This concept splits the camp into three phases on either side of the 50’ access easement. Each camp consist of two three unit groupings with a central fire feature amenity.

UTILIZING THE FORM AND PROPORTIONS OF THE CURRENTLY PLANNED RETAINING WALL FOR WATER RETENTION BUT FLIPPING THE ALIGNMENTS THIS CONCEPT CREATES A PRIVATE “GATED” FEEL FOR THE ENTRY AS THE MASSING OF THE WALLS CARRIES ACROSS THE ENTRY DRIVE.

This design combines the best ideas from the previous two concepts while keeping the curvilinear design theme. This concept has a curvilinear basis with an overall emphasis on blending the architectural form of the residence with the landscape in which it exist. Utilizing native softscape and simplistic hardscape elements this design creates a sequence of spaces that enables ample opportunities to enjoy the outdoor living space of the residence.

DESCRIPTION

Situated along one of the many old mining roads above historic Park City, this residence is tucked into the old town fabric gives this city charm. As a lesson in density, this project has many constraints. First, the building almost completely encompasses the entire parcel. Second, the neighboring residences do the same. Third, there is almost no street parking on the narrow city streets as they winding and congested by mostly construction traffic during the day. Therefore, bringing the inside out was esential in meeting client expectations.

THIS DESIGN SEEKS TO BLEND THE DISTINCTION BETWEEN INDOOR AND OUTDOOR SPACE BY INVITING GUEST INTO A SERIES OF OUTDOOR TERRACES. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED BY LEVELING THE BACKYARD TO ACCOMMODATE A NATIVE MEADOW LAWN & ARTIFICIAL TURF THAT SETS THE STAGE FOR LAWN GAMES. NATURAL ELEMENTS SUCH AS BOULDERS, WOOD, AND STEEL DEFINE SITE AMENITIES WHICH IS INFORMED BY THE EXISTING PALETTE OF THE RESIDENCE. A SPA DECK EXPANDS THE PATIO AT THE EXISTING FINISHED FLOOR ELEVATION. THE SIGNATURE ELEMENT IS THE DROP IN SPA THAT FRAMES PREMIUM VIEWS.
