All houses with swimming pools will now be taxed with an additional municipal tax called the Swim Tax. According to Avril First, mayco member for swimming pools, the tax will take effect on 1 April 2016. “We are doing a thorough audit of all houses with swimming pools, to determine who must be taxed and how much tax they will pay,” she says. The tax will be calculated on the size of your swimming pool and on the amount of water it takes to fill up your pool. The smaller the pool, the less tax you will pay. “Home owners will need to fork out five cents for every litre of water the swimming pool needs to be filled up. It works out to a monthly tax of R2 500 for a swimming pool that takes 50 000 litres. In addition to that, a yearly tax will be charged on the size of the swimming pool. For instance, if your pool is 20 square metres, you will pay an additional R2 000, or R100 per square metre,” First says. According to the press statement, people who come forward and declare they have swimming pools will receive a considerable discount. “We urge residents to help us with this audit. By sending us your address and the size of your pool, we can save a lot of time and money. This saving will be given back to home owners. All home owners who send us their details will receive a 37.5% discount on the monthly tax for six months,” First says. “But we also take into account that home owners might want to try fool us, so if they send us the details of their swimming pool and we investigate and find they lied about the size, we will have no option but to drain the pool and fill it with sand, but we will develop a nice herb garden there, and this is not an April fool’s joke,” she says.

erwyl die storms woed om die kop van die standbeeld van Cecil John Rhodes by die Universiteit van Kaapstad (UK), het inwoners van Cecil Rhodes-straat in Ruyterwacht uiteenlopende gevoelens oor die hele bohaai. Sommige studente aan die UK voer die afgelope klompie weke ’n stryd om die standbeeld verwyder te kry. Die standbeeld moes reeds onder menslike ontlasting deurloop en studente beset ’n gebou op die kampus. Maar Dientjie Borain, wat reeds 20 jaar in die Cecil Rhodes-straat woon, sê sy sien nie waaroor die bohaai gaan nie. “Om die waarheid te sê weet ek nie eens wie die man is nie. Wat het hy nou eintlik gedoen?” wonder sy. Verder af in die straat het David Todd baie sterk gevoelens oor die hele Rhodes-affêre. “Dis politiek, sê ek jou. Kyk net, een van die dae is daai mannetjie wat die hele ding begin het, ’n groot politikus. Wat wil hulle nou eintlik bereik? Moet alle wittes uit die land padgee sodat dit soos Zimbabwe raak?” wonder hy. Hy sê hy is ook bekommerd dat die ding verder kan uitkring. “Een van die dae gaan witmense plakkate op Nelson Mandela se gesig plak en dan gaan dinge lelik raak,” meen Todd, wat al die afgelope 13 jaar in die straat woon. Todd se buurman, Karel Jansen, sê hy weet ook nie wat die ongelukkiges wil bereik

“K

reee-kreee,” exclaimed the first swift tern chick worriedly. After a moment of consideration the second one said: “Kree-kree...” The first looked at the third expectantly. “Kree-kree,” added the third. After a brief discussion, the three came to the conclusion that anything is better than this stifling heat. They took the plunge from the Nelson Mandela Gateway at V&A Waterfront, hoping against hope that their wings could carry their weight. They should have listened to the fourth chick, who despite being a smarty-pants, knew a thing or two about gravity. The chicks plummeted towards the ground in hypnotic patterns, something the mass of on looking swift tern chicks thought might indeed be better than the hot roof. The fourth chick looked on in horror as all of his friends nose-dived into the deck and into the ocean. “Kree-kree,” he said haughtily while bouncing from one foot to the other. The scene transpired on one of the hottest days ever in Cape Town in March. Eighty-seven chicks were saved from certain death by Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) volunteers and the Two Oceans Aquarium. Some are still recovering at SANCCOB’s rehabilitation centre in Table View, while 65 have recently been released from Robben Island. “It was absolutely horrifying,” says volunteer Edna Hime from Sea Point. She and her partner Ted van der Meulen were called to the harbour on the day the temperature soared into the forties.

PHOTO: SUPPLIED What waited for them was the dreadful scene of scores of swift tern chicks wriggling around on the warm deck and some struggling to stay afloat in the ocean. On land a security guard helped them to collect the chicks and put them in boxes and on the water, staff from the Two Oceans Aquarium fished the birds out and a diver also lent a hand to collect as many as possible. Edna said the most appalling sight of the rescue mission was that chicks and younglings continued to plummet from the roof as a last resort to escape the unbearable heat. SANCCOB sent two bakkies to the Waterfront so that the heat-stressed chicks could be rushed to the centre in Table View. The centre’s spokesperson, Francois Louw, elaborated: “The recent rise in temperatures in Cape Town caused most of the

adult birds to temporarily leave the nests in order to escape the heat. “Unfortunately, many of the chicks followed suit without being able to properly fly yet and plummeted to the bottom of the building.” Upon arrival at SANCCOB, the little chicks were immediately stabilised, examined by the veterinarian for possible injuries, treated for heat stress and provided with a unique identification number to individually monitor each chicks’ rehabilitation progress. “During the next couple of weeks, the chicks will receive a balanced nutritional diet of squid and pilchards, a daily dose of vitamins, kept hydrated with electrolyte fluids and provided with fresh water to cool down in,” said Louw, before adding that the handling of the birds would be kept to a minimum to make their stay at SANCCOB as stress-free and comfortable as possible. “Once the birds have passed all SANCCOB’s release criteria, which include waterproofing evaluations and flying tests, they will receive identification rings and will be released at Robben Island where they will be monitored in the future,” he concluded. This week the spokesbird of the swift tern chicks sent a letter to TygerBurger in which he, most possibly, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in the rescue mission. When looking at the emphasis on the second syllable, it is likely that he was one of the birds who jumped off the building that day. There exists some speculation that the bird wanted the public to know that if anyone would like to make a contribution in aid of SANCCOB’s work to care for these beautiful creatures until they are old enough to be released back into the wild, then they can go to www.sanccob.co.za or call 021 557 6155.

Terwyl kinders sukkel om plek in skole te kry, staan daar agttien klaskamers by ’n skool op die grens van Elsiesrivier en Ruyterwacht leeg. ’n Gedeelte van die Hoërskool Valhalla is verlede jaar gevandaliseer en sedertdien het die klasse in onbruik verval. Dit is glo nou ’n uithangplek vir bendes, dwelmsmokkelaars- en gebruikers. Volgens Faizel Adams van die buurtwag is die klaskamers ’n bron van kommer vir hulle. “Ons moet daar patrolleer en het al verskeie dinge daar gesien. Ouens smokkel met dwelms en wanneer misdadigers iets aangevang het, gaan kruip hulle daar weg. Onlangs het ons ’n groep laaities daarin gejaag en hulle het net in die

donkerte verdwyn,” sê Adams. Hy sê as die skool opgeknap word, kan dit die probleem van kinders sonder klaskamers oplos. “Daar was vroeër vanjaar baie stories oor kinders wat nie plek by skole kry nie, maar hier staan klaskamers dolleeg. As dit so voortgaan, sal die gebou verder verval en kan dit later nie meer reggemaak word nie. “Die buurtwag doen ’n beroep op die staat om die skool te help voor dit te laat is,” sê Adams. Met TygerBurger se besoek aan die skool, het rommel oral rondgelê en vensters was stukkend. Sommige klasse se deure is al by die kosyne uitgeruk en groot gedeeltes van die heining was stukkend. ’n Navraag aan Paddy Atwell van die WesKaapse regering oor wat die planne met die klaskamers is, het onbeantwoord gebly.

Solar geyser rebate deadline extended Eskom has extended the cut-off date for solar water heating systems rebates. Since Eskom handed the rebate programme to the department of energy in February, the two entities have agreed to extend rebate claims for high pressure systems, with an installation cut-off date of 30 April this year. Claims have to be submitted by both installers and homeowners no later than 16:00 on 29 May. Installers’ sign-off dates are used to determine the date of installation and Eskom says ho-

meowners are reminded to ensure their respective installer signs and dates claim forms the moment installations are complete. No new solar system supplier or installer registrations are being processed by Eskom. To fund the Solar Water Heater Rebate Programme, which was started in 2008, the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) allocated funds to cover programme development, marketing and funding. Come and see He’s Alive Passion Play Ministries International (PPMI) will present their theatre production, He’s Alive free of charge this April. He’s Alive is a dramatic representation of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ performed by a cast made up of 100 community actors ranging from housewives to accountants from across Cape Town. They will be directed by Bronwyne Scott, a theatre veteran with some 36 years of experience who has directed this production annually since its inception in Cape Town. “This drama touches lives. Get lost in a fairy tale Cape Town City Ballet will entertain children this Easter with the return of Thumbelina to Artscape Theatre on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 April. Based on the enchanting fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, Thumbelina tells the story of the little princess and her journey from being born in an acorn to marrying her handsome fairy prince, Cornelius. True to the original story, the stage will come alive with jitterbugs, ice fairies, lovebirds, mice and chickens, performed by young ballet dancers from across the Cape Peninsula. Audiences can look forward to outstanding characterizations of a very pushy Mrs Toad who tries extremely hard to get Thumbelina to fall in love with her goofy son, as well as a very suave performance by the weal-

Ruyterwacht se mense ken hom al as die ou met die lang hare wat in die wind waai as hy op sy fiets ry, maar die hare is nie ’n modegier nie. Kenneth McDonald is ’n bekende in Ruyterwacht. Mense ken hom veral as die ou met die baie hare wat elke dag met sy fiets in die strate gesien kan word. Min mense weet egter dat die hare nie daar is omdat Kenneth modebewus is nie. Hy dra sy hare lank om hom teen die son te beskerm. “Ek is so agt, nege jaar gelede met velkanker gediagnoseer en het toe die raad ontvang om my hare lank te laat groei. As dit nie vir die kanker was nie, sou ek al lankal die hare afgeskeer het,” sê Kenneth, wat ook sukkel met ’n arm en ’n been. Weens die kanker was hy al baie keer onder die mes. “Hulle het al my neus, my gesig en my rug gesny, maar ek is nog staande. Ek laat nie dat dit my onderkry nie,” sê Kenneth.

Hy vermoed dis sy werk op die see wat die kanker veroorsaak het. “Ek is ’n seeman; was nog my hele lank een en sal een bly. Die been en die arm pla, maar ek kan nog met my kop werk. Elke nou en dan gaan ek nog op ’n skuit uit om te gaan help.” Kenneth se lyf is oortrek van tatoes, maar hy wil nie in diepte daaroor praat nie. “Die is my lewe wat hier op my lyf is. Al wat ek kan sê, is dat dit rof is op die water. Daar is ’n klomp rowwe manne op die see, dis al wat ek gaan sê.” Hy voer sy stryd teen kanker alleen. “Ek is nie ’n ou vir vrinne nie. Vrinne bring jou net in die moeilikheid, want dis die kant toe en daai kant toe. Ek operate maar op my eie, what you see is what you get met my. Dit was maar al die jare so met my – niks vrou, niks laaities nie.” Voor hy op sy fiets klim en wegry, sê Kenneth: “Julle moet nie worry oor die hare nie, dis net ’n masker!”

Changes to airport in offing C

hanges to the airport runways are looming and surrounding communities are invited to comment on the draft impact assessment. SRK Consulting, appointed by Airports Company South Africa (ACSA), has undertaken the Scoping and Environmental Impact Reporting for realignment of the runway. The Draft Environmental Impact Report will be released to the public for an eightweek comment period, which started this week and will end on 25 May. ACSA proposes to re-align the primary runway and construct parallel and rapid exit taxiways. The re-aligned primary runway will be 3 500m in length, allowing larger aircraft, such as the A380, to land.

Scoping report “The Scoping Phase was completed in July 2014 and the Final Scoping Report was accepted by the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) on 30 September 2014,” said Deborah Francis, the airport’s acting communications manager. “This Draft Environmental Impact Report comprehensively describes and assesses the impacts of the proposed re-aligned runway project on various aspects of the environment, through specialist studies. “We encourage interested and affected parties to visit the SRK Consulting website (www.srk.co.za/en/za-cape-town-international-airport-runway-re-alignment-eia) to view the draft report and participate during the public participation comment period,” she continued. Open days She said the public can contact SRK Consulting to find out at which libraries the document is available. There will also be a series of open days for questions and comment on the project. Volgens statistiek is sowat 40% van mense wat in padverwante voorvalle sterf, voetgangers. Wees veral op die uitkyk vir hulle. Daar sal vanjaar weer verskeie padblokkades wees. Verlede jaar is daar duisende boetes en kennisgewings aan oortreders by dié blokkades uitgereik – wat maar net weer wys ons ingesteldheid oor padveiligheid is nog nie na wense. Elke skool móét ’n binnebraai hê Onlangs moes ek en die seuns by elke skool in ons omgewing verbygaan om plakkate teen lamppale op te sit. Ons het nie gratis katjies geadverteer nie, nee, ons het net ’n plaasfees bemark. Terwyl ons by die tweede laerskool doenig is, is dit opvallend hoe hulle, net soos die vorige skool, besig is met indrukwekkende aanbouings. Pawiljoene en klubhuise, nuwe grensmure en hekke. As ek ’n geniepsige oortuiging gehad het, dan sou ek aanvaar dat dit slegs vir die plesier van ’n sekere groepie van die ouers, hul kroos en uitgesoekte leerkragte is. Maar aangesien ek nie van beter weet nie en ook nie ’n feitesending onderneem het nie, kan ek net sê wat ek sien en dink... Ek lees 80 % van Jan en San Publiek bestee deesdae minder geld aan voedsel. Dié statistiek maak nogal sin, want die mense sit die koffiehuise en burgerplekke aand-na-aand só vol, dat hulle nie kruideniersware hoef te koop nie! Nét so ook die jaarlikse styging in skoolgelde. Alles net om te sorg dat boetie of sussie die beste moontlike onderrig en sportafrigting kry. Ongelukkig word daar niks gerep oor boetie of sussie steeds daardie ekstra wiskundeklas teen R100 per les by ’n kenner moet kry nie. Maar billikheidshalwe moet ’n mens die heerlike deel van die begroting ook ter tafel voeg. In ons noordelike stadsgebied, veral dié tussen die fantastiese heuwels van lowergroen tuine, die nuutste gefinansierde vuurwaens en kort- en lang vakansies, is selfs

Is daar dalk ’n besteebare uitweg beraam deur groot te beplan, groot te bestee, groot te bemark en noodgedwonge, die tekort maar net by die OTM (ouers te melk) te gaan haal? Foeitog. Man to aim pellet gun at ‘stray’ cats Glad to see other people are making a noise about these so called pet cats. (sms, TygerBurger, 25 March). Between two neighbours, I have to contend with seven cats. Stray cat issues are not the City councils problem, since they say its a Metro Police / SAPS issue, who in turn say its a problem for enforcement to solve, who eventually pass the buck onto the SPCA, who can’t handle the problem because the capturing of stray cats does not fall into their job description. It is the complainants responsibility to ride all the way out to the SPCA, collect traps, and when the cats are caught, ride all the way back to the SPCA to deliver these pests. The SPCA has a lot on its hand to present a wonderful image of themselves on Dstv - how they help to handle stray dogs, and every other animal except cats. I have invested in a pellet gun which

is far cheaper than wasting petrol on all those trips to an unsafe area where the SPCA is located, to maybe be carjacked or shot at. Neighbours take note: your cat on your side of the fence may be your pet, but in my yard it is a stray, keep your cat in your yard. ANONYMOUS E-mail

ith the World Health Organisation predicting steady growth in the number of cancer patients worldwide, the radiation oncology division at Cape Town’s Tygerberg Hospital has received world-class equipment to enable it to treat patients faster and more effectively. “We’re privileged to have a very progressive and forward-thinking CEO and provincial authorities who see the value of investing in state-of-the-art equipment which enables us to deliver the same quality of care as found in hospitals in Europe and the US,” says Prof Hannah Simonds, head of radiation oncology at Tygerberg, and Associate Professor at Stellenbosch University. “The Tygerberg radiation oncology division currently treats around 2 500 patients a year, with an increase of around 300 yearon-year. As patient cancer awareness improves and the population life expectancy increases due to improved management of other conditions, we expect to see oncology patient numbers increasing. So we have to be prepared,” says Prof Simonds. South African oncology is characterised by a larger number of patients in the advanced stages of cancer, as well as a larger number of patients suffering from other conditions such as HIV and TB than in much of the rest of the world. The radiation oncology division at Stellenbosch University and Tygerberg Hospital is an international leader in cancer treatment with radiation therapy and chemotherapy, and is recognised for its excellence in clinical treatment, education and research. Its treatments include Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Four Dimensional Computed Tomography (4D CT) and Four Dimensional Positron Emmision Tomography-Computerised Tomography (4D PETCT), Linear Accelerators for external beam radiotherapy and radioisotopes in brachytherapy as well as neutrons and protons in collaboration with I-Themba labs to treat those cancers that cannot successfully be treated with photons and electrons. The unit is equipped with four Digital Linear Accelerators and the MOSAIQ oncology information system, all from Swedish firm Elekta, a leading manufacturer of specialist oncology radiotherapy and radiosurgery equipment. The most recent acquisitions, the latest Elekta Synergy Digital Linear Accelerator and the MOSAIQ oncology information system, were installed just over a year ago. As one of only two state units furnished with advanced oncology radiotherapy equipment to serve around four million people in the Western Cape, Tygerberg Hospital’s radiation oncology unit seeks to deliver the most effective treatment possible, using the most effective tools available. “Many under-resourced hospitals in Africa still have to rely on cobalt gamma ray systems, with the associated risk of causing complications. However, our Elekta Digital Linear Accelerators allows us to limit the radiation exposure of normal tissue and so reduce side effects. We also have a very high- tech imaging system for the best quality assurance,” she says. The installation of the new electronic patient data management systems will enhance auditing of the division’s patient numbers, treatment and outcomes. “The end of 2015 will be the end of the first full clinical year using this data management system. It will support outcomes projects looking at factors such as toxicity and survival rates.” Martin Noordman, Service Partner Manager at Elekta South Africa, says the access to world-class advanced Digital Linear Accelerators benefits more than just Tygerberg’s patients. “As part of a renowned academic institution, the division trains health professionals from across the continent. Trapsgewyse tariewe (1-6) is vanaf 1 Julie 2013 vir die huishoudelike groepskategorie ingestel op grond van vorige oorlegpleging met kliënte. Verdere stappe om dié kategorie nog meer in lyn met die volledige huishoudelike kategorie te bring, word nie vir die boekjaar 2015/16 aanbeveel nie. Veranderinge in diverse tariewe, onder meer die voortgesette stygings met betrekking tot behandelde afvalwater (bepaald vir gholfbane) sowel as die metertoetsfooi, word in bylae 4 by die konsepbegrotingsdokument uiteengesit. Staking van hengeltarief by damme in raadsbesit vanaf 1 Julie 2015.

2.2. SANITASIE Drie stelle sanitasietariewe word voorgestel (10%-verminderingstarief, 20%-verminderingstarief en 30%-verminderingstarief). Elke tarief is gekoppel aan die vlak van watervermindering wat opgelê word. Aangesien die 10%-verminderingstarief as norm by die Waterverordening ingesluit word, sal dít die tarief wees wat geld. Enige eiendom wat aan die maatstawwe vir ’n openbare voordeelorganisasie in die gewysigde munisipale eiendomsbelastingregulasies voldoen, dog nie vir die 100%-korting ingevolge die Raad se belastingbeleid in aanmerking kom nie, sal teen 25% van die residensiële koers belas word - R0.001733. 5. SPESIALE AANSLAGGEBIEDE: BYKOMENDE HEFFING Die bykomende heffings vir spesiale aanslaggebiede word teen 14% BTW belas. Die bykomende heffings hier onder word as rand in die rand weergegee.

Residensiële tariewe: Algehele styging in inkomste uit die groep is 10.82%, maar individuele kliënte sal waarskynlik verskillende stygings waarneem op grond van werklike verbruik. Die verskil tussen die gemiddelde en werklike styging spruit uit die verhaling van die tekort aan inkomste uit die hulptarief vir blok 1. Verbruikers wat 450 kWh per maand ontvang, sal dieselfde persentasie styging waarneem, ongeag die tarief wat vir hulle geld. Daar is dus geen verandering in die subsidievlak wat hierdie verbruikers op die hulptarief ontvang nie. Gratis basiese elektrisiteit: Hulptariefkliënte wat minder as 250 kWh per maand ontvang, sal ’n gratis basiese toevoer van 60 kWh kry, terwyl diegene wat tussen 250 kWh en 450 kWh per maand ontvang ’n gratis basiese toevoer van 25 kWh per maand sal kry. Die tarief vir residensiële kleinskaalse gekoppelde opwekking kry ’n tweede blok by in pas met die huishoudelike tariefblok 2 om te voorkom dat verbruikers wat besonder klein opwekkers installeer ’n groot verlaging in hul rekeninge ontvang sonder dat hulle in werklikheid enige elektrisiteit opwek. Die kategorie “Klein kragverbruiker 1” met die buitespits-kombinasie word sedert 1 Julie 2012 tot slegs bestaande kliënte beperk. Die buitespits-komponente styg ook met ’n bogemiddelde bedrag om hierdie tarief uiteindelik uit te faseer. Die tarief vir die kategorie “Klein kragverbruiker 1” ondergaan ’n geringe strukturele aanpassing in pas met die bevindinge van die voorsieningskostestudie. Tydspesifieke tariewe is herstruktureer om pariteit tussen die mediumspanningstarief en Eskom Megaflex te verseker. Kommersiële tariewe ondergaan ’n effens bogemiddelde styging as gevolg van die verhaling van die subsidie wat vir die tydspesifieke tarief vir Atlantis voorsien word.

Ugly duckling to delight kids The Lilliput Children’s Theatre Company bring their new show The ugly duckling and other stories to the Nassau Theatre for the Easter school holiday. The show had sold out runs in Qatar in November and at the Baxter Theatre in March. The ugly duckling and The king’s new clothes are two magical stories by the Danish “weaver of dreams”, Hans Christian Anderson. Filled with colourful characters, this stage adaptation sticks closely to the original fairytales. Both stories have wonderful moral lessons for young theatre-goers to learn. The ugly duckling and other stories is adapted and directed by Elton John Duffy, who has been producing children’s theatre and delighting audiences for 22 years. This show stars Desle McConney (Ronde-

bosch), Monique Rockman (Goodwood), Bronwyn Garlick (Green Point) and Elton John Duffy (Edgemead). Choreography is by Shaun Klaasen. There is loads of audience participation and current popular songs from Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams and Meghan Trainor give the production a modern twist. The play runs for 45 minutes and will be staged from Saturday 4 April until Saturday 11 April at 10:00 at the Nassau Theatre at Groote Schuur High School, in Palmyra Road, Newlands. brecht Bouers-liga vir o.15’s. Brackenfell se eerste span het verlede Vrydag onverwags maklik met Milnerton klaargespeel. Nadat Madin van den Berg (4/19) en sy medeboulers Milnerton vir net 85 lopies uitgehaal het, was dit ’n derdepaaltjie-vennoot-

skap van 62 lopies tussen Philip Kleynhans (30) en Wickus Strydom (28*) wat ’n oorwinning met sewe paaltjies vir die besoekers bewerkstellig het. Ook die o.15-eindstryd het ’n verrassing gelewer toe die gunsteling, Fairmont (92), met 57 lopies deur HS Bellville (149/6) in die

lthough last year was filled with injuries and bad luck for Big Bay resident Anthony Raynard, he nonetheless managed to finish the season in third overall for the SA motocross championship. With a few new changes for 2015, Anthony started the year off fresh and injury free as he heads into the second national for the year at Zone 7 MX Park in Vissershok on 11 April.

Met die eindstryde in die 20/20-kompetisies die afgelope naweek, het UWK behoorlik stem dik gemaak teen die Ottoman-klub in afdeling A van die WP se eerste liga, terwyl die Goodwood-span as die kampioen in die B-afdeling gekroon is ná sy oorwinning oor Milnerton – die einste span wat Noordelikes die vorige naweek van die titel in die tweedaagse kompetisie weerhou het. UWK (196/4) het sy sege oor Ottoman (140/6) grootliks te danke aan ’n aanvangsvennootskap van 115 lopies tussen Ashley Cupido (62) en Sharn Gomes (52), asook die goed gebalanseerde boulaanval van die studentespan. Dit was ook die puik boulwerk van NoordelikesGoodwood wat Milnerton net 86 lopies bymekaar kon laat skraap. Eric Osner (3/15) en Richard Holman (2/6) het die Milnerton-kolwers laat skeeftrap, waarna Noordelikes-Goodwood met 88/5 ’n vyfpaaltjie-sege beklink het.

Anthony has been working hard during the off-season and with great support behind him, the season ahead looks very positive. At the first national, which took place in Harrismith earlier this year, he managed to show that he is back on top of his game with speed and fitness regardless of one or two mistakes in the second motos of each MX1 and MX2 class. Exciting With the pre-national race taking place on 4 April at Zone 7, it is in itself a ‘mini national’ with a few of the top national riders coming down from around the country. This build-up race will show who has been doing their homework. This event will be exciting to watch in its own right and show you what is to be expected at the annual Cape Town national.
