GOAL : To track personal spending habits during the winter 2017 quarter while living and learning at Cal Poly SLO. Weekly drawings illustrate the categories and costs of personal living needs and desires. [note: housing in this case has been previously provided by an outside entity] DENOUEMENT : Two of my favorite foods are bread and ice cream. Interestingly enough, those two food items only constitute 10.8% of my total food costs. Presumably I might proportionally increase purchase and consumption of those two categories by a factor of two, find myself twice the happier, yet still be spending less than a quarter of total food costs on bread and ice cream. Clothing costs are proportionally high due to an upcoming wedding. I was in need of a blazer and sundry articles to appear my finest on this significant date. As an alteration of the overall project, I might conduct this important fiscal research over a longer period of time, such that the heavily weighted clothing purchases might be normalized over said time period.
