Cannot wait to see everyone March 3- 5, 2017 for District Convention!

Divisional Spring Rally was an overall success. I had 4 chapters show up about 25-30 people. We had fun making milkweed seed balls and March of Dimes goodie bags. The seed balls were given to St. Edwards University for a future service project they have planned. CKI members got to feel a tad bit younger playing Ninja and playing on the swing sets. We bonded while eating some giant burritos and delicious tacos for lunch. We celebrated our District Treasurer’s (Imelda Tristan) 42nd birthday. After, the Hill Country Division elected their mascot to be the Honey Badger, and they finalized their Divisional chant. They also elected their new Hill Country LTG, which would be the wonderful Hannah Varghese from the University of Texas. It really was a great time thanks to everyone who showed up.

My rally was a phenomenal success! The growth of the Metropolitan division is mind boggling. Thank you Metro for an amazing year! Let's continue to grow and serve.

The Oklahoma spring rally went great! We had 20 ckiers there and we had a lot of fun bonding in service and fellowship. My favorite part of the rally was at the beginning when we were meeting at new people and doing or ice breaker people

The rally I hope was pretty fun for the ones that went. It was nice because I had a lot of board support this time around. The rally focused more on getting members pumped up for upcoming events and going over election procedures for the upcoming year. Overall, it went smoothly and I can’t wait to see everyone again at DCON.

Updates The mighty Red River division held its rally on January 28th at Midwestern State University. There were about 30 attendees ranging from Kiwanians to Circle K members from UNT, MSU, CU, and TWU. At the beginning of the rally, members interacted with each other through an ice breaker and then proceeded to learn about upcoming district events. The highlight of the rally was the election portion where the new Lt. Governor was elected from Cameron University, Raquan among other endorsements. Not only was our LTG elected, but we also welcomed our new mascot, the Rattlesnake! The rally wrapped up with group pictures and a service project at the University Kiwanis Club of Wichita Falls Pancake Day!

The Panhandle Spring Rally was held on Feb. 19 at West Texas A&M University. All chapters from the division were present, including the newly chartered South Plains College from Levelland, Tx! The event had an abundance of pizza, laughter and good times. The group came together to make dog toys out of old t-shirts to donate to a local animal shelter. Thank you to all who attended!

The Southeast Texas Division had our Spring Rally on February 18 at Sam Houston State University. The division elected Matthew Riley as the 2017-2018 Lieutenant Governor for the division, and endorsed Linda Stevens from Texas A&M University – Galveston for Subregion D Trustee. We had a lot of fun trying to come up with a divisional mascot, and ultimately picked the Sea Otter! After the rally, we had a service project at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum where we helped them with their garden on the grounds. The director of the museum and the groundskeeper also graciously gave us a tour of Sam Houston’s original house and the memorial museum. It was a great time of service and fellowship!
