The truth is that most folks are so caught up with their Tllusions for Tomorrow that they never have the time to enjoy Today. Are you living a l~Lfe of tomorrows? Host :people are. The demand for i_ndi vidual per-

formance and_ the :Lncreasing compt.~-titive spirit of our society has dralfD many into

a lifesty1e of agendas and dull routines while they work to keep pace 1crl th the business vmrld. There is certainly something to be said for planning and organizat:l_on 1 but such rigor in excess can lead a person to believe that he should alHays be do omething every minute of the day. A life.otyle lived by the stroke of the second hand leads to poor health and sti.fles hunan freedom and expressione Robert Louis ~)tevenson regarded this type of lifestyle as a spiritual vaccum: "~:xtreme busyness, v.rhether at school, church, or market, is a symbol of deficient vitality~ It is no g;ood speaking to such folk: they can not be idle 1 their nature is not generour enough en Indeed, many people, keep so busy getting things done that they reach the end of their lives vrithout ever having lived at alL Their own heartbeat becomes so intense that they cannot hear the heartbeat of thei.r neighbor~ His pains, his joys, his needs.

And this is crhere life lived in the future hurts the most. For it is so easy for the senses to become hardened to Hhat is going on around oneself. And suddenly the true spirit if caring becomes a faded reality& T'he ultimate goal of Circle K is not necessarily to just help others in the comnn.mity, but rather through helping others to create in you a sense of i.nstinctive caring Hhid1 you can carry throughout your life and share v.rith others. 8'or it is in spontaneous caring that the heart is at its best. It is easy to lend a he1ping hand at a scheduled time in a scheduled place, but it is a far greater feat to help another in an unplanned mement because your heart is instinctively conditioned to react to the needs of your fe1low man. The greatest gift is the gift of love without expectation of return0 But most people never realize how much love they really have because they never give themselves the chance to share it with others. Lay aside your Illusions for Tomorrow with all of its mechanical routine and give this minute its deserved chanceD Give yourself the opportunity to discover lly is life's magic. If you have the courage to take that step, you Hill never be the sa..'D.e~. ~,
