House/Guided Light Into Private Space
In this project, we have to play two different roles which are designers and clients. My client gave me the title of “guided light into private space�, so my main concept is leading sunlight into interior space and keeping the privacy of indoor spaces at the same time. By designing three different types of houses, we learnt from the building regulations and how to design by following those rules.

Site
The site I chose was in song-shang district. It’s surrounded by 5th-floored-apartments.
When I close my eyes and listen carefully, I can feel the life around me although I did not see it. The small paragraph of D. T. Suzuki ’s book had echo my feelings towards the site.

Concept
Below is living spaces, through the stairs in the middle you can go to the top floor which is a public space. While you eat you should just focus what you’re eating, while you sleep you should focus that you’re sleeping. The compartments of different spaces becomes less important, by using only height difference to express the concept.

1:1 Scale Project/Observing Architecture
In summer 2013 we started our 1:1 scale project. The title was “When doors were not doors,what would they be? When windows were not windows,what would they be? When walls were not walls,what would they be? When floors were not floors,what would they be?� My attempt was to create a door that was not only a door but also apart of the structure and the wall.

OBSERVATION/ When there’s no plenty space to park motorcycle, people start to make they’re own ways. Like making parking spaces on stairs.
Taipei Rules is an investigation of the generic 6 story construction ubiquitous to Taipei. This walk-up typology is governed by loose building codes but gradually altered through individual transformation, renovation and even illegal construction. Taking inspiration from the generic city,we will invent New-Rules, based on observations of existing Non-Rules.
