’s sports officer, Emily Roche, said: ‘The run-up to varsity is always one of the most exciting times of the year, but this year the pressure is really on for the first ever five consecutive wins.’ However, they won’t go unchallenged by the Sheffield Hallam side.
