Welcome to
UCLA Recreation UCLA Recreation manages 15 campus and satellite facilities in seven major locations and serves 37,000 students, 25,000 faculty, and more than 14,000 intramural participants. Located in the center of campus, and right next to the famous BruinWalk, the John Wooden Center alone has over 5,000 students enter daily, totaling over one million visitors during the year. Club Sports
Intramural Sports
The Club Sports Program provides opportunities for students, faculty and staff to improve their skill level and overall knowledge of a recreational sport or recreational interest. Each Club is maintained fully through student efforts, which means each has its own unique administration.
The Intramural Sports Program offers team, individual and dual events each year for Women, Men and Coed divisions. Each year, more than 16,000 people participate in intramural sports on more than 2,200 teams.
Fitness and Wellness The UCLA Recreation FITWELL Program activates wellness on campus by educating, motivating and empowering faculty, staff and students to make healthy lifestyle choices specifically in the areas of fitness and exercise, nutrition and weight management, stress management, and general health education.
Marina Aquatic Center The Marina Aquatic Center is UCLA’s premier water front recreation facility just 10 miles from campus in scenic Marina del Rey. The MAC is home to sailing classes and clubs, rowing classes, kayaking classes and trips, windsurfing classes and trips, and surfing classes and clinics.
Instructional Classes UCLA has a broad range of instructional classes available in the arts, dance, fitness, sports, martial arts, swimming, tennis, yoga, and a variety of group fitness programs. Most classes are designed for beginning and intermediate skill levels.
Outdoor Adventures Outdoor Adventures provides a variety of recreational and instructional opportunities, from our Challenge Course to the Great Outdoors. Outdoor Adventures is a cooperative outdoor recreation program designed to teach life-long outdoor pursuits.
Special Events Various special events throughout the year provide both UCLA Recreation and its partners a way to connect with the UCLA community.

Special Events UCLA holds many special events during the academic school year. Each of these connects sponsors with a high amount of students, faculty, and staff. Fully customizable sponsorships are available for each event, and can include product sampling, promotional contests and giveaways, signage, and online and print logo exposure.
Welcome Week (September) At the beginning of each new fall quarter, Welcome Week includes a variety of special events and opportunities for both new, returning and graduate students and their families.
Enormous Activities Fair Over 5,000 students and more than two-hundred campus organizations come together for a day of exhibitions, music, and vendor participation.
Club Sports Jamboree Provides demonstrations and interactive opportunities showcasing UCLA Recreation’s more then 40 club sports to more than 2,500 students.
Res Fest An evening event held in the John Wooden Center for all residence hall students. Over 3,000 students participate in classes, demonstrations, games, food and music.
I Heart Walking Week (February) This four day event will promote walking with an incentive to increase one’s health while decreasing our carbon footprint on the environment.
Guided Walks Hundreds of faculty and staff turn out for these lunch time walks through various prominent campus and Westwood locations. Participants are rewarded with a great workout and individual prize bags.

PAC-10 Fitness Challenge (October)
The Pac-10 Fitness Challenge is a conference-wide initiative promoting physical activity. Preceded by three weeks of promotions, the competition determines which Pac-10 campus is the most active during a given week during the Fall. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters log their activity online to help push their school to victory and increased wellness!
NCCS Western Regional Flag Football Championship (November)
40 elite intramural teams from universities across the western region gather at UCLA to compete for the Regional Championship and qualify for the National Championship tournament.
National Collegiate Golf Championships (November) Student, staff, and alumni teams that emerge victorious from over 60 university-sponosored local qualifiers compete for a National Championship in Las Vegas. Sponsorship of the NCGC includes on-course exposure at the National tournament, as well as campus activation at participating universities, making this a premier opportunity for national exposure.
The conclusion of I Heart Walking Event combines a 1-5 mile walk around the track with a vendor fair. Participants are entered into a raffle to win a variety of premium prizes.

TUN Advertisement TUN, or The University Network, is a nationwide digital narrowcasting network that delivers engaging content through large screen displays located in the high traffic areas in the John Wooden Recreation Center. Advertisement is a 30 second spot on a six minute rotation.

Rec Quarterly The Rec Quarterly is UCLA Recreation’s most popular publication that is distributed to over 15,000 students, staff, and faculty each quarter. The Rec Quarterly outlines and includes the Activity Guide, which lets you browse through recreational activities by areas of interest and skill level. Other features of the Rec Quarterly include: a monthly events calendar, group exercise schedules, a facilities map, and information regarding class enrollment. The Rec Quarterly is printed in June, September, December, and March.
Rec Quarterly Advertising Rates Advertising in the Rec Quarterly is one of the best ways to appeal to a specific target market at a reasonable price. We offer full color advertisements in five different options. Please note that there are no advertisements available for the inside front or inside back covers.

Product Sampling Opportunities
UCLA Recreation offers first-rate venues and events for exposure and product sampling. All sampling events consist of a four-hour time block, unless otherwise noted.
John Wooden Center - Lobby Serving as UCLA’s primary fitness facility, the John Wooden Center attracts over 5,000 visitors daily, and over 1 million annually.
John Wooden Center Outdoor Front Loggia Sampling on the Front Loggia gives vendors access to patrons entering the Wooden Center, as well as the thousands of students on Bruin Walk.
Enormous Activities Fair (September) Over 5,000 students gather for a fair in the center of campus to learn about ways to get involved.
Competitive Sports Jamboree (September) Students learn about club and intramural sports offerings. Attracts over 2,500 students.
Res Fest (September) A late-night party at the John Wooden Center, where students learn about UCLA Recreation while participating in a variet of fun activities and contests. Attracts over 3,000 students.
Intramural Games Basketball and Football Teams of students compete against one another in these popular sports, Sunday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 10:00pm.
