CKI stands for Circle K International and we are the
What is CKI?
largest collegiate student-led service organization in the world. Circle K revolves around three core tenets: service, leadership, and fellowship. Here is a breakdown
of the levels of Circle K to make it easier to understand.
The Golden Gate Division is a group of Circle K clubs located in the eastern part of the Bay Area. Clubs within the Golden Gate Division often collaborate with one another through events like the monthly Divisional Council Meetings (DCM), where clubs gather to give their updates, and the monthly Divisional Service Projects (DSP), where members of the Golden Gate Division work together in a large service event. Schools within the Golden Gate Division are Cal State East Bay, San Francisco State University, Sonoma State University, University of California, Berkeley, University of San Francisco and more! The CNH District of Circle K is a supergroup of nine divisions in the three states of California, Nevada, and Hawaii. These divisions meet together for several annual district-wide events, including Fall Training Conference (FTC), Crazy Kompetition for Infants North/South (CKI North/South), District Large-Scale Service Project (DLSSP), and District Convention (DCON). Kiwanis International is a service organization dedicated to improving the lives of children within different communities all around the world. To accomplish and spread this mission, Kiwanis Clubs often sponsor Kiwanis Family clubs at different branches: K-Kids (Elementary School), Builders Club (Middle School), KIWINS (High School), Key Club (High School), Circle K (College) and Aktion Club (Adults with Disabilities). Our sponsoring Kiwanis International Club is Berkeley Kiwanis.

Our Amazing Advisors
OUR ADVISORS ARE THE BACKBONE OF CIRCLE K. THEY ARE THERE FOR SUPPORT AND WE APPRECIATE THEM SO MUCH! TAKE A READ TO GET TO KNOW OUR AMAZING ADVISORS SOME MORE.
Chris Tung BERKELEY KIWANIS ADVISOR
Hi Everyone, My name is Chris Tung and I am your Kiwanis Advisor. Currently, I am a Structural Engineer working in San Francisco and a member of Berkeley Kiwanis. I was in the club just like you when I was in college and honestly loved every minute of it. I am here for advice whether that be running for board, connecting with our Alumni, or simply just making it through college. I am looking forward to meeting you all and sincerely hope that you all find a sense of acceptance, purpose and excitement here at UCB Circle K! Best Regards, Chris
Ana Chavez CLUB FACULTY ADVISOR
Hello! I'm Ana and I am the Club Faculty/Staff Advisor. I graudated UC Berkeley in 2018 as a Legal Studies major and now work in the Human Resources department supporting the College of L&S. I grew up in Anaheim, came up here for college and just never left. I grew up with a variety of pets (i.e. dogs, cats, chinchillas, parrots, turtles) so I easily get distracted when I see one. If you see me around Berkeley, 9 out of 10 times it will be at Yifang or Feng Cha cause I lack a certain level of selfcontrol when it comes to my boba consumption. I've had many great memories and experiences being in the Kiwanis Family, so I hope you all have an amazing time being in the club as well! Hope to see you around!

September DCM
September 18, 2021
Who wants smore's? Every month we have a DCM (Divisional Council Meeting) where each club in our Golden Gate Division gives updates on what we've been up to and what we are planning. This month we had a beach bonfire DCM where we learned how to make smore's, roast hot dogs, shared affirmation bottles, and gave out awards (congrats to our very own Sarah Guo for getting Officer of the Month)!
Our Board Members who went: Ilse, Brandon and Austen

Family Revelations After Family Speed Friending, it's time to find
out which family you are in! At Revelations, family members worked together to unscramble letters that would spell out their family and family heads' names. After finding out their family, families spent the rest of Revelations getting to know each other. -Austin Hoang
Daring Dragons
Family Revelations were so exciting for Daring Dragons! After revealing who was in our family, we all went for boba and Thai food, followed by a round of icebreakers. It was wonderful getting to meet everyone and set a foundation for a fun-filled year!
-Amisha Jain
Famous Fairies
At our 2nd general meeting, we had our family revelations where the members were able to see what family they were a part of. Upon completing a puzzle, our family became aware that they joined Famous Fairies, otherwise known as the best family. Cindy and I plan to host a lot of fun events like socials and random boba runs.
-Victor Cruz Ramos
Whimsical Wizards
The Whimsical Wizards have many activities planned for the year. From study socials to Memorial Glade days to online activities (watch parties, games, etc.), we plan to be very flexible for every member. If you’re looking for a family that combines the best of both worlds, grab your wands and join us on a magical adventure! -Amanda Calindas

Family Battle Royale
Family Battle Royale is a week of daily challenges to help members bond with their family through a friendly competition against the other families. Challenges included going to Circle K events, grabbing a drink, and destressing before midterm season kicks off. The week culminated in a fun, epic Family Feud game night! After a long, hard-fought battle, the DARING DRAGONS emerged victorious and won gift cards! -Austin Hoang Whimsical Wizards on Teamwork Tuesday

Service Events
Sausal Creek Our Circle K volunteers helped rescue oak trees around the Pollinator Garden! They learned how to identify and remove invasive ivy and French broom growing on and around the native oak trees!
Service Inn At the September Service Inn we helped went to the Bliss Home and helped the Berkeley Kiwanis with a service event by cutting tennis balls to be able to attach to the bottom of chairs. We also worked on cardmaking for local children's hospitals and at the end enjoyed a home-cooked meal that our Berkeley Kiwanis deliciously prepared!
