IMPORTANT INFORMATION Hello friends! Welcome to the first ever issue of the new publications series “Calvin’s Corner”.

One of my goals as publication chair for 201516 is to make information more accessible and fun for everyone. With Calvin’s Corner, I plan to create a more effective way of communication between seasonal newsletters, give voice to those who do not make it into the seasonal newsletters, create a more centralized place for information, and to most importantly help your ucbcki experience be the best that it can be.

What is this issue? This issue is summer themed, just in time for summer’s first general meeting. This issue will detail ways to get involved with Circle K over the summer, no matter your location, as well as featuring other fun summer time articles to help you get through these hotter months.

What will other issues be like? I’m hoping to make these style issues for big events, ucbcki specific tutorials, holiday themed specials, and more! This includes issues centered around FTC, how to navigate through our website, a ucbcki community cookbook, and anything else your heart

desires. It’s all up to you to see where Calvin’s Corner will take us. Just give me feedback (maybe come to a committee meeting) if you want to see something featured.

How are you? Awwwwh I feel so loved <3 First, thank you so much for taking the time to read this! I’m really PUMPED UP for this year and all the things it entails.

So you’re home from the summer, far far away from the land of Berkeley, but you’re not getting your Circle K dose? No fear! Make sure to follow these simple steps when attending non-UCBCKI Circle K clubs :D (Yay for Interclubbing) !!!

Contact the people! It would be really awkward to show up, unannounced, and not know ANYONE! The safest bet is to contact the local LTG and ask them personally about it. They’re more than willing to help another member out :D

Reasons to be attending another Circle K event outside of Golden Gate (our home division) could either be because they are the closest division to your hometown or your family is visiting that area and there just happens to be a Circle K event going on.

There’s lots of fun ways to get involved with Circle K over the summer!

Another fun thing you can sign up for is the CNH CKI Summer Database! The district put together a little form for you to fill out so you can get all the updates from local Circle K clubs! Check it out in the link below!!!

Make sure they’re actually local!! If you’re in San Diego (because it’s the best hometown ever), you’re covered for the county, but don’t try and go to Magic Kingdom stuff because they aren’t local aka you aren’t automatically ERF’d for it and need to do that :(

MEETINGS

Come hang out with UC Berkeley Circle K this summer starting with our summer general meetings! ”Destination Vacation: Travel with UCBCKI”. Each week, we will be “traveling” to a different location. This Tuesday’s meeting will be us starting here in Berkeley before we travel afar together.

This week’s meeting is more informal, but next week’s meeting will be more formal with a Prezi. There’s lots of fun to be had when coming out to any type of Circle K meeting though!

Be sure to check out all the other fun events we will be having over the summer!
