Work on board a tall ship has hardly changed over the last 500 years. The stresses and strains of everyday life disappear in an instant once the crew scales the masts to hoist the sails by hand in a fascinating spectacle. The casual, informal atmosphere on board our ships is all the more enjoyable under the Caribbean sun. Our crew of around 60 are there to ensure that all of our guests on board (a maximum of 94 travellers from all over the world) enjoy a unique cruise experience that is tailored to their needs. SEA CLOUD
Sea Cloud The legend beneath white sails A self-assured grande dame, a stylish yet informal sailing icon and a generous host – the Sea Cloud is a living legend. In 1931 the American millionaire couple Marjorie Merriweather Post and Edward Hutton commissioned the four-masted barque and set about transforming the luxury private yacht into a stage for their eccentric lifestyle. With carefully restored original cabins, golden taps and magnificent marble fireplaces, the Sea Cloud exudes a timeless elegance, combining extravagance with a friendly charm and the thrill of an authentic windjammer experience.

S Special offer A voyage across the Atlantic – feel the infinite expanse of the sea and embrace the romance of a real-life tall ship: Las Palmas – Curaçao An authentic sailing experience
SAILING
Crossing the Atlantic on a traditional tall ship is an experience that leaves a lasting impression. For 17 days your exact course is determined only by the elements. When the crew sets the sails at dizzying heights, the wind is caught in the sailcloth and the ropes creak as they are stretched tight, you will experience a tangible sense of freedom. Following in Columbus’ footsteps
SAILING
SAILING
What would have been going through Columbus’ mind as he set sail in 1492? It is virtually impossible to sail across the Atlantic in the discoverer’s footsteps without constantly considering his thoughts and ideas. Columbus had not yet discovered the trade winds which provide ideal sailing conditions in the westerly direction during the winter months, but nowadays we know that they will provide the SEA CLOUD with idyllic sailing on its way to the Caribbean. Relax and enjoy
SAILING
Great adventures do not always mean great effort. For 17 days we sail a westwards course across the Atlantic, always heading towards a magnificent sunset. It will not be long before you sit back and relax; surrounded by vast horizons and looked after by an attentive crew, you will leave your every-day stress behind in no time at all. Also on board: circumnavigator Burghard Pieske
SAILING
Burghard Pieske may have studied geography and education, but he is also a qualified ship’s captain. Since spending ten years sailing around the world, his main focus has been recreating real-life historic sailing adventures. He is an author, adventurer and freelancer for “Yacht” magazine.

S Special offer Pastel-coloured colonial cities, the metropolis Panama City, and sailing with the trade winds: Curaçao – San José (Puerto Limón) Idyllic sailing along the trade winds
In winter and spring the Caribbean trade winds provide ideal speeds and perfect stability while delivering extremely pleasant air and water temperatures. The many hours out at sea will turn into a real joy for the tall ship, and a delight for those looking to enjoy freedom beneath the sails. All this in stunning waters. Visit two of the ABC islands: Aruba and Curaçao
Aruba and Curaçao make up the A and C of the ABC islands and belong to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Their distinctive features – including Delft tiles, Dutch gable houses, palms and the pastel colours of the Caribbean – make this an enchanting destination. Curaçao boasts a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the shape of its small capital Willemstad. Panama City and the Panama Canal
When the Panama Canal opened in 1914 after more than 30 years of construction, this shortened the route for ships sailing between New York and Los Angeles by almost 15,000 kilometres (9,320 miles). Panama City has experienced enormous growth ever since. The contrast between its ultra-modern banking centre and lovingly restored historic quarters is what makes this city Central America’s style capital. A lecturer accompanies the trip

SEA CLOUD – WINTER
Caribbean Sea
Visit six Latin American countries – experience Belize’s coral reefs, Mexico’s ancient Maya sites and fiery Cuban rhythms. Several relaxing days at sea
Besides crossing worlds, discovering new lands, and enjoying both the excitement of the shore and relaxing hours at sea, for five whole days we let rest and relaxation take a front seat on our yacht. Plenty of time to enjoy life under the white sails and for pure indulgence. The world’s second largest coral reef
The Belize Barrier Reef is a 256-kilometre-long (159 miles) reef system which contains countless small coral islands. The Lighthouse Reef Atoll features a particularly special natural wonder: the Great Blue Hole. This circular sub-marine sinkhole, with a diameter of over 300 metres (0.19 miles), was formed during the last ice age and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Donning your snorkel and getting an underwater view is obviously another great way to discover the impressive beauty of the reef. Maya cities in Mexico and Belize
The sophisticated culture of the Maya in Central America, which began roughly 5,000 years ago and ended around the time of the Spanish conquest, is still a mystery. Their ceremonies seem to have been gory, their step pyramids imposing, and their stone carvings
required a great deal of skill. On our trip you will discover three mystical Maya strongholds: Tulum in Mexico is the only Maya city situated on the coast; Altun Ha and Lamanai are in Belize. Lamanai is situated on the banks of an inland lagoon and remained populated for roughly 3,000 years. Excavations have revealed that over 20,000 people lived there around 700 AD. Trinidad’s old town
Trinidad de Cuba is a small, friendly place with a long history as a centre for sugar cane farming. Experience its charming coastal setting, lovingly restored facades and gentle pace of life in any of the town’s beautiful squares and old, narrow streets. This small town has a welldeserved place on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. Havana‘s Tropicana
Discover the place where Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and Josephine Baker took to the stage and where Edith Piaf, Ernest Hemingway and Marlon Brando applauded wildly in the audience: the legendary Tropicana in Havana. With its colourful shows, this cabaret nightclub is just as magical, vivacious, and thrilling as it was when it opened back in 1939. A lecturer accompanies the trip

SEA CLOUD – WINTER
Havana Isla de la Cienfuegos Juventud
Picture-perfect beaches, breathtaking colonial architecture, lively salsa rhythms, and an endless sea. Havana – exuding history and energy
The spirited music of Cuba
The capital of Cuba offers a bright and colourful cocktail of colonial history, revolutionary heritage and a timeless joie de vivre. You can really feel the authenticity of this city’s charm in old Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a district defined by imposing fortresses and exuberant shopping streets, baroque churches and monasteries, palaces and wide squares, not to mention the American vintage cars that cruise through the streets. An evening walk along the Malécon seafront promenade is a particular highlight for anyone who wants to experience the real Havana: This is where the locals go when the sun sets – to play chess, make music, go fishing, or simply enjoy a glass or two of rum as they look out at the glistening bay.
If Cuba is the birthplace of almost every Latin dance style, then Santiago de Cuba is the stage on which they are performed. Nowhere else will you find so much live music or dancing. In the town’s clubs, bars and dance schools, the rhythms of salsa, son and rumba are omnipresent and just as thrilling as in the world-famous Buena Vista Social Club. A band will also be performing on board.
Cuban beach heaven
Today’s tourists casually unfurl their towels right where the notorious pirates of the Caribbean once buried their treasures. The tiny islands off the coast of Cuba truly are picture-perfect Caribbean paradises. On the Isla de la Juventud and Cayo Largo, you can stroll across beaches of soft white coral sand and wade into the pleasantly warm ocean, or go snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters to see how many colourful sea creatures you can spot. Trinidad’s old town
Trinidad de Cuba is a small, friendly place with a long history as a centre for sugar cane farming. Its charming coastal setting, lovingly restored facades and gentle pace of life can be experienced in any of the town’s beautiful squares and in the narrow, historic alleyways. This small town has a well-deserved place on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.

Plenty of time for sailing
It is often said that the journey is the destination, but you are in for a real treat when you come to the Caribbean as both the relaxed time we spend at sea and the picturesque bays and ports the Sea Cloud calls at are equally wonderful. Our windjammer will be making its way through the Caribbean Sea for four whole days on this cruise, gliding through a kaleidoscope of blues between Cuba, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic and giving you plenty of time to enjoy a genuine sailing experience. Port Antonio – natural beauty in Jamaica
Known for its reggae, Rastafarians and rum, Jamaica has many magical and serene natural settings to offer alongside its rousing rhythms. Port Antonio in the North East is the spot on the island with the most beautiful scenery. With its perfect beaches, lush tropical vegetation and countless caves, rivers and waterfalls, the area surrounding this small colonial town has been a celebrity hotspot since the 1940s, attracting famous visitors like Errol Flynn and providing the exotic backdrop for a number of films. A lecturer accompanies the trip
Knowledge, entertainment and facts – our expert is on hand to give talks on a wide variety of specialist subjects. He will also be on board to answer any questions that you may have.

Marvel at natural beauty spots, live the good life and call at hidden pirate bays: Santo Domingo – Antigua The magical Maravillas caves
The Spanish name for this natural structure – Cuevas de Maravillas – means “Cave of Wonders”, and for good reason: Visitors to this incredible underground world cannot help but be amazed. With stunning lighting and echoes of cathedral architecture, the ceilings are lined with huge stalactites, while stalagmites protrude from the ground like Gothic pinnacles, and pre-Columbian Taino Indian ritual murals adorn the walls. The British Virgin Islands – a beautiful sailing destination
The British Virgin Islands, with their white-sand beaches, coral reefs and friendly beach bars, are made up of 60 islands and reefs. When cruising along the Sir Francis Drake Channel, the Sea Cloud calls at two of its stunning natural beauty spots. The tiny islands dotted in the water and warm, gentle breezes make this waterway – named after the famous seafarer – a veritable paradise for sailors.

“The Baths” – imposing granite formations
It is sometimes easy to think that this is one of nature’s fairy tales: Once upon a time, there was a giant who played with large stone marbles. Where windjammers are in their element, the jet set relax on the beach and colonial charm meets Mother Nature: Antigua – Antigua St Barts – the St Tropez of the Caribbean
St Barthélemy, affectionately known as St Barts, offers a small yet luxurious taste of France at the heart of the Caribbean. With its elegant marina, sophisticated designer boutiques and stunning beaches, the island and its capital city Gustavia traditionally attract the rich and famous. There are plenty of excellent cafés and restaurants that are ideal spots for whiling away a relaxed afternoon. St Kitts – a piece of history
“No need to hurry” is truly the motto of St Kitts! The island is not very quick to make changes: Where you might have expected grandiose hotel palaces, you will instead find the lovingly restored villas from the former French and British colonial rulers. And the fortress still sits atop Brimstone Hill surrounded by cannon defences as it did 300 years ago. Equally breathtaking is the unspoiled view it offers over the lush green volcanoes and the neighbouring islands of St Eustatius and Nevis.

The many treasures of the Grenadines – majestic volcanoes, colourful reefs and the scent of nutmeg and vanilla: Barbados – Barbados Grenada – the island of spice
Although Grenada has been blessed with around 45 picture-perfect beaches, the country’s real treasure remains its lush, green island interior. Deep volcanic lakes, dense rainforests, waterfalls and small river courses form the primordial backdrop of the island’s sugar cane fields and spice plantations. It is the reason why the scent of cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg hangs in the air wherever you go on Grenada. Snorkellers’ paradise in the Tobago Cays
For many, life under water is a fascinating world – one that becomes even more magical the closer you get. The Tobago Cays’ Horseshoe Reef is such a place. This horseshoe-shaped coral reef encloses four small islands that glow in rich shades of green. The sea, in contrast, embraces turquoise, emerald and every shade of blue. The magnificent Pitons of St Lucia
Gros and Petit Piton, the two famous volcanic plugs that tower over St Lucia, could have come straight out of a tropical storybook. They are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offer a spectacular panorama as the Sea Cloud sails closely alongside their slopes. A day at the beach on the popular sailors’ island of Bequia
The Sea Cloud drops anchor in Admiralty Bay at Port Elizabeth on Bequia. It is the meeting place for roundthe-world sailors and private luxury yachts. The jet set island of St Barts
Although many like to call it “St Barts” for short, the island’s official name is St Barthélemy. Having seen numerous owners, the isle was finally bought by France in 1877 and is now firmly in the hands of the jet set. When banker David Rockefeller first bought property here in 1957, the island’s future was sealed. Elegant Gustavia entices with classy goods and glamour hidden away behind restored facades, and the harbour hosts luxury yachts of famous owners.

SEA CLOUD II – WINTER
Atlantic Ocean
Experience ten island treasures in 14 days and treat yourself to some winter sun. French style on the ÎIes des Saintes
The ÎIes des Saintes give such a welcoming first impression, though the historical Fort Napoléon that towers over the main island is a reminder of less peaceful times. The little town on Terre-de-Haut is perfect for taking a stroll, and the savoir-vivre of life here unfolds against a backdrop of the glowing pastel colours of the Caribbean. The jet set island of St Barts
When the banker David Rockefeller came to this island in the 1960s, he realised one thing: that this is a great place to live. Since then, the small Antilles island of St Barthélemy has welcomed an increasing number of celebrity guests and evolved into a getaway for the rich and famous. Many Hollywood stars love to come here for a holiday retreat and enjoy taking a stroll along the quaint streets of Gustavia. Sailing along the trade winds
“Trade winds” is the name given to the powerful currents of air that great seafaring nations used to rely upon to carry their fleets across the Atlantic. Today they are one of the reasons why the Lesser Antilles have become a paradise for sailing enthusiasts. The warm trade winds that blow around the Leeward Islands mean sailors constantly have the wind in their sails.
The natural beauty spots of St Lucia and Dominica
The pitons of St Lucia are world famous and magnificently beautiful. But perhaps even more beautiful is the unique view you will have of this stunning natural masterpiece from the Sea Cloud ii’S anchorage. Dominica is one of the wildest and most primal of the Lesser Antilles. The heart of the island is covered in thick virgin forest, where you will find plunging rivers and small creeks winding their way through the jungle. Tobago: an island paradise
The small fishing village of Charlotteville is situated in Tobago’s idyllic Man-O-War Bay and can only be reached by land via a steep road which cuts through the rainforest. With the yacht anchored in the town’s picturesque bay, you will have plenty of time to discover the island or to plunge into the emerald-green waters. A delight for all the senses: Grenada, the island of spice
There is a reason why nutmeg is immortalised on this country’s national flag. Since colonial times nutmeg – along with cloves, cinnamon and ginger – has been one of the island’s most important exports. If the aromatic fragrance of the tropics were to have a name, it would have to be “Grenada”. Bequia and the Tobago Cays – popular sailors’ haunts
In the small town of Port Elizabeth on Bequia you will find sailors meeting for a catch up on the local beach or outside the town’s small bars. The small archipelago of the Tobago Cays offers protected anchorages in its lagoons. Beach heaven awaits you there.

SEA CLOUD II – WINTER
Caribbean Sea
Islands born from the flames, a sea made for tall ships, relaxing beaches and a touch of colonial history. Stunning islands: St Lucia and Dominica
Although St Lucia is not considered a saint by everyone, the island is certainly the true queen of this idyllic realm. Even from a distance, its twin volcanic peaks, the Pitons, proffer a regal greeting to the approaching Sea Cloud ii. And once we have docked, the island welcomes us with its lush tropical scenery. Dominica, unofficially dubbed “Nature Island”, is proud of its unspoilt scenery. One of its national parks is even a UNESCO World Heritage Site. St Barts – an island with style
Columbus came in 1493 followed by French colonialists, Caribbean buccaneers, Swedish slave traders and, finally, the Rockefellers. Today St Barts sells itself as an elegant island with a strong emphasis on sophisticated indulgence – whether you are in one of its many exquisite restaurants, strolling along the yacht harbour or sun-bathing on its fine-sandy beaches. “The Baths” – imposing granite formations
It is sometimes easy to think that this is one of nature’s fairy tales: Once upon a time, there was a giant who played with large stone marbles. His favourite playground was in Virgin Gorda, a place now called “The Baths” – a gigantic rock labyrinth made out of circularshaped granite.

Itinerary subject to change! * These excursions are not included in the cruise-only rate.

Gros and Petit Piton, the two famous volcanic plugs that tower over St Lucia, could have come straight out of a tropical storybook. They are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offer a spectacular panorama as the SEA CLOUD II sails closely alongside their slopes. A day at the beach on the popular sailors’ island of Bequia
The SEA CLOUD II drops anchor in Admiralty Bay at Port Elizabeth on Bequia. It is the meeting place for roundthe-world sailors and private luxury yachts. Our zodiacs bring you to the town or to one of the island’s most beautiful beaches. You will have plenty of time for whatever you choose, be it swimming, snorkelling or taking a stroll.

Sailing with the warm summer trade winds, aromatic spices and Dutch island charm: Barbados – Curaçao Snorkellers’ paradise in the Tobago Cays
A unique feature of the Tobago Cays is their unspoilt coral reef, known as the “Horseshoe Reef” due to its shape. It keeps the Atlantic swells at bay and is the perfect place for snorkelling. Once back on dry land, you will be treated to a beach barbecue with culinary specialities. Idyllic sailing along the trade winds
In winter and spring the Caribbean trade winds provide ideal speeds and perfect stability, while delivering extremely pleasant air and water temperatures. The many hours out at sea will turn into a real joy for the tall ship, and a delight for those looking to enjoy freedom beneath the sails. All this in stunning waters. The natural beauty of Bonaire
Bonaire is a true paradise for nature lovers. While the breathtaking view on land features craggy coastlines, extraordinary cactus deserts, winding mangrove forests, shocking pink flamingoes and gorgeous beaches, underwater quite another magical world unfolds. This Dutch island’s brightly coloured coral reefs are amongst the best snorkelling sites in the world.

SEA CLOUD II – WINTER
Dominican Republic
A journey to uncover nature’s paradise, dazzling coral reefs, mystical Maya ruins and rousing rhythms right at the heart of Central America. Costa Rica’s national parks – a green paradise
As more than a quarter of Costa Rica’s land is protected in the form of nature reserves, it provides a safe home for a truly unbelievable variety of flora and fauna. There seems to be no end to the natural highlights that await you in this peaceful little country, which has had no armed forces since 1948. The numerous national parks boast majestic volcanic craters and mysterious cloud forests alongside picturesque beaches and evergreen rainforests. The Tortuguero National Park, for example, can only be reached by sea or air because its landscape of canals and lagoons is so impenetrable. Several relaxing days at sea
Besides crossing worlds and discovering new lands, we let relaxation take a front seat on our yacht for four whole days. Plenty of time to enjoy life under the white sails and to be spoilt in every way.
The world’s second largest coral reef
The Belize Barrier Reef is a 256-kilometre-long (159 miles) reef system which contains countless small coral islands. The Lighthouse Reef Atoll features a particularly special natural wonder: the Great Blue Hole. This circular submarine sinkhole, with a diameter of over 300 metres (0.19 miles), was formed during the last ice age and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Their ceremonies seem to have been gory, their step pyramids imposing, and their stone carvings required a great deal of skill. On our trip you will discover three mystical Maya strongholds: Tulum, in Mexico, is the only Maya city situated on the coast; Altun Ha and Lamanai are in Belize. Lamanai is situated on the banks of an inland lagoon and remained populated for roughly 3,000 years. Excavations have revealed that over 20,000 people lived there around 700 AD. A lecturer accompanies the trip
Knowledge, entertainment and facts – our expert is on hand to give talks on a wide variety of specialist subjects. He will also be on board to answer any questions that you may have.

Lively music, picture-perfect beaches and narrow city streets with colonial charm: Cienfuegos – Santo Domingo Trinidad’s old town
The spirited music of Cuba

The Lesser Antilles and the British Virgin Islands – from hidden pirate bays to a famous jet set island: Santo Domingo – Antigua The magical Maravillas caves
Strolling through the legendary Maravillas caves, you would be forgiven for thinking you had entered a unique and magical world 35 metres underground. Huge, shimmering stalagmites and stalactites stretch out into the dimly lit caves, an underground river rushes past, and mystical Taino Indian paintings on the walls captivate with their expressive power, as they have done for thousands of years. The British Virgin Islands – one of the top sailing destinations in the world
When Columbus discovered these islands back in 1493, he named them after the 11,000 virgins of Saint Ursula as he was so taken by their pure and untouched beauty. There are more than 60 different islands in this archipelago, each with its own distinct character. Virgin Gorda for example attracts with its extraordinary granite rock formation known as “The Baths”, which is full of small grottos and seawater pools, whilst sailors flock to the pirate island of Jost van Dyke to meet for a chat in one of the many beach bars. St Barts – an exquisite refuge
If you take the stylish charm of the Côte d’Azur, add a touch of laid-back American attitude and top this off with a stunning Caribbean backdrop, what you get is the luxurious destination of St Barts. This elegant island offers a distinctly sophisticated lifestyle, attracting jet setters from around the world to come and experience its fine restaurants, haute couture boutiques, impressive yachts and picture-perfect beaches.
