GCO SYMPOSIUM 2016 MAGAZINE 1

STATE OF THE NATION GCO came together for the first time as the new GCO, 170 or so people strong. A bunch came from Ballerup on the train, the rest flew in from abroad. Paul welcomed everybody and reiterated that the organisational focus of GCO is to remain agile, curious and capable of excelling. And that this is the starting point

for the organisational journey that we are on, most recently evolving GCO with hubs and satellites. He furthermore stated that our journey in GCO is equally about the LEO Touch and creating the GCO Can Do-attitude. That we get the job done!

GCO MARKETPLACE

One of the major targets of the symposium was to get to know one another. The better we know each other, the better we are at working together – which of course is important; and even more so as we are scattered around the globe. Learning the ropes of

GCO is also part of this – which was the reasoning behind the GCO Marketplace where different areas of GCO has the pleasure of presenting their necks of the GCO wood.

HANDBOOK WORKSHOPS The GCO Handbook is really all about making it easy to navigate when you’re inside GCO. We live in a complex world and we work in a complex industry, and even if we are trying to make things as easy and

straightforward as possible, they aren’t always so. Our handbook is GCO’s answer to Huey, Dewey and Louie’s Junior Woodchucks’ Guidebook – it shows the way around GCO and how we approach things.

LIGHT DINNER Most people can’t go without eating and drinking; neither can GCO.

5

R&D UPDATE AND OPEN MIKE SESSION Kim and Paul took the stage and also the many questions from the GCO crowd. The onsite queries into the left, right and centre of GCO and R&D left no time to

all the questions that had been sent in before the symposium. These were answered and sent out later. Nice atmosphere throughout the evening.

6

REFRESHMENTS Nothing beats a cool fizzy drink or beer – or two – after hours.

7

MORNING RUNS Rise and shine with Anders and Kim. Aalborg showed itself from a beautiful side to those brave and bold enough to do the morning runs. Good start to the day!

8

Q-PACE, IGRAFX GAME & ETMF work easier, simpler and much more effective. Much more to follow on Q-PACE in the time to come – most definitely coming to a screen near you!

The morning was dedicated to a mix of plenum sessions and workshops on Q-PACE and the way we are transforming our way of working in GCO to make

TEAM BUILDING See the pictures. See the movie. https://leo-pharma1.23video.com/secret/ 14709137/94b23ac202ec77b171a8dfa54e3fd6d4 Feel the vibe. What a thrill to be part of this amazing event. Taking the lead from last year’s symposium’s epic GCOLT performance of the GCO version of Deep Purple’s Smoke on the Water, the full GCO made both lyrics and music for this year’s version. And came out of the event having done something perhaps even more epic!

FORMAL DINNER & GCO AWARDS

the award winners

Dresses, high heels & black ties everywhere. When GCO parties, well, GCO parties. And during dinner, Paul presented awards to those in GCO that in the past year have made an extraordinary effort. As part of this year’s prize, the awardees were asked to please join the team at NYSKIN.

13

REFRESHMENTS the bar’s opening hours were extended at least three times before last rounds were served. And as they say, nuff’ said; the pictures pretty much speak for themselves.

Following a super nice dinner with ample servings of very nice food and wines, GCO took to the bar where present GCOLT – Paul, Marie, Kristina, Morten, Tord, Lisbet and Dorte (Janelle was back home Down Under) – went behind the taps. It worked fairly well, and

TEAMBUILDING WORKSHOP, GCO CAN DO Marble run! Seriously? Yes, seriously. Building a marble run portraying the GCO of today and the GCO of tomorrow engaged everybody. And a lot of GCO kids will have had their daddies and mommies come home

with a marble run. But super interesting to see the different builds – and how smooth the GCO future can turn out to be when we all put our minds and hands to it.

16

Attitude is everything. And going forward GCO’s attitude is one of Can Do: that we take any and all challenges that come our way. The input from the workshops is being worked into a single suggested formulation of the GCO Can Do. 17

RECAP & ESKILD EBBESEN Few words can describe Eskild’s impact. He just made the day.

18

DEPARTURE Time to go home. Bussing back for those in Ballerup, flying out for those from abroad. May it not be too long before another GCO Symposium.
